1Integrated optimization design of smart morphing wing for accurate shape control显示文摘Smart morphing wing, which is equipped with smart materials and able to change structural geometry adaptively, can further improve aerodynamic efficiency of aircraft. This paper presents a new integrated layout and topology optimization design for morphing wing driven by shape memory alloys(SMAs). By simultaneously optimizing the layout of smart actuators and topology of wing substrate, the ultimately determined configuration can achieve smooth, continuous and accurate geometric shape changes. In addition, aerodynamic analysis is carried out to compare smart morphing wing with traditional hinged airfoil. Finally, the optimized smart wing structure is constructed and tested to demonstrate and verify the morphing functionality. 2Precise output loads control of load-diffusion components with topology optimization显示文摘The purpose of this paper is to present a novel topology optimization approach to control precisely the output loads under static loads and harmonic excitations.We introduce the Artificial Bar Element(ABE)at the designated output positions,where the output loads are equivalently measured and constrained with the nodal displacements of ABE.Optimization model is then formulated considering the output load constraints as well as the minimization of strain energy and dynamic displacement responses respectively under the static and dynamic conditions.The influences of the ABEs stiffness,different material usages of the design domain,widths of the output loads constraint intervals and variation ratios of output loads are discussed in detail.The proposed method is verified with several numerical examples with clear and reasonable load transfer paths.Yinfeng CAO Xiaojun GU Jihong ZHU Weihong ZHANG 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,3:5

5溃疡性结肠炎内镜严重度指数(UCEIS)预测溃疡性结肠炎患者行储袋成形术的截点值:多中心长期随访研究结果显示文摘背景:全结直肠切除回肠储袋肛管吻合(IPAA)是溃疡性结肠炎(UC)患者的首选外科治疗术式。溃疡性结肠炎内镜严重度指数(UCEIS)用以预测UC患者的IPAA手术需求,目前尚缺乏数据。本研究旨在建立明确UCEIS预测UC患者IPAA手术需求的截点值。方法:对1986年6月至2020年3月间两个中心收治的UC患者进行回顾性分析。基于入院后首次结肠镜检查结果进行UCEIS评分。采用受试者操作特征曲线分析确定UCEIS评分预测IPAA需求的截点值。结果:293例UC患者纳入研究,中位UCEIS为4分。13年随访期间,80例(28.3%)患者接受外科治疗,其中75例(93.8%)行IPAA手术,5例(6.2%)行次全结肠切除加永久性造口。采用6分作为截点值,UCEIS对IPAA手术需求的预测价值最高,曲线下面积为0.769(P<0.001),灵敏度和特异度分别为72.0%和81.8%。UCEIS≥6是需要行IPAA手术(P<0.001)和恶性转化(P=0.010)的独立预测因素。UCEIS≥6的患者无IPAA生存时间显著短缩(P<0.001)。结论:UCEIS≥6或可作为IPAA手术决策的依据,推荐对这些UC患者行手术治疗以减少恶性转化的发生率。Weimin Xu Weijun Ou Jihong Fu Yubei Gu Long Cui Jie Zhong Peng Du 2021Gastroenterology Report2021,9,5:1

9Improvement of impact resistance of plain-woven composite by embedding superelastic shape memory alloy wires显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites have excellent mechanical properties, specifically, high specific stiffness and strength. However, most CFRP composites exhibit poor impact resistance. To overcome this limitation, this study presents a new plain-woven CFRP composite embedded with superelastic shape memory alloy (SMA) wires. Composite specimens are fabricated using the vacuum-assisted resin injection method. Drop-weight impact tests are conducted on composite specimens with and without SMA wires to evaluate the improvement of impact resistance. The material models of the CFRP composite and superelastic SMA wire are introduced and implemented into a finite element (FE) software by the explicit user-defined material subroutine. FE simulations of the drop-weight impact tests are performed to reveal the superelastic deformation and debonding failure of the SMA inserts. 10Fractional anisotropy of the corticospinal tract in normal adults: Preliminary study using a diffusion tensor imaging technique显示文摘BACKGROUND: The corticospinal tract is an important tract for conducting motor function. The majority of studies focus on lesions of the corticospinal tract on appearance and function, whereas observation of normal corticospinal pathways can also improve understanding of lesion outcomes. OBJECTIVE: To observe the normal adult corticospinal tract using a diffusion tensor imaging technique to analyze fractional anisotropy (FA) in different levels of the brain. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Neuroimaging observation was performed in the MRI Department, First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College in China, from October 2005 to October 2008. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 30 healthy adults were selected from the Department of MRI, First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College in China, from October 2005 to October 2008, and people with nervous system symptoms and signs were excluded. METHODS: Participants with normal conventional MRI results underwent diffusion tensor imaging examination in a 1.5 T GE MRI (slice thickness 4-5 mm, slice gap 0) for gradient data acquisition from 15 directions. The scanning involved the entire brain from the inferior medulla oblongata to the inferior cranial plate. Imaging post-processing was performed to obtain FA values; a paired t-test was applied for statistical analysis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: FA values of the bilateral corticospinal tract in the medulla oblongata, pons, cerebral peduncle, basal ganglia, corona radiata, and centrum semiovale. RESULTS: FA values in the medulla oblongata and centrum semiovale were similar (P > 0.01). FA values of left corticospinal tract were significantly greater than the right side in the pons, cerebral peduncle, basal ganglia and corona radiata (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: FA values vary by brain levels, including pons, cerebral peduncle, basal ganglia, and corona radiata. 12Design and applications of morphing aircraft and their structures显示文摘Morphing aircraft can adaptively regulate their aerodynamic layout to meet the demands of varying flight conditions,improve their aerodynamic efficiency,and reduce their energy consumption.The design and fabrication of high-performance,lightweight,and intelligent morphing structures have become a hot topic in advanced aircraft design.This paper discusses morphing aircraft development history,structural characteristics,existing applications,and future prospects.First,some conventional mechanical morphing aircraft are examined with focus on their morphing modes,mechanisms,advantages,and disadvantages.Second,the novel applications of several technologies for morphing unmanned aerial vehicles,including additive manufacturing for fabricating complex morphing structures,lattice technology for reducing structural weight,and multi-mode morphing combined with flexible skins and foldable structures,are summarized and categorized.Moreover,in consideration of the further development of active morphing aircraft,the paper reviews morphing structures driven by smart material actuators,such as shape memory alloy and macro-fiber composites,and analyzes their advantages and limitations.Third,the paper discusses multiple challenges,including flexible structures,flexible skins,and control systems,in the design of future morphing aircraft.Lastly,the development and application of morphing structures in the aerospace field are discussed to provide a reference for future research and engineering applications.Jihong ZHU Jiannan YANG Weihong ZHANG Xiaojun GU Han ZHOU 2023Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2023,18,3:0
13Unraveling templated-regulated distribution of isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra in silicoaluminophosphate zeolites with high-throughput computations显示文摘Silicoaluminophosphate(SAPO)zeolites are well-known catalytic materials because of the mild acidity originating from the isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra in their frameworks.Regulating the distribution of isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra in SAPO zeolites is formidably challenging because SiO_(4) tetrahedra tend to agglomerate to form Si islands and the isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra are difficult to determine using conventional characterization techniques.Here we synthesized Si-island-free SAPO-35 zeolites by using N-methylpiperidine as a new template,which exhibited excellent thermal stability compared to conventional SAPO-35 zeolites and a substantially improved methanol-to-olefins catalytic lifetime even comparable to that of commercial SAPO-34 zeolites.More strikingly,with the aid of high-throughput computations on 44697 structure models combined with various state-of-the-art characterization techniques,for the first time,we reveal that the host–guest interactions between template molecules and SAPO frameworks determine the specific distributions of isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra,which are responsible for the improvement in the chemical properties of zeolites.Our work provides an insight into the template-based regulation of isolated SiO_(4) tetrahedra in SAPO zeolites,which opens a new avenue in the discovery of promising zeolite catalysts with optimal SiO_(4) distribution.Yan Li Chao Shi Lin Li Guoju Yang Junyan Li Jun Xu Qinfen Gu Xingxing Wang Ji Han Tianjun Zhang Yi Li Jihong Yu 2022National Science Review2022,9,9:0
14Formation Process and Mechanical Deformation Behavior of a Novel Laser-Printed Compression-Induced Twisting-Compliant Mechanism显示文摘A novel compression-induced twisting(CIT)-compliant mechanism was designed based on the freedom and constraint topology(FACT)method and manufactured by means of laser powder bed fusion(LPBF).The effects of LPBF printing parameters on the formability and compressive properties of the laserprinted CIT-compliant mechanism were studied.Within the range of optimized laser powers from 375 to 450 W and with the densification level of the samples maintained at above 98%,changes in the obtained relative densities of the LPBF-fabricated CIT-compliant mechanism with the applied laser powers were not apparent.Increased laser power led to the elimination of residual metallurgical pores within the inclined struts of the CIT mechanism.The highest dimensional accuracy of 0.2% and the lowest surface roughness of 20μm were achieved at a laser power of 450 W.The deformation behavior of the CIT-compliant mechanism fabricated by means of LPBF exhibited four typical stages:an elastic stage,a heterogeneous plastic deformation stage,a strength-destroying stage,and a deformation-destroying stage(or instable deformation stage).The accumulated compressive strain of the optimally printed CIT mechanism using a laser power of 450 W went up to 20% before fracturing,demonstrating a large deformation capacity.The twisting behavior and mechanical properties were investigated via a combination of finite-element simulation and experimental verification.An approximately linear relationship between the axial compressive strain and rotation angle was achieved before the strain reached 15% for the LPBF-processed CIT-compliant mechanism.Jie Gao Dongdong Gu Chenglong Ma Donghua Dai Lixia Xi Kaijie Lin Tong Gao Jihong Zhu Yuexin Du 2022Engineering2022,8,8:0
15Six new coumarins from the roots of Toddalia asiatica and their anti-inflammatory activities显示文摘We reported the discovery of six novel coumarins, toddasirins A–F ( 1 – 6 ), each endowed with modified isoprenyl or geranyl side chains, derived from the roots of Toddalia asiatica. Comprehensive structural elucidation was achieved through multispectroscopic analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments, and advanced quantum mechanical electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory activity of these compounds was assessed.
