| 1 | Chemical vapor deposition of monolayer WS2 nano- sheets on Au foils toward direct application in hydrogen evolution显示文摘Monolayer tungsten disulfide (WS2), a typical member of the semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenide family has drawn considerable interest because of its unique properties. Intriguingly the edge of WS2 exhibits an ideal hydrogen binding energy which makes WS2 a potential alternative to Pt-based electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Here, we demonstrate for the first time the successful synthesis of uniform monolayer WS2 nanosheets on centimeter- scale Au foils using a facile, low-pressure chemical vapor deposition method. The edge lengths of the universally observed triangular WS2 nanosheets are tunable from -100 to N1,000 nm. The WS2 nanosheets on Au foils featuring abundant edges were then discovered to be efficient catalysts for the HER, exhibiting a rather high exchange current density of -30.20 μA/cm2 and a small onset potential of Nl10 mV. The effects of coverage and domain size (which correlate closely with the active edge density of WS2) on the electrocatalytic activity were investigated. | 3 | Distribution of isotopes and chemicals in precipitation in Shule River Basin,northwestern China:an implication for water cycle and groundwater recharge显示文摘The distribution of stable isotopes and ions in precipitation in the Shule River Basin,northwestern China,were investigated to understand the regional water cycle and precipitation input to groundwater recharge.The study found that the mean annual concentrations of Ca2+,Na+,SO42–,Cl–,Mg2+,NO3–,and K+ in the basin were lower than those in other arid areas of northwestern China.The average concentrations of ions in the lower reaches of the Shule River were higher than those in the upper reaches.The results showed that the main ionic concentrations decreased with the increase of precipitation amount,indicating that heavy precipitation cannot only wash crustal aerosols out of the atmosphere,but also create a dilution effect.Cl– and Na+ in precipitation had a strong and positive correlation,suggesting a common origin for the two ions.However,the excess of Na+,combined with non-marine SO42– and NO3–,indicated that some ions were contributed by terrestrial origins.In the extremely arid regions of northwestern China,the evaporation process obviously changes the original relationship between δ2H and δ18O in precipitation,and leads to dexcess values <8‰.δ18O and temperature were significantly correlated,suggested that temperature strongly affected the characteristics of isotopes in the study area.The δ18O value indicates a dominant effect of westerly air masses and southwest monsoon in warm months,and the integrated influence of westerly and Siberian-Mongolian polar air masses in cold months.The d-excess values were generally lower in warm months than those in cold months,indicating that post-condensation processes played a significant role in the water cycle.The results provide reliable precipitation input information that can be used in future groundwater recharge calculations in the study area. | ZHAO Wei MA Jinzhu GU Chunjie QI Shi ZHU Gaofeng HE Jiahua | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,6: | 6 |
| 4 | Tet2 Regulates Osteoclast Differentiation by Interacting with Runx1 and Maintaining Genomic 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine(5hmC)显示文摘As a dioxygenase, Ten-Eleven Translocation 2(TET2) catalyzes subsequent steps of 5-methylcytosine(5 mC) oxidation. TET2 plays a critical role in the self-renewal, proliferation,and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells, but its impact on mature hematopoietic cells is not well-characterized. Here we show that Tet2 plays an essential role in osteoclastogenesis. Deletion of Tet2 impairs the differentiation of osteoclast precursor cells(macrophages) and their maturation into bone-resorbing osteoclasts in vitro. Furthermore, Tet2^(-/-) mice exhibit mild osteopetrosis, accompanied by decreased number of osteoclasts in vivo. Tet2 loss in macrophages results in the altered expression of a set of genes implicated in osteoclast differentiation, such as Cebpa, Mafb, and Nfkbiz. Tet2 deletion also leads to a genome-wide alteration in the level of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC) and altered expression of a specific subset of macrophage genes associated with osteoclast differentiation. Furthermore, Tet2 interacts with Runx1 and negatively modulates its transcriptional activity. Our studies demonstrate a novel molecular mechanism controlling osteoclast differentiation and function by Tet2, that is, through interactions with Runx1 and the maintenance of genomic 5 hmC. | 11 | Potential factors and mechanism of particulate matters explosive increase induced by free radicals oxidation显示文摘Atmospheric particulate pollution in China has attracted much public attention.Occasionally, the particle number concentration increases sharply in a short time period,which is defined as a 'particulate matter explosive increase'. Heavy particulate matter pollution not only reduces visibility but also has an adverse effect on human health. Hence,there is an urgent need to discover the causes of particulate matter explosive increase.During this campaign, the particle number concentration and free radicals were measured at a tall building on the campus of Lanzhou University of Technology. Additionally, we examined a series of chemicals to reproduce the observed particulate matter explosive increase in a smog chamber to determine its potential factors. Then, we analyzed the mechanism of particulate matter explosive increase in the presence of free radicals. We found that, among the potential inorganic and organic sources analyzed, a mixture of organic and SO_2 in the research region had a major effect on particulate matter explosive increase. | 13 | Buffer and Wiresizing Optimization under the Distributed RLC Model with Crosstalk Constraint显示文摘In this paper, we study the interconnect buffer and wiresizing optimization problem under a distributed RLC model to optimize not just area and delay, but also crosstalk for RLC circuit with non-monotone signal response. We present a new multi- objective genetic algorithm(MOGA) which uses a single objective sorting(SOS) method for constructing the non-dominated set to solve this multi-objective interconnect optimization problem. The MOGA/SOS optimal algorithm provides a smooth trade-off among signal delay, wave form, and routing area. Furthermore, we use a new method to calculate the lower bound of crosstalk. Extensive experimental results show that our algorithm is scalable with problem size.
