| 1 | FOXP3 expression and clinical characteristics of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To study the biological and clinical characteristics of transcription factor forkhead box protein 3 (FOXP3) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: We analyzed the expression and localization of FOXP3 in HCC tissues and cell lines to evaluate its biological features. The relationship between FOXP3 staining and clinical risk factors of HCC was assessedto identify the clinical characteristics of FOXP3 in HCC. RESULTS: The mRNA and protein expression of FOXP3 were found in some hepatoma cell lines. Immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis of HCC sections revealed that 48% of HCC displayed FOXP3 staining, but we did not find any FOXP3 staining in normal liver tissues and para-tumor tissues. IHC and Confocal analysis showed that the expressions of FOXP3 were mainly present in the nucleus and cytoplasm of tumor cells in tissues or cell lines. In HCC, the distribution of FOXP3 was similar to that of the cirrhosis, but not to the hepatitis B virus. Those findings implicate that FOXP3 staining seems to be associated with the high risk of HCC. | 3 | Anatomy of the lateral ligaments of the rectum: A controversial point of view显示文摘The existence and composition of the lateral ligaments of the rectum (LLR) are still the subjects of anatomical confusion and surgical misconception up to now. Since Miles proposed abdominoperineal excision as radical surgery for rectal cancer, the identification by 'hooking them on the finger' has been accepted by many surgeons with no doubt; clamping, dividing and ligating are considered to be essential procedures in mobilization of the rectum in many surgical textbooks. But in cadaveric studies, many anatomists could not find LLR described by the textbooks, and more and more surgeons also failed to find LLR during the proctectomy according to the principle of total mesorectal excision. The anatomy of LLR has diverse descriptions in literatures. According to our clinical observations, the traditional anatomical structures of LLR do exist; LLR are constant dense connective bundles which are located in either lateral side of the lower part of the rectum, run between rectal visceral fascia and pelvic parietal fascia above the levator ani, and covered by superior fascia of pelvic diaphragm. | 4 | Rheological Properties and Structural Changes in Different Sections of Boiled Abalone Meat显示文摘Changes in tissue structures, rheological properties of cross- and vertical section boiled abalone meat were studied in relation to boiling time. The adductor muscle of abalone Haliotis discus which was removed from the shell, was boiled for 1, 2, and 3 h, respectively. Then it was cut up and separated into cross- and vertical section meat. When observed by a light microscope and a scanning electron microscope, structural changes in the myofibrils were greatest in the cross section meat compared with the vertical section meat. When boiling time was increased from 1 h to 3 h, the instantaneous modulus E 0 and rupture strength of both section meat decreased gradually with increased boiling time, and no significant differences were observed between these two section meat for the same boiling time. When boiled for 1 h, the relaxation time of cross section meat was much longer than that of vertical section meat. There were no significant changes in the relaxation time of vertical section for different boiling time, but the relaxation time of cross section meat was reduced gradually with increasing boiling time. | 6 | Design,Modeling and Experimentation of a Biomimetic Wall-climbing Robot for Multiple Surfaces显示文摘Wall-climbing robots can work on steep terrain and obtain environment information in three dimensions for human in real time,which can improve operation efficiency.However,traditional single-mode robots cannot ensure the stable attachment on complex wall surfaces.Inspired by the structure characteristics of flies and clingfishes,three bionic structures including the flexible spine wheel,the adhesive material and the adsorption system are proposed.Aiming at task requirements on multiple walls and based on the above three bionic structures,a wall-climbing robot with the composed mode of“grabbing+adhesion+adsorption”is presented v/a the law of mechanism configuration synthesis.Using static analysis,the safe attachment conditions for the robot on smooth and rough walls are that the adsorption force is 30 N or more.Based on Newton's Euler and Lagrange formulas,the dynamic equations of the robot on vertical walls are established to deduce that the maximum theoretical torque of the driving motor is 1.43 N·m at a uniform speed.Finally,the prototype of the wall-climbing robot is manufactured and tested on the vertical lime wall,coarse sandpaper wall and acrylic ceiling wall.Meanwhile,experiment results imply that the average maximum moving speed and the corresponding load are 7.19 cm·s-1 and 0.8 kg on the vertical lime wall,7.78 cm·s-1 and 0.6 kg on the coarse sandpaper wall,and 5.93 cm·s-1 and 0.2 kg on the acrylic ceiling wall respectively.These findings could provide practical reference for the robot’s application on walls. | Jinfu Liu Linsen Xu Jiajun Xu Tao Li Shouqi Chen Hong Xu Gaoxin Cheng Marco Ceccarelli | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,3: | 2 |

| 8 | Inhibitory effect of the adenovirus type 5 E1A protein expressed in the yeast system显示文摘Adenovirus 5 type E1A as a tumor suppressor gene can inhibit tumor growth and enhance the sensitivity of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. E1A have the ability to integrate into the host genome, resulting in long-time expres-sion that induces Rb gene inactivation and animal cells im-mortalization. This prompted us to select the E1A protein for treatment of cancer in order to overcome the limitations of E1A gene therapy. Thus, we firstly constructed E1A eu-caryotic expression vector (pPIC9/E1A), transformated the pichia pastoris yeast cells (GS115) and screened the high-expressing recombinant strains. The positive yeast strains were cultured in the shake flask, and induced for 3 d. The crude E1A protein was purified using two steps of col-umn chromatography on HiTrap Q and HiTrap SP. The pu-rified E1A protein was identified by SDS-PAGE and Western blot. E1A protein was mostly located at cellular nuclear when Chariot delivered E1A protein into cells. The analysis in vitro indicated that the E1A protein arrested LN686 cell cycle at G2/M phase, and significantly inhibited the growth of LN686 tumor cells. | 10 | Researches on the Stability of Porphyra-334 Solution and Its Influence Factors显示文摘The stability of porphyra-334 in solutions of different pH values at different temperatures was studied. In high acidic conditions, below pH 3, the absorption maximum, λ max, of porphyra-334 shows hypsochromic shift towards lower wavelength and the absorbance also has a light decrease. In high alkaline conditions of over pH 12, the absorbance of porphyra-334 decreases and an unknown compound with a peak maximum at 225 nm appears. The peak height of the unknown compound increases with the decrease of absorbance of porphyra-334. This might be related to the decomposition of porphyra-334. At room temperature, porphyra-334 solutions, except high alkaline solutions, are stable. | 14 | Novel biomonitoring method for determining five classes of legacy and alternative flame retardants in human serum samples显示文摘Flame retardants(FRs)are ubiquitous in environment and biota and may pose harm to human health.In recent years,concern regarding legacy and alternative FRs has been intensified due to their widespread production and increasing contamination in environmental and human matrices.In this study,we developed and validated a novel analytical method for simultaneous determination of legacy and alternative FRs,including polychlorinated naphthalenes(PCNs),short-and middle-chain chlorinated paraffins(SCCPs and MCCPs),novel brominated flame retardants(NBFRs),and organophosphate esters(OPEs)in human serum.Serum samples were prepared by liquid-liquid extraction using ethyl acetate,and purified with Oasis®HLB cartridge and Florisil–silica gel columns.Instrumental analyses were carried out using gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry,highresolution gas chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry,and gas chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry,respectively.The proposed method was validated for linearity,sensitivity,precision,accuracy,and matrix effects.Method detection limits for NBFRs,OPEs,PCNs,SCCPs,and MCCPs were 4.6×10^(–4)–8.6×10^(–2),4.3×10^(–3)–1.3,1.1×10^(–5)–1.0×10^(–4),1.5,and 9.0×10–1 ng/mL,respectively.Matrix spike recoveries ranged from 73%–122%,71%–124%,75%–129%,92%–126%,and 94%–126%for NBFRs,OPEs,PCNs,SCCPs,and MCCPs,respectively.The analytical method was applied for detection of real human serum.CPs were the dominant FRs in serum,indicating CPs were widely presented in human serum and should be pay more attention for their health risk. | Xiaolin Guan Gaoxin Zhang Lingling Meng Mei Liu Liyuan Zhang Chuxuan Zhao Yingming Li Qinghua Zhang Guibin Jiang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,9: | 0 |
