| 1 | First observations of low latitude whistlers using WHU ELF/VLF receiver system显示文摘The recently developed high-quality WHU ELF/VLF receiver system has been deployed in Suizhou, China(geomagnetic latitude 21.81°N, longitude 174.44°E, L=1.16) to detect low latitude extremely-low-frequency(ELF: 0.3-3 k Hz) and very-low-frequency(VLF: 3-30 k Hz) emissions originating from either natural or artificial sources since February 2016. During the first-month operation of the receiver system, a total of 3039 clear whistlers have been recorded at this low latitude station with the majority(97.0%) occurring on 28 February and 1 March 2016. Observed whistlers manifest various types including single one-hop, echo train, multi-flash, and multi-path. They tend to intensify after local midnight, reach the peak around 04-05 LT, and then weaken quickly. Both features of lower cutoff frequencies of most whistlers below ~1.6 k Hz and almost uniform dispersion for many successive multi-flash whistlers suggest that these whistlers propagate along the geomagnetic field lines in the duct mode. | 2 | Neurological function following intra-neural injection of fluorescent neuronal tracers in rats显示文摘Fluorescent neuronal tracers should not be toxic to the nervous system when used in long-term labeling.Previous studies have addressed tracer toxicity,but whether tracers injected into an intact nerve result in functional impairment remains to be elucidated.In the present study,we examined the functions of motor,sensory and autonomic nerves following the application of 5% Fluoro-Gold,4% True Blue and 10% Fluoro-Ruby (5μL) to rat tibial nerves via pressure injection.A set of evaluation methods including walking track analysis,plantar test and laser Doppler perfusion imaging was used to determine the action of the fluorescent neuronal tracers.Additionally,nerve pathology and ratio of muscle wet weight were also observed.Results showed that injection of Fluoro-Gold significantly resulted in loss of motor nerve function,lower plantar sensibility,increasing blood flow volume and higher neurogenic vasodilatation.Myelinated nerve fiber degeneration,unclear boundaries in nerve fibers and high retrograde labeling efficacy were observed in the Fluoro-Gold group.The True Blue group also showed obvious neurogenic vasodilatation,but less severe loss of motor function and degeneration,and fewer labeled motor neurons were found compared with the Fluoro-Gold group.No anomalies of motor and sensory nerve function and no myelinated nerve fiber degeneration were observed in the Fluoro-Ruby group.Experimental findings indicate that Fluoro-Gold tracing could lead to significant functional impairment of motor,sensory and autonomic nerves,while functional impairment was less severe following True Blue tracing.Fluoro-Ruby injection appears to have no effect on neurological function. | Wen Hu Dan Liu Yanping Zhang Zhongyi Shen Tianwen Gu Xiaosong Gu Jianhui Gu | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013，8，14： | 3 |
| 3 | Synthesis,characterization and cell imaging properties of rare earth compounds based on hydroxamate ligand显示文摘Six binuclear rare earth compounds were synthesized through the ligand of 4-Bromo-N-hydroxy-Nmethyl-benzamide(sH_2 bha). Compounds 1-3 are isomorphous, and compound 1 is crystallized in the monoclinic system with the P2_1/c space group. Compounds 4 and 5 are isomorphous, and compound 4 is crystallized in the triclinic system with the P-1 space group. Compound 6 is crystallized in the triclinic system with the P-1 space group. The compounds were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and IR spectroscopy. The fluorescence spectrum in the visible area shows characteristic peaks of Eu, Tb, and Dy compounds. The efficiency of Eu compound on the viability of PC3 cells was assessed using CCK8 assays. From the CCK8 results, ionic concentration may have a great effect on PC3 cells' proliferation. Eu compound shows red fluorescence in the cytoplasm of PC3 cell. | 14 | Investigation of the structural, electronic and mechanical properties of CaO–SiO_(2) compound particles in steel based on density functional theory显示文摘CaO–SiO_(2)compounds compromise one of the most common series of oxide particles in liquid steels, which could significantly affect the service performance of the steels as crack initiation sites. However, the structural, electronic, and mechanical properties of the compounds in CaO–SiO_(2)system are still not fully clarified due to the difficulties in the experiments. In this study, a thorough investigation of these properties of CaO–SiO_(2)compound particles in steels was conducted based on first-principles density functional theory. Corresponding phases were determined by thermodynamic calculation, including gamma dicalcium silicate(γ-C2S), alpha-prime(L) dicalcium silicate(αL′-C2S), alpha-prime(H) dicalcium silicate(αH′-C2S), alpha dicalcium silicate(α-C2S), rankinite(C3S2), hatrurite(C3S), wollastonite(CS), and pseudowollastonite(Ps-CS). The results showed that the calculated crystal structures of the eight phases agree well with the experimental results. All the eight phases are stable according to the calculated formation energies, and γ-C2S is the most stable. O atom contributes the most to the reactivity of these phases. The Young’s modulus of the eight phases is in the range of 100.63–132.04 GPa. Poisson’s ratio is in the range of0.249–0.281.
