Field experiment on a robust hierarchical metropolitan quantum cryptography network显示文摘A hierarchical metropolitan quantum cryptography network upon the inner-city commercial telecom fiber cables is reported in this paper. The seven-user network contains a four-node backbone net with one node acting as the subnet gateway, a two-user subnet and a single-fiber access link, which is realized by the Faraday-Michelson interferometer set-ups. The techniques of the quantum router, optical switch and trusted relay are assembled here to guarantee the feasibility and expandability of the quantum cryptography network. Five nodes of the network are located in the government departments and the secure keys generated by the quantum key distribution network are utilized to encrypt the instant video, sound, text messages and confidential files transmitting between these bureaus. The whole implementation including the hierarchical quantum cryptographic communication network links and the corresponding application software shows a big step toward the practical user-oriented network with a high security level. | XU FangXing CHEN Wei WANG Shuang YIN ZhenQiang ZHANG Yang LIU Yun ZHOU Zheng ZHAO YiBo LI HongWei LIU Dong HAN ZhengFu GUO GuangCan | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,17: | 40
Active phase compensation of quantum key distribution system显示文摘Quantum key distribution (QKD) system must be robust enough in practical communication. Besides birefringence of fiber, system performance is notably affected by phase drift. The Faraday-Michelson QKD system can auto-compensate the birefringence of fiber, but phase shift is still a serious problem in its practical operation. In this paper, the major reason of phase drift and its effect on Faraday- Michel- son QKD system is analyzed and an effective active phase compensation scheme is proposed. By this means, we demonstrate a quantum key distribution system which can stably run over 37-km fiber in practical working condition with the long-time averaged quantum bit error rate of 1.59% and the stan- dard derivation of 0.46%. This result shows that the active phase compensation scheme is suitable to be used in practical QKD systems based on double asymmetric interferometers without additional de- vices and thermal controller. | CHEN Wei HAN ZhengFu MO XiaoFan XU FangXing WEI Guo GUO GuangCan | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,9: | 24
Multiple stochastic paths scheme on partially-trusted relay quantum key distribution network显示文摘Quantum key distribution (QKD) technology provides proven unconditional point-to-point security based on fundamental quantum physics. A QKD network also holds promise for secure multi-user communications over long distances at high-speed transmission rates. Although many schemes have been proposed so far, the trusted relay QKD network is still the most practical and flexible scenario. In reality, the insecurity of certain relay sections cannot be ignored, so to solve the fatal security problems of partially-trusted relay networks we suggest a multiple stochastic paths scheme. Its features are: (i) a safe probability model that may be more practical for real applications; (ii) a multi-path scheme with an upper bound for the overall safe probability; (iii) an adaptive stochastic routing algorithm to generate sufficient different paths and hidden routes. Simulation results for a typical partially-trusted relay QKD network show that this generalized scheme is effective. | WEN Hao HAN ZhengFu ZHAO YiBo GUO GuangCan HONG PeiLin | 2009 | Science in China(Series F)2009,52,1: | 17

A universal coherent source for quantum key distribution显示文摘We propose a concept of universal coherent source for quantum key distribution. The weak coherent pulse (WCP) and heralded single photon source (HSPS) are the most common photon sources for state-of-art quantum key distribution (QKD). However, there exists a prominent crossover between the maximal secure distance and the secure key generating rate in short and middle distance if one applies these two sources in a practical decoy state quantum key distribution. It is shown that by combining the heralded pair coherent state (HPCS) photon source and the practical decoy state method together, one can not only strengthen the maximal secure transmission distance, but also improve key generat-ing rate at short and medium distance. Moreover, the advancement in key generating is not confined in the particular protocol utilized and can be easily checked for both BB84 and SARG protocol. Finally, we clearly demonstrate how the HPCS-based decoy method works effectively and feasibly by proposing an efficient HPCS-based '1 signal+2 decoy' state method. | ZHANG ShengLi ZOU XuBo LI ChuanFeng JIN ChenHui GUO GuangCan | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,11: | 15
Effects of soil drought on photosynthetic traits and antioxidant enzyme activities in Hippophae rhamnoides seedlings显示文摘Water deficit is one of the major limiting factors in vegetation recovery and reconstruction in the semi-arid area of loess hilly regions. Leaf photosynthesis in Hippophae rhamnoides Linn., a common tree grown in this region, decreases under water stress, but the mechanism responsible is not clear. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of drought stress on photosynthesis and the relationship between photosynthetic variables and soil water contents to help us better understand the photophysiological characteristics of H. rhamnoides under water stress and guide cultivation in the loess hilly region. Here, gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence and antioxidant enzyme activity in leaves of 3-year-old saplings of H.rhamnoides grown in pots were tested under eight soil water conditions. When soil water content(RWC) was between 38.9 and 70.5 %, stomatal limitation was responsible for the reduced net photosynthetic rate(PN).When RWC was lower than 38.9 %, nonstomatal limitation was the main factor restricting PN. Moderate water stress improved the water use efficiency(WUE) of the leaf.Water stress significantly influenced fluorescence variables and the antioxidant enzyme system. When RWC was between 38.9 and 70.5 %, nonphotochemical quenching(NPQ) increased and then decreased, indicating that thermal energy dissipation was a significant photoprotection mechanism. Antioxidant enzymes were activated when RWC ranged from 48.3 to 70.5 %; under severe water stress(RWC \ 38.9 %), the antioxidant enzyme system was damaged, the activity of the antioxidant enzymes declined, and membranes were damaged. In the semiarid loess hilly region, RWC between 58.6 and 70.5 % was the economic water threshold value that maintained higher WUE and PN, and the maximum soil water deficit level that could sustain H. rhamnoides was RWC of 38.9 %. | Jingwen Liu Ronghua Zhang Guangcan Zhang Jing Guo Zhi Dong | 2017 | Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,2: | 8
High-Q whispering gallery modes in a polymer microresonator with broad strain tuning显示文摘We have reported the high-Q whispering gallery modes(WGMs) in a polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) optical microresonators with broad tuning range. The PDMS microresonators are fabricated at the center of two collimating fiber tips, which can be controlled by the piezoelectric stage. Through stretching the fiber stem, the tuning range of WGMs are demonstrated more than 50 nm.Further investigations demonstrated that the WGM shift has a high force sensitivity(~ 19.7 pm/μN) of the gravitation when the microcavity is stretched by a weight. The theoretical analysis reveals that the high force sensitivity of polymer microresonator can be used for the weak force or height measurement. | ZHOU ZhongHao SHU FangJie SHEN Zhen DONG ChunHua GUO GuangCan | 2015 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2015,58,11: | 6
A mechanically tuned Kerr comb in a dispersion-engineered silica microbubble resonator显示文摘This paper discusses the developement and investigation of a silica microbubble resonator(MBR) that is optimized to cancel mode dispersion with material dispersion, at a wavelength of approximately 1550 nm and maintain a quality factor of an optical mode as large as 5.4 × 10~7. Benefitting from the near-zero dispersion and high quality factor, a primary optical comb is generated in the MBR using cascaded four-wave mixing processes, which span over 300 nm with several tens of teeth. Furthermore, the frequency comb could be gradually tuned by mechanically stretching the MBR. This tunable Kerr comb has multiple potential applications in precision measurements and sensing applications, such as molecular spectroscopy and ranging. | FangJie Shu PeiJi Zhang YanJun Qian ZhengYu Wang Shuai Wan Chang Ling Zou GuangCan Guo ChunHua Dong | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,5: | 5
Subdiffraction optical manipulation of the charge state of nitrogen vacancy center in diamond显示文摘As a potential candidate for quantum computation and metrology, the nitrogen vacancy(NV)center in diamond presents both challenges and opportunities resulting from charge-state conversion.By utilizing different lasers for the photon-induced charge-state conversion,we achieved subdiffraction charge-state manipulation. The charge-state depletion(CSD)microscopy resolution was improved to 4.1 nm by optimizing the laser pulse sequences.Subsequently, the electron spin-state dynamics of adjacent NV centers were selectively detected via the CSD.The experimental results demonstrated that the CSD can improve the spatial resolution of the measurement of NV centers for nanoscale sensing and quantum information. | Xiangdong Chen Changling Zou Zhaojun Gong Chunhua Dong Guangcan Guo Fangwen Sun | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 4
Simulation of the Ising model, memory for Bell states and generation of four-atom entangled states in cavity QED显示文摘A scheme is proposed to simulate the Ising model and preserve the maximum entangled states (Bell states) in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) driven by a classical field with large detuning. In the strong driving and large-detuning regime, the effective Hamiltonian of the system is the same as the standard Ising model, and the scheme can also make the initial four Bell states of two atoms at the maximum entanglement all the time. So it is a simple memory for the maximal entangled states. The system is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field and more immune to decoherence. These advantages can warrant the experimental feasibility of the current scheme. Furthermore, the genuine four-atom entanglement may be acquired via two Bell states through one-step implementation on four two-level atoms in the strong-driven model, and when two Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are prepared in our scheme, the entangled cluster state may be acquired easily. The success probability for the scheme is 1. | ZHANG YingJie XIA YunJie MAN ZhongXiao GUO GuangCan | 2009 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,5: | 4
Effects of drought stress on the photosynthetic physiological parameters of Populus 3 euramericana ‘‘Neva''显示文摘Populus 9 euramericana ‘‘Neva'' is the main poplar species in China, where drought stress is becoming extremely urgent. We carried out this research to study the effects of drought stress on the photosynthesis of Populus 9 euramericana ‘‘Neva''. Drought stress was induced by 58–62%(light), 48–52%(moderate), and 38–42%(severe) relative soil moisture content(RSMC). The effects of drought stress on photosynthetic rate, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, and other related physiological parameters were investigated during treatment. Net photosynthetic rate(PN), and stomatal conductance decreased significantly and intercellular CO_2 concentration initially increased and then declined, whereas the stomatal limitation factors showed opposite trends in the light under moderate drought stress. Photosystem II(PSII) maximum photochemical efficiency, actual photochemical efficiency, and photochemical quenching decreased gradually under drought stress, whereas nonphotochemical quenching initially increased and then declined. Superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and catalase activities initially increased and then decreased as RSMC was reduced, whereas malondialdehyde(MDA) content and relative electric conductivity(REC) increased gradually. These results suggest that stomatal factors accounted for the decline in PNunder light and moderate drought stress, whereas leaf PNdecreased mainly due to non-stomatal factors under severe drought stress. PSII was damaged; thus, photosynthetic electron transfer was restricted, indicating that heat dissipation is important for the light protection mechanism of plants.Antioxidant enzymes increased at the beginning of treatment, and the increased MDA and REC led to cell membrane damage. These results suggest that poplar seedlings stabilized their photosynthetic apparatus by reducing the light trapping ability under light and moderate drought stress conditions. This helped dissipate heat and enhance antioxidant enzyme activity. Stomatal factors accounted for the decline in P_N, whereas damage to PSII and antioxidant enzymes under severe drought stress suggested that the decline in P_N was caused by non-stomatal restrictive factors. | Guoting Liang Jianwen Bu Shuyong Zhang Guo Jing Guangcan Zhang Xia Liu | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,2: | 3
Interconversion of photon-phonon in a silica optomechanical microresonator显示文摘In an optomechanical resonator, the optical and mechanical excitations can be coherently converted, which induces a transparency window for a weak probe laser beam. Here, we report an experimental study of transient optomechanically induced transparency(OMIT) using the silica microsphere with the breathing modes. The transient OMIT behavior obtained are in good agreement with theoretical calculations. In addition, the coherent interconversion between optical and mechanical excitations that can be used for light storage and readout has also been studied here. Our experimental results indicate that the light storage is closely related to the process of OMIT, and the photon-phonon conversion can be further applied to optical wavelength or optical mode conversion. | DONG ChunHua SHEN Zhen ZOU ChangLing GUO GuangCan | 2015 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2015,58,5: | 3
