| 1 | Weldability, microstructure and mechanical properties of laser-welded selective laser melted 304 stainless steel joints显示文摘Laser welding is a promising process for joining small components produced by selective laser melting (SLM) to fabricate the large-scale and complex-shaped parts. In the work, the morphology, microstructure, microhardness, tensile properties and corrosion resistance of the laser welded stress-relieved SLMed 304 stainless steel joints are investigated, as the different sections of stress-relieved SLMed 304 stainless steel are joined. Results show that the SLMed 304 stainless steel plates have a good laser weldability. The microstructure of laser-welded joints consists of the cellular dendrites in austenite matrix within columnar grains, exhibiting a coarser dendrite structure, lower microhardness (~220HV) and tensile properties (tensile strength of ~750 MPa, and area reduction of ~27.6%), but superior corrosion resistance to those of SLMed plates. The dendrite arm spacing of the joints varies from ~3.7μm in center zone, to ~5.0 (xm in fusion zone, to ~2.5 in epitaxial zone. The SLMed anisotropy shows a negligible effect on the microstructure and performance of the laser-welded joints. | 2 | Efficient production of ethyl levulinate from cassava over Al2(SO4)3 catalyst in ethanol–water system显示文摘One-pot achievement of ethyl levulinate from cassava was conducted in ethanol-water system over several simple sulfate salt catalysts.Al_2(SO_4)_3 catalyst had the best performance in synthesizing ethyl levulinate comparing with those of a series of sulfate salts.The highest yields of ethyl levulinate was up to39.27%as well as 7.78%levulinate acid when cassava was catalyzed in ethanol medium by adding 10 wt%water.^(13)C and ~1H NMR spectroscopic investigations confirmed that isomerization of glucose to fructose over Al_2(SO_4)_3 catalyst is an important step in producing ethyl levulinate and levulinate acid.Due to aggregations of Al^(3+) under hydrothermal conditions,tiny amount of Al^(3+) were detected in filtrate at the percentage of 0.32%even if in absolute water.Bronsted and Lewis acids could improve the yield of ethyl levulinate and levulinate acid by synergistic effect.All results suggested that A1_2(SO_4)_3 was a simple and efficient catalyst for ethyl levulinate and levulinate acid production. | Jin Tan Qiying Liu Lungang Chen Tiejun Wang Longlong Ma Guanyi Chen | 2017 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2017,26,1: | 11 |
| 3 | Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of 300M steel produced by low and high power selective laser melting显示文摘300 M ultra-high strength steel has been widely used in critical structural components for aviation and aerospace vehicles,owing to its high strength,excellent transverse plasticity,fracture toughness and fatigue resistance.Herein,low and high power selective laser melting(SLM)of 300 M steel and their microstructural evolution and mechanical properties have been reported.The results show that the optimal energy density range with the highest relative density for SLMed 300 M steel is between 60 and160 J/mm^3.Furthermore,molten pools for deposition exhibit a conduction mode with semi-elliptical shape at a lower laser power of 300~600 W but a keyhole mode with'U'shape at a higher laser power of 800~1900 W.The heterogeneous microstructure of as-built samples is cha racterized by a skin-core structure which is that tempered troostite with the coarse non-equiaxed grains in the molten pool is wrapped by tempered sorbite with the fine equiaxed grains in the heat-affected zone.The skin-core structure of SLMed 300 M steel has the characteristics of hard inside and soft outside.The average microhardness of samples varies from 385 to 341 HV when laser power increases from 300 to 1900 W.Interestingly,ultimate tensile strength(1156-1193 MPa)and yield tensile strength(1085-1145 MPa)of dense samples fabricated at diffe rent laser powers vary marginally.But,the elongation(6.8-9.1%)of SLMed 300 M steel is greatly affected by the laser power. | Guanyi Jing Wenpu Huang Huihui Yang Zemin Wang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,13: | 5 |
| 4 | Monitoring of atmospheric radionuclides from the Fukushima nuclear accident and assessing their impact on Xi'an, China显示文摘Aerosol radionuclides (131I, 134Cs, 137Cs) and gaseous radioactive xenon (133Xe) were monitored at Xi'an, China following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011. The additional annual effective dose attributable to the Fukushima emissions was much lower than the public annual effective dose from natural radiation, according to Chinese national standards. The monitoring results were compared with data from other countries as well as with the radionuclide concentrations observed in Xi'an after the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986. Possible transport pathways of the released radionuclides from Fukushima to Xi'an were investigated. | 6 | CAPS satellite spread spectrum communication blind multi-user detecting system based on chaotic sequences显示文摘Multiple Path Interference (MPI) and Multiple Access Interference (MAI) are important factors that affect the performance of Chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS). These problems can be solved by using spreading sequences with ideal properties and multi-user detectors. Chaotic sequences based on Chebyshev map are studied and the satellite communication system model is set up to investigate the application of chaotic sequences for CAPS in this paper. Simulation results show that chaotic sequences have desirable correlation properties and it is easy to generate a large number of chaotic sequences with good security. | 8 | Effect of acupuncture treatment on smoking cessation in smokers from Hong Kong显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics of smokers treated with acupuncture for smoking cessation in Hong Kong.METHODS: A total of 2051 subjects were recruited in a clinical pilot research project 'acupuncture for smoking cessation', which was conducted jointly by Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Hong Kong Pok Oi Hospital from January of 2011 to December of 2013. The characteristics of study subjects, including baseline information, smoking background, intention to quit and influencing factors were analyzed.RESULTS: The majority of subjects treated with acupuncture for smoking cessation in Hong Kong was male(66.7%), but the proportion of female smokers in this study(33.3%) was higher than that of female smokers in Hong Kong population(13.8%, P <0.05). Subjects were at the mean age of 43.83 years old, of which the percentage of females aged 31-40 years was the highest(38.8%, P < 0.05). The mean duration of smoking was 25.49 years. The number of cigarettes smoked per day was 17.57 cigarettes.Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence(FTND)was 5.29 points. Most of the subjects had attempted quitting smoking(81.42%). The confidence index(7.44 points) and the readiness to quit smoking(8.13 points) were high. Subjects quitting smoking were mostly due to health cause(81.91%). The majority of subjects were at the level of middle school(61.63%). The higher the educational level was, the lower the tobacco dependence was and the higher the confidence in successfully quitting smoking was. 50.27% of subjects chose acupuncture for smoking cessation mainly through friends, television and network publicity. Subjects who had received acupuncture had the highest confidence index, while those who wanted to try a new method had the lower confidence index.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture for smoking cessation was more popular in female smokers, especially those aged 31-40 years. | 9 | Non-linear acoustic radiation by an underwater vibrating spherical shell显示文摘This paper deals with the non-linear propagation of sound waves radiated by a thin spherical shell vibrating in ideal lluid. Non-linear sound field is obtained by the method of renormalization proposed by Kelly and Nayfeh. Considering the acoustic load, we use Junger and his cooperators’ spherical function expan8ion to obtain the structural response of the spherical shell. By combining both of the above methods, the structural response, the waveshape before the formation of shock wave and the first two order waves (including the 1st and 2nd harmonics, sum and difference frequency waves) are calculated respectively. They vary with frequency, distance and directions. | 11 | Review of ionospheric irregularities and ionospheric electrodynamic coupling in the middle latitude region显示文摘This paper briefly reviews ionospheric irregularities that occur in the E and F regions at mid-latitudes. Sporadic E(ES) is a common ionospheric irregularity phenomenon that is first noticed in the E layer. ES mainly appears during daytime in summer hemispheres, and is formed primarily from neutral wind shear in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere(MLT) region. Field-aligned irregularity(FAI) in the E region is also observed by Very High Frequency(VHF) radar in mid-latitude regions. FAI frequently occurs after sunset in summer hemispheres, and spectrum features of E region FAI echoes suggest that type-2 irregularity is dominant in the nighttime ionosphere. A close relationship between ES and E region FAI implies that ES may be a possible source of E region FAI in the nighttime ionosphere. Strong neutral wind shear, steep ES plasma density gradient, and a polarized electric field are the significant factors affecting the formation of E region FAI. At mid-latitudes, joint observational experiments including ionosonde, VHF radar, Global Positioning System(GPS) stations, and all-sky optical images have revealed strong connections across different scales of ionospheric irregularities in the nighttime F region, such as spread F(SF), medium-scale traveling ionospheric disturbances(MSTID), and F region FAI.Observations suggest that different scales of ionospheric irregularities are generally attributed to the Perkins instability and subsequently excited gradient drift instability. Nighttime MSTID can further evolve into small-scale structures through a nonlinear cascade process when a steep plasma density gradient exists at the bottom of the F region. In addition, the effect of ionospheric electrodynamic coupling processes, including ionospheric E-F coupling and inter-hemispheric coupling on the generation of ionospheric irregularities, becomes more prominent due to the significant dip angle and equipotentiality of magnetic field lines in the mid-latitude ionosphere. Polarized electric fields can map to different ionospheric regions and excite plasma instabilities which form ionospheric irregularities.
