Effect of dry density on ^(125)I diffusion in GMZ bentonite显示文摘Gaomiaozi(GMZ) bentonite is regarded as the favorable candidate backfilling material for a potential repository in China. It is important to understand the diffusion behavior of 125 I in GMZ bentonite and compare the diffusion behavior in GMZ and other types of bentonite like MX-80,Avonlea,etc.Therefore,through-and out-diffusion experiments were conducted to obtain the effective diffusion coefficient(D e) and distribution coefficient(K d).A computer code named Fitting for diffusion coefficient(FDP) was used for the experimental data processing and theoretical modeling. At the dry density of GMZ bentonite from 1600-2000 kg/m 3,the D e values of 125 I were(2.4-20.4) × 10-12 m 2 /s and K d values were constants. At dry density above 1800 kg/m 3,the diffusion behaviors were almost the same, indicating that the anion exclusion was ineffective.Out-diffusion results showed that the species of 125 I may be changed during the diffusion processing. It was probably caused by some organic matters or reducing substances in GMZ bentonite.Since the main composition of bentonite is montmorillonite, similar diffusion parameters were obtained in GMZ and other types of bentonite. The relationship of D e and accessible porosity(acc) could be described by Archie's law with exponent n = 1.2-2.8 for 125 I diffusion in bentonite, whereas n = 2.0 in GMZ bentonite.Furthermore, bentonite with the dry density of 1800 kg/m 3 was proposed as the backfilling materials used in the construction of high level radioactivity waste repository. | WU Tao LI JinYing DAI Wei XIAO GuoPing SHU FuJun YAO Jun SU YuLan SHI Lei | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,9: | 11

MicroRNAs in heart and circulation during physical exercise显示文摘Exercise training is beneficial to the cardiovascular system. MicroRNAs(miRNAs, miRs) are a class of conserved non-coding RNAs and play a wide-ranging role in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression. Exercise training alters the expression levels of large amounts of miRNAs in the heart. In addition, circulating miRNAs appear to be regulated by exercise training. In this review, we will summarize recent advances in the regulation of miRNAs during physical exercise intervention in various cardiovascular diseases, including pathologic cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial fibrosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. The regulatory role of circulating miRNAs after exercise training was also reviewed. In conclusion, miRNAs might be a valuable target for treatment of cardiovascular diseases and have great potential as biomarkers for assessment of physical performance. | Lijun Wang Yicheng Lv Guoping Li Junjie Xiao | 2018 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2018,7,4: | 7
A fractal study for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer of nanofluids显示文摘In this paper, a fractal model for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer of nanofluids is developed based on the fractal distribution of nanoparticles and nucleation sites on boiling surfaces. The model shows the dependences of the heat flux on nanoparticle size and the nanoparticle volume fraction of the suspension, the fractal dimension of the nanoparticle and nucleation site, temperature of nanofluids and properties of fluids. The fractal model predictions show that the natural convection stage continues relatively longer in the case of nanofluids. The addition of nanoparticles causes a decrease of the pool nucleate boiling heat transfer. The nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficient is decreased by increasing particle concentration. An excellent agreement between the proposed model predictions and experimental data is found. The validity of the fractal model for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer is thus verified. | XIAO BoQi 1 , JIANG GuoPing 2 & CHEN LingXia 1 1 Department of Physics and Electromechanical Engineering, Sanming University, Sanming 365004, China 2 Earthquake Engineering Research Test Center, Guangzhou University, Guangzhou 510405, China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,1: | 6
Local Bifurcation Analysis of a Delayed Fractional-order Dynamic Model of Dual Congestion Control Algorithms显示文摘In this paper, we propose a delayed fractional-order congestion control model which is more accurate than the original integer-order model when depicting the dual congestion control algorithms. The presence of fractional orders requires the use of suitable criteria which usually make the analytical work so harder. Based on the stability theorems on delayed fractionalorder differential equations, we study the issue of the stability and bifurcations for such a model by choosing the communication delay as the bifurcation parameter. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, some explicit conditions for the local stability of the equilibrium are given for the delayed fractionalorder model of congestion control algorithms. Moreover, the Hopf bifurcation conditions for general delayed fractional-order systems are proposed. The existence of Hopf bifurcations at the equilibrium is established. The critical values of the delay are identified, where the Hopf bifurcations occur and a family of oscillations bifurcate from the equilibrium. Same as the delay, the fractional order normally plays an important role in the dynamics of delayed fractional-order systems. It is found that the critical value of Hopf bifurcations is crucially dependent on the fractional order. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the main results. | Min Xiao Guoping Jiang Jinde Cao Weixing Zheng | 2017 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2017,4,2: | 5
Exercise-mediated regulation of autophagy in the cardiovascular system显示文摘Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of human death worldwide. Autophagy is an evolutionarily conserved degradation pathway, which is a highly conserved cellular degradation process in which lysosomes decompose their own organelles and recycle the resulting macromolecules.Autophagy is critical in maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis and function, and excessive or insufficient autophagy or autophagic flux can lead to cardiovascular disease. Enormous evidence indicates that exercise training plays a beneficial role in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The regulation of autophagy during exercise is a bidirectional process. For cardiovascular disease caused by either insufficient or excessive autophagy, exercise training restores normal autophagy function and delays the progression of cardiovascular disease. An in-depth exploration and discussion of exercise-mediated regulation of autophagy in the cardiovascular system can broaden our view about the prevention of various autophagy-related diseases through exercise training. In this article, we review autophagy and its related signaling pathways,as well as autophagy-dependent beneficial effects of exercise in cardiovascular system. | Lijun Wang Jiaqi Wang Dragos Cretoiu Guoping Li Junjie Xiao | 2020 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2020,9,3: | 3
Dispersion engineering and measurement in crystalline microresonators using a fiber ring etalon显示文摘Dispersion engineering and measurement are significant for nonlinear photonic applications using whispering gallery mode microresonators.Specifically, the Kerr microresonator frequency comb as an important example has attracted a great amount of interest in research fields due to the potential capability of full integration on a chip.A simple and cost-efficient way for dispersion measurements is thereby in high demand for designing such a microcomb device. Here,we report a dispersion measurement approach using a fiber ring etalon reference. The free spectral range of the etalon is first measured through sideband modulation, and the dispersion of the etalon is inferred by binary function fitting during the dispersion measurement. This method is demonstrated on two MgF_(2) disk resonators.Experimental results show good agreement with numerical simulations using the finite element method.Dispersion engineering on such resonators is also numerically investigated. | XIAOBAO ZHANG GUOPING LIN TANG SUN QINGHAI SONG GUANGZONG XIAO HUI LUO | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,11: | 2

Radio-frequency measurement in semiconductor quantum computation显示文摘Semiconductor quantum dots have attracted wide interest for the potential realization of quantum computation. To realize efficient quantum computation, fast manipulation and the corresponding readout are necessary. In the past few decades, considerable progress of quantum manipulation has been achieved experimentally. To meet the requirements of high-speed readout,radio-frequency(RF)measurement has been developed in recent years, such as RF-QPC(radio-frequency quantum point contact)and RF-DGS(radio-frequency dispersive gate sensor). Here we specifically demonstrate the principle of the radio-frequency refiectometry, then review the development and applications of RF measurement, which provides a feasible way to achieve high-bandwidth readout in quantum coherent control and also enriches the methods to study these artificial mesoscopic quantum systems. Finally,we prospect the future usage of radio-frequency refiectometry in scaling-up of the quantum computing models. | TianYi Han MingBo Chen Gang Cao HaiOu Li Ming Xiao GuoPing Guo | 2017 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,5: | 2
Exercise sustains the hallmarks of health显示文摘Exercise has long been known for its active role in improving physical fitness and sustaining health.Regular moderate-intensity exercise improves all aspects of human health and is widely accepted as a preventative and therapeutic strategy for various diseases. It is well-documented that exercise maintains and restores homeostasis at the organismal, tissue, cellular, and molecular levels to stimulate positive physiological adaptations that consequently protect against various pathological conditions. Here we mainly summarize how moderate-intensity exercise affects the major hallmarks of health, including the integrity of barriers, containment of local perturbations, recycling and turnover, integration of circuitries, rhythmic oscillations, homeostatic resilience, hormetic regulation,as well as repair and regeneration.Furthermore,we summarize the current understanding of the mechanisms responsible for beneficial adaptations in response to exercise. This review aimed at providing a comprehensive summary of the vital biological mechanisms through which moderate-intensity exercise maintains health and opens a window for its application in other health interventions. We hope that continuing investigation in this field will further increase our understanding of the processes involved in the positive role of moderate-intensity exercise and thus get us closer to the identification of new therapeutics that improve quality of life. | Yan Qiu Benjamin Fernández-García H.Immo Lehmann Guoping Li Guido Kroemer Carlos López-Otín Junjie Xiao | 2023 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2023,12,1: | 1

Exercise training maintains cardiovascular health:signaling pathways involved and potential therapeutics显示文摘Exercise training has been widely recognized as a healthy lifestyle as well as an effective non-drug therapeutic strategy for cardiovascular diseases(CVD).Functional and mechanistic studies that employ animal exercise models as well as observational and interventional cohort studies with human participants, have contributed considerably in delineating the essential signaling pathways by which exercise promotes cardiovascular fitness and health.First, this review summarizes the beneficial impact of exercise on multiple aspects of cardiovascular health. We then discuss in detail the signaling pathways mediating exercise’s benefits for cardiovascular health. The exercise-regulated signaling cascades have been shown to confer myocardial protection and drive systemic adaptations. The signaling molecules that are necessary for exercise-induced physiological cardiac hypertrophy have the potential to attenuate myocardial injury and reverse cardiac remodeling.Exercise-regulated noncoding RNAs and their associated signaling pathways are also discussed in detail for their roles and mechanisms in exercise-induced cardioprotective effects. Moreover,we address the exercise-mediated signaling pathways and molecules that can serve as potential therapeutic targets ranging from pharmacological approaches to gene therapies in CVD.We also discuss multiple factors that influence exercise’s effect and highlight the importance and need for further investigations regarding the exercise-regulated molecules as therapeutic targets and biomarkers for CVD as well as the cross talk between the heart and other tissues or organs during exercise. We conclude that a deep understanding of the signaling pathways involved in exercise’s benefits for cardiovascular health will undoubtedly contribute to the identification and development of novel therapeutic targets and strategies for CVD. | Huihua Chen Chen Chen Michail Spanos Guoping Li Rong Lu Yihua Bei Junjie Xiao | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,10: | 1
Use of recycled gypsum in the cement-based stabilization of very soft clays and its micro-mechanism显示文摘This paper presents an experimental study and micro-mechanism discussion on gypsum role in the mechanical improvements of cement-based stabilized clay(CBSC).A soft marine clay at two initial water contents(i.e.50%and 70%)was treated by reconstituted cementitious binders with varying gypsum to clinker(G/C)ratios and added metakaolin to facilitate the formation of ettringite, followed by the measurements of final water contents, dry densities and strengths in accordance with ASTM standards as well as microstructure by mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Results reveal that the gypsum fraction has a significant influence on the index and mechanical properties of the CBSC,and there exists a threshold of the G/C ratio, which is 10%and 15%for clays with 50%and 70%initial water contents, respectively.Beyond which adding excessive gypsum cannot improve the strength further, eliminating the beneficial role.At these thresholds of the G/C ratio, the unconfined compressive strength(UCS)values for clays with 50%and 70%initial water contents are 1.74 MPa and 1.53 MPa at 60 d of curing, respectively.Microstructure characterization shows that, besides the common cementation-induced strengthening, newly formed ettringite also acts as significant pore infills, and the associated remarkable volumetric expansion is responsible, and may be the primary factor, for the beneficial strength gain due to the added gypsum.Moreover,pore-filling ettringite also leads to the conversion of relatively large inter-aggregate to smaller intra-aggregate pores, thereby causing a more homogeneous matrix or solid skeleton with higher strength.Overall, added gypsum plays a vital beneficial role in the strength development of the CBSC,especially for very soft clays. | Jun Wu Li Liu Yongfeng Deng Guoping Zhang Annan Zhou Henglin Xiao | 2022 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,3: | 1
