6Urban food-energy-water nexus:a case study in Beijing显示文摘Food,energy and water(FEW)are indispensable,irreplaceable and safeguarding resources with tangled interlinkages among each other,often framed in terms of‘nexus’.Cities have become the bustling hubs of resource consumption and production,facing the most intense stress.Globally,food security,fresh water shortage and fossil energy exhaustion have become the greatest challenge for the sustainable development of cities in the future.Systematic analysis and simulation of dynamic evolution of urban FEW demand and supply and its nexus would add significant and practical value for macro-management such as ensuring the security of urban resource.Taking Beijing as the case study,we established a dynamic model for the FEW demand and supply from the perspective of cross-ectoral and cross-regional nexus with the Stella modelling platform,then it was run for simulating the dynamic changes and nexus characteristics of FEW during the interval between 2016 and 2035.The results showed that:①The gap between local production and demand of these three resources in Beijing will continue to increase.In 2035,Beijing will need 2.16 million tons of grain,0.83 million tons of meat,4.6 billion m3 of water and 91.65 million tons of standard coal of energy while the resources produced and supplied by locality independently will be 0.21 million tons,0.23 million tons,3.3 billion cubic meters and 16.5 million tons of standard coal respectively.Beijing has to draw on cross-boundary production to meet FEW-use with the increasing gap between local supply and demand.②There is a developing trend of the absolute quantity of interaction among FEW.Structurally,the‘outsourcing’feature is obvious and the indigenous nexus links of three resources are shifting to back-end supply chain such as transportation and treatment.③The change of nexus indexes are mainly affected by the mutual and strong dependence between food and water.Food and energy depend more and more on each other;in contrast,the inter-relationship between water and energy is more stable.In addition,inter-regional FEW nexus is strengthened.④To improve systematic management of urban resources,we need to capture multi-tradeoffs of the FEW system comprehensively and establish a multi-regional and multi-factor integrated and collaborative resource management mechanism.Xinqing Li Lixiao Zhang Pengpeng Zhang Yan Hao Xin Xiong 2021Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2021,19,3:1

11Model test and numerical simulation of a new prefabricated double-row piles retaining system in silty clay ground显示文摘This paper introduces a new prefabricated recyclable double-row piles retaining system for excavations in silty clay ground.Laboratory model test and numerical simulation are conducted to study the system behavior upon excavation.The horizontal displacement(δ_(h)),Von Mises stress(δ_(M)),strain(ε),ground surface settlement(δ_(v)),and earth pressure are systematically investigated.Furthermore,the monitoring data of 13 excavation cases supported by double-row piles retaining system are presented and discussed.The experimental results can basically match the numerical results,and the maximumδ_(M),maximum bending moment(M_(max)),maximum horizontal displacement(δ_(hm))of structural members are all less than the tolerance limits.The ground surface settlement model of double-row piles retaining system consists of three zones,i.e.,rebound influence zone,primary influence zone and secondary influence zone.The dhm values are 0.07%–1.42%of the excavation depth(He).The maximum ground surface settlement(δ_(vm))is generally less than dhm.The ratio ofδ_(vm)=δ_(hm)varies between 0.09 and 0.76,with an average value of 0.5.The observed earth pressure on the retained side of front pile(paf)is about 0.53–0.57γH below the excavation surface.Above the excavation surface,p_(af)decreases dramatically when getting closer to the ground surface.Ruisong Wang Hao Yang Pengpeng Ni Chenyang Zhao Chengchao Guo Huihuan Ma Pu Dong Huqing Liang Mengxiong Tang 2023Underground Space2023,,6:0

13Highly selective and efficient photocatalytic NO removal:Charge carrier kinetics and interface molecular process显示文摘The widespread nitrogen oxides(NOx,mainly in NO)in the atmosphere have threatened human health and ecological environment.The dilute NO(ppb)is difficult to efficiently remove via the traditional process due to its characteristics of low concentration,wide range,large total amount,etc.Photocatalysis can utilize solar energy to purify NO pollutants under mild conditions,but its application is limited due to the low selectivity of nitrate and poor activity of NO removal.The underlying reason is that the interface mechanism of NO oxidation is not clearly understood,which leads to the inability to accurately regulate the NO oxidation process.Herein,the recent advances in the photocatalytic oxidation of NO are summarized.Firstly,the common strategies to effectively regulate carrier dynamics such as morphology control,facet engineering,defect engineering,plasma coupling,heterojunction and single-atom catalysts are discussed.Secondly,the progress of enhancing the adsorption and activation of reactants such as NO and O_(2) during NO oxidation is described in detail,and the corresponding NO oxidation mechanisms are enumerated.Finally,the challenges and prospects of photocatalytic NO oxidation are presented in term of nanotechnology for air pollution control.This review can shed light on the interface mechanism of NO oxidation and provide illuminating information on designing novel catalysts for efficient NOx control.Huan Shang Hongbao Jia Pengpeng Li Hao Li Wenbin Zhang Shuangjun Li Qing Wang Shuning Xiao Ding Wang Guisheng Li Dieqing Zhang 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
