6Distribution and origin of high magnetic anomalies at Luobusa Ophiolite in Southern Tibet显示文摘The Luobusa Ophiolite,Southern Tibet,lies in the eastern portion of Indus–Yarlung Zangbo suture zone that separates Eurasia from the Indian continent.An aeromagnetic reconnaissance survey has revealed an EWtrending Yarlung Zangbo River aeromagnetic anomaly zone,and it is considered to be caused mainly by the Indus–Yarlung Zangbo Ophiolite.The Luobusa Ophiolite reflects the eastern portion of the Yarlung Zangbo River aeromagnetic anomaly zone.Conventionally,the ultramafic rock in the Luobusa Ophiolite is considered as the origin of the high magnetic anomalies.However,results from the surface magnetic survey and the magnetic susceptibility measurements from drill cores indicate that the high magnetic anomalies are distributed inhomogeneously in the Luobusa Ophiolite.In some cases,the susceptibility exhibits more than 30 times difference between two sides of the same sample.A fact emerged that the susceptibility of dunite with serpentinization is higher than that of fresh dunite,harzburgite and chromite when we analyzed the measurement results.In order to understand the origin of the high magnetic anomalies,we measured the density and susceptibility of 17 samples,microscopic and electron probe analyses have been performed as well.The result indicates the presence of dunite with serpentinization containing an abundant of micro-fissures filled with magnetite.Olivine has a susceptibility of about 2.7–351(910-5SI),pyroxene about 16–320,and chromite about200–800.All these units feature relatively low susceptibility in ultramafic rock,and only the magnetite is characterized by a high susceptibility of about 200,000(910-5SI).Based on these observations,we conclude that the precipitation of magnetite in the process of serpentinization of the olivine caused by the geological process in the Luobusa Ophiolite is the origin of high magnetic anomalies.Lanfang He Xiumian Hu Yabing Zha Ligui Xu Yaohui Wang 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,23:2
7Lithospheric structures across the Qiman Tagh and western Qaidam Basin revealed by magnetotelluric data collected using a self-developed SEP system显示文摘Geophysics offers an important means to investigate the physical processes occurring inside the earth.In particular,since the 1960s,electromagnetic(EM)methods have played important roles in mineral exploration and engineering investigation.Such investigation requires extensive data acquisition and experimental analysis based on geophysical techniques.However,high-performance geophysical equipment,particularly EM exploration equipment,has been dominated by large geophysical companies from the United States,Canada,Germany,and other European countries for decades.This has limited the development of deep exploration technology in China.Recently,we have developed a high-resolution acquisition system with a wireless control unit and a high-power transmitting system for surface EM prospecting(SEP).The new system has been tested in the high-intensity,noisy environment in Jian-sanjiang area,Heilongjiang Province.We then conducted a field survey on the western edge of Qaidam Basin,Qinghai Province.A highly conductive anomaly was found in the upper mantle below the Qinmantage Mountains,which indicates a possible northward fluid channel that runs from below the Qinmantage Mountains to the bottom of the western crust of the Qaidam Basin.Identification of this significant feature was made possible by the new SEP for its better resolution than the previous systems.Also,geophysical analysis confirmed that the thick Cenozoic sediments of the Qaidam Basin are underlain by rigid Precambrian basement rocks and are characterized by a series of folds.The resistivity profile indicates that the Qaidam Basin was formed due to the folding structures in the northern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau which provided an additional evidence for the uplifting of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Qingyun DI Guoqiang XUE Zhongxing WANG Lanfang HE Renzhong PEI Tianxin ZHANG Guangyou FANG 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,10:2

10Relationship Between Electrical Properties and Sedimentary Environment of the Longmaxi Formation Shale,Southern Sichuan显示文摘The Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation in the south of Sichuan is a key player in the exploration and development of shale gas in China.Due to a highly complex topographic area,electromagnetic methods(EM)become important exploration means in this area.Many studies have been conducted on the shale mineral composition and electrical properties of shale,however,the correlation between sedimentary environments and the electrical properties of shale remain poorly understood.The electrical properties and sedimentary environment of the organic-rich shale of the Longmaxi Formation have been studied by means of X-ray diffraction,organic geochemistry,scanning electron microscopy and complex resistivity measurements.The discovered high quartz content of the Longmaxi Formation shale results in low resistivity.Deep-water shelf biogenic quartz contributes lower resistivity more than that of shallow-water terrigenous quartz.The deep-water anoxic and organic sedimentary environment led to major enrichment of pyrite,leading to a high polarization effect in shale.We present the correlation between the lithofacies types and electrical properties of Longmaxi Formation.The mixed siliceous shale lithofacies is the most favorable among the three lithofacies,which is characterized by high total organic carbon(TOC)content,high brittleness mineral content,high polarization and low resistivity('three high and one low').This feature is an effective identification of shale gas reservoirs by electromagnetic prospecting.Our study can provide constraints on electrical parameters of rocks for electromagnetic'sweet spot'exploration of shale gas,and so this has important geological significance to shale gas exploration and development.YANG Kai ZHANG Bing WANG Xuben HE Lanfang YANG Hongyu WANG Pengwan TANG Jialin DENG Jixin ZHANG Cong 2020Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,5:0
11Lin28a maintains a subset of adult muscle stem cells in an embryonic-like state显示文摘During homeostasis and after injury,adult muscle stem cells(MuSCs)activate to mediate muscle regeneration.However,much remains unclear regarding the heterogeneous capacity of MuSCs for self-renewal and regeneration.Here,we show that Lin28a is expressed in embryonic limb bud muscle progenitors,and that a rare reserve subset of Lin28a^(+)Pax7^(-)skeletal MuSCs can respond to injury at adult stage by replenishing the Pax7^(+)MuSC pool to drive muscle regeneration.Compared with adult Pax7^(+)MuSCs,Lin28a^(+)MuSCs displayed enhanced myogenic potency in vitro and in vivo upon transplantation.The epigenome of adult Lin28a^(+)MuSCs showed resemblance to embryonic muscle progenitors.In addition,RNA-sequencing revealed that Lin28a^(+)MuSCs co-expressed higher levels of certain embryonic limb bud transcription factors,telomerase components and the p53 inhibitor Mdm4,and lower levels of myogenic differentiation markers compared to adult Pax7^(+)MuSCs,resulting in enhanced self-renewal and stress-response signatures.Functionally,conditional ablation and induction of Lin28a^(+)MuSCs in adult mice revealed that these cells are necessary and sufficient for efficient muscle regeneration.Together,our findings connect the embryonic factor Lin28a to adult stem cell self-renewal and juvenile regeneration.Peng Wang Xupeng Liu Ziyue Yao Yu Chen Lanfang Luo Kun Liang Jun-Hao Elwin Tan Min-Wen Jason Chua Yan-Jiang Benjamin Chua Shilin Ma Liping Zhang Wenwu Ma Shuqing Liu Wenhua Cao Luyao Guo Lu Guang Yuefan Wang He Zhao Na Ai Yun Li Chunwei Li Ruiqi Rachel Wang Bin Tean Teh Lan Jiang Kang Yu Ng Shyh-Chang 2023Cell Research2023,33,9:0
12From agricultural cellulosic waste to food delivery packaging: A mini-review显示文摘The growing food delivery service market has boosted the consumption of packaging materials, and this trend is projected to continue in the following years. The gap between industrial supply and consumer demand from a sustainable viewpoint leads to a need for agricultural cellulosic waste-based materials that bring the idea of trash-to-treasure to fruition. In this paper, we review up-to-date advancements surrounding the food delivery packaging that are derived from agricultural cellulosic waste. Two scenarios in which agricultural feedstock is used as a host or guest material are summarized, and sketch on the individual processing routine is depicted. We further evaluate how the chemical compositions and processing parameters influence the properties of the final products.
