| 1 | Structure and function of rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil microbial community respond differently to elevated ozone in field-planted wheat显示文摘To assess the responses of the soil microbial community to chronic ozone(O_3), wheat seedlings(Triticum aestivum Linn.) were planted in the field and exposed to elevated O_3(e O_3)concentration. Three treatments were employed:(1) Control treatment(CK), AOT40 = 0;(2) O_3-1, AOT40 = 1.59 ppm·h;(3) O_3-2, AOT40 = 9.17 ppm·h. Soil samples were collected for the assessment of microbial biomass C, community-level physiological profiles(CLPPs), and phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs). EO_3 concentration significantly reduced soil microbial carbon and changed microbial CLPPs in rhizosphere soil, but not in non-rhizosphere soil.The results of the PLFAs showed that e O_3 concentrations had significant effects on soil community structure in both rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soils. The relative abundances of fungal and actinomycetous indicator PLFAs decreased in both rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soils, while those of bacterial PLFAs increased. It is considered as a capital city site with the rudiment of an early country in Longshan Times. In this work, the black pottery coating was found on the surface of black and grey pottery of Longshan times and confirmed by scientific studies for the first time. It filled in the blank of pottery coating study in this time period at the Yellow River Valley, as well as supplied a new study method of 'black skin pottery' besides the carburization craft. | 3 | In situ self-assembled organoid for osteochondral tissue regeneration with dual functional units显示文摘The regeneration of hierarchical osteochondral units is challenging due to difficulties in inducing spatial,directional and controllable differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)into cartilage and bone compartments.Emerging organoid technology offers new opportunities for osteochondral regeneration.In this study,we developed gelatin-based microcryogels customized using hyaluronic acid(HA)and hydroxyapatite(HYP),respectively for inducing cartilage and bone regeneration(denoted as CH-Microcryogels and OS-Microcryogels)through in vivo self-assembly into osteochondral organoids.The customized microcryogels showed good cytocompatibility and induced chondrogenic and osteogenic differentiation of MSCs,while also demonstrating the ability to self-assemble into osteochondral organoids with no delamination in the biphasic cartilage-bone structure.Analysis by mRNA-seq showed that CH-Microcryogels promoted chondrogenic differentiation and inhibited inflammation,while OS-Microcryogels facilitated osteogenic differentiation and suppressed the immune response,by regulating specific signaling pathways.Finally,the in vivo engraftment of pre-differentiated customized microcryogels into canine osteochondral defects resulted in the spontaneous assembly of an osteochondral unit,inducing simultaneous regeneration of both articular cartilage and subchondral bone.In conclusion,this novel approach for generating self-assembling osteochondral organoids utilizing tailor-made microcryogels presents a highly promising avenue for advancing the field of tissue engineering. | Zhen Yang Bin Wang Wei Liu Xiaoke Li Kaini Liang Zejun Fan Jiao Jiao Li Yudi Niu Zihao He Hui Li Du Wang Jianjing Lin Yanan Du Jianhao Lin Dan Xing | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,9: | 2 |

| 5 | Follow-up evaluation with ultrasonography of peripheral nerve injuries after an earthquake显示文摘Published data on earthquake-associated peripheral nerve injury is very limited. Ultrasonography has been proven to be efficient in the clinic to diagnose peripheral nerve injury. The aim of this study was to assess the role of ultrasound in the evaluation of persistent peripheral nerve injuries 1 year after the Wenchuan earthquake. Thirty-four patients with persistent clinical symptoms and neurologic signs of impaired nerve function were evaluated with sonography prior to surgical repair. Among 34 patients, ultrasonography showed that 48 peripheral nerves were entrapped, and 11 peripheral nerves were disrupted. There was one case of misdiagnosis on ultrasonography. The concordance rate of ultrasonographic findings with those of surgical findings was 98%. A total of 48 involved nerves underwent neurolysis and the symptoms resolved. Only five nerves had scar tissue entrapment. | 6 | Source diagnostic and weathering indicators of oil spills utilizing bicyclic sesquiterpanes显示文摘Bicyclic Sesquiterpanes (BSs) are ubiquitous components of crude oils and ancient sediments. BSs in crude oils and diesel oil were identified and characterized, the effects of moderate weathering on BS distributions were discussed, and a methodology using diagnostic indices of BSs was developed for oil correlation and differentiation. The results showed that crude oils and oil products had different abundances and distributions of BSs and, consequently, resulted in different diagnostic ratios. The selected diagnostic ratio indices of BSs, such as BS4/BS5 (ratio of 4,4,8,9,9-pentamethyl-decahydronaphthalene to 8β (H)-drimane), BS6/BS5 (ratio of 4,4,9,9,10-pentamethyl-decahydronaphthalene to 8β (H)-drimane), BS8/BS9 (ratio of the second peak to the third peak of C 16 sequiterpane), and BS8/BS10 (ratio of C 16 sequiterpane to 8β (H)-homodrimane), still maintained better stabilities (%RSD < 5%) after weathering for 30 d. The longer weathering process (150 d) had some effect on such ratios (5% < %RSD < 10%). | 8 | The coral-inspired steam evaporator for efficient solar desalination via porous and thermal insulation bionic design显示文摘The solar-driven interfacial evaporation(SIE)technology shows great prospects in seawater desalination and sewage treatment,but it is unable to obtain highly efficient and high-quality clean nontoxic water at low cost.Here,a novel biodegradable hydrogel-based solar evaporator(BBH-L)with a bionic coral structure taking Chinese ink as the solar absorber was developed.This evaporator consists of chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel and a loofah substrate.The average evaporation rate and efficiency of BBH-L reach 4.37 kg/(m^(2)·h)and 98.2%,respectively,under one sun illumination(1 kW/m^(2)),which are attributed to its excellent thermal localization and water transporting abilities.Meanwhile,high salt resistance enables BBH-L to achieve efficient desalination and purification of other unconventional water.Heavy metal ions in seawater can be effectively removed by chelation and forming hydrogen bonds in hydrogels.This study is anticipated to provide new possibilities to enhance evaporation performance and reduce the costs of water treatment systems. | He Zhang Xiaoke Li Size Zheng Jin Wen Jiaying Zhou Rui Yang Wenmei Luo Liu Yang Xiaohu Wu | 2023 | SmartMat2023,4,6: | 0 |
