1Effects of sludge dredging on the prevention and control of algae-caused black bloom in Taihu Lake,China显示文摘Algae-caused black bloom (also known as black water agglomerate) has recently become a critical problem in some Chinese lakes.It has been suggested that the occurrence of algae-caused black bloom was caused by the cooperation of nutrient-rich sediment with dead algae,and sludge dredging was adopted to control black bloom in some lakes of China.In this article,based on the simulation of black bloom using a Y-shape apparatus for modeling natural conditions,both un-dredged and dredged sites in three areas of Taihu Lake,China were studied to estimate the effects of dredging on the prevention and control of black bloom.During the experiment,drained algae were added to all six sites as an additional organic load;subsequently,the dissolved oxygen decreased rapidly,dropping to 0 mg/L at the sediment-water interface.Black bloom did not occur in the dredged sites of Moon Bay and Nan Quan,whereas all three un-dredged sites at Fudu Port,Moon Bay and Nan Quan experienced black bloom.Black bloom also occurred at the dredged site of Fudu Port one day later than at the other sites,and the odor and color were lighter than at the other locations.The color and odor of the black water mainly result from the presence of sulfides such as metal sulfides and hydrogen sulfide,among other chemicals,under reductive conditions.The color and odor of the water,together with the high concentrations of nutrients,were mainly caused by the decomposition of the algae and the presence of nutrient-rich sediment.Overall,the removal of the nutrient-rich sediment by dredging can prevent the occurrence and control the degree of algae-caused black bloom in Taihu Lake.Wei He Jingge Shang Xin Lu Chengxin Fan 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:30
2Stability of Ultra-fine Microstructures during Tempering显示文摘The stability of ultra-fine microstructure during tempering at 650℃ was investigated on a Nb-containing steel. The steel had undergone 5 passes controlled rolling, then was relaxed (air cooled) to 730 ℃ and cooled in water The evolution of microstructure was that, in early stage of tempering, no obvious change was detected by means of optical microscopy while dislocation cells were formed inside bainitic laths. With further tempering, bainitic laths started to coalesce in some regions. Finally, polygonal ferrite was formed while hardness decreased dramatically. Some samples taken from the same primary plate were reheated at 930 ℃for 0.5 h followed by quenching into water before tempering. Despite their lower original hardness, the reheated samples softened faster during tempering. Ferrite was quickly formed in the reheated samples. 3Relaxation of Deformed Austenite and Refinement of Bainite in a Nb-Containing Microalloyed Steel显示文摘By means of stress relaxation and strain-induced precipitation in deformed austenite, bainite with micron sheaves size was ob-tained in Nb-containing steel. Microstructures of deformed samples isothermally relaxed for various time followed by cooling in water were examined. Stress relaxation test and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to detect precipitation of microalloy elements, such as Nb, Ti, during isothermal holding after deformation. All the samples were constituted by lath-like bainite along with acicular ferrite, but the size of bainitic sheaves and the amount of acicular ferrite were changed with relaxation time. To achieve optimum refinement, relaxation should be confined in the stage when the precipitates have sufficiently grown and started to coarsen. The sample having not undergone relaxation does not exhibit obvious refinement despite of its higher dislocation density. 4A Special TMCP Used to Develop a 800MPa Grade HSLA Steel显示文摘The effect of relaxation after finished rolling on structures and properties of four microalloyed steel with different content of Nb and Ti was investigated. By alloy designing and control rolling + relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC) process, a new 800 MPa grade HSLA plate steel could be obtained, the microstructure is composite ultra- fine lath bainite/martensite. The tempering process and mechanical properties of this kind of HSLA steel were investigated. 5Refinement of packet size in low carbon bainitic steel by special thermo-mechanical control process显示文摘The packet size of bainitic steel can be refined by a special relaxation-precipitation-control phase transformation (RPC)technology. When processed by RPC process, the low carbon bainitic steel composes of two kinds of main intermediate transformation phases. One is ultra-fine lath-like bainitic ferrite and the lath is less than 1 μm in width and about 6 μm in length; the alignment of laths forms a refined packet, and the size of packets is about 5-7 μm in length and about 3-4 μm in width. The other is acicular structure. The morphology and distribution of these acicular structures are influenced by relaxation process, the thin and short acicular structures cut the prior austenite grain and refine the bainitic packet size. For the optimum relaxation time, the packet size can be refined to the finest. 6Seasonal pattern of Echinococcus re-infection in owned dogs in Tibetan communities of Sichuan, China and its implications for control显示文摘Background:Human cystic echinococcosis(CE)and alveolar echinococcosis(AE)are highly endemic in Tibetan communities of Sichuan Province.Previous research in the region indicated that domestic dog was the major source of human infection,and observations indicated that domestic dog could have more access to intermediate hosts of Echinococcus spp.:both domestic livestock(CE)viscera and small mammals(AE),in early winter and again in spring.We hypothesized that there would therefore be a significant increase in the risk of canine infection with Echinococcus spp.in these two seasons and conducted a reinfection study to investigate this further.Methods:Faecal samples were collected from owned dogs in seven townships in Ganze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture(Sichuan Province,China),and Echinococcus spp.infection status was determined using copro-antigen ELISA.Dogs were sampled in April(spring),July(early summer),September/October(autumn/early winter)and December(winter)in 2009;and in April(spring)2010.Dogs were treated with praziquantel following each of the five sample collections to eliminate any tapeworms.Information on dog sex,age and body weight was also collected.The t-test,Fisher’s exact test,Poisson regression and logistic regression were used to compare means and prevalences,and to identify factors associated with infection status.Results:The proportion of female dogs was significantly lower than that of male dogs;female dogs had significantly higher(22.78%)baseline copro-ELISA prevalence than males(11.88%).Dog body weight,sex,age,county and previous infection status at any sampling point had no influence on the re-infection prevalence in general.Poisson regression did not found a significant influence on the re-infection prevalence due to different deworming/sampling time spans.Dogs exhibited significantly higher re-infection prevalences in spring and early summer of 2009 and in early winter between September/October and December of 2009,suggesting a higher infection pressure in these seasons comparing with other seasons.Conclusion:Following praziquantel treatment,dog body weight,sex,age,county,deworming time span and previous infection status at any sampling point had no influence on the re-infection prevalence in the region in general.The differences between re-infection prevalences were probably due to the seasonality in Echinoccocus spp.infection pressure in the region.Early winter,spring and early summer should be important seasons for optimal dog deworming intervention in these Tibetan communities.Qian Wang Wen-Jie Yu Bo Zhong Jing-Ye Shang Liang Huang Alexander Mastin Renqingpengcuo Yan Huang Guang-Jia Zhang Wei He Patrick Giraudoux Wei-Ping Wu Philip S.Craig 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:15

9The intrinsic mechanism of corrosion resistance for FCC high entropy alloys显示文摘The concept of high entropy alloys(HEAs) or multi-principal component alloys has inspired a great progress of physical metallurgy along with several unusual phenomena. The high corrosion resistance of HEAs was frequently mentioned but without convincing explanations. In this paper, the intrinsic mechanism of corrosion resistance in FCC HEAs was revealed by designing equal atomic alloys with single solid solution phase. 10Research progress in biohydrometallurgy of rare metals and heavy nonferrous metals with an emphasis on China显示文摘In the past decade, progress in the field of biohydrometallurgy had been significant. A total of 17 novel biomining microorganisms were discovered, and eight copper heap bioleaching plants and 11 gold biooxidation plants were established or expanded. In this review, it was summarized the physiological properties of the newly isolated biomining microorganisms and three novel microbial ecological methods for studying microbial community dynamics and structure. In addition, biohydrometallurgy research on rare metals such as uranium,molybdenum, tellurium, germanium, indium, and secondary rare metal resources, as well as heavy nonferrous metals such as copper, nickel, cobalt, and gold has been reviewed, with an emphasis on China. 12A multiplex PCR for differential detection of Echinococcus granulosus sensu stricto,Echinococcus multilocularis and Echinococcus canadensis in China显示文摘Background:Echinococcosis caused byEchinococcus is one of the most major infectious diseases in north-west highland of China.E.granulosus sensu strict,E.multilocularis,andE.canadensis are known to be the only three species related to human health transmitting in the areas.To achieve targeted treatment and control of echinococcosis,the accurate identification and discrimination of the species are important.However,currently the available diagnostic approaches do not present ideal results either in accuracy or efficiency.Methods:In the study,a set of primers were designed to aim at the three human-pathogenicEchinococcus species in China.The one-step multiplex PCR assay was developed and evaluated for the specificity and sensitivity.A total of 73parasitic lesions and 41 fecal materials obtained from human and various animals collected in the clinic and the field were tested to assess the applicability of this method.Results:The multiplex PCR effectively detected the individual DNA from the targeted species and their random mixtures generating with distinguishable expected size of products.The detection limit of the assay for each of the three species was 5 pg/μl when they were tested separately.When DNA mixtures of the targeted species containing the same concentration were used as templates,the lowest amount of DNA which can be detected was 50 pg/μl,10 pg/μl and 5 pg/μl forE.granulosus s.s.,E.multilocularis,andE.canadensis respectively.No cross-reactivity was observed when DNA from eight genetically close species was used as control templates.The multiplex PCR identifications of all samples were in line with the original sequencing results except for those infected withE.shiquicus,which showed negative signals in the developed assay.Of all the tested stool materials,16 were previously found positive forEchinococcus by visual and microscopic examination.Among these 16 samples,13 were confirmed by the multiplex PCR,and the other three tested negative.Additionally,the multiplex PCR identified another 14 positive feces from the remained 25 stool samples which absence of worms.Conclusions:The developed multiplex PCR shows advantages in fast diagnosis and large-scale epidemiological investigation,which proven to be a promising tool utilized in clinic and surveillance system.Jing-Ye Shang Guang-Jia Zhang Sha Liao Yan Huang Wen-Jie Yu Wei He Guang-You Yang Tiao-Ying Li Xing-Wang Chen Bo Zhong Qian Wang Qi Wang Rui-Rui Li Hao Wang 2019Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,4:11
13Indirect ELISA with Recombinant GP5 for Detecting Antibodies to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus显示文摘Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome is caused by the PRRS virus (PRRSV),which has six structural proteins (GP2,GP3,GP4,GP5,M and N). GP5 and N protein are important targets for serological detection by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and other methods. Toward this goal,we developed an indirect ELISA with recombinant GP5 antigens and this method was validated by comparison to the LSI PRRSV-Ab ELISA kit. The results indicated that the optimal concentration of coated recombinant antigen was 0.2 μg/well for a serum dilution of 1:40. The rate of agreement with the LSI PRRSV-Ab kit was 88.7% (266/300). 14miR-93-5p Transferred by Exosomes Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Cancer Cells via Intercellular Communication by Targeting PTEN显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma miR-93-5p and the risk of esophageal cancer, as well as the influence of miR-93-5p on the biological function of esophageal cancer cells,exerted through exosomes.Methods The expression of plasma miR-93-5p in esophageal cancer patients and healthy controls was analysed by real-time quantitative PCR. The influence of miR-93-5p on the risk and prognosis of esophageal carcinoma was analyzed by conditional logistic regression and survival analysis. The effect of miR-93-5p on the biological function of recipient cells was investigated by establishing an in vitro donor cell co-culture model. 15Regulatory effects of antitumor agent matrine on FOXO and PI3K-AKT pathway in castration-resistant prostate cancer cells显示文摘We previously demonstrated that matrine could inhibit the proliferating, migrating, as well as invading processes of both PC-3 and DU145 cells. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms have not yet been clearly defined. In this study, using various techniques such as high throughput sequencing technology, bioinformatics, quantitative real-time PCR, and immunoblot analysis,we aimed to understand whether matrine serves as a novel regulator of FOXO and PI3K-AKT signaling pathway. DU145 and PC-3 cell lines were cultured for 24 h in vitro. Cells were treated with either matrine or control serum for 48 h, followed by extraction of total RNA. The RNA was sequenced using HiSeq 2500 high-throughput sequencing platform (Illumina). A gene library was established and quality analysis of read data carried out. Integrated database from the website DAVID was used to analyze Gene Ontology (GO), and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway of differential genes was used for pathway analysis, screening for fold differences of more than two times. The FOXO and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways were screened, and expression levels of mRNA and core protein detected by real-time PCR and immunoblotting, respectively. High throughput sequencing and GO analysis revealed that differentially expressed genes before and after treatment played an important role in cell metabolic process, growth process, anatomical structure formation, cellular component organization, and biological regulation. KEGG signal pathway analysis revealed that FOXO and PI3K-AKT signal pathways had a significant difference between before and after matrine-treated androgen-independent prostate cancer cells PC-3 and DU145. Real-time PCR showed that matrine treatment led to a significant increase in the expression levels of FOXO1A, FOXO3A, FOXO4, and FOXO6 in DU145 and PC-3 cells (P<0.01 or P<0.05), whereas the PI3K expression levels decreased (P<0.01). Similarly, immunoblotting revealed a significant increase (P<0.05) in the expression levels of FOXO1A FOXO3A, FOXO4, and FOXO6 in both PC-3 and DU145 cells, whereas PI3K expression levels decreased (P<0.05). Matrine had a broad regulating effect on the mRNA expression profiles of both PC-3 and DU145 cells. Matrine may inhibit cell proliferation, migration, as well as invasion, and induce apoptosis in both PC-3 and DU145 cells through FOXO and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways. 17Effect of Carbon Content on Mechanical Properties and Weather Resistance of High Performance Bridge Steels显示文摘The influence of carbon content on the mechanical properties of high yield strength bridge steel has been investigated.The results show that the excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance are obtained for the steel with carbon content of 0.03%-0.05%(mass percent).According to the results,a new weathering bridge steel plate with carbon content of 0.045%(mass percent) has been developed.The appropriate controlled cooling process should be taken due to the results of CCT(continuous cooling transformation) and TTT(time-temperature-transformation) to ensure both microstructure and mechanical properties.CCT curve of the newly developed steel shows that when accelerated cooling speed is higher than 5 ℃/s,the intermediate transformation products can be formed.The TTT curve displays that the intermediate transformation temperature ranges from 600 to 530 ℃.Yield strength of the newly developed steels reaches 500 MPa,and their elongation and toughness are excellent.GUO Jia SHANG Cheng-jia YANG Shan-wu WANG Ying WANG Lian-wei HE Xin-lai 2009Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2009,16,6:9

19Circular RNA circStag1 promotes bone regeneration by interacting with HuR显示文摘Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a common bone metabolic disorder characterized by deterioration of the bone microarchitecture,leading to an increased risk of fractures.Recently,circular RNAs(circ RNAs)have been demonstrated to play pivotal roles in regulating bone metabolism.However,the underlying functions of circ RNAs in bone metabolism in postmenopausal osteoporosis remain obscure.Here,we report that circ Stag1 is a critical osteoporosis-related circ RNA that shows significantly downregulated expression in osteoporotic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)and clinical bone tissue samples from patients with osteoporosis.Overexpression of circ Stag1 significantly promoted the osteogenic capability of BMSCs.Mechanistically,we found that circ Stag1 interacts with human antigen R(Hu R),an RNA-binding protein,and promotes the translocation of Hu R into the cytoplasm.A high cytoplasmic level of Hu R led to the activation of the Wnt signaling pathway by stabilizing and enhancing low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5/6(Lrp5/6)andβ-catenin expression,thereby stimulating the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.Furthermore,overexpression of circ Stag1 in vivo by circ Stag1-loaded adeno-associated virus(circ Stag1-AAV)promoted new bone formation,thereby preventing bone loss in ovariectomized rats.Collectively,we show that circ Stag1 plays a pivotal role in promoting the regeneration of bone tissue via Hu R/Wnt signaling,which may provide new strategies to prevent bone metabolic disorders such as postmenopausal osteoporosis.Gaoyang Chen Canling Long Shang Wang Zhenmin Wang Xin Chen Wanze Tang Xiaoqin He Zhiteng Bao Baoyu Tan Jin Zhao Yongheng Xie Zhizhong Li Dazhi Yang Guozhi Xiao Songlin Peng 2022Bone Research2022,10,3:7
