1Modeling of degradation kinetics of Salvianolic acid B at different temperatures and pH values显示文摘In this work,the effects of degradation time,temperature,and pH value on the degradation of Salvianolic acid B in aqueous solution were determined.Higher pH values,higher extraction temperature,and longer extraction time led to more degradation of Salvianolic acid B.Danshensu concentration increased as Salvianolic acid B degraded.A mechanism model was developed considering the degradation of Salvianolic acid E and lithospermic acid,which were two degradation products of Salvianolic acid B.The reverse reactions of Salvianolic acid B degradation were also considered.Degradation kinetic constants were calibrated.The degradation kinetics of Salvianolic acid B,lithospermic acid,and Danshensu in a Salvia miltiorrhiza extract aqueous solution were predicted using the mechanism model.The predicted concentrations agreed well with the experimental results.This model was developed using degradation data obtained from simple composition systems,but it can be applied in a complex botanical mixture with high prediction accuracy.Xingchu Gong Shichao Huang Jianyang Pan Haibin Qu 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,1:16

5Theoretical calculations on the atomic and electronic structure of β-SiC(110) surface显示文摘We present a theoretical calculation of the atomic and electronic structure of β-SiC and its non-polar (110) surface using the full potential linear augmented plane wave (FPLAPW) approach. The calculated lattice constant and bulk modulus of p-SiC crystal are in excellent agreement with experimental data. The atomic and electronic structure of β-SiC(110) surface has been calculated by employing the slab and supercell model. It is found that the surface is characterized by a top-layer bond-length-contracting rotation relaxation in which the Si-surface atom moves closer towards the substrate while the C-surface atom moves outward. This relaxation is analogous to that of Ⅲ-Ⅴ semiconductor surface. The driving mechanism for this atomic rearrangement is that the Si atom tends to a planar sp2-like bonding situation with its three N neighbors and the N atom tends to a p3-like bonding with its three Si neighbors. 7Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C. 9An experimental method to obtain the hard alpha anomaly distribution for titanium alloy aeroengine disks显示文摘A probability-based damage tolerance methodology has been proposed to improve the recognition of material anomalies, especially hard alpha(TiN) anomalies for aeroengine rotor disks. A key input to this method is hard alpha anomaly distribution, which reflects the occurrence rate and size of anomalies present in the finished part material of titanium rotors. Since anomalies rarely occur naturally, an experimental method is proposed to obtain the anomaly distribution for titanium alloy aeroengine disks to reflect and equivalently replace the manufacturing development in titanium industry. In general, the anomaly distribution information can be divided into two parts: the Probability of Detection(POD) curve and the detected anomaly distribution, which contains the size and frequency data of the detected anomalies. The distribution can be established based on several appropriate assumptions and derivation steps with different confidence levels of POD curves and detected anomaly distributions. In this case, the distribution can be obtained in a relatively short time as a key input to the probability-based damage tolerance methodology. Then the Probability of Failure(POF) can be calculated, and the value is found to vary with different confidence levels. 12Oxygen modified CoP2 supported palladium nanoparticles as highly efficient catalyst for hydrolysis of ammonia borane显示文摘Ammonia borane(AB)is regarded as a promising chemical hydrogen-storage material due to its high hydrogen content,nontoxicity,and long-term stability under ambient temperature.However,constructing advanced catalysts to further promote the hydrogen production still remains a challenge for the hydrolysis of AB.Herein,we report a novel oxygen modified CoP_(2)(O-CoP_(2))material with dispersed palladium nanoparticles(Pd NPs)as a highly efficient and sustainable catalyst for AB hydrolysis.The modification of oxygen could optimize the catalytic synergy effect between CoP_(2)and Pd NPs,achieving enhanced catalytic activity with a turnover frequency(TOF)number of 532 min^(-1)and an activation energy(E_(a))value of 16.79 kJ·mol^(-1).Meanwhile,reaction kinetic experiments prove that the activation of water is the rate-determining step(RDS).The water activation mechanism is revealed by quasi in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and in-situ X-ray absorption fine structure(XAFS)measurements.The activation of water leads to the production of-H and-OH groups,which are further adsorbed on the oxygen atoms in P-O bond and Pd atoms,respectively.In addition,density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the introduced oxygen facilitates the adsorption and activation of water molecules.This novel modulation strategy successfully sheds new light on the development of advanced catalysts for hydrolysis of AB and beyond.Leijie Zhang Jian Ye Yi Tu Qingyu Wang Haibin Pan Lihui Wu Xusheng Zheng Junfa Zhu 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:1

14A likely autotetraploidization event shaped the Chinese mahogany(Toona sinensis)genome显示文摘Chinese mahogany(Toona sinensis) is of considerable medical and economic importance, and its genome has been deciphered. However, the process underlying its polyploidy is unclear, and the chromosomal evolutionary trajectory is poorly understood. Here, by reanalysing the T.sinensis genome, we found evidence of a tetraploidization event(T. sinensis special tetraploidization, TST) that occurred approximately 15-17 million years ago(MYA) after the core eudicot-common hexaploidization(ECH or gamma) event. We characterized the synonymous nucleotide substitution rates(Ks values) of collinear genes and found that T. sinensis genes affected by the TST evolve at a slower rate than Acer yangbiense genes. Furthermore, we identified homologous genes related to polyploidization and speciation and constructed multiple alignments with different reference genomes. Notably, the significant balance of gene retention and loss characterized in the two TST-derived subgenomes suggests an autopolyploid nature of the TST. Moreover, we deduced the chromosomal karyotypes of the two subgenomes and identified 7chromosomal fusions that have shaped the T. sinensis genome;more information is available on a newly constructed karyotype platform(http://gffzze84c5b42976d4cd7h9kck5x9fn0oq69vn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/Toona_sinensis/index.html). The T. sinensis genome preserves the ancestral chromosome structure of dicotyledons well and could serve as a good reference for understanding genomic changes in other Meliaceae and Sapindales plants. In addition, we verified that tandem duplication and the ECH have promoted the expansion of terpene synthase(TPS) genes;conversely, the TST seems to have inhibited expansion of these genes. 18The residues 4 to 6 at the N-terminus in particular modulate fibril propagation of β_(2)-microglobulin显示文摘The ΔN6 truncation is the main posttranslational modification of β_(2)-microglobulin( β_(2)M)found in dialysis-related amyloid.Investigation of the interaction of wild-type(WT) β_(2)M with N-terminally truncated variants is therefore of medical relevance.However,it is unclear which residues among the six residues at the N-terminus are crucial to the interactions and the modulation of amyloid fibril propagation of β_(2)M.We herein analyzed homo-and heterotypic seeding of amyloid fibrils of WT human β_(2)M and its N-terminally-truncated variantsΔN1 toΔN6,lacking up to six residues at the N-terminus.At acidic pH 2.5,we produced amyloid fibrils in vitro from recombinant,WT β_(2)M and its six truncated variants,and found thatΔN6 β_(2)M fibrils exhibit a significantly lower conformational stability than WT β_(2)M fibrils.Importantly,under more physiological conditions(pH 6.2),we assembled amyloid fibrils in vitro only from recombinant,ΔN4,ΔN5,andΔN6 β_(2)M but not from WT β_(2)M and its three truncated variantsΔN1 toΔN3.Notably,the removal of the six,five or four residues at the N-terminus leads to enhanced fibril formation,and homoand heterotypic seeding ofΔN6 fibrils strongly promotes amyloid fibril formation of WT β_(2)M and its six truncated variants,including at more physiological pH 6.2.Collectively,these results demonstrated that the residues 4 to 6 at the N-terminus particularly modulate amyloid fibril propagation of β_(2)M and the interactions of WT β_(2)M with Nterminally truncated variants,potentially indicating the direct relevance to the involvement of the protein’s aggregation in dialysis-related amyloidosis.Haibin Dang Zhixian Chen Wang Chen Xudong Luo Pan Liu Liqiang Wang Jie Chen Xuhai Tang Zhengzhi Wang Yi Liang 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,2:0
19Unraveling the advantages of Pd/CeO_(2)single-atom catalysts in the NO+CO reaction by model catalysts显示文摘Selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO is challenging in environmental catalysis but attractive owing to the advantage of simultaneous elimination of NO and CO.Here,model catalysts consisting of Pd nanoparticles(NPs)and single-atom Pd supported on a CeO_(2)(111)film grown on Cu(111)(denoted as Pd NPs/CeO_(2)and Pd_(1)/CeO_(2),respectively)were successfully prepared and characterized by synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy(SRPES)and infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy(IRAS).The NO+CO adsorption/reaction on the Pd_(1)/CeO_(2)and Pd NPs/CeO_(2)catalysts were carefully investigated using SRPES,temperature-programmed desorption(TPD),and IRAS.It is found that the reaction products on both model catalysts are in good agreement with those on real catalysts,demonstrating the good reliability of using these model catalysts to study the reaction mechanism of the NO+CO reaction.On the Pd NPs/CeO_(2)surface,N_(2)is formed by the combination of atomic N coming from the dissociation of NO on Pd NPs at higher temperatures.N_(2)O formation occurs probably via chemisorbed NO combined with atomic N on the surface.While on the single-atom Pd_(1)/CeO_(2)surface,no N_(2)O is detected.The 100%N_(2)selectivity may stem from the formation of O-N-N-O^(*)intermediate on the surface.Through this study,direct experimental evidence for the reaction mechanisms of the NO+CO reaction is provided,which supports the previous density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Qian Xu Xingwang Cheng Ningqiang Zhang Yi Tu Lihui Wu Haibin Pan Jun Hu Honghe Ding Junfa Zhu Yadong Li 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
20Protein O-GlcNAcylation homeostasis regulates facultative heterochromatin to fine-tune sog-Dpp signaling during Drosophila early embryogenesis显示文摘Protein O-GlcNAcylation is a monosaccharide post-translational modification maintained by two evolutionarily conserved enzymes, O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) and O-GlcNAcase (OGA). Mutations in human OGT have recently been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, although the mechanisms linking O-GlcNAc homeostasis to neurodevelopment are not understood. Here, we investigate the effects of perturbing protein O-GlcNAcylation using transgenic Drosophila lines that overexpress a highly active OGA. We reveal that temporal reduction of protein O-GlcNAcylation in early embryos leads to reduced brain size and olfactory learning in adult Drosophila. Downregulation of O-GlcNAcylation induced by the exogenous OGA activity promotes nuclear foci formation of Polycomb-group protein Polyhomeotic and the accumulation of excess K27 trimethylation of histone H3 (H3K27me3) at the mid-blastula transition. These changes interfere with the zygotic expression of several neurodevelopmental genes, particularly short gastrulation (sog), a component of an evolutionarily conserved sog-Decapentaplegic (Dpp) signaling system required for neuroectoderm specification.
