Current progress in developing metal oxide nanoarrays-based photoanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting显示文摘Solar energy driven photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting is a clean and powerful approach for renewable hydrogen production. The design and construction of metal oxide based nanoarray photoanodes is one of the promising strategies to make the continuous breakthroughs in solar to hydrogen conversion efficiency of PEC cells owing to their owned several advantages including enhanced reactive surface at the electrode/electrolyte interface, improved light absorption capability, increased charge separation efficiency and direct electron transport pathways. In this Review, we first introduce the structure, work principle and their relevant efficiency calculations of a PEC cell. We then give a summary of the state-of the-art research in the preparation strategies and growth mechanism for the metal oxide based nanoarrays, and some details about the performances of metal oxide based nanoarray photoanodes for PEC water splitting. Finally, we discuss key aspects which should be addressed in continued work on realizing high-efficiency metal oxide based nanoarray photoanodes for PEC solar water splitting systems. | Yongcai Qiu Zhenghui Pan Haining Chen Daiqi Ye Lin Guo Zhiyong Fan Shihe Yang | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,18: | 7
A regulated digital currency显示文摘The decentralized digital currency Bitcoin is an anonymous alternative to the centralized banking system and enjoys widespread and increasing adoption. Since Bitcoin created, many other electronic currencies have been developed. We propose a protocol for an electronic currency for making anonymous payments that can be supervised by an auditor, who has sole access to the transaction history. Other electronic currencies provide only anonymity, which is convenient for making illegal transactions without regulation. For users, miners, and banks, the transactions of our electronic currency are anonymous, and only auditors can see how it is used. We make use of POW(prove-of-work) technique that allows for distributed decisionmaking within a network, namely the Bitcoin blockchain protocol. We combine the POW and blockchain technology of Bitcoin to give better protection against double-spending attacks. | Yanbing WU Haining FAN Xiaoyun WANG Guangnan ZOU | 2019 | Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,3: | 4
Transarterial chemoembolization in combination with programmed death-1/programmed cell death-ligand 1 immunotherapy for hepatocellular显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. With the development of systemic therapies, several studies are currently underway, especially those related to the use of programmed death-1/programmed cell death-ligand 1(PD-1/PD-L1)immunotherapy.Moreover,studies on transarterial che-moembolization(TACE)and PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy have demonstrated some interesting outcomes. This article reviewed the current clinical evidence on the combination of TACE and PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy.Overall, our review summarized that a favorable survival time could be achieved using this combination in most patients. However, complications such as hyperprogression should be taken seriously, and the underlying mechanisms need to be explored. | Jingxin Yan Manjun Deng Shunyu Kong Ting Li Zhenwu Lei Lushun Zhang Yutong Zhuang Xin He Huanwei Wang Haining Fan Yingxing Guo | 2022 | iLIVER2022,1,4: | 2
Efficacy and complications of transarterial chemoembolization alone or in combination with different protocols for hepatocellular carcinoma: A Bayesian network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials显示文摘Background and aims:Transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is the standard treatment for most intermediate-toadvanced stage hepatocellular carcinoma. With the ongoing development of interventional therapies,TACE in combination with different protocols is being explored.A network meta-analysis to collect recent evidence in this field is required. Methods:We searched PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,Embase,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure database,Cochrane Library, and Wanfang database from their inception to May 2022 for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that reported TACE in combination with different protocols for hepatocellular carcinoma. Results:In total,67 RCTs assessing eight combination treatments were included. The quality of primary outcomes was from moderate to low.The Bayesian network meta-analysis confirmed that TACE combined with iodine-125 seed implantation had the highest probability of 1-year survival rate and TACE combined with sorafenib had the highest probability of 2-year survival rate.TACE alone had the highest probability of incidence of fever,TACE combined with sorafenib had the highest probability of incidence of pain and TACE combined with percutaneous ethanol injection had the highest probability of incidence of nausea and vomiting. Conclusion:This Bayesian network meta-analysis found that TACE combined with iodine-125 seed and TACE combined with sorafenib may benefit patients in terms of 1-year survival and 2-year survival, respectively. To confirm this conclusion,high-quality and well-designed RCTs with a larger sample size are needed. | Jingxin Yan Manjun Deng Ting Li Changhao Dong Minglan Wang Shunyu Kong Yingxing Guo Haining Fan | 2023 | iLIVER2023,2,2: | 1

Taste mechanism of kokumi peptides from yeast extracts revealed by molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation显示文摘Peptides have been used as flavors for decades, however, their tasting mechanism remains not entirely clear. In the present work,10 kokumi peptides identified in yeast extracts were selected as ligands.Their binding mechanism to calcium-sensitive receptors(CaSR)were investigated at molecular level by using molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations. The results showed that all kokumi peptides could bind to CaSR to form complexes,of whichγ-Glu-Cys-Gly(GSH),γ-Glu-Leu(EL)andγ-Glu-Tyr(EY)being the top 3 peptides with higher affinity.Arg66,Ser147 and Ala168 may be the active sites of CaSR and interact with CaSR through hydrogen bonds;the different kokumi peptides and CaSR mainly rely on hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction and hydrophobic interaction to bind each other. This study provides a theoretical reference for the interaction between kokumi peptides and their receptors. | Jincui Chang Tao Feng Haining Zhuang Shiqing Song Min Sun Lingyun Yao Huatian Wang Feina Hou Jian Xiong Fan Li Pei Li Wenhui Zhu | 2022 | Journal of Future Foods2022,2,4: | 0
Evaluating the Topology Coverage of BGP Monitors显示文摘BGP monitors are currently the main data resource of AS-level topology measurement, and the integrity of measurement result is limited to the location of such BGP monitors. However, there is currently no work to conduct a comprehensive study of the range of measurement results for a single BGP monitor. In this paper,we take the first step to describe the observed topology of each BGP monitor. To that end,we first investigate the construction and theoretical up-limit of the measured topology of a BGP monitor based on the valley-free model, then we evaluate the individual parts of the measured topology by comparing such theoretical results with the actually observed data.We find that:1)for more than 90%of the monitors, the actually observed peer-peer links merely takes a small part of all theoretical visible links;2)increasing the BGP monitors in the same AS may improve the measurement result, but with limited improvement;and 3)deploying multiple BGP monitors in different ASs can significantly improve the measurement results, but non-local BGP monitors can hardly replace the local AS BGP monitors. We also propose a metric for monitor selection optimization, and prove its effectiveness with experiment evaluation. | Shen Su Zhihong Tian Jing Qiu Yu Jiang Yanbin Sun Mohan Li Dunqiu Fan Haining Yu | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,3: | 0
Catalytic effect in lithium metal batteries: From heterogeneous catalyst to homogenous catalyst显示文摘Lithium metal batteries are regarded as prominent contenders to address the pressing needs owing to the high theoretical capacity.Toward the broader implementation, the primary obstacle lies in the intricate multi-electron,multi-step redox reaction associated with sluggish conversion kinetics, subsequently giving rise to a cascade of parasitic issues. In order to smooth reaction kinetics, catalysts are widely introduced to accelerate reaction rate via modulating the energy barrier.Over past decades,a large amount of research has been devoted to the catalyst design and catalytic mechanism exploration, and thus the great progress in electrochemical performance has been realized. Therefore,it is necessary to make a comprehensive review toward key progress in catalyst design and future development pathway. In this review, the basic mechanism of lithium metal batteries is provided along with corresponding advantages and existing challenges detailly described. The main catalysts employed to accelerate cathode reaction with emphasis on their catalytic mechanism are summarized as well. Finally, the rational design and innovative direction toward efficient catalysts are suggested for future application in metal-sulfur/gas battery and beyond. This review is expected to drive and benefit future research on rational catalyst design with multi-parameter synergistic impacts on the activity and stability of next-generation metal battery, thus opening new avenue for sustainable solution to climate change, energy and environmental issues, and the potential industrial economy. | Haining Fan Xuan-Wen Gao Hailong Xu Yichun Ding Shi-Xue Dou Wen-Bin Luo | 2024 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,90,3: | 0
Polystyrene nanoplastics induce glycolipid metabolism disorder via NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathway in mice显示文摘Nanoplastics-induced developmental and reproductive toxicity, neurotoxicity and immunotoxicity are a focus of widespread attention. However, the effects of nanoplastics(NPs)on glycolipid metabolism and the precise underlying mechanisms are unclear at present. Here,we showed that oral administration of polystyrene nanoparticles(PS-NPs)disrupts glycolipid metabolism, with reactive oxygen species(ROS)identified as a potential key signaling molecule. After PS-NPs treatment, excessive production of ROS induced the infammatory response and activated the antioxidant pathway through nuclear factor-erythroid factor 2-related factor 2.The activation of nuclear factor-κB(NFκB)signaling pathway induced the phosphorylation of the mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPK)signaling pathway, which induced the activation of extracellular regulated kinases(ERK)and p38.Constitutive activation of the MAPK signaling proteins induced high continued phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate-1,in turn, leading to decreased protein kinase B(Akt)activity, which weakened the sensitivity of liver cells to insulin signals and induced insulin resistance. In parallel, phosphorylation of Akt led to loss of control of Fo XO1,a key gene of gluconeogenesis, activating transcription of glucose-6-phosphatase(G6PC)and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase(PEPCK)in a manner dependent on PGC1α.Moreover,the activated ERK promoted lipid accumulation through ERK-PPARγcascades.Therefore,sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1 and levels of its downstream lipogenic enzymes,ACC-1,were up-regulated.Upon treatment with the antioxidant resveratrol,PS-NPs-induced glucose and lipid metabolic disorders were improved by inhibiting ROS-induced activation of NFκB and MAPK signaling pathway in mice.Based on above,PS-NPs exposure disrupts glycolipid metabolism in mice, with ROS identified as a potential key signaling molecule. | Xingpei Fan Xiaoyan Li Jiaxin Li Yuxia Zhang Xiangjuan Wei Hailong Hu Boya Zhang Haining Du Meimei Zhao Ruijiao Zhu Daqian Yang Yuri Oh Ning Gu | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,3: | 0

Advanced two-dimensional materials toward polysulfides regulation of metal-sulfur batteries显示文摘Metal-sulfur battery, which provides considerable high energy density at a low cost,is an appealing energy-storage technology for future long-range electric vehicles and large-scale power grids. One major challenge of metal-sulfur batteries is their long-term cycling stability, which is significantly deteriorated by the generation of various soluble polysulfide intermediates and the shuttling of these intermediates through the separator.Furthermore, the intrinsically sluggish reaction kinetics associated with the poor conductivity of sulfur/sulfides family causes a large polarization in cycle behavior, which further deteriorates the electrode rechargeability. To solve these problems, the research communities have spent a great amount of effort on designing smart cathodes to delicately tailor the physiochemical interaction between the sulfur hosts and polysulfides. Here,we summarize the key progress in the development of two-dimensional(2D)host materials showing advantageous tunability of their physiochemical properties through coordination control methods such as defect engineering, heteroatom doping, heterostructure, and phase and interface engineering.Accordingly,we discuss the mechanisms of polysulfide anchoring and catalyzing upon specific coordination environment in conjunction with possible structure-property relationships and theoretical analysis. This review will provide prospective fundamental guidance for future sulfur host design and beyond. | Haining Fan Wenbin Luo Shixue Dou Zijian Zheng | 2023 | SmartMat2023,4,5: | 0
