| 1 | Interface electron collaborative migration of Co–Co3O4/carbon dots:Boosting the hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane显示文摘Ammonia borane(AB)is an excellent candidate for the chemical storage of hydrogen.However,its practical utilization for hydrogen production is hindered by the need for expensive noble-metal-based catalysts.Herein,we report Co-Co3O4 nanoparticles(NPs)facilely deposited on carbon dots(CDs)as a highly efficient,robust,and noble-metal-free catalyst for the hydrolysis of AB.The incorporation of the multiinterfaces between Co,Co3O4 NPs,and CDs endows this hybrid material with excellent catalytic activity(rB=6816 mLH2 min^-1 gCo^-1)exceeding that of previous non-noble-metal NP systems and even that of some noble-metal NP systems.A further mechanistic study suggests that these interfacial interactions can affect the electronic structures of interfacial atoms and provide abundant adsorption sites for AB and water molecules,resulting in a low energy barrier for the activation of reactive molecules and thus substantial improvement of the catalytic rate. | Han Wu Min Wu Boyang Wang Xue Yong Yushan Liu Baojun Li Baozhong Liu Siyu Lu | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9: | 7 |
| 2 | Co-Co304@carbon core-shells derived from metal-organic framework nanocrystals as efficient hydrogenevolution catalysts显示文摘Controllable pyrolysis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in confined spacesis a promising strategy for the design and development of advanced functionalmaterials. In this study, Co-C0304@carbon composites were synthesized viapyrolysis of a Co-MOFs@glucose polymer (Co-MOFs@GP) followed by partialoxidation of Co nanoparticles (NPs). The pyrolysis of Co-MOFs@GP generated acore-shell structure composed of carbon shells and Co NPs. The controlled partialoxidation of Co NPs formed Co-Co304 heterojunctions confined in carbon shells.Compared with Co-MOFs@GP and Co@carbon-n (Co@C-n), Co-C0304@carbon-n(Co-Co304@C-n) exhibited higher catalytic activity during NaBH4 hydrolysis.Co-C0304@C-II provided a maximum specific H2 generation rate of5,360 mL.min-l.gco-1 at room temperature due to synergistic interactionsbetween Co and C0304 NPs. | 3 | Generation of strong magnetic fields with a laser-driven coil显示文摘As a promising new way to generate a controllable strong magnetic field, laser-driven magnetic coils have attracted interest in many research fields. In 2013, a kilotesla level magnetic field was achieved at the Gekko XⅡ laser facility with a capacitor–coil target. A similar approach has been adopted in a number of laboratories, with a variety of targets of different shapes. The peak strength of the magnetic field varies from a few tesla to kilotesla, with different spatiotemporal ranges. The differences are determined by the target geometry and the parameters of the incident laser. Here we present a review of the results of recent experimental studies of laser-driven magnetic field generation, as well as a discussion of the diagnostic techniques required for such rapidly changing magnetic fields. | 4 | Enhanced interfacial polarization of defective porous carbon confined CoP nanoparticles forming Mott-Schottky heterojunction for efficient electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘Integrating heterogeneous interface through nanostructure design and interfacial modification is essential to realize strengthened interfacial polarization relaxation in electromagnetic wave absorption.However,an in-depth comprehension of the interfacial polarization behavior at hetero-junction/interface is highly desired but remains a great challenge.Herein,a Mott-Schottky heterojunction consisting of honeycomb-like porous N-doped carbon confined CoP nanoparticles(CoP@HNC)is designed to elevate the interfacial polarization strength.Simultaneously,corresponding electron migration and redistribution between the heterointerface of defective carbon and CoP nanoparticles are revealed.The significant difference in the work function on both sides of heterogeneous interface boosts the interfacial polarization in high frequency region.Furthermore,the relevant spectroscopic characterizations demonstrate that electron spontaneously migrates from CoP to N-doped carbon at the heterointerface,thereby contributing to the accumulation of electron on defective carbon side and the distribution of hole on CoP side.Impressively,benefitting from the synergistic effects of three-dimensional porous conductive carbon skeleton,foreign N heteroatoms,special CoP nanoparticles,and the resultant CoP/N-doped carbon Mott-Schottky heterojunction,the CoP@HNC exhibits remarkable electromagnetic wave absorption performances with minimum reflection loss up to−60.8 dB and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth of 4.96 GHz,which is superior to most of recently reported transition metal phosphides microwave absorbing composites.The present work opens a new avenue for designing heterogeneous interface to realize strengthened microwave absorption capability and also reveals the in-depth influence of interface structure on electromagnetic wave absorption. | Baojun Wang Fangzhi Huang Hao Wu Zijie Xu Shipeng Wang Qinghua Han Fenghua Liu Shikuo Li Hui Zhang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,3: | 2 |

| 11 | Thermal-physiological Strategies Underlying the Sympatric Occurrence of Three Desert Lizard Species显示文摘Sympatric reptiles are the ideal system for investigating temperature-driven coexistence. Understanding thermally physiological responses of sympatric lizards is necessary to reveal the physiological mechanisms that underpin the sympatric occurrence of reptiles. In this study, we used three lizard species, Eremias argus, E. multiocellata, and Phrynocephalus przewalskii, which are sympatric in the Inner Mongolia desert steppe, as a study system. By comparing their resting metabolic rates(RMR) and locomotion at different body temperatures, we aimed to better understand their physiological responses to thermal environments, which may explain the sympatric occurrence of these lizards. Our results showed that E. argus had significantly higher RMR and sprint speed than E. multiocellata, and higher RMR than P. przewalskii. In addition, the optimal temperature that maximized metabolic rates and locomotion for E. argus and E. multiocellata was 36°C, whereas for P. przewalskii it was 39°C. Our study revealed the physiological responses to temperatures that justify the sympatric occurrence of these lizards with different thermal and microhabitat preferences and active body temperatures. Eremias argus and E. multiocellata, which have lower body temperatures than P. przewalskii, depend on higher RMR and locomotion to compensate for their lower body temperatures in field conditions. Research on mantle branch structure indicates that Au-Ag polymetallic ore-forming materials come mainly from the deep interior of the Earth. The ore-forming materials tend to migrate upwards through the multi-stage evolution of mantle plume, and are concentrated as ores in the favourable tectonic expansion zone of a mantle branch structure. As viewed in plane, from the center to the periphery and as viewed in space, from the lower part to the upper part there exists Au-Ag-Pb-Zn zonation, as evidenced by drilling data from a number of mines.
