| 1 | Management of femoral neck fractures in the young patient: A critical analysis review显示文摘Femoral neck fractures account for nearly half of all hip fractures with the vast majority occurring in elderly patients after simple falls.Currently there may be sufficient evidence to support the routine use of hip replacement surgery for low demand elderly patients in all but non-displaced and valgus impacted femoral neck fractures.However for the physiologically young patients,preservation of the natural hip anatomy and mechanics is a priority in management because of their high functional demands.The biomechanical challenges of femoral neck fixation and the vulnerability of the femoral head blood supply lead to a high incidence of non-union and osteonecrosis of the femoral head after internal fixation of displaced femoral neck fractures.Anatomic reduction and stable internal fixation are essentials in achieving the goals of treatment in this young patient population.Furthermore,other management variables such as surgical timing,the role of capsulotomy and the choice of implant for fixation remaincontroversial.This review will focus both on the demographics and injury profile of the young patient with femoral neck fractures and the current evidence behind the surgical management of these injuries as well as their major secondary complications. | Thierry Pauyo Justin Drager Anthony Albers Edward J Harvey | 2014 | World Journal of Orthopedics2014,5,3: | 70 |

| 4 | Generation and Regulation of CD8^+ Regulatory T Cells显示文摘Research into the suppressive activity of CD4+FoxP3+ T regulatory cells (Treg) has defined a sublineage of CD4+ cells that contribute to self-tolerance and resistance to autoimmune disease. Much less attention has been given to the potential contribution of regulatory sublineages of CD8+ cells. Analysis of a small fraction of CD8+ cells that target autoreactive CD4+ cells through recognition of the MHC class Ib molecule Qa-1 in mouse and HLA-E in human has revitalized interest in CD8+ Treg. | 5 | 环氧沥青混合料疲劳衰变特性试验显示文摘为获取钢桥面铺装环氧沥青混合料的疲劳衰变特性,首先基于正交异性桥面板-铺装层组成的复合结构模型,计算出标准胎压、超载50%以及超载100%胎压作用下铺装层的最大拉应变,作为疲劳试验应变水平的选取标准;然后,采用小梁四点弯曲疲劳试验对3组不同温度和不同应变条件下的环氧沥青混合料疲劳性能进行测试;最后,利用威布尔公式对不同温度与应变条件下的环氧沥青混合料疲劳寿命与疲劳裂纹扩展时的作用次数进行预测。结果表明:环氧沥青混合料初始模量大小仅与温度相关,与应变水平无关;在10℃和20℃时,1.38 MPa以下胎压以及30℃时0.7MPa胎压作用500万次均不发生疲劳破坏;30℃时,1.1 MPa和1.38 MPa胎压分别作用66 833次和35 480次出现疲劳损坏现象;相同应变作用下,试验温度越低,小梁疲劳破坏越快;环氧沥青混合料疲劳曲线可明显分为试验设备稳定、疲劳裂缝启裂、疲劳裂缝扩展3个阶段。研究结果可为环氧沥青混合料铺装疲劳寿命预估以及预防性养护提供理论依据。 | 罗桑 钱振东 HARVEY J | 2013 | 中国公路学报2013,26,2: | 19 |
| 6 | 雌性川金丝猴尿中生殖激素变化的研究显示文摘用人促黄体生成素/绒毛膜促性腺激素诊断药盒及雌激素诊断药盒,定期测定4只雌性川金丝猴尿中黄体生成素和绒毛膜促性腺激素的活性及其与雌激素含量的关系。实验证明,两种人用诊断药盒可以测出金丝猴尿中的促黄体生成素(LH)/绒毛膜促性腺激素(CG)及雌激素(E)的变化情况。基本上反映了金丝猴的卵泡形成、排卵和黄体生成的时间以及妊娠的情况。LH/CG及E,每月有一个大的峰值,其后1-4天内有月经或尿潜血出现。妊娠初期LH/CG急剧上升,持续一个月达到最高峰后即急剧下降。E在LH/CG下降后开始升高,持续3-4个月达到最高峰,高峰下降后半个月左右分娩,分娩后重新升高,但低于原水平。金丝猴的繁殖行为,主要表现为邀配和交配,9-12月频率最高。根据LH/CG曲线的变化可以推断受精的大约日期。 | 戚汉君 梁冰 鲍文永 贾玉春 浜夏樹 NANCY M.CZEKALA NANCY C. | 17 | Mitochondrial Composition,Function and Stress Response in Plants显示文摘The primary function of mitochondria is respiration,where catabolism of substrates is coupled to ATP synthesis via oxidative phosphorylation.In plants,mitochondrial composition is relatively complex and flexible and has specific pathways to support photosynthetic processes in illuminated leaves.This review begins with outlining current models of mitochondrial composition in plant cells,with an emphasis upon the assembly of the complexes of the classical electron transport chain (ETC).Next,we focus upon the comparative analysis of mitochondrial function from different tissue types.A prominent theme in the plant mitochondrial literature involves linking mitochondrial composition to environmental stressresponses,and this review then gives a detailed outline of how oxidative stress impacts upon the plant mitochondrial proteome with particular attention to the role of transition metals.This is followed by an analysis of the signaling capacity of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species,which studies the transcriptional changes of stress responsive genes as a framework to define specific signals emanating from the mitochondrion.Finally,specific mitochondrial roles during exposure to harsh environments are outlined,with attention paid to mitochondrial delivery of energy and intermediates,mitochondrial support for photosynthesis,and mitochondrial processes operating within root cells that mediate tolerance to anoxia and unfavorable soil chemistries. | Richard P. | 18 | Cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy for colorectal peritoneal metastases显示文摘AIM:To systematically review the available evidence regarding cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and intraperitoneal chemotherapy(IPC) for colorectal peritoneal metastases(CPM).METHODS:An electronic literature search was carried out to identify publications reporting oncological outcome data(overall survival and/or disease free survival and/or recurrence rates)following CRS and IPC for treatment of CPM.Studies reporting outcomes following CRS and IPC for cancer subtypes other than colorectal were only included if data were reported independently for colorectal cancer-associated cases;in addition studies reporting outcomes for peritoneal carcinomatosis of appendiceal origin were excluded.RESULTS:Twenty seven studies,published between1999 and 2013 with a combined population of 2838patients met the predefined inclusion criteria.Included studies comprised 21 case series,5 case-control studies and 1 randomised controlled trial.Four studies provided comparative oncological outcome data for patients undergoing CRS in combination with IPC vs systemic chemotherapy alone.The primary indication for treatment was CPM in 96%of cases(2714/2838)and recurrent CPM(rCPM)in the remaining 4%(124/2838).In the majority of included studies(20/27)CRS was combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC).In 3 studies HIPEC was used in combination with early post-operative intraperitoneal chemotherapy(EPIC),and 2 studies used EPIC only,following CRS.Two studies evaluated comparative outcomes with CRS+HIPEC vs CRS+EPIC for treatment of CPM.The delivery of IPC was performed using an'open'or'closed'abdomen approach in the included studies.CONCLUSION:The available evidence presented in this review indicates that enhanced survival times can be achieved for CPM after combined treatment with CRS and IPC. | Reza Mirnezami Brendan J Moran Kate Harvey Tom Cecil Kandiah Chandrakumaran Norman Carr Faheez Mohamed Alexander H Mirnezami | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,38: | 6 |

The immune system in the gut is the first line of host defense against mucosal microbial pathogens and it plays a crucial role in maintaining mucosal homeostasis. Membranous or microfold cells, commonly referred to as microfold cells, are specialized epithelial cells of the gut-associated lymphoid tissues (GALT) and they play a sentinel role for the intestinal immune system by delivering luminal antigens through the follicle-associated epithelium to the underlying immune cells. M cells sample and uptake antigens at their apical membrane, encase them in vesicles to transport them to the basolateral membrane of M cells, and from there deliver antigens to the nearby lymphocytes. On the flip side, some intestinal pathogens exploit M cells as their portal of entry to invade the host and cause infections.
