| 1 | Platelets in hemostasis and thrombosis:Novel mechanisms of fibrinogen-independent platelet aggregation and fibronectin-mediated protein wave of hemostasis显示文摘Platelets are small anucleate cells generated from megakaryocytes in the bone marrow.Although platelet generation,maturation,and clearance are still not fully understood,significant progress has been made in the last 1-2 decades.In blood circulation,platelets can quickly adhere and aggregate at sites of vascular injury,forming the platelet plug(i.e.the first wave of hemostasis).Activated platelets can also provide negatively charged phosphatidylserinerich membrane surface that enhances cell-based thrombin generation,which facilitates blood coagulation(i.e.the second wave of hemostasis).Platelets therefore play central roles in hemostasis.However,the same process of hemostasis may also cause thrombosis and vessel occlusion,which are the most common mechanisms leading to heart attack and stroke following ruptured atherosclerotic lesions.In this review,we will introduce the classical mechanisms and newly discovered pathways of platelets in hemostasis and thrombosis,including fibrinogen-independent platelet aggregation and thrombosis,and the plasma fibronectin-mediated 'protein wave' of hemostasis that precedes the classical first wave of hemostasis.Furthermore,we briefly discuss the roles of platelets in inflammation and atherosclerosis and the potential strategies to control atherothrombosis. | Yan Hou Naadiya Carrim Yiming Wang Reid C.Gallant Alexandra Marshall Heyu Ni | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,6: | 21 |

| 3 | Routing for predictable Multi-Layered Satellite Networks显示文摘Multi-Layered Satellite Network(MLSN),especially LEO/MEO satellite network,consisting of low and medium earth orbit satellites,is capable of providing higher coverage and better service than single-layered one.Its performance in deployment,however,is mainly encumbered by obsolete routing protocols and algorithms.This paper takes the predictability of satellite movements into consideration,based on which a novel routing protocol Predictable Satellite Network Routing Protocol(PSNRP)—is proposed.In this protocol,every topology change due to satellite movement is either described as a predictable or an unpredictable change.On the basis of PSNRP,we import a heuristic routing algorithm for satisfying Quality-of-Service(QoS)requirements from network users,which is convinced as a Non-deterministic Polynomial Complete problem.The QoS requirements in this paper mainly refer to end-to-end delay,bandwidth and package loss rate.In addition to obtaining better routing performance,PSNRP successfully allocates calculation tasks evenly among all nodes,separates user data from protocol control data and achieves stronger robustness against satellite failures and link congestions.The superiority of our routing scheme is proved by simulation results. | LIU HeYu SUN FuChun | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,11: | 5 |
| 4 | Significance of Vibrio species in the marine organic carbon cycle-A review显示文摘The genus Vibrio,belonging to Gammaproteobacteria of the phylum Proteobacteria,is a genetically and ecologically diverse group of heterotrophic bacteria,that are ubiquitous in marine environments,especially in coastal areas.In particular,vibrios dominate,i.e.up to 10%of the readily culturable marine bacteria in these habitats.The distribution of Vibrio spp.is shaped by various environmental parameters,notably temperature,salinity and dissolved organic carbon.Vibriospp.may utilize a wide range of organic carbon compounds,including chitin(this may be metabolized by most Vibrio spp.),alginic acid and agar.Many Vibrio spp.have very short replication times(as short as~10 min),which could facilitate them developing into high biomass content albeit for relatively short durations.Although Vibriospp.usually comprise a minor portion(typically^1%of the total bacterioplankton in coastal waters)of the total microbial population,they have been shown to proliferate explosively in response to various nutrient pulses,e.g.,organic nutrients from algae blooms and iron from Saharan dust.Thus,Vibrio spp.may exert large impacts on marine organic carbon cycling especially in marginal seas.Genomics and related areas of investigation will reveal more about the molecular components and mechanisms involved in Vibrio-mediated biotransformation and remineralization processes. | Xiaohua ZHANG Heyu LIN Xiaolei WANG Brian AUSTIN | 2018 | Science China Earth Sciences2018,61,10: | 5 |

| 6 | Fish forewarning of comprehensive toxicity in water environment based on Bayesian sequential method显示文摘Environmental impact of pollutants can be analyzed effectively by acquiring fish behavioral signals in water with biological behavior sensors. However, a variety of factors, such as the complexity of biological organisms themselves, the device error and the environmental noise, may compromise the accuracy and timeliness of model predictions. The current methods lack prior knowledge about the fish behavioral signals corresponding to characteristic pollutants, and in the event of a pollutant invasion, the fish behavioral signals are poorly discriminated. Therefore, we propose a novel method based on Bayesian sequential,which utilizes multi-channel prior knowledge to calculate the outlier sequence based on wavelet feature followed by calculating the anomaly probability of observed values. Furthermore, the relationship between the anomaly probability and toxicity is analyzed in order to achieve forewarning effectively. At last, our algorithm for fish toxicity detection is verified by integrating the data on laboratory acceptance of characteristic pollutants. | 7 | Improvement in the risk assessment of oral leukoplakia through morphology-related copy number analysis显示文摘Oral leukoplakia is the most common type of oral potentially malignant disorders and considered a precursor lesion to oral squamous cell carcinoma.However,a predictor of oral leukoplakia prognosis has not yet been identified.We investigated whether copy number alteration patterns may effectively predict the prognostic outcomes of oral leukoplakia using routinely processed paraffin sections.Comparison of copy number alteration patterns between oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia(HOL,n=22)and dysplasia(DOL,n=21)showed that oral leukoplakia with dysplasia had a higher copy number alteration rate(86%)than oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia(46%).Oral leukoplakia with dysplasia exhibited a wider range of genomic variations across all chromosomes compared with oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia.We also examined a retrospective cohort of 477 patients with oral leukoplakia with hyperplasia with detailed follow-up information.The malignant transformation(MT,n=19)and leukoplakia recurrence(LR,n=253)groups had higher frequencies of aneuploidy events and copy number loss rate than the free of disease(FD,n=205)group.Together,our results revealed the association between the degree of copy number alterations and the histological grade of oral leukoplakia and demonstrated that copy number alteration may be effective for prognosis prediction in oral leukoplakia patients with hyperplasia. | Xiaotian Li Lu Liu Jianyun Zhang Ming Ma Lisha Sun Xuefen Li Heyu Zhang Jianbin Wang Yanyi Huang Tiejun Li | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9: | 2 |

| 10 | Source apportionment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in a sediment core from Lake Dagze Co, Tibetan Plateau, China: Comparison of three receptor models显示文摘Receptor models are a useful tool for identifying sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in multiple environmental media. In this study, three different receptor models(including the principal component analysis-multiple linear regression(PCA-MLR), positive matrix factorization(PMF), and Unmix models) were used to apportion the sources of 16 priority PAHs in a sediment core of Lake Dagze Co. The ΣPAHs(sum of all 16 measured PAHs) concentrations ranged from 51.89 to 132.82 ng/g with an average of 80.39 ng/g. TheΣ PAHs were dominated by 2-3 ring PAHs, accounting for 80.12% on average, thereby indicating that they mainly originated from biomass and coal combustion and/or from long-range atmospheric transportation. The three models produced consistent source apportionment results. The greatest contributor to ΣPAHs was biomass combustion, followed by coal combustion, vehicle emissions, and petrogenic sources. Moreover, the temporal variation of the common sources was well-correlated among models. The multi-method comparison and evaluation results showed that all three models were useful tools for source apportionment of PAHs, with the PMF model providing better results than the PCA-MLR and Unmix models. The temporal trends of factor contributions were verified by PAHs with different ring numbers. Significant correlations were found between the simulated concentrations of each source factor and the PAHs with different ring numbers(P<0.01), except for the petrogenic source identified by the Unmix model(P>0.05).
