Cogitation on developing a dynamic model of soil wind erosion显示文摘Studies on soil wind erosion began with single factors affecting soil wind erosion; with increasing quantities of data being accumulated, the wind erosion equation(WEQ),the revised wind erosion equation(RWEQ),the wind erosion prediction system(WEPS),and other soil wind erosion models have been successively established, and great advances have been achieved. Here we briefly review the soil wind erosion research course and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the current soil wind erosion models. From the perspective of the dynamics of wind erosion,we classified the factors affecting soil wind erosion into three categories, namely, wind erosivity factors(WEF),soil antierodibility factors(SAF),and roughness interference factors(RIF).We proposed the concept of a standard plot of soil wind erosion to solve the problem of uncertainty of the soil wind erosion modulus on a spatial scale, and provided methods to set similarity conditions in wind tunnel simulation experiments and to convert the spatial scale of the wind erosion modulus from the standard plot to a large scale field. We also proposed a conceptual model on the basis of the dynamics of soil wind erosion with the theoretical basis that wind produces a shear force on the soil surface. This shear force is partitioned by barely erodible soil surfaces and roughness elements on the ground, and the amount of soil loss by wind should be calculated by comparing the shear force of the wind on barely erodible soil surfaces with the anti-erosion force of the surface soil. One advantage of this conceptual model is that the calculated soil wind erosion modulus is not subject to changes of spatial scale. Finally,we recommended continual improvement of the existing models while also establishing new models. | ZOU XueYong ZHANG ChunLai CHENG Hong KANG LiQiang WU YongQiu | 2015 | Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,3: | 9

The 2018 M_S 5.9 Mojiang Earthquake:Source model and intensity based on near-field seismic recordings显示文摘On September 8, 2018, an M_S 5.9 earthquake struck Mojiang, a county in Yunnan Province, China. We collect near-field seismic recordings(epicentral distances less than 200 km) to relocate the mainshock and the aftershocks within the first 60 hours to determine the focal mechanism solutions of the mainshock and some of the aftershocks and to invert for the finite-fault model of the mainshock. The focal mechanism solution of the mainshock and the relocation results of the aftershocks constrain the mainshock on a nearly vertical fault plane striking northeast and dipping to the southeast. The inversion of the finite-fault model reveals only a single slip asperity on the fault plane. The major slip is distributed above the initiation point, ~14 km wide along the down-dip direction and ~14 km long along the strike direction, with a maximal slip of ~22 cm at a depth of ~6 km. The focal mechanism solutions of the aftershocks show that most of the aftershocks are of the strike-slip type, a number of them are of the normal-slip type, and only a few of them are of the thrust-slip type.On average, strike-slip is dominant on the fault plane of the mainshock, as the focal mechanism solution of the mainshock suggests, but when examined in detail, slight thrust-slip appears on the southwest of the fault plane while an obvious part of normal-slip appears on the northeast, which is consistent with what the focal mechanism solutions of the aftershocks display. The multiple types of aftershock focal mechanism solutions and the slip details of the mainshock both suggest a complex tectonic setting, stress setting, or both. The intensity contours predicted exhibit a longer axis trending from northeast to southwest and a maximal intensity of Ⅷ around the epicenter and in the northwest. | Xu Zhang Zhen Fu LiSheng Xu ChunLai Li Hong Fu | 2019 | Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,3: | 4
Iodine biofortification of vegetable plants-An innovative method for iodine supplementation显示文摘To elevate the iodine level in edible plants has been shown to be an excellent approach to correct iodine deficiency. We have proposed an innovative approach to produce iodine supplementation by growing vegetables on soils with algal-based iodized organic fertilizer.Ten species of vegetables were tested. The biological absorption and migration of the iodine within the vegetable plants were revealed using microscopy with silver iodide precipitation technique. The results show that the absorption of iodine by the vegetable increases with increasing amount of the algal-based iodized organic fertilizer in general. And the uptake of iodine by leaf vegetable is significantly greater than that by fruit vegetable.Distribution of iodine in various plant organs shows a trend of decreasing iodine concentration from root, leaf, stalk,to fruit.A similar of decreasing concentration can also be found in various cells(cytoplasm>cytoderm>organelles). The exploration of the iodine uptake and biogeochemistry migration mechanisms provides an important scientific foundation for establishing a new method of producing a natural iodine supplementation by iodine biofortification of vegetables. | WENG HuanXin HONG ChunLai XIA TianHong BAO LiTing LIU HuiPing LI DeWang | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18: | 3
Application of a new wind driving force model in soil wind erosion area of northern China显示文摘The shear stress generated by the wind on the land surface is the driving force that results in the wind erosion of the soil.It is an independent factor influencing soil wind erosion. The factors related to wind erosivity, known as submodels, mainly include the weather factor(WF)in revised wind erosion equation(RWEQ),the erosion submodel(ES)in wind erosion prediction system(WEPS),as well as the drift potential(DP)in wind energy environmental assessment. However, the essential factors of WF and ES contain wind, soil characteristics and surface coverings, which therefore results in the interdependence between WF or ES and other factors(e.g.,soil erodible factor)in soil erosion models.Considering that DP is a relative indicator of the wind energy environment and does not have the value of expressing wind to induce shear stress on the surface. Therefore,a new factor is needed to express accurately wind erosivity.Based on the theoretical basis that the soil loss by wind erosion(Q)is proportional to the shear stress of the wind on the soil surface,a new model of wind driving force(WDF)was established, which expresses the potential capacity of wind to drive soil mass in per unit area and a period of time.Through the calculations in the typical area, the WDF,WF and DP are compared and analyzed from the theoretical basis, construction goal,problem-solving ability and typical area application;the spatial distribution of soil wind erosion intensity was concurrently compared with the spatial distributions of the WDF,WF and DP values in the typical area. The results indicate that the WDF is better to reflect the potential capacity of wind erosivity than WF and DP,and that the WDF model is a good model with universal applicability and can be logically incorporated into the soil wind erosion models. | ZOU Xueyong LI Huiru LIU Wei WANG Jingpu CHENG Hong WU Xiaoxu ZHANG Chunlai KANG Liqiang | 2020 | Journal of Arid Land2020,12,3: | 2
IMPROVING THE FREQUENCY RESOLUTION OF DIGITALLY SYNTHESIZED PERIODIC SIGNALS BY A SEQUENTIAL ADDRESSING SCHEME显示文摘In the digital synthesis of wideband periodic signals using an Arbitrary Waveform Gen-erator(AWG),the frequency resolution and spectral complexity of the synthesized signals are com-monly limited by the memory capacity and clock frequency of the AWG.This paper proposes a novel sequential addressing scheme and then presents several sequences to improve the frequency resolution of the synthesized periodic signals without changing their spectral envelopes and basic time-domain characteristics under the condition of a fixed memory capacity and a fixed clock fre-quency.The main idea of the scheme is using the address generator in an AWG to program and produce addresses to read fixed waveform data in variable order, and thus to generate waveforms of various periods and profiles. The scheme is applied in simulating signal scenarios for military com-munication countermeasure experiments, and achieves high performance. | Tian Xinguang Duan Miyi Sun Chunlai Chen Hong | 2008 | Journal of Electronics(China)2008,25,5: | 2

Biogeochemical transport of iodine and its quantitative model显示文摘Iodine deficiency disorders(IDD) are among the world's most prevalent public health problems yet preventable by dietary iodine supplements. To better understand the biogeochemical behavior of iodine and to explore safer and more efficient ways of iodine supplementation as alternatives to iodized salt,we studied the behavior of iodine as it is absorbed, accumulated and released by plants.Using Chinese cabbage as a model system and the 125I tracing technique,we established that plants uptake exogenous iodine from soil, most of which are transported to the stem and leaf tissue. The level of absorption of iodine by plants is dependent on the iodine concentration in soil,as well as the soil types that have different iodine-adsorption capacity. The leaching experiment showed that the remainder soil content of iodine after leaching is determined by the iodine-adsorption ability of the soil and the pH of the leaching solution, but not the volume of leaching solution.Iodine in soil and plants can also be released to the air via vaporization in a concentration-dependent manner. This study provides a scientific basis for developing new methods to prevent IDD through iodized vegetable production. | WENG HuanXin HONG ChunLai YAN AiLan JI ZhongQiang | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,9: | 1
