2Serum levels of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in childhood atopic dermatitis显示文摘Suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) proteins,a member of SOCS family,are predominantly expressed in Th2 cells,and it has an important role in regulating the onset and maintenance of Th2-mediated allergic immune disease.1 SOCS can translocate from cytoplasm to nucleus when the level in cytoplasm increases,and localize to cell membrane where it binds to receptors.However,to our knowledge,there has been no documentation whether SOCS can transport to the intercellular space or circulating body fluids,let alone the subsequent biological significance.Signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) proteins,a group of transcription factor,are critical for mediating signals during Th1,Th2,Treg,and Th17 differentiation.Recent study demonstrated that STAT3 is not only required for the differentiation of Th17,IL-6-activated STAT3 promotes Maf expression,a factor required for Th2 differentiation and production of IL-4.Furthermore,STAT3 was activated throughout Th2 cell differentiation and was indispensable for Th2 cytokine production and transcription factor expression.2 SOCS proteins were recognized to negatively regulate the JAK/STAT signaling pathway through the common SH2 domain.Since binding of the SH2 domain of SOCS3 is relatively specific to receptors for STAT3-activating cytokines,such as IL-6,granulocyte-colony stimulating factor,leptin,and leukemia inhibitory factor,the suppressive effect of SOCS3 has been shown to be relatively restricted to STAT3.3 In this report we demonstrate that the serum levels of SOCS3 and STAT3 were increased in childhood atopic dermatitis (AD) compared with controls.Furthermore,STAT3 is significantly positively correlated with Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) index.Lyu Yani Zhu Lili Qi Ruiqun Xu Jing Di Zhenghong Chen Hongduo Gao Xinghua 2014Chinese Medical Journal2014,,12:4
3Accelerated evolution of an Lhx2 enhancer shapes mammalian social hierarchies显示文摘Social hierarchies emerged during evolution,and social rank influences behavior and health of individuals.However,the evolutionary mechanisms of social hierarchy are still unknown in amniotes.Here we developed a new method and performed a genome-wide screening for identifying regions with accelerated evolution in the ancestral lineage of placental mammals,where mammalian social hierarchies might have initially evolved.Then functional analyses were conducted for the most accelerated region designated as placental-accelerated sequence 1(PAS1,P=3.15 × 10^-18).Multiple pieces of evidence show that PAS1 is an enhancer of the transcription factor gene Lhx2 involved in brain development.PAS1s isolated from various amniotes showed different c/s-regulatory activity in vitro,and affected the expression of Lhx2 differently in the nervous system of mouse embryos.PAS1 knock-out mice lack social stratification.PAS1 knock-in mouse models demonstrate that PAS1s determine the social dominance and subordinate of adult mice,and that social ranks could even be turned over by mutated PAS1.All homozygous mutant mice had normal huddled sleeping behavior,motor coordination and strength.Therefore,PAS1-Lhx2 modulates social hierarchies and is essential for establishing social stratification in amniotes,and positive Darwinian selection on PAS1 plays pivotal roles in the occurrence of mammalian social hierarchies.Yuting Wang Guangyi Dai Zhili Gu Guopeng Liu Ke Tang Yi-Hsuan Pan Yujie Chen Xin Lin Nan Wu Haoshan Chen Su Feng Shou Qiu Hongduo Sun Qian Li Chuan Xu Yanan Mao Yong Edward Zhang Philipp Khaitovich Yan-Ling Wang Qunxiu Liu Jing-Dong Jackie Han Zhen Shao Gang Wei Chun Xu Naihe Jing Haipeng Li 2020Cell Research2020,30,5:4

5Real-time monitoring of optimum timing for harvesting fresh tea leaves based on machine vision显示文摘The harvesting time of fresh tea leaves has a significant impact on product yield and quality.The aim of this study was to propose a method for real-time monitoring of the optimum harvesting time for picking fresh tea leaves based on machine vision.Firstly,the shapes of fresh tea leaves were distinguished from RGB images of the tea-tree canopy after graying with the improved B-G algorithm,filtering with a median filter algorithm,binary processing with the Otsu algorithm,and noise reduction and edge smoothing using open and close operations.Then the leaf characteristics,such as leaf area index,average length,and leaf identification index,were calculated.Based on these,the Bayesian discriminant principle and method were used to construct a discriminant model for fresh tea-leaf collection status.When this method was applied to a RGB tea-tree canopy image acquired at 45°shooting angle,the fresh tea-leaf recognition rate was 90.3%,and the accuracy for fresh tea-leaf harvesting status was 98%by cross validation.Hence,this method provides the basic conditions for future tea-plantation operation and management using information technology,automation,and intelligent systems.Liang Zhang Hongduo Zhang Yedong Chen Sihui Dai Xumeng Li Kenji Imou Zhonghua Liu Ming Li 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,1:2

9Recognition and localization of strawberries from 3D binocular cameras for a strawberry picking robot using coupled YOLO/Mask R-CNN显示文摘To solve the problem of high labour costs in the strawberry picking process,the approach of a strawberry picking robot to identify and find strawberries is suggested in this study.First,1000 images including mature,immature,single,multiple,and occluded strawberries were collected,and a two-stage detection Mask R-CNN instance segmentation network and a one-stage detection YOLOv3 target detection network were used to train a strawberry identification model which classified strawberries into two categories:mature and immature.The accuracy ratings for YOLOv3 and Mask R-CNN were 93.4%and 94.5%,respectively.Second,the ZED stereo camera,triangulation,and a neural network were used to locate the strawberry in three dimensions.YOLOv3 identification accuracy was 3.1 mm,compared to Mask R-CNN of 3.9 mm.The strawberry detection and positioning method proposed in this study may effectively be used to supply the picking robot with a precise location of the ripe strawberry.Heming Hu Yutaka Kaizu Hongduo Zhang Yongwei Xu Kenji Imou Ming Li Jingjing Huang Sihui Dai 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:1

14Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Low-Carbon Q235 Steel Welded Using Friction Stir Welding显示文摘This study focuses on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints of Q235 mild steel,which was formed by the friction stir welding(FSW).The results indicated that,after the FSW,the heat-affected zone(HAZ)of the retreating side(HAZRS)and the HAZ of the advancing side(HAZAS)recovered under the influence of the heating cycle.The transformation of the phases in the thermo-mechanically affected zone(TMAZ)of the retreating side(TMAZRS),the stir zone(SZ)and the TMAZ of the advancing side(TMAZAS)generated the pearlite and acicular ferrite.The continuous dynamic recrystallization occurred in all the three zones,whereas the grains were refined.The SZ mainly consisted of D1,D2 and F shear textures,while the TMAZAS was made up of only the F shear texture.The fine-grained structure,pearlite and the acicular ferrite improved the hardness and tensile strength of the joint.Its ultimate tensile strength was 479 MPa,which was 1.3% higher than that of the base metal.However,the uniform elongation was 16%,which showed a decrease of 33%.The fracture was a ductile fracture with the appearance of dimples.Besides,the joints of the FSW showed an excellent bending performance.Hongduo Wang Kuaishe Wang Wen Wang Yongxin Lu Pai Peng Peng Han Ke Qiao Zhihao Liu Lei Wang 2020Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,11:1

17Method for C/N ratio estimation using Mask R-CNN and a depth camera for organic fraction of municipal solid wastes显示文摘Fast assessment of the initial carbon to nitrogen ratio(C/N)of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW)is an important prerequisite for automatic composting control to improve efficiency and stability of the bioconversion process.In this study,a novel approach was proposed to estimate the C/N of OFMSW,where an instance segmentation model was applied to predict the masks for the waste images.Then,by combining the instance segmentation model with the depth-camera-based volume calculation algorithm,the volumes occupied by each type of waste were obtained,therefore the C/N could be estimated based on the properties of each type of waste.First,an instance segmentation dataset including three common classes of OFMSW was built to train mask region-based convolutional neural networks(Mask R-CNN)model.Second,a volume measurement algorithm was proposed,where the measurement result of the object was derived by accumulating the volumes of small rectangular cuboids whose bottom area was calculated with the projection property.Then the calculated volume was corrected with linear regression models.The results showed that the trained instance segmentation model performed well with average precision scores AP_(50)=82.9,AP_(75)=72.5,and mask intersection over unit(Mask IoU)=45.1.A high correlation was found between the estimated C/N and the ground truth with a coefficient of determination R2=0.97 and root mean square error RMSE=0.10.The relative average error was 0.42%and the maximum error was only 1.71%,which indicated this approach has potential for practical applications.Jingjing Huang Hongduo Zhang Xu Xiao Jingqi Huang Jingxin Xie Liang Zhang Heming Hu Sihui Dai Ming Li Yongwei Xu 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5:0
18Transient carriage and low-level colonization of orally administrated lytic and temperate phages in the gut of mice显示文摘Many studies have shown the efficacy of phage therapy in reducing gastrointestinal pathogens.However,it is unclear whether phages can successfully colonize the gut when administered in an adequate amount for a long time.About 1×10^(8)PFU/mL of purified lytic phage PA13076 or temperate phage BP96115 were fed daily to mice via drinking water over 31 days,to elucidate the distribution of phages in the gastrointestinal tract.At day 16 and 31,six different segments of the gastrointestinal tract with their contents,including stomach,duodenum,jejunum,ileum,cecum,colon,and fresh feces,were aseptically collected.The phage titers were determined using the double-layered plate method with S.Enteritidis ATCC 13076 or S.Pullorum SPu-109 used as host cells.The results indicated that a small portion of administered phages survived exposure to gastric acid and entered the intestinal tract.The prevalence of phages in the gastrointestinal tract was lower than 1%of the primary phage count.Highest phage titers were detected in the cecum with 10^(4)~10^(5)PFU/g,and most of the phages were eliminated from the body via feces with 10^(6)PFU/g.On day 16 and day 31,the same level of phage titers in different segments of the gastrointestinal tract indicated that the colonization of phages had reached saturation at day 16.These results demonstrate transient phage carriage and low-level colonization of orally administrated lytic and temperate gut phages in mice.Hongduo Bao Hui Zhang Yan Zhou Shujiao Zhu Maoda Pang Khashayar Shahin Ademola Olaniran Stefan Schmidt Ran Wang 2020Food Production, Processing and Nutrition2020,2,1:0
19Social effects of topic propagation on Weibo显示文摘Weibo,China’s largest microblogging platform,has become one of the key information-sharing platforms in modern society.This study examines topic propagation in relation to microblogging from the perspective of the“peer effect.”Using data of hot topics from Weibo,we analyze how the social effect and propagation pathway influence the topic propagation process.We propose a spatial and temporal heterogeneity diffusion model that includes endogenous and exogenous social effects and is based on but different from the Bass diffusion model.We find that most propagation pathways end after a single level of propagation.The endogenous social effect in microblogs primarily influences the inflow of topics.Such endogenous social effect,combined with the multiplier effect,motivates most users to share a microblog topic in a short period of time.The exogenous social effect primarily influences the outflow of topics,and therefore,the microblog topics of a small number of popular users’account for most of the share volume.Our results are robust to potential serial correlation,reflection problem,and potential self-selection due to user status.The findings reveal that group characteristics affect individuals’behaviors and choices in relation to the topic propagation process on microblogging platforms.The use of a spatial and temporal heterogeneity diffusion model and the robustness of the analysis process provide new information for scholars in this field.Ying Li Hongduo Cao Jiayan Li Yong Tan Zixuan Meng 2022Journal of Management Science and Engineering2022,7,4:0
20Design and performance test of a novel UAV air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spraying system显示文摘In order to improve the deposition and uniformity of the pesticide sprayed by the agricultural spraying drone,this study designed a novel spraying system,combining air-assisted spraying system with electrostatic technology.First,an air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spray system was designed for agricultural spraying drones,including a shell,a diversion shell,and an electrostatic ring.Then,experiments were conducted to optimize the setting of the main parameters that affect the charge-to-mass ratio,and outdoor spraying experiments were carried out on the spraying effect of the air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spray system.The results showed the optimum parameters were that the centrifugal rotation speed was 10000 r/min,the spray pressure was 0.3 MPa,the fan rotation speed was 14000 r/min,and the electrostatic generator voltage was 9 kV;The optimum charge-to-mass ratio of the spray system was 2.59 mC/kg.The average deposition density of droplets on the collecting platform was 366.1 particles/cm^(2) on the upper layer,345.1 particles/cm^(2) on the middle layer,and 322.5 particles/cm^(2) on the lower layer.Compared to the results of uncharged droplets on the upper,middle,and lower layers,the average deposition density was increased by 34.9%,30.4%,and 30.2%,respectively,and the uniformity of the distribution of the droplets at different collection points was better.Heming Hu Yutaka Kaizu Jingjing Huang Kenichi Furuhashi Hongduo Zhang Xu Xiao Ming Li Kenji Imou 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5:0
