| 2 | Numerical investigation on the assessment and mitigation of coal bump in an island longwall panel显示文摘This study presents a numerical investigation to assess the risk of coal bumps and produces a stress–relief technology using boreholes to mitigate risk during the extraction of an island longwall panel.Based on the geological condition in an island longwall panel in the Tangshan Coal Mine,Tangshan,China,a numerical FLAC3D(Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua in 3 Dimensions) model was established to determine and to map the zones in the panel with a high risk for coal bumps.The results of the numerical modeling show that the roof deformation starts to occur at more than 30 m ahead of the longwall face and the deformation starts to accelerate after a distance of 10 m in front of the longwall face.Large and rapid roof deformation is considered to be an important precursor of coal bump occurrence during the extraction of an island longwall panel.Based on the numerical results,a stress–relief technology using boreholes,which was employed to release abutment pressure,was investigated through numerical methods.The modeled results suggest that the peak stress concentration could be released by drilling boreholes in the zones prone to coal bumps.The effectiveness of the stress release increased with the borehole length and decreased with the borehole spacing. | Wang Hongwei Jiang Yaodong Zhu Jie Shan Ruyue Wang Chen | 2013 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,5: | 6 |
| 3 | Microstructure evolution and mechanical anisotropy of M50 steel ball bearing rings during multi-stage hot forging显示文摘This study aimed to explore the evolution of flow lines and microstructures of M50-steel bearing ring and the anisotropy of its tensile mechanical properties after Multi-Stage Hot Forging(MSHF) and subsequent spheroidizing annealing(MSHFA). To this end, the present study mainly employed stereo microscopy, Optical Metallurgical Microscopy(OMM), Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), and Electron Backscatter Diffraction(EBSD) to characterize and analyze the workpiece at each processing stage of MSHF while performing microhardness measurement and uniaxial tensile experiment to test and analyze the mechanical properties of the workpiece. Macro-structure observation showed that the simulation results of flow lines at each stage were consistent with the experimental results. Microscopic observation showed that, after MSHF, deformation gradually became less significant along the outward radial direction of the bearing ring. After MSHFA,the microstructures of the bearing ring became uniform, whereas primary carbides did not dissolve.The mechanical properties were better in the axial direction(AD) than in the radial(RD) and circumferential directions(CD) after MSHF due to the smaller grain width. | 4 | Combined amendment reduces soil Cd availability and rice Cd accumulation in three consecutive rice planting seasons显示文摘The scientific application of stabilized materials has been considered an effective method for the in situ remediation of Cd-contaminated soil.This study aimed to investigate the persistence of the effect of a combined amendment of limestone and sepiolite(LS)on soil Cd availability and accumulation in rice grown in a mildly Cd-contaminated paddy field(0.45 mg/kg of Cd)over three consecutive rice seasons.1125–4500 kg/ha of LS was applied to the soil before the first rice planting season and 562.5–2250 kg/ha of LS was supplemented before the third rice planting season.The application of LS(1125–4500 kg/ha)increased the soil p H by 0.44–1.09,0.18–0.53,and 0.42–0.68 in the first,second,and third season,respectively,and decreased the soil acid-extractable Cd content by 18.2–36.4%,17.7–33.5%,and9.6–17.6%.LS application significantly decreased the Cd contents in the rice tissues.The application of 4500 kg/ha of LS decreased the Cd content in brown rice to below the National Food Limit Standard of 0.2 mg/kg(GB 2762-2017)in the three consecutive rice seasons.However,the effect of LS on the soil-rice system was significantly weakened in the third season.The supplementary application of 562.5–2250 kg/ha of LS further decreased the Cd content in brown rice by 26.1–56.5%and decreased the health risk index by 23.7–43.8%.Therefore,it was recommended to apply 4500 kg/ha of LS in the first season and to supplement2250 kg/ha of LS in the third season to effectively guarantee the clean production of rice in three consecutive rice seasons. | Wenjun Yang Shilong Wang Hang Zhou Min Zeng Jingyi Zhang Fang Huang Shiping Shan Zhaohui Guo Hongwei Yi Zhiguang Sun Jiaofeng Gu Bohan Liao | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1: | 4 |
| 5 | New insights into the transovarial transmission of the symbiont Rickettsia in whiteflies显示文摘Endosymbiont transmission via eggs to future host generations has been recognized as the main strategy for its persistence in insect hosts;however,the mechanisms for transmission have yet to be elucidated.Here,we describe the dynamic locations of Rickettsia in the ovarioles and eggs during oogenesis and embryogenesis in a globally significant pest whitefly Bemisia tabaci.Field populations of the whitefly have a high prevalence of Rickettsia,and in all Rickettsia-infected individuals,the bacterium distributes in the body cavity of the host,especially in the midgut,fat body,hemocytes,hemolymph,and near bacteriocytes.The distribution of Rickettsia was subjected to dynamic changes in the ovary during oogenesis,and our ultrastructural observations indicated that the bacteria infect host ovarioles during early developmental stages via two routes:(i)invasion of the tropharium by endocytosis and then transmission into vitellarium via nutritive cord and(ii)entry into vitellarium by hijacking bacteriocyte translocation.Most of the Rickettsia are degraded in the oocyte cytoplasm in late-stage oogenesis.However,a few reside beneath the vitelline envelope of mature eggs,spread into the embryo,and proliferate during embryogenesis to sustain high-fidelity transmission to the next generation.Our findings provide novel insights into the maternal transmission underpinning the persistence and spread of insect symbionts. | Hongwei Shan Yinquan Liu Junbo Luan Shusheng Liu | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,7: | 3 |
| 6 | A Comparative Study of Intensive Litopenaeus vannamei Culture on Four Bottom Substrates Without Water Change显示文摘The effect of four bottom substrates, oyster shell powder(OP), sugarcane bagasse(SB), a mixture of OP and SB(OS) and fresh soil(FS), on the water quality and bacterial and zooplankton density of intensive shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei) culture tanks without water change and the growth performance of cultured shrimp were compared in this study. At the end of a 110 days culturing trial, the total ammonium-N(TAN) of the water on SB and the nitrite nitrogen(NO2-N) on OS was significantly lower than that on the other substrates(P<0.05), which coincided with the high density of ammonium- and nitrite-oxidizing bacteria in the water on SB and OS, respectively. The concentration of chlorophyll a(Chl a) increased slowly on OP, SB and OS but remained low on FS. The density of total bacteria on OP, SB and OS was one order of magnitude higher than that on FS, and the density of zooplankton on SB and OS was significantly higher than that on FS or OP(P<0.05). The improved water quality and increased density of bacteria and zooplankton on SB and OS may have had a synergistic effect on shrimp culture, improving its growth performance(high survival rate and yield and low feed conversion rate). SB and OS were more effective for improving the growth performance of intensively cultured L. vannamei without water change than OP and FS. | 14 | Meta-analysis of Therapeutic Efficacy of Purgation and Catharsis Method for Treating Severe Pneumonia显示文摘[Objectives]To make a systematic evaluation on the therapeutic efficacy of purgation and catharsis method combined with western medicine in treatment of severe pneumonia.[Methods]The literatures were retrieved from China Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese science and technology journal full-text database(VIP database,VIP),Wanfang Data,the Chinese biomedical database,PubMed,Embase,and the Cochrane Library.The retrieval time was set to the period from the creation of the database to June 2020.The randomized controlled trial(RCT)was conducted on the comparison between the purgation and catharsis method combined with western medicine and the western medicine alone in the treatment of severe pneumonia.The literature information was extracted and the methodological quality of the included literature was evaluated according to the bias risk assessment tool developed by the Cochrane Collaboration.Meta-analysis was performed with the aid of RevMan 5.3 software for the patient response rate,acute physiology and chronic health evaluations II(APACHE II),clinical pulmonary infection score(CPIS),oxygenation index(OI),procalcitonin(PCT),mechanical ventilation time,etc.[Results]A total of 20 articles were included,involving a total of 1661 patients,and the literature quality was low.Meta analysis results showed that compared with the treatment by western medicine alone,the purgation and catharsis method combined with western medicine can further improve the response rate[RR=1.21,95%CI(1.14,1.27),P<0.00001],and reduce the APACHE II score[WMD=-5.92,95%CI(-7.94,-3.89),P<0.00001],reduce CPIS score[WMD=-1.41,95%CI(-1.70,-1.12),P<0.00001],increase oxygenation index[WMD=39.52,95%CI(29.39,49.65),P<0.00001],reduce PCT level[WMD=-2.85,95%CI(-3.68,-2.01),P<0.00001],shorten the mechanical ventilation time[WMD=-13.00,95%CI(-16.51,-9.48),P<0.00001].[Conclusions]Within the scope of the study included,the purgation and catharsis method combined with western medicine in the treatment of severe pneumonia can further reduce the pulmonary infection,reduce PCT levels,increase oxygenation index,and improve vital organ functions,thereby improving clinical efficacy,shortening the mechanical ventilation time(MVT),and reducing the economic burden of patients. | Yaonan DU Hongwei TANG Caixia SHAN Zhongxin PU Shihong XU | 2021 | Medicinal Plant2021,12,3: | 0 |

The main girder adopts flat steamline steel closed box girder which has well wind-resistant capability and is technically mature besides beautiful appearance. Straight web plates of the steel box girder in longitudinal direction are proposed in order to ensure the integrity of the steel box girder, and to keep the stress of the steel box girder continuous in the middle pylon, as well as to reduce the gradient of the middle pylon columns. The cross section of the box girder has one box with three cells. Solid-web diaphragm plate with good integrity and high torsional stiffness is adopted. The lifting lugs are utilized in the anchors of suspender cable. | 16 | Elastic Modulus,Hardness,and Fracture Toughness of Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12) Solid Electrolyte显示文摘Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO) is a promising inorganic solid electrolyte due to its high Li+conductivity and electrochemical stability for all-solid-state batteries.Mechanical characterization of LLZTO is limited by the synthesis of the condensed phase.Here we systematically measure the elastic modules,hardness,and fracture toughness of LLZTO poly crystalline pellets of different densities using the customized environmental nanoindentation.The LLZTO samples are sintered using the hot-pressing method with different amounts of Li2CO3 additives,resulting in the relative density of the pellets varying from 83% to 98% and the largest grain size of 13.21 ± 5.22 μm.The mechanical properties show a monotonic increase as the sintered sample densifies,elastic modulus and hardness reach 158.47± 10.10 GPa and 11.27± 1.38 GPa,respectively,for LLZTO of 98% density.Similarly,fracture toughness increases from 0.44 to 1.51 MPa·m^(1/2),showing a transition from the intergranular to transgranular fracture behavior as the pellet density increases.The ionic conductivity reaches 4.54 × 10^(-4 )S/cm in the condensed LLZTO which enables a stable Li plating/stripping in a symmetric solid-state cell for over 100 cycles.This study puts forward a quantitative study of the mechanical behavior of LLZTO of different microstructures that is relevant to the mechanical stability and electrochemical performance of all-solid-state batteries. | Shan Hu Pengyu Xu Luize Scalco de Vasconcelos Lia Stanciu Hongwei Ni Kejie Zhao | 2021 | Chinese Physics Letters2021,38,9: | 0 |
| 17 | Could China’s journey of malaria elimination extend to Africa?显示文摘World Health Organization (WHO) certified China malaria-free on June 30, 2021, which brightens the goal of global malaria elimination efforts. China contributed its unique innovations to the global community: Artemisinin, discovered by Tu Youyou, has saved millions of lives globally;the “1-3-7” norm developed in 2012, has been adapted in the local contexts of countries in the Southeast Asia and Africa. How to the targets of Global Technical Strategy for Malaria (GTS) 2016−2030. By looking into the malaria control phase, towards elimination phase from 1960 to 2011 in sub-Saharan Africa and China, we found that the gap in malaria burden will widen unless the interventions in Africa are enhanced. It is imperative to identify the key China–Africa cooperation areas on malaria control and elimination, so that synergized efforts could be pooled together to help African countries achieve the elimination goal. | 19 | High depolarization temperature and superior piezoelectric performance with complex structural evolution in BiFeO_(3)-PbTiO_(3)-(Sr0.7Bi0.2,0.1)TiO_(3) systems显示文摘Bismuth ferriteebased ferroelectric ceramics are considered strong competitors in highetemperature piezoelectric applications that benefits from their high depolarization temperature(Td),but problems of large conductivity and low piezoelectric coefficient(d33)should be tackled.BiFeO_(3)ePbTiO_(3)ex(Sr0.7Bi0.2,0.1)TiO_(3)(BFePTexSBT)ternary system are designed in this work that successfully resolves this tough paradox.Rietveld refinements show that this system exhibits multiphase coexistence with complex structural transition among rhombohedral,tetragonal and pseudocubic phase.Interestingly,a high Td~320℃ and d33~236℃/N are synergistically optimized in x=0.20 composition near pseudoephase boundary,which are indicated by multiescale techniques(phase structure,dielectric analysis etc.).What'smore,dual electrostrain peaks appear at separate phase boundaries for x=0.20 and 0.66 compositions with distinct piezo/ferroelectric properties.Rayleigh law and piezoelectric force microscopy analysis clarify that the optimal electrostrain performance for both critical compositions are dominated by intrinsic(x=0.20)and extrinsic(x=0.66)contributions,respectively.This work not only provides a new BFePTexSBT system with a high Td and superior d33 that are promising candidates in highetemperature actuator and sensor applications,but also presents a possibility of multiphaseecoexistence established exotic macroscopic performances. | Hongwei Shi Feng Li Xinliang Yang Mingsheng Long Lei Shan Chunchang Wang Jiwei Zhai | 2022 | Journal of Materiomics2022,8,6: | 0 |
| 20 | Simulation on Peak-to-Average Power Ratio for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing显示文摘Clipping is a simple and convenient PAPR (peak-to-average power ratio) reduction method for high speed OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) communication system. In this paper, we propose a new PAPR reduction method for Wireless-MAN(metropolitan area network)-OFDM system based on IEEE 802.16, which is over-sampling clipping arithmetic. Simulation and performance of the over-samples clipping’s PAPR reduction capability, BER effect is given. The simulation indicates that the PAPR of at least 99.9% OFDM symbol is below 6dB after 2 Nyquist rate clipping, and the performance of BER has 1dB SNR(signal noise ratio) loss. The results prove that this method has better capacity to reducing PAPR.
