Type I IFN augments IL-27-dependent TRIM25 expression to inhibit HBV replication显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV)can cause chronic hepatitis B,which may lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer.Type I interferon(IFN)is an approved drug for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B.However, the fundamental mechanisms of antiviral action by type I IFN and the downstream signaling pathway are unclear.TRIM25 is an IFN-stimulated gene(ISG)that has an important role in RIG-I ubiquitination and activation.Whether TRIM25 is induced in liver cells by type I IFN to mediate anti-HBV function remains unclear. Here we report that interleukin-27(IL-27)has a critical role in IFN-induced TRIM25 upregulation.TRIM25 induction requires both STAT1 and STAT3.In TRIM25 knockout HepG2 cells, type I IFN production was consistently attenuated and HBV replication was increased, whereas overexpression of TRIM25 in HepG2 cells resulted in elevated IFN production and reduced HBV replication.More interestingly,we found that TRIM25 expression was downregulated in HBV patients and the addition of serum samples from HBV patients could inhibit TRIM25 expression in HepG2 cells, suggesting that HBV might have involved a mechanism to inhibit antiviral ISG expression and induce IFN resistance.Collectively, our results demonstrate that type I IFN-induced TRIM25 is an important factor in inhibiting HBV replication, and the IFN-IL-27-TRIM25 axis may represent a new target for treating HBV infection. | Guangyun Tan Qingfei Xiao Hongxiao Song Feng Ma Fengchao Xu Di Peng Na Li Xiaosong Wang Junqi Niu Pujun Gao F Xiao-Feng Qin Genhong Cheng | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,3: | 13

Overview of key operation factors and strategies for improving fermentative volatile fatty acid production and product regulation from sewage sludge显示文摘In recent years, volatile fatty acid(VFA)production through anaerobic fermentation of sewage sludge, instead of methane production, has been regarded as a high-value and promising roadmap for sludge stabilization and resource recovery. This review first presents the effects of some essential factors that influence VFA production and composition. In the second part,we present an extensive analysis of conventional pretreatment and co-fermentation strategies ultimately addressed to improving VFA production and composition. Also, the effectiveness of these approaches is summarized in terms of sludge degradation, hydrolysis rate, and VFA production and composition.According to published studies,it is concluded that some pretreatments such as alkaline and thermal pretreatment are the most effective ways to enhance VFA production from sewage sludge. The possible reasons for the improvement of VFA production by different methods are also discussed. Finally, this review also highlights several current technical challenges and opportunities in VFA production with spectrum control, and further related research is proposed. | Wei Fang Xuedong Zhang Panyue Zhang Jijun Wan Hongxiao Guo Dara S.M.Ghasimi Xavier Carol Morera Tao Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 9
Selective impairment in recognizing the familiarity of self faces in schizophrenia显示文摘The concept of self is a fundamental characteristic of the human mind, and the alteration of self is thought to be a core deficit of schizophrenia.Previous studies have demonstrated that patients with schizophrenia are deficient in self-face recognition.Because self faces are not only self-related but also highly familiar,it is unclear whether such deficit arises from the breakdown of the self-awareness or the failure of recognizing the familiarity of self faces. Here we directly tested these two alternatives by instructing patients with schizophrenia to recognize the identity of a morphed face created by blending face features between any of two identities from the self face,a familiar face, and a novel face.We found that there was no association between the recognition of the self and the recognition of the familiarity, suggesting these two component processes are independent in schizophrenia.Further, patients with schizophrenia were significantly worse in recognizing the familiarity of faces than normal participants, whereas no difference in the sense of self was found between the two groups.Taken together, our finding suggests that it is the sense of familiarity, not the sense of self, that is selectively impaired in self-face recognition in schizophrenia. Thus, our study challenges the hypothesis that the deficit in self-face recognition in schizophrenia reflects the breakdown of self-awareness. | ZHANG Lin ZHU Hong XU Miao JIA HongXiao LIU Jia | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,15: | 9
Adsorption of atrazine by natural organic matter and surfactant dispersed carbon nanotubes显示文摘The aggregation and dispersion behaviors of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) can regulate the environmental spread and fate of CNTs, as well as the organic pollutants adsorbed onto them. In this study, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were surface modified with humic acids from different sources and with surfactants of different ionic types. The dispersion stability of surface modified CNTs was observed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The effect of humic acid and surfactant dispersion on the adsorption of atrazine by CNTs was investigated by batch equilibrium experiments. Both humic acid and surfactant could effectively disperse MWNTs, but not SWNTs, into stable suspensions under the studied conditions. Surface modified CNTs had a greatly reduced capacity for adsorption of atrazine. The inhibitory effect of peat humic acid was relatively stronger than that of soil humic acid, but the two surfactants had a similar inhibitory effect on atrazine adsorption by the two CNT types. Increases in surfactant concentration resulted in rapid decreases in the adsorption of atrazine by CNTs when the surfactant concentration was less than 0.5 critical micelle concentration. | Baoyou Shi, Xiaoyan Zhuang, Xiaomin Yan, Jiajuan Lu, Hongxiao Tang State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100085, China. | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,8: | 7
Catalytic performance of hierarchical H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 for methanol dehydration to dimethyl ether显示文摘Micro-mesoporous composite molecular sieves H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 were prepared by the hydrothermal technique with alkali-treated H-ZSM-5zeolite as the source and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,N2 adsorption-desorption measurement and NH3 temperature-programmed desorption. The catalytic performances for the methanol dehydration to dimethyl ether over H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 were evaluated.Among these catalysts,H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 prepared with NaOH dosage (nNa/nSi) varying from 0.4 to 0.47 presented excellent catalytic activity with more than 80%methanol conversion and 100%dimethyl ether selectivity in a wide temperature range of 170—300℃,and H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 prepared with nNa/nSi=0.47 showed constant methanol conversion of about 88.7%,100% dimethyl ether selectivity and excellent lifetime at 220℃.The excellent catalytic performances were due to the highly active and uniform acidic sites and the hierarchical porosity in the micro-mesoporous composite molecular sieves. The catalytic mechanism of H-ZSM-5/MCM-41 for the methanol dehydration to dimethyl ether process was also discussed. | Yu Sang Hongxiao Liu Shichao He Hansheng Li Qingze Jiao Qin Wu Kening Sun | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,5: | 7

In vivo toxicity of nano-C_60 aggregates complex with atrazine to aquatic organisms显示文摘The present study aims at investigating the potential impacts of the nC60 complex with atrazine on the development of Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) embryos and chronic toxicity to D. magna. Although exposure to nC60 below 8 mg/L had no effects on the hatching rate of medaka embryos, it increased the deformity of hatched larvae. Moreover, the presence of nC60 significantly increased the hatching time of the embryos exposed to atrazine. 14-day exposure of D. magna to nC60 significantly reduced offspring production even at a concentration as low as 0.5 mg/L. This indicates that nC60 is able to reduce the ability of D. magna to produce offspring, and therefore would have an impact on population. For atrazine, no significant difference in offspring production was observed. The nC60 complex with atrazine was also found to significantly decrease the reproduction of D. magna, which was similar to the result of exposure to nC60. These results suggest that nC60 would have potential risks to aquatic organisms. Therefore, much attention should be paid to their associations with other contaminants for fullerene's risk assessment. | YAN XiaoMin ZHA JinMiao SHI BaoYou WANG DongSheng WANG ZiJian TANG HongXiao | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,4: | 5
Impact of the equivalent center of mass separating from the sliding surface on the isolation performance of friction pendulum bearings显示文摘A new equivalent center of mass model of FPBs(friction pendulum bearings) is introduced, and based on this model, coefficient j of the equivalent center of mass separating from the sliding surface is defined. It is thought in theory that j has a significant impact on the isolation parameter of FPBs, since the equivalent post-yielding stiffness and friction coefficients are not simply determined by sliding radius and sliding friction pairs. The results of numerical simulation analysis using ABAQUS conducted on two groups of FPBs support this viewpoint. For FPBs with the same sliding radius and sliding friction pairs, the FPB modules of structural analysis software such as ETABS could only distinguish the equivalent transformation using j one by one. The seismic response data obtained in a base isolation calculation example of FPBs are very different, which reveals that j's impact on the isolation effectiveness of FPBs cannot be ignored. The introduction of j will help improve the classical structural theory of FPBs and the weak points of structural analysis software based on this theory, which is important in achieving more accurate analyses in structural design. | Xia Junyong Ning Xiangliang Tan Ping Hao Hongxiao Chen Guoping | 2015 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2015,14,4: | 5
Substitute of Expensive Pt with Improved Electrocatalytic Performance and Higher Resistance to CO Poisoning for Methanol Oxidation: the Case of Synergistic Pt-Co_3O_4 Nanocomposite显示文摘In this paper, Pt-Co_3O_4 nanocomposite was synthesized by a sol gel process combined with electrodeposition method. Its electrocatalytic activity towards methanol oxidation was investigated at room temperature using cyclic voltammetry(CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and current density time curve. It is found that the resultant Pt-Co_3O_4 catalysts with minute amount of Pt exhibite attractive electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation reaction(MOR) but with a high resistance CO poisoning due to the synergistic effects from Pt and Co_3O_4. Together with the low manufacturing cost of Co_3O_4, the reported nanostructured Pt-Co_3O_4 catalyst is expected to be a promising electrode material for direct methanol fuel cells(DMFC). | Hongxiao Zhao Zhi Zheng Jing Li Huimin Jia Ka-wai Wong Yidong Zhang Woon Ming Lau | 2013 | Nano-Micro Letters2013,5,4: | 3
Equilibrium Phase Constituents and Discontinuous Precipitation Behavior of Al-Zn-Cu Alloy with Symmetrical Composition显示文摘Through microstructure observation and X-ray diffraction analysis, the equilibrium phase constituents of Al-Zn alloythat contains 2 at. pct Cu at room temperature have been determined as Al-based solid solution (α), Zn-based solidsolution and Al4Cu3Zn phase (T′-phase), which are different from α phase, Zn phase and CuZn4 phase originallybelieved. It is determined that the products of discontinuous precipitation transformation below 277℃ are not theequilibrium phase constituents, but the metastable phases made up of α phase, Zn phase and CuZn4 phase. Thephase constituents after discontinuous precipitation of AlZn-2Cu alloy would transform to the ones in equilibriumstatus: Al-based solid solution (c) in fcc structure, Zn-based solid solution in hcp structure and Al4Cu3Zn phase(T′-phase) ultimately through plastic deformation at room temperature and re-heating treatment below 277℃. | Shiming HAO, Yuping REN, Hua DING, Dapeng WANG, Gang ZHAO and Hongxiao LISchool of Materials and Metallurgy, Northeastern University, Shenyang 110004, China | 2003 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2003,19,5: | 3

Respiratory Control by Phox2b-expressing Neurons in a Locus Coeruleus–pre B?tzinger Complex Circuit显示文摘The locus coeruleus(LC) has been implicated in the control of breathing.Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome results from mutation of the paired-like homeobox 2 b(Phox2 b) gene that is expressed in LC neurons. The present study was designed to address whether stimulation of Phox2 b-expressing LC(Phox2 b~(LC)) neurons affects breathing and to reveal the putative circuit mechanism.A Cre-dependent viral vector encoding a Gqcoupled human M3 muscarinic receptor(hM3 Dq) was delivered into the LC of Phox2 b-Cre mice. The hM3 Dqtransduced neurons were pharmacologically activated while respiratory function was measured by plethysmography. We demonstrated that selective stimulation of Phox2 b~(LC) neurons significantly increased basal ventilation in conscious mice.Genetic ablation of these neurons markedly impaired hypercapnic ventilatory responses. Moreover, stimulation of Phox2 b~(LC) neurons enhanced the activity of preBotzinger complex neurons. Finally, axons of Phox2 b~(LC) neurons projected to the preBotzinger complex.Collectively,Phox2 b~(LC) neurons contribute to the control of breathing most likely via an LC-preBotzinger complex circuit. | Na Liu Congrui Fu Hongxiao Yu Yakun Wang Luo Shi Yinchao Hao Fang Yuan Xiangjian Zhang Sheng Wang | 2021 | Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,1: | 3
Type III interferon-induced CBFβinhibits HBV replication by hijacking HBx显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV)and its associated chronic infection remain serious health threats worldwide. However, there is still no impactful approach for clinical treatment of hepatitis B patients. Therefore, developing a better understanding of the interactions between HBV and its host is particularly important.HBV infection has been reported to induce type-III but not type-I or type-II interferon(IFN).In this study,we identified CBFβ,an HIV enhancer,as an HBV restriction factor that is specifically induced by type-III IFN in the early stages of HBV infection.Type-III IFN-induced IL-10 played an important role in the production of CBFβ.Interestingly, the interaction between CBFβ-and HBV-encoded regulatory protein X(HBx)enhanced the stability of CBFβ,but notably blocked HBx-mediated promotion of HBV replication.CBFβexpression was lower in HBV patients than in healthy persons, and the addition of serum from HBV patients inhibited CBFβexpression in HepG2 cells. On the contrary,HBV via HBsAg inhibited type-III IFN-induced CBFβexpression and decreased the anti-HBV activity of type-III IFN,suggesting that HBV inhibits antiviral interferon-stimulated gene(ISG)expression and induces IFN resistance.Collectively, our results demonstrate that type-III IFN-triggered and IL-10-induced CBFβare crucial factors for inhibiting HBV replication, and the HBx–CBFβ–HBsAg axis reveals a new molecular mechanism of interaction between HBV and its hosts. | Fengchao Xu Hongxiao Song Qingfei Xiao Na Li Hong Zhang Genhong Cheng Guangyun Tan | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,4: | 3

Self-supporting Co_(0.85)Se nanosheets anchored on Co plate as highly efficient electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction in both acidic and alkaline media显示文摘Electrocatalytic water splitting via hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)represents one of promising strategies to gain hydrogen energy. In current work,self-supporting Co_(0.85)Se nanosheets network anchored on Co plate(Co_(0.85)Se NSs@Co)is fabricated by employing easily tailorable Co metal plate as the source conductive substrate. The scalable dealloying and hydrothermal selenization strategy was employed to build one layer of three dimensional interlinking Co_(0.85)Se nanosheets network on the surface of Co plate.Benefiting from bulky integrated architecture and rich active sites, the as-made Co_(0.85)Se NSs@Co exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity and long-term catalytic durability toward HER.It only requires lower overpotentials of 121 and 162 mV to drive the current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for hydrogen evolution in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4)and 1 M KOH solution.Especially,no evident activity decay occurs upon 1,500 cycles or continuous test for 20 h at 10 mA·cm^(−2)in both acidic and alkaline electrolytes. With the merits of exceptional performances, scalable production, and low cost, the self-supporting Co0.85Se NSs@Co holds prospective application potential as stable and binder-free electrocatalysts for hydrogen generation in a wide range of electrolyte. | Rong Qin Jiagang Hou Caixia Xu Hongxiao Yang Qiuxia Zhou Zizhong Chen Hong Liu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,11: | 2
| 19 | ARNOLD CIRCULATION AND MULTI-OPTIMAL DYNAMIC CONTROLLING MECHANISMS IN DRAGONFLY WINGS显示文摘This paper aims to reveal the multi-optimal mechanisms for dynamic control in drag- onfly wings. By combining the Arnold circulation with such micro/nano structures as the hollow inside constructions of the pterostigma, veins and spikes, dragonfly wings can create variable mass, variable rotating inertia and variable natural frequency. This marvelous ability enables dragonflies to overcome the contradictory requirements of both light-weight-wing and heavy-weight-wing, and displays the multi-optimal mechanisms for the excellent flying ability and dynamic control capacity of dragonflies.
