1Effect of heat treatment on LPSO morphology and mechanical properties of Mg-Zn-Y-Gd alloys显示文摘The mechanical properties and microstructure were investigated under different Zn content and heat treatment conditions in a Mg-Zn-YGd cast alloy.A part of the long period stacking order(LPSO)phases transformed to W-M^ZnaRE?phases with an increase in Zn content from 0.9 at.%to 1.8 at.%,and the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)increased from 229 MPa to 248 MPa.With solution treatment at 480°C,the content of the LPSO phase and strength sharply decreased in the Mg-1.8Zn-0.8Y-0.8Gd alloy,whereas this change was not significantly observed in the Mg-0.9Zn-O.8Y-O.8Gd alloy.After solution treatment,the elongation significantly improved and the UTS sharply decreased in both alloys.The lamellar and filminess LPSO phases were observed with aging treatment at 200℃.Moreover,the strengthening efficiency of lamellar and filminess LPSO phases was lower than that of the block LPSO phases.Therefore,the UTS of the T6 state was lower than that of the as-cast alloy.Hongxin Liao Jonghyun Kim Taekyung Lee Jiangfeng Song Jian Peng Bin Jiang Fusheng Pan 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,4:14

3Two Ultraviolet Radiation Datasets that Cover China显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV) radiation has significant effects on ecosystems, environments, and human health, as well as atmospheric processes and climate change. Two ultraviolet radiation datasets are described in this paper. One contains hourly observations of UV radiation measured at 40 Chinese Ecosystem Research Network stations from 2005 to 2015. CUV3 broadband radiometers were used to observe the UV radiation, with an accuracy of 5%, which meets the World Meteorology Organization's measurement standards. The extremum method was used to control the quality of the measured datasets. The other dataset contains daily cumulative UV radiation estimates that were calculated using an all-sky estimation model combined with a hybrid model. The reconstructed daily UV radiation data span from 1961 to 2014. The mean absolute bias error and root-mean-square error are smaller than 30% at most stations, and most of the mean bias error values are negative, which indicates underestimation of the UV radiation intensity. These datasets can improve our basic knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations in UV radiation. 5Real-time programmable metasurface for terahertz multifunctional wave front engineering显示文摘Terahertz(THz)technologies have become a focus of research in recent years due to their prominent role in envisioned future communication and sensing systems.One of the key challenges facing the field is the need for tools to enable agile engineering of THz wave fronts.Here,we describe a reconfigurable metasurface based on GaN technology with an array-of-subarrays architecture.This subwavelength-spaced array,under the control of a 1-bit digital coding sequence,can switch between an enormous range of possible configurations,providing facile access to nearly arbitrary wave front control for signals near 0.34 THz.We demonstrate wide-angle beam scanning with 1°of angular precision over 70 GHz of bandwidth,as well as the generation of multi-beam and diffuse wave fronts,with a switching speed up to 100 MHz.This device,offering the ability to rapidly reconfigure a propagating wave front for beam-forming or diffusively scattered wide-angle coverage of a scene,will open new realms of possibilities in sensing,imaging,and networking.Feng Lan Luyang Wang Hongxin Zeng Shixiong Liang Tianyang Song Wenxin Liu Pinaki Mazumder Ziqiang Yang Yaxin Zhang Daniel M.Mittleman 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,9:1

7Heterogeneous catalytic ozonation by amorphous boron for degradation of atrazine in water显示文摘As one of the most promising and practical advanced oxidation processes(AOPs),the catalytic ozonation is triggered by the active components of catalyst,which are usually derived from metals or metal oxides.To avoid the metal pollution from catalyst,here the amorphous boron(A-boron)is used as a metalfree catalyst for catalytic ozonation to produce free radicals for effective degradation of atrazine(ATZ),the world-widely used herbicide and also a widespread pollutant in environment.A-boron exhibits an outstanding performance for catalytic ozonation to remove ATZ from water.As A-boron is introduced into ozonation,the degradation efficiency in 10 min is promoted to 97.1%,much higher than that of 15.1%under ozonation.The mechanism is that the B-B bonds and internal suboxide B in A-boron serve as the main active sites to donate electrons to accelerate ozone decomposition to produce reactive oxygen species(ROS),including·O_(2)^(-)and^(1)O_(2),and further enhance ATZ degradation via ROS reactions.Moreover,the A-boron is still highly active with a degradation efficiency of ATZ over 95%in 10 min even after four successive cycles.This work shows A-boron could be an alternative for the active components of metal or metal oxide in catalytic ozonation.Zirong Song Jie Li Hongxin Xu Yu Li Yaxiong Zeng Baohong Guan 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,5:1

13Legionella pneumophila temporally regulates the activity of ADP/ATP translocases by reversible ADP-ribosylation显示文摘The mitochondrion is an important signaling hub that governs diverse cellular functions,including metabolism,energy production,and immunity.Among the hundreds of effectors translocated into host cells by the Dot/Icm system of Legionella pneumophila,several are targeted to mitochondria but the function of most of them remains elusive.Our recent study found that the effector Ceg3 inhibits the activity of ADP/ATP translocases(ANTs)by ADP-ribosylation(ADPR).Here,we show that the effect of Ceg3 is antagonized by Larg1,an effector encoded by lpg0081,a gene that is situated next to ceg3.Larg1 functions to reverse Ceg3-mediated ADPR of ANTs by cleaving the N-glycosidic bond between the ADPR moiety and the modified arginine residues in ANTs,leading to restoration of their activity in ADP/ATP exchange.Structural analysis of Larg1 and its complex with ADPR reveals that this ADPR glycohydrolase harbors a unique macrodomain that catalyzes the removal of ADPR modification on ANTs.Our results also demonstrate that together with Ceg3,Larg1 imposes temporal regulation of the activity of ANTs by reversible ADPR during L.pneumophila infection.Jiaqi Fu Pengwei Li Hongxin Guan Dan Huang Lei Song Songying Ouyang Zhao-Qing Luo 2022mLife2022,1,1:1

18Dual-band multifunctional coding metasurface with a mingled anisotropic aperture for polarized manipulation in full space显示文摘Integrated metasurfaces with diversified functionalities have demonstrated promising prospects for comprehensive implementations in compact 5G/6G communication systems by flexibly manipulating electromagnetic(EM)waves. Increasingly emerged multifunctional metasurfaces have successfully revealed integrated wavefront manipulations via phase gradient arrays, coding apertures, independent polarization control, asymmetric transmission/reflection, etc. However, multifunctional metasurfaces with more degrees of freedom in terms of multi-band/broadband operation frequencies, full-space coverage, and computable array factors are still in dire demand.As a step forward in extending manipulation dimensions, we propose and corroborate a dual-band multifunctional coding metasurface for anomalous reflection, radar cross-section reduction, and vortex beam generation through full-wave analysis and experiment. Our tri-layer meta-device comprises a shared coding aperture of splitring and cross-shaped resonators sandwiched between two layers of orthogonal wire gratings. With an approach of independent control of a reflection–transmission wavefront under orthogonal polarization states and Fabry–Perot-like constructive interference, the low-cross-talk shared coding aperture features a smooth phase shift and high efficiency for 3-bit coding in the K-band and 1-bit coding in the Ka-band.
