1Factors influencing peak bone mass gain显示文摘Bone mass is a key determinant of osteoporosis and fragility fractures.Epidemiologic studies have shown that a 10%increase in peak bone mass(PBM)at the population level reduces the risk of fracture later in life by 50%.Low PBM is possibly due to the bone loss caused by various conditions or processes that occur during adolescence and young adulthood.Race,gender,and family history(genetics)are responsible for the majority of PBM,but other factors,such as physical activity,calcium and vitamin D intake,weight,smoking and alcohol consumption,socioeconomic status,age at menarche,and other secondary causes(diseases and medications),play important roles in PBM gain during childhood and adolescence.Hence,the optimization of lifestyle factors that affect PBM and bone strength is an important strategy to maximize PBM among adolescents and young people,and thus to reduce the low bone mass or osteoporosis risk in later life.This review aims to summarize the available evidence for the common but important factors that influence bone mass gain during growth and development and discuss the advances of developing high PBM.Xiaowei Zhu Houfeng Zheng 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,1:17
2Chinese multi-document personal name disambiguation显示文摘This paper presents a new approach to determining whether an interested personal name across documents refers to the same entity. Firstly, three vectors for each text are formed: the personal name Boolean vectors denoting whether a personal name occurs in the text, the biographical word Boolean vector representing title, occupation and so forth, and the feature vector with real values. Then, by combining a heuristic strategy based on Boolean vectors with an agglomerative clustering algorithm based on feature vectors, it seeks to resolve multi-document personal name coreference. 3Twelve years of GWAS discoveries for osteoporosis and related traits: advances, challenges and applications显示文摘Osteoporosis is a common skeletal disease,affecting-200 million people around the world.As a complex disease,osteoporosis is influenced by many factors,including diet(e.g.calcium and protein intake),physical activity,endocrine status,coexisting diseases and genetic factors.In this review,we first summarize the discovery from genome-wide association studies(GWASs)in the bone field in the last 12 years.To date,GWASs and meta-analyses have discovered hundreds of loci that are associated with bone mineral density(BMD),osteoporosis,and osteoporotic fractures.However,the GWAS approach has sometimes been criticized because of the small effect size of the discovered variants and the mystery of missing heritability,these two questions could be partially explained by the newly raised conceptual models,such as omnigenic model and natural selection.Finally,we introduce the clinical use of GWAS findings in the bone field,such as the identification of causal clinical risk factors,the development of drug targets and disease prediction.Despite the fruitful GWAS discoveries in the bone field,most of these GWAS participants were of European descent,and more genetic studies should be carried out in other ethnic populations to benefit disease prediction in the corresponding population.Xiaowei Zhu Weiyang Bai Houfeng Zheng 2021Bone Research2021,9,3:5
4A Review of Co-processing of Kitchen Waste and Municipal Residual Sludge显示文摘In this paper,the methods of kitchen waste disposal in recent years were summed up,and the advantages and disadvantages of the current treatment methods were analyzed. At the same time,it has been found that the co-processing of kitchen waste and residual sludge not only has dealt with both kitchen waste and residual sludge,but also the carbon and nitrogen ratio and moisture content of the mixture are balanced,and increases the processing efficiency significantly. It has a certain processing advantage. At present,most research is about the anaerobic digestion of kitchen waste and residual sludge,and the process is more mature,but the study of VFAs accumulation is still insufficient. Aerobic composting is still in the early stage of development,and there are few studies on it at home and abroad. 5Measurement of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxide concentrations during autumn in Beijing, China显示文摘Gaseous peroxides play important roles in atmospheric chemistry. To understand the pathways of the formation and removal of peroxides, atmospheric peroxide concentrations and their controlling factors were measured from 7:00 to 20:00 in September, October, and November 2013 at a heavily trafficked residential site in Beijing, China, with average concentrations of hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and methyl hydroperoxide(MHP) at 0.55 ppb and 0.063 ppb, respectively. H_2O_2 concentrations were higher in the afternoon and lower in the morning and evening, while MHP concentrations did not exhibit a regular diurnal pattern. Both H_2O_2 and MHP concentrations increased at dusk in most cases. Both peroxides displayed monthly variations with higher concentrations in September. These results suggested that photochemical activity was the main controlling factor on variations of H_2O_2 concentrations during the measurement period. Increasing concentrations of volatile organic compounds emitted by motor vehicles were important contributors to H_2O_2 and MHP enrichment. 9Fouling process and anti-fouling mechanisms of dynamic membrane assisted by photocatalytic oxidation under sub-critical fluxes显示文摘Membrane fouling is often considered as a hindrance for the application of microfiltration/ultrafiltration(MF/UF) for drinking water production. A novel process of photocatalytic membrane reactor/dynamic membrane(PMR/DM), operating in a continuous mode under sub-critical flux, was proposed for the mitigation of membrane fouling caused by humic acids(HAs) in water. The mechanism of membrane fouling alleviation with synergistic photocatalytic oxidation and dynamic layer isolating effect was comprehensively investigated from the characterization of foulant evolution responsible for the reversible and irreversible fouling. The results showed that the PMR/DM utilized photocatalytic oxidation to enhance the porosity and hydrophilicity of the fouling layer by converting the high molecular weight(MW) and hydrophobic HA molecules with carboxylic functional groups and aromatic structures into low-MW hydrophilic or transphilic fractions, including tryptophan-like or fulvic-like substances. The fouling layer formed in the PMR/DM by combination of photocatalytic oxidation and DM running at a sub-critical flux of 100 L·h^-1·m^-2, was more hydrophilic and more porous, resulting in the lowest trans-membrane pressure(TMP) growth rates, as compared to the processes of ceramic membrane(CM), DM and PMR/CM.Meanwhile, the dynamic layer prevented the foulants, particularly the high-MW hydrophobic fractions,from contacting the primary membrane, which enabled the membrane permeability to be restored easily.Tao Yang Fen Liu Houfeng Xiong Qiyong Yang Fushan Chen Changchao Zhan 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,8:1
