1A putative 6-transmembrane nitrate transporter OsNRT1.1b plays a key role in rice under low nitrogen显示文摘OsNRT1.1a is a low-affinity nitrate(NO_3^-) transporter gene. In this study, another mRNA splicing product, OsNRT1.1b,putatively encoding a protein with six transmembrane domains, was identified based on the rice genomic database and bioinformatics analysis. OsNRT1.1a/OsNRT1.1b expression in Xenopus oocytes showed OsNRT1.1a-expressing oocytes accumulated ^(15)N levels to about half as compared to OsNRT1.1bexpressing oocytes. The electrophysiological recording of OsNRT1.1b-expressing oocytes treated with 0.25 mM NO_3^- confirmed ^(15)N accumulation data. More functional assays were performed to examine the function of OsNRT1.1b in rice. The expression of both OsNRT1.1a and OsNRT1.1b was abundant in roots and downregulated by nitrogen(N) deficiency. The shoot biomass of transgenic rice plants with OsNRT1.1a or OsNRT1.1b overexpression increased under various N supplies under hydroponic conditions compared to wild-type(WT). The OsNRT1.1a overexpression lines showed increased plant N accumulation compared to the WT in 1.25 mM NH_4NO_3 and 2.5 mM NO_3^- or NH_4^+ treatments, but not in 0.125 mM NH_4NO_3.However, OsNRT1.1b overexpression lines increased total N accumulation in all N treatments, including 0.125 m M NH_4NO_3,suggesting that under low N condition, OsNRT1.1b would accumulate more N in plants and improve rice growth, but also that OsNRT1.1a had no such function in rice plants.Xiaorong Fan Huimin Feng Yawen Tan Yanling Xu Qisong Miao Guohua Xu 2016Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2016,58,6:21
2IL-17A-dependent gut microbiota is essential for regulating diet-induced disorders in mice显示文摘The gut microbiota plays a key role in obesity and related metabolic disorders, and multiple factors including diet, host genotype, and age regulate it. Many studies have examined the contribution of extrinsic factors to the regulation of the gut microbiota, but the importance of the host genetic constitution cannot be ignored. Interleukin 17A(IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is important in the defense against infection and diseases. Here, we investigated the association among IL-17, a high-fat diet(HFD), and the gut microbiota. Mice deficient in IL-17A were resistant to diet-induced obesity and related diseases. Compared with the Ⅱ-17^(-/-)mice, wild-type(WT) mice challenged with HFD showed obvious weight fluctuations, such as those seen in type 2 diabetes, and hematological changes similar to those associated with metabolic syndrome. However, housing WT mice and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice together significantly alleviated these symptoms in the WT mice. A metagenomic analysis of the mouse feces indicated that the microbial community compositions of these two groups differed before HFD feeding. The HFD mediated shifts in the gut microbial compositions, which were associated with the mouse phenotypes.We also identified potentially beneficial and harmful species present during this period, and drew networks of the most abundant species. A functional analysis indicated pathway changes in the WT and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice when fed the HFD. 3A Streptococcus suis serotype 2 caused streptococcal toxic shock syndrome(STSS) in a patient显示文摘Streptococcus suis(S.suis)is a Gram-positive,facultatively anaerobic coccus that has been implicated as the cause of a wide range of clinical disease syndromes in swine and other domestic animals.S.suis has also been implicated in disease in humans,especially among abattoir workers,swine and pork handlers.Here we report a case of streptococcal toxic shock syndrome(STSS)caused by S.suis in a 59-year-old man.Despite of intensive treatment,the patient died of shock with multiple organ failure 14 h after admission.One bacterial isolate obtained from blood culture was identified to the species level by biochemical tests and serological tests as S.suis serotype 2.Identification was confirmed by PCR amplification of genes encoding 16sRNA of S.suis and the capsule of S.suis serotype 2(cps 2J).Genes encoding virulence factors were also detected.An investigation to identify the source of S.suis revealed that several days before admission the affected man had been handling sick pigs or their meat.Transmission may occur through breaks in the skin of feet with tinea due to that no measures for personal protection was taken.This case should highten awareness of the potential for occupational exposure and human infection with S.suis.Yefei Zhu Zhongmin Tan Lingyang Zhu Hongxing Pan Xuejun Zhang Lei Xu Huimin Qian Ling Gu Xun Ye Chen Dong Changjun Bao Rongqiang Zhu Fengcai Zhu Hua Wang 2008Journal of Nanjing Medical University2008,22,5:3
4Study on the specific interaction between angiogenin and aptamer by atomic force microscopy (AFM)显示文摘The specific interaction between angiogenin and aptamer has been investigated by using AFM. The specificity of the interaction is revealed by comparing the binding probability of aptamer to other ele- ments in a series of control experiments. The results have shown that there is specific interaction force between angiogenin and aptamer. Moreover, the single molecular pull-off force between angiogenin and aptamer has also been determined using the Poisson statistical method to be 133.7±11.7 pN. 11Remarkably enhanced piezo-photocatalytic performance in BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructures for organic pollutant degradation显示文摘Introducing polarization field of piezoelectric materials is an effective strategy to improve photocatalytic performance.In this study,a new type of BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure catalyst was designed and synthesized to achieve high piezo-photocatalytic activity through the synergy of heterojunction and piezoelectric effect.The BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure shows a significantly enhanced piezo-photocatalytic degradation efficiency of organic pollutants compared with the individual BaTiO_(3) nanowires(NWs)and CuO nanoparticles(NPs).Under the co-excitation of ultrasonic vibration and ultraviolet radiation,the optimal degradation reaction rate constant k of polarized BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure on methyl orange(MO)dye can reach 0.05 min^(−1),which is 6.1 times of photocatalytic rate and 7 times of piezocatalytic rate.The BaTiO_(3)/CuO heterostructure with remarkable piezo-photocatalytic behavior provides a promising strategy for the development of high-efficiency catalysts for wastewater purification,and it also helps understand the coupling mechanism between piezoelectric effect and photocatalysis.Chenye YU Mengxi TAN Chengdong TAO Yuxuan HU Chuanbao LIU Huimin MENG Yanjing SU Lijie QIAO Yang BAI 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,3:1
