5The“A”of FAIR-As Open as Possible,as Closed as Necessary显示文摘In order to provide responsible access to health data by reconciling benefits of data sharing with privacy rights and ethical and regulatory requirements,Findable,Accessible,Interoperable and Reusable(FAIR)metadata should be developed.According to the H2020 Program Guidelines on FAIR Data,data should be'as open as possible and as closed as necessary','open'in order to foster the reusability and to accelerate research,but at the same time they should be'closed'to safeguard the privacy of the subjects.Additional provisions on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data have been endorsed by the European General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR),Reg(EU)2016/679,that came into force in May 2018.This work aims to solve accessibility problems related to the protection of personal data in the digital era and to achieve a responsible access to and responsible use of health data.We strongly suggest associating each data set with FAIR metadata describing both the type of data collected and the accessibility conditions by considering data protection obligations and ethical and regulatory requirements.Finally,an existing FAIR infrastructure component has been used as an example to explain how FAIR metadata could facilitate data sharing while ensuring protection of individuals.Annalisa Landi Mark Thompson Viviana Giannuzzi Fedele Bonifazi Ignasi Labastida Luiz Olavo Bonino da Silva Santos Marco Roos 2020Data Intelligence2020,2,1:4

7Resection of the uncinate process of the pancreas due to a ganglioneuroma显示文摘A 33-year-old woman who presented with epigastric discomfort and diarrhea underwent an abdominal ultrasound(US).This investigation and subsequent contrastenhanced computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging and endoscopic US with fine needle aspiration (FNA)revealed a 40 mm well-circumscribed mass in the uncinate process of the pancreas.Findings were suggestive of a mucinous or solid-cystic pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas,although other lesions such as a nonfunctioning neuroendocrine tumor could not be ruled out.FNA samples were negative for malignant cells,but of limited value due to poor cellularity.It was decided to surgically remove the tumor because malignancy could not be discounted.Multiple intraoperative biopsies were suggestive of mesenchymal tumor and consequently a conservative resection(uncinatectomy)was performed. The postoperative course was uneventful.The definitive diagnosis was ganglioneuroma.Immunocytochemistry showed positive staining with vimentin,S-100 protein, neurofilament and neuron-specific enolase.Ganglioneuroma is a rare benign tumor that can also present as a pancreatic tumor.Uncinatectomy is feasible,safe and a good surgical technique for the treatment of nonmalignant tumors located in the uncinate process of the pancreas.Ignasi Poves Fernando Burdío Mar Iglesias María de los ángeles Martínez-Serrano Guadalupe Aguilar Luís Grande 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,34:3
8Interaction of silver nanoparticles with mediterranean agricultural soils: Lab-controlled adsorption and desorption studies显示文摘The production of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) has increased tremendously during recent years due to their antibacterial and physicochemical properties. As a consequence, these particles are released inevitably into the environment, with soil being the main sink of disposal. Soil interactions have an effect on AgNP mobility, transport and bioavailability. To understand AgNP adsorption processes, lab-controlled kinetic studies were performed.Batch tests performed with five different Mediterranean agricultural soils showed that cation exchange capacity and electrical conductivity are the main parameters controlling the adsorption processes. The adsorption kinetics of different sized(40, 75, 100 and 200 nm)and coated(citrate, polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyethyleneglycol(PEG)) AgNPs indicated that these nanoparticle properties have also an effect on the adsorption processes.To assess the mobility and bioavailability of AgNPs and to determine if their form is maintained during adsorption/desorption processes, loaded soils were submitted to leaching tests three weeks after batch adsorption studies. The DIN 38414-S4 extraction method indicated that AgNPs were strongly retained on soils, and single-particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry confirmed that silver particles maintained their nanoform, except for 100 nm PEG-AgNPs and 40 nm citrate-coated AgNPs. 9Licensing FAIR Data for Reuse显示文摘The last letter of the FAIR acronym stands for Reusability.Data and metadata should be made available with a clear and accessible usage license.But,what are the choices?How can researchers share data and allow reusability?Are all the licenses available for sharing content suitable for data?Data can be covered by different layers of copyright protection making the relationship between data and copyright particularly complex.Some research data can be considered as a work and therefore covered by full copyright while other data can be in the public domain due to their lack of originality.Moreover,a collection of data can be protected by special rights in Europe to acknowledge the investment in time and money in obtaining,presenting,arranging or verifying the data.The need of using a license when sharing data comes from the fact that,under current copyright laws,when rights exist,the absence of any legal notice must be understood as the default“all rights reserved”regime.Unless an exception applies,the authorisation of right holders is necessary for reuse.Right holders could use any text to state the reusability of data but it is advisable to use some of the existing licenses,and especially the ones that are suitable for data and databases.We hope that with this paper we can bring some clarity in relation to the rights involved when sharing research data.Ignasi Labastida Thomas Margoni 2020Data Intelligence2020,2,1:2

11High-density mapping suggests cytoplasmic male sterility with two restorer genes in almond×peach progenies显示文摘Peach(Prunus persica)and almond(Prunus dulcis)are two sexually compatible species that produce fertile offspring.Almond,a highly polymorphic species,is a potential source of new genes for peach that has a strongly eroded gene pool.Here we describe the genetics of a male sterile phenotype that segregated in two almond(‘Texas’)×peach(‘Earlygold’)progenies:an F2(T×E)and a backcross one(T1E)to the‘Earlygold’parent.High-density maps were developed using a 9k peach SNP chip and 135 simple-sequence repeats.Three highly syntenic and collinear maps were obtained:one for the F2(T×E)and two for the backcross,T1E(for the hybrid)and E(for‘Earlygold’).A major reduction of recombination was observed in the interspecific maps(T×E and T1E)compared to the intraspecific parent(E).The E map also had extensive monomorphic genomic regions suggesting the presence of large DNA fragments identical by descent.Our data for the male sterility character were consistent with the existence of cytoplasmic male sterility,where individuals having the almond cytoplasm required the almond allele in at least one of two independent restorer genes,Rf1 and Rf2,to be fertile.The restorer genes were located in a 3.4 Mbp fragment of linkage group 2(Rf1)and 1.4 Mbp of linkage group 6(Rf2).Both fragments contained several genes coding for pentatricopeptide proteins,demonstrated to be responsible for restoring fertility in other species.The implications of these results for using almond as a source of novel variability in peach are discussed.JoséManuel Donoso Iban Eduardo Roger Picañol Ignasi Batlle Werner Howad María JoséAranzana Pere Arús 2015Horticulture Research2015,2,1:1
