| 4 | Microstructure and mechanical optimization of probeless friction stir spot welded joint of an Al-Li alloy显示文摘In this work, a third generation Al-Li alloy has been successfully spot welded with probeless friction stir spot welding(P-FSSW), which is a variant of conventional friction stir welding. The Box-Behnken experimental design in response surface methodology(RSM) was applied to optimize the P-FSSW parameters to attain maximum tensile/shear strength of the spot joints. Results show that an optimal failure load of7.83 kN was obtained under a dwell time of 7.2 s, rotation speed of 950 rpm and plunge rate of 30 mm/min.Sufficient dwell time is essential for heat conduction, material flow and expansion of the stir zone to form a sound joint. Two fracture modes were observed, which were significantly affected by hook defect.In addition to mechanical testing, electron backscattering diffraction(EBSD) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) were used for microstructure evolution and property analysis. | 15 | Influence of Re on the Properties of a NiCoCrAlY Coating Alloy显示文摘MCrAlY can serve as stand-alone overlay coatings or bond coats in thermal barrier coating systems, and its properties play a vital role in determining the performance of these coating systems. In order to further understand the behavior of MCrAlY coatings, several NiCoCrAlY model alloys with different levels of Re (0.3 wt%, 6 wt%, and 9 wt%) were investigated. Microstructural observation showed the addition of Re promoted the precipitation of Cr-rich phases, such as α-Cr and σ. The presence of α-Cr lowered the coecient of thermal expansion (CTE) of the coating alloys, which could reduce the CTE mismatch at the scale-metal interface. The solid solution strengthening effect of Re is responsible for an increase in Rockwell hardness of the coating alloys. But the isothermal oxidation resistance at 1100oC was deteriorated due to the precipitation of brittle α-Cr phase, a phase of inferior oxidation resistance compared with β-NiAl and γ-Ni. | J.J. With the nanocrystal model, the broadening peak profiles (BPPs) of Cu, Al, Al65Cu20Fe15 alloy, Cu70Ni30 alloy and Fe50Si50 alloy were gained by broadening the X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks of a crystal lattice. By comparing the BPPs with the XRD intensity curves measured on the liquid metals, it is found that the BPPs are closely in agreement with the XRD intensity curves, respectively, except the Fe50Si50 alloy.
