1Simple method of measuring ocular rotation in supine position during small incision lenticule extraction显示文摘AIM:To introduce a novel measurement method of static cyclotorsion in small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)and to investigate the effect of preoperative parameters on cyclotorsion and the effect of cyclotorsion on postoperative outcomes.METHODS:The medical records of 242 patients and 484 eyes who under went SMILE surger y were retrospectively reviewed.Preoperative intraocular pressure,refractive error,and corneal thickness were investigated.Refractive values and visual acuity were measured at 1d,1,3,and 6mo.Ocular cyclotorsion in the supine position was measured by calculating the location and angle of the incision site of the cornea in the anterior slit photograph taken after surgery.RESULTS:Of the total 484 eyes in 242 patients,preopera tive means phericale quivalent(SE)was-4.10±1.64 D,and the mean astigmatism was-0.82±0.74 D.Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UCVA)and SE improved significantly after the surgery.Moreover,219(45.2%)eyes had excyclotorsion,235(48.6%)eyes had incyclotorsion,and 30(6.2%)eyes had no torsion.The right eyes tended to be excyclotorted,and the left eyes tended to be incyclotorted(P<0.01).The mean cyclotorsion was 1.18°±3.69°,and the mean absolute value of cyclotorsion was 3.14°±2.26°.The range of cyclotorsion was 0.5°–11.4°.It was found that the smaller the preoperative sphere,the higher the amount of cyclotorsion(r=0.11,P=0.016).There was no significant association between the amount of cyclotorsion and preoperative astigmatism.There was no correlation between sex,preoperative corneal thickness,preoperative intraocular pressure,amount of cyclotorsion,and direction of cyclotorsion.The ratio of right eye excyclotorsion and left eye incyclotorsion on 1d was higher than that at 1,3,and 6mo(all P<0.01).There was no difference between the 1,3,and 6mo results in the right and left eyes(P=0.15,P=0.16,respectively).CONCLUSION:The newly devised ocular cyclotorsion measurement method can be used to evaluate ocular cyclotorsion after SMILE.Preoperative SE is associated with the amount of cyclotorsion,however,cyclotorsion doesn't have a significant effect on the results of SMILE surgery.Jiho Song Hwanho Lee Moon Sun Jung Jae-hyung Kim 2022International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2022,15,8:1

8Two-photon interference between continuous-wave coherent photons temporally separated by a day显示文摘An understanding of the phenomenon of light interference forms the kernel underlying the discovery of the nature of light from the viewpoints of both classical physics and quantum physics.Here we report on two-photon interference with temporally separated continuous-wave coherent photons by using a temporal post-selection method with an arbitrary time delay.Although the temporal separation of a day between the photons is considerably longer than the coherence time of the light source,we observe the Hong–Ou–Mandel(HOM)interference of the pairwise two-photon state.Furthermore,we experimentally demonstrate the HOM interference observed in one of the interferometer-output modes by using only one single-photon detector for a large temporal separation.DANBI KIM JIHO PARK TAEK JEONG HEONOH KIM HAN SEB MOON 2020Photonics Research2020,8,3:0
9Hong–Ou–Mandel interference of two independent continuous-wave coherent photons显示文摘Interference between two completely independent photons lies at the heart of many photonic quantum information applications such as quantum repeaters,teleportation,and quantum key distribution.Here,we report the observation of Hong–Ou–Mandel(HOM)interference with two independent continuous-wave coherent light sources that are neither synchronized nor share any common reference.To prepare indistinguishable photons from two independent laser sources,we employ high-precision frequency-stabilization techniques using the 5 S1∕2(F=3)-5P1∕2(F'=3)transition line of 85 Rb atoms.We successfully observe an HOM interference fringe with two independent continuous-wave coherent photons originating from either the frequency-locked or the frequency-modulated lasers.An interference fringe involving two-photon beating is also observed when the frequency difference between the two interfering photons is beyond the spectral bandwidth of the individual coherent photons.We carry out further experiments to verify the robustness of the source preparation regardless of the separation distance between the two independent photon sources.HEONOH KIM DANBI KIM JIHO PARK AND HAN SEB MOON 2020Photonics Research2020,8,9:0
10Second-order interference of true thermal light from a warm atomic ensemble in two independent unbalanced interferometers显示文摘We report the demonstration of a second-order interference experiment by use of thermal light emitted from a warm atomic ensemble in two spatially separated unbalanced Michelson interferometers(UMIs).This novel multipath correlation interference with thermal light has been theoretically proposed by Tamma[New J.Phys.18,032002(2016)].In our experiment,the bright thermal light used for second-order interference is superradiantly emitted via collective two-photon coherence in Doppler-broadened cascade-type 87 Rb atoms.Owing to the long coherence time of the thermal light from the atomic ensemble,we observe its second-order interference in the two independent UMIs by means of time-resolved coincidence detection.The temporal waveforms of the interfering thermal light in the two spatially separated UMIs exhibit similarities with the temporal two-photon waveform of time–energy entangled photon pairs in Franson interferometry.Our results can contribute toward a better understanding of the relation between first-and second-order interferences that are at the heart of photonics-based quantum information science.JIHO PARK HEONOH KIM HAN SEB MOON 2021Photonics Research2021,9,1:0
