| 3 | Vibration Control of a Composite Beam Using Self-sensing Semi-active Approach显示文摘Structural vibration control was an active research area for the past twenty years because of their potential applications in aerospace structures,civil structures,naval structures,etc.Semi-active vibration control methods based on piezoelectric actuators and synchronized switch damping on inductance(SSDI) techniques attract the attention of many researchers recently due to their advantages over passive and active methods.In the SSDI method,a switch shunt circuit is connected to the piezoelectric patch to shift the phase and amplify the magnitude of the voltage on the piezoelectric patch.The most important issue in SSDI method is to control the switching actions synchronously with the maximum vibration displacement or maximum strain.Hence,usually a displacement sensor is used to measure the vibration displacement or a collocated piezoelectric sensor is needed to measure the strain of the structure near the piezoelectric actuator.A self-sensing SSDI approach is proposed and applied to the vibration control of a composite beam,which avoids using a separate sensor.In the self-sensing technique,the same piezoelectric element functions as both a sensor and an actuator so that the total number of required piezoelectric elements can be reduced.One problem in the self-sensing actuator,which is the same as that in the traditional collocated piezoelectric sensors,is the noise generated in the sensor signal by the impact of voltage inversion,which may cause extra switching actions and deteriorate control performance.In order to prevent the shunt circuit from over-frequent on-and-off actions,a simple switch control algorithm is proposed.The results of control experiments show that the self-sensing SSDI approach combined with the improved switch control algorithm can effectively suppress over-frequent switching actions and gives good control performance by reducing the vibration amplitude by 45%,about 50% improvement from the traditional SSDI with a separate piezoelectric element and a classical switch. | JI Hongli QIU Jinhao ZHU Kongjun | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5: | 5 |
| 4 | Damage Detection and Material Property Reconstruction of Composite Laminates Using Laser Ultrasonic Technique显示文摘Laser ultrasonic technique has received increasing attentions in the past decade due to its contactless nature and a wide range of applications have been reported. In this review,applications of laser ultrasonic technique developed at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics(NUAA)as well as elsewhere for non-destructive testing in composite laminates are presented. The principles of generating and detecting in a laser ultrasonic system are introduced,three different system configurations are also introduced with each configuration's advantages and disadvantages explained. More importantly,two major applications developed at NUAA for composite laminates are presented including damage detection,stiffness reconstruction and fatigue life prediction. Both applications are realized by a fixed-point PZT sensor and scanning pulse laser based on the linear reciprocal theorem. | 5 | High Precision Ultrasonic Guided Wave Technique for Inspection of Power Transmission Line显示文摘Due to the merits of high inspection speed and long detecting distance, Ultrasonic Guided Wave(UGW) method has been commonly applied to the on-line maintenance of power transmission line. However, the guided wave propagation in this structure is very complicated, leading to the unfavorable defect localization accuracy. Aiming at this situation, a high precision UGW technique for inspection of local surface defect in power transmission line is proposed. The technique is realized by adopting a novel segmental piezoelectric ring transducer and transducer mounting scheme, combining with the comprehensive characterization of wave propagation and circumferential defect positioning with multiple piezoelectric elements. Firstly, the propagation path of guided waves in the multi-wires of transmission line under the proposed technique condition is investigated experimentally. Next, the wave velocities are calculated by dispersion curves and experiment test respectively, and from comparing of the two results, the guided wave mode propagated in transmission line is confirmed to be F(1,1) mode. Finally, the axial and circumferential positioning of local defective wires in transmission line are both achieved, by using multiple piezoelectric elements to surround the stands and send elastic waves into every single wire.
