| 1 | Vibration Control of a Composite Beam Using Self-sensing Semi-active Approach显示文摘Structural vibration control was an active research area for the past twenty years because of their potential applications in aerospace structures,civil structures,naval structures,etc.Semi-active vibration control methods based on piezoelectric actuators and synchronized switch damping on inductance(SSDI) techniques attract the attention of many researchers recently due to their advantages over passive and active methods.In the SSDI method,a switch shunt circuit is connected to the piezoelectric patch to shift the phase and amplify the magnitude of the voltage on the piezoelectric patch.The most important issue in SSDI method is to control the switching actions synchronously with the maximum vibration displacement or maximum strain.Hence,usually a displacement sensor is used to measure the vibration displacement or a collocated piezoelectric sensor is needed to measure the strain of the structure near the piezoelectric actuator.A self-sensing SSDI approach is proposed and applied to the vibration control of a composite beam,which avoids using a separate sensor.In the self-sensing technique,the same piezoelectric element functions as both a sensor and an actuator so that the total number of required piezoelectric elements can be reduced.One problem in the self-sensing actuator,which is the same as that in the traditional collocated piezoelectric sensors,is the noise generated in the sensor signal by the impact of voltage inversion,which may cause extra switching actions and deteriorate control performance.In order to prevent the shunt circuit from over-frequent on-and-off actions,a simple switch control algorithm is proposed.The results of control experiments show that the self-sensing SSDI approach combined with the improved switch control algorithm can effectively suppress over-frequent switching actions and gives good control performance by reducing the vibration amplitude by 45%,about 50% improvement from the traditional SSDI with a separate piezoelectric element and a classical switch. | JI Hongli QIU Jinhao ZHU Kongjun | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5: | 5 |

| 3 | Experimental study and electromechanical model analysis of the nonlinear deformation behavior of IPMC actuators显示文摘This paper develops analytical electromechanical formulas to predict the mechanical deformation of ionic polymer–metal composite(IPMC) cantilever actuators under DC excitation voltages. In this research, IPMC samples with Pt and Ag electrodes were manufactured, and the large nonlinear deformation and the effect of curvature on surface electrode resistance of the IPMC samples were investigated experimentally and theoretically. A distributed electrical model was modified for calculating the distribution of voltage along the bending actuator. Then an irreversible thermodynamic model that could predict the curvature of a unit part of an IPMC actuator is combined with the electrical model so that an analytical electromechanical model is developed. The electromechanical model is then validated against the experimental results obtained from Pt-and Ag-IPMC actuators under various excitation voltages. | 4 | A piezoelectric tracked vehicle with potential application to planetary exploration显示文摘A piezoelectric driving method for rover vehicles is proposed in this paper. Employing this method, a tracked vehicle driven by friction forces from a frame mounted with piezoelectric elements was developed. The vehicle is designed with no driver sprocket, no idler-wheel and no supporting bogie wheels, and the vehicle thus requires no lubrication and has potential application in planetary exploration. The frame consists of a pair of piezoelectric transducers. Each transducer comprises four annular parts jointed by beams adhered with piezoelectric ceramics. The tracks are set to the outer surface of the annular parts by means of track tension. Traveling rotating waves are generated by piezoelectric transducers in the annular parts, which generate microscopic elliptical motions at the interface of the tracks. The microscopic elliptical motions from the piezoelectric transducers drive the track vehicle to move. Finite elements analysis was carried out to verify the operation principle using commercial software ANSYS. Piezoelectric transducers were fabricated, assembled and tested to validate the concepts of the proposed rover vehicle and confirm the simulation results. | 6 | Synthesis of potassium sodium niobate powders using an EDTA/citrate complexing sol-gel method显示文摘Potassium sodium niobate(KNN) powders were synthesized by a modified sol-gel method,using as starting chemicals potassium carbonate,sodium carbonate,and niobium hydroxide,and,as esterification and chelating agents,respectively,ethylene glycol(EG) and ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA)/citrate.The effects of citric acid(CA),EG,and EDTA on the stability of the precursor sol were systemically investigated.The powders and gels were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and thermogravimetric analysis-differential scanning calorimetry(TGA-DSC).The results indicated that a stable precursor sol was formed when n(CA):n(Mn+)=3:1,n(EDTA):n(NH4OH)=1:3.5,and n(CA):n(EG)=1:2.The xerogel was calcined at 500-950℃ to prepare the KNN powder.Pure KNN perovskite phase with a cube-like structure was synthesized at 850℃ from the precursor sol for a K/Na molar ratio of 1.2.The formation mechanism of the KNN perovskite phase was also discussed. | Yang Cao Kongjun Zhu Hongjuan Zheng Jinhao Qiu Honghui Gu | 2012 | Particuology2012,10,6: | 2 |

| 15 | Influence of sintering temperature on electrical properties of(K_(0.4425)Na_(0.52)Li_(0.0375))(Nb_(0.8825)Sb_(0.07)Ta_(0.0475))O_(3) ceramics without phase transition induced by sintering temperature显示文摘Lead-free(K_(0.4425)Na_(0.52)Li_(0.0375))(Nb_(0.8825)Sb_(0.07)Ta_(0.0475))O_(3)(KNLNST)piezoelectric ceramics are synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction method.The sintering temperature and poling temperature dependence of ceramic properties are investigated.Previous studies have shown that variation of sintering temperature can cause phase transition,similar to the morphotropic phase boundary(MPB)behavior induced by composition changes in Pb(Zr,Ti)O_(3)(PZT).And the best piezoelectric performance can be obtained near the phase-transition sintering temperature.In this research,phase transition induced by sintering temperature cannot be detected and excellent piezoelectric properties can still be obtained.The sintering temperature of the largest piezoelectric coefficient of such composition is lower than that of the highest density,which is considered in composition segregation as a result of intensified volatilization of alkali metal oxides.Combined with the effect of poling temperature,the peak values of the piezoelectric properties are d_(33)=313 pC/N,k_(p)=47%,ε_(r)=1825,tanδd=0.024,T_(o-t)=88℃,and TC=274℃. | Shaohua QIAN Kongjun ZHU Xuming PANG Jing WANG Jinsong LIU Jinhao QIU | 2013 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2013,2,4: | 0 |

| 17 | Novel Fe/glass composite adsorbent for As(V) removal显示文摘An effective adsorbent for arsenic removal was synthesized by hydrothermal treatment of waste glass powder (GP), followed by loading Fe(Ⅲ) oxyhydroxide onto the surface of waste glass powder. The ≡Si-O-H group was formed on the surface of GP and the specific surface area of GP powder was slightly increased after hydrothermal treatment. FeOOH was loaded onto the surface of hydrothermally treated waste glass powder (HGP) by the hydrolysis of FeCl3. The formation conditions of FeOOH were also investigated. The ability of this new adsorbent for arsenic (As(Ⅴ)) removal was evaluated.
