2Extraction of lithium from the simulated pyrometallurgical slag of spent lithium-ion batteries by binary eutectic molten carbonates显示文摘The effective and low-temperature extraction of lithium from the pyrometallurgical slag of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)remains a great challenge.Herein,potassium carbonate/sodium carbonate(K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3)),which could form a eutectic molten salt system at 720℃,was used as a roasting agent to extract lithium from pyrometallurgical slag.Lithium was successfully extracted from the slag by K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3) roasting followed by water leaching.Theoretical calculation results indicate that the lengths of Li-O bonds increase after K^(+)/Na^(+)adsorption,resulting in the easy release of Li^(+)from the LiAlSi_(2)O_(6) lattice after roasting with K_(2)CO_(3)/Na_(2)CO_(3).Thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry results indicate that the eutectic phenomenon of K_(2)CO_(3) and Na_(2)CO_(3) could be observed at 720℃ and that the reaction of the slag and eutectic molten salts occurs at temperatures above 720℃.X-ray diffraction results suggest that Li^(+)in the slag is exchanged by K^(+)in K_(2)CO_(3) with the concurrent formation of KAlSiO_(4),while Na_(2)CO_(3) mainly functions as a fluxing agent.The lithium extraction efficiency can reach 93.87%under the optimal conditions of a roasting temperature of 740℃,roasting time of 30 min,leaching temperature of 50℃,leaching time of 40 min,and water/roasted sample mass ratio of 10:1.This work provides a new system for extracting lithium from the pyrometallurgical slag of spent LIBs.Hui Dang Zhidong Chang Hualei Zhou Sihang Ma Min Li Jialing Xiang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,9:2
3Enhanced tumor homing of pathogen-mimicking liposomes driven by R848 stimulation: A new platform for synergistic oncology therapy显示文摘Although multifarious tumor-targeting modifications of nanoparticulate systems have been attempted in joint efforts by our predecessors,it remains challenging for nanomedicine to traverse physiological barriers involving blood vessels,tissues,and cell barriers to thereafter demonstrate excellent antitumor effects.To further overcome these inherent obstacles,we designed and prepared mycoplasma membrane(MM)-fused liposomes(LPs)with the goal of employing circulating neutrophils with the advantage of inflammatory cytokine-guided autonomous tumor localization to transport nanoparticles.We also utilized in vivo neutrophil activation induced by the liposomal form of the immune activator resiquimod(LPsR848).Fused LPs preparations retained mycoplasma pathogen characteristics and achieved rapid recognition and endocytosis by activated neutrophils stimulated by LPs-R848.The enhanced neutrophil infiltration in homing of the inflammatory tumor microenvironment allowed more nanoparticles to be delivered into solid tumors.Facilitated by the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs),podophyllotoxin(POD)-loaded MM-fused LPs(MM-LPs-POD)were concomitantly released from neutrophils and subsequently engulfed by tumor cells during inflammation.MM-LPs-POD displayed superior suppression efficacy of tumor growth and lung metastasis in a 4T1 breast tumor model.Overall,such a strategy of pathogen-mimicking nanoparticles hijacking neutrophils in situ combined with enhanced neutrophil infiltration indeed elevates the potential of chemotherapeutics for tumor targeting therapy.Xiaobei Cheng Pei Yu Xiang Zhou Jiale Zhu Yubao Han Chao Zhang Lingyi Kong 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:2

8Identifying Hidden Li–Si–O Phases for Lithium-Ion Batteries via First-Principle Thermodynamic Calculations显示文摘SiO–based materials are promising alloys and conversion-type anode materials for lithium-ion batteries and are recently found to be excellent dendrite-proof layers for lithium-metal batteries.However,only a small fraction of the Li–Si–O compositional space has been reported,significantly impeding the understanding of the phase transition mechanisms and the rational design of these materials both as anodes and as protection layers for lithium-metal anodes.Herein,we identify three new thermodynamically stable phases within the Li–Si–O ternary system(Li_(2)SiO_(5),Li_(4)SiO_(6),and Li_(4)SiO_(8))in addition to the existing records via first-principle calculations.The electronic structure simulation shows that Li_(2)SiO_(5)and Li_(4)SiO_(8)phases are metallic in nature,ensuring high electronic conductivity required as electrodes.Moduli calculations demonstrate that the mechanical strength of Li–Si–O phases is much higher than that of lithium metal.The diffusion barriers of interstitial Li range from 0.1 to 0.6 eV and the interstitial Li hopping serves as the dominating diffusion mechanism in the Li–Si–O ternary systems compared with vacancy diffusion.These findings provide a new strategy for future discovery of improved alloying anodes for lithium-ion batteries and offer important insight towards the understanding of the phase transformation mechanism of alloy-type protection layers on lithium-metal anodes.Jiale Qu Chao Ning Xiang Feng Bonan Yao Bo Liu Ziheng Lu Tianshuai Wang Zhi Wei Seh Siqi Shi Qianfan Zhang 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3:0
9Effects of Radix Puerariae, Radix Rehmanniae and Their Compatibility on Blood Glucose and Blood Lipids in Mice显示文摘[Objectives]To explore the effects of the compatibility of Radix Puerariae and Radix Rehmanniae on blood glucose and blood lipids in diabetic mouses.[Methods]Diabetic mouse model was established.The body weight and fasting blood glucose of mice were measured after 7 and 14 d of administration,and the biochemical indicators of blood lipids(TC,HDL-C,and LDL-C)were detected after 14 d of administration.[Results]Compared with the Radix Puerariae group and Radix Rehmanniae group,the compatibility group(1:2)had the best hypoglycemic effect(P<0.05),and TC and LDL-C in the compatibility group(2:1)significantly decreased(P<0.05),while HDL-C in the compatibility group(1:1)significantly increased(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Radix Puerariae,Radix Rehmanniae and their combination can reduce the blood glucose of diabetic mice.The compatibility group(1:2)had a significant hypoglycemic effect(P<0.05),and LDL-C in the compatibility group(2:1)significantly declined,while HDL-C in the compatibility group(1:1)rose significantly.Yumei ZHANG Yulin ZHAO Yanmei QIN Jialing WEI Xiang QIN Suoyi HUANG 2024Medicinal Plant2024,15,1:0
10Non-fused medium bandgap electron acceptors for efficient organic photovoltaics显示文摘The cost-effective organic semiconductors are strongly needed in organic photovoltaics(OPVs). Herein,two medium bandgap(MBG) electron acceptors, TPT4F and TPT4Cl are developed via the new design of multi-noncovalent interaction assisted unfused core, flanked with two electron withdrawing end groups. These fullly non-fused MBG acceptors adapt the planar and rigid conformation in solid, therefore exhibiting the ordered face-on stacking and strong photoluminescence in films. 12Coupling of piezocatalysis and photocatalysis for efficient degradation of methylene blue by Bi_(0.9)Gd_(0.07)La_(0.03)FeO_(3) nanotubes显示文摘Photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants is of great significance for wastewater remediation but is still hindered by the poor catalytic efficiency of the catalysts.Herein,we report a strategy to simultaneously introduce piezocatalysis and to enhance the intrinsic photocatalysis in a single catalyst,which improved the performance for catalytic degradation of methylene blue(MB)significantly.Specifically,piezoelectric BiFeO_(3)(BFO)nanotube doped with different contents of Gd and La(Bi_(0.9)(GdxLa_(1−x))0.1FeO_(3))were produced by electrospinning.The doping led to a higher concentration of surface oxygen vacancy(OV)in Bi_(0.9)Gd_(0.07)La_(0.03)FeO_(3),which effectively increased the piezoelectric field due to the deformation of BFO,and suppressed the recombination of photon-generated electron–hole pairs.The Bi_(0.9)Gd_(0.07)La_(0.03)FeO_(3)nanotube showed excellent catalytic performance under simultaneous light irradiation and ultrasonic excitation,giving an extraordinary 95%degradation of MB within 90 min.These findings suggest that the piezoelectric effect combined with defect engineering can enhance the catalytic performance of Bi_(0.9)Gd_(0.07)La_(0.03)FeO_(3)nanotube.This could potentially be extended to other catalytic systems for high-performance pollutant treatment.Angom Devadatta MANI Jie LI Ziquan WANG Jiale ZHOU Huaicheng XIANG Jinlai ZHAO Libo DENG Haitao YANG Lei YAO 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,7:0
13Regulating adsorption ability toward polysulfides in a porous carbon/Cu_(3)P hybrid for an ultrastable high-temperature lithium-sulfur battery显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)can work at high temperatures,but they suffer from poor cycle life stability due to the“shuttle effect”of polysulfides.In this study,pollen-derived porous carbon/cuprous phosphide(PC/Cu_(3)P)hybrids were rationally synthesized using a one-step carbonization method using pollen as the source material,acting as the sulfur host for LSBs.In the hybrid,polar Cu_(3)P can markedly inhibit the“shuttle effect”by regulating the adsorption ability toward polysulfides,as confirmed by theoretical calculations and experimental tests.As an example,the camellia pollen porous carbon(CPC)/Cu_(3)P/S electrode shows a high capacity of 1205.6 mAh g^(−1) at 0.1 C,an ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.038%per cycle after 1000 cycles at 1 C,and a rather high initial Coulombic efficiency of 98.5%.The CPC/Cu_(3)P LSBs can work well at high temperatures,having a high capacity of 545.9 mAh g^(−1) at 1 C even at 150℃.The strategy of the PC/Cu_(3)P hybrid proposed in this study is expected to be an ideal cathode for ultrastable high-temperature LSBs.We believe that this strategy is universal and worthy of in-depth development for the next generation energy storage devices.Yichuan Guo Rabia Khatoon Jianguo Lu Qinggang He Xiang Gao Xiaopeng Yang Xun Hu Yang Wu Jiale Lian Zhoupeng Li Zhizhen Ye 2021Carbon Energy2021,3,6:0
