A Strigolactone Biosynthesis Gene Contributed to the Green Revolution in Rice显示文摘Plant architecture is a complex agronomic trait and a major factor of crop yield, which is affected by several important hormones.Strigolactones(SLs)are identified as a new class hormoneinhibiting branching in many plant species and have been shown to be involved in various developmental processes.Genetical and chemical modulation of the SL pathway is recognized as a promising approach to modify plant architecture. However, whether and how the genes involved in the SL pathway could be utilized in breeding still remain elusive. Here,we demonstrate that a partial loss-of-function allele of the SL biosynthesis gene,HIGH TILLERING AND DWARF 1/DWARF17(HTD1/D17),which encodes CAROTENOID CLEAVAGE DIOXYGENASE 7(CCD7),increases tiller number and improves grain yield in rice.We found that the HTD1 gene had been widely utilized and co-selected with Semidwarf 1(SD1),both contributing to the improvement of plant architecture in modern rice varieties since the Green Revolution in the 1960s.Understanding how phytohormone pathway genes regulate plant architecture and how they have been utilized and selected in breeding will lay the foundation for developing the rational approaches toward improving crop yield. | Yuexing Wang Lianguang Shang Hong Yu Longjun Zeng Jiang Hu Shen Ni Yuchun Rao Sanfeng Li Jinfang Chu Xiangbing Meng Lei Wang Ping Hu Jijun Yan Shujing Kang Minghao Qu Hai Lin Tao Wang Quan Wang Xingming Hu Hongqi Chen Bing Wang Zhenyu Gao Longbiao Guo Dali Zeng Xudong Zhu Guosheng Xiong Jiayang Li Qian Qian | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,6: | 23
High precision topographic data on Lop Nor basin's Lake 'Great Ear' ? and the timing of its becoming a dry salt lake显示文摘High precision elevation measurements using DGPS were carried out along three representative tran- sects for the 'Great Ear' area, a dry salt lake within the Lop Nor basin. Results indicate that the Lop Nor basin is only 5.2 m deep and its lowest point occurs at the center of the 'Great Ear'. In addition, the basin is asymmetric - steeper in the southwest (0.19‰) and gentler in the northeast (0.09‰). Points along the same 'Great Ear' ring were found to have an identical elevation value, but different when from different ones (lower towards the center). The spacing of the 'Great Ear' rings was found to be closely related with the surface steepness. The closer the 'Great Ear' rings are spaced, the steeper the ground surface, and vice versa. These findings support the argument that the 'Great Ear' rings are the former shoreline trails left behind by Lop Nor water during the last few episodes of recession towards its total dry up. A comprehensive analysis of the high precision elevation data, historical accounts, aerial and satellite photographs and imagery, and official topographic maps of the study area suggests that the 'Great Ear' area in the Lop Nor basin was incorrectly mapped as being covered by a great body of water on the 1963 topographic maps. A re-interpretation of the 1958 aerial photographs and newer remote sensing imagery indicated that the 'Great Ear' ring structure was already in place in 1958 and it continued to appear on the subsequent remote sensing data without any major changes. It is estimated that lake water in the 'Great Ear' area of the Lop Nor basin disappeared between the late 1930s and early 1940s. | LI BaoGuo MA LiChun JIANG PingAn DUAN ZengQiang SUN DanFeng QIU HongLie ZHONG JunPing WU HongQi | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,6: | 11
Micro-geological causes and macro-geological controlling factors of low-resistivity oil layers in the Puao Oilfield显示文摘Low-resistivity oil layers are often missed in logging interpretation because of their resistivity close to or below the resistivity of nearby water layers.Typical low-resistivity oil layers have been found in the past few years in the Putaohua reservoir of the Puao Oilfield in the south of the Daqing placanticline by detailed exploration.Based on a study of micro-geological causes of low-resistivity oil layers, the macro-geological controlling factors were analyzed through comprehensive research of regional depositional background, geological structure, and oil-water relations combined with core, water testing, well logging, and scanning electron microscopy data. The results showed that the formation and distribution of Putaohua low-resistivity oil layers in the Puao Oilfield were controlled by depositional environment, sedimentary facies, diagenesis, motive power of hydrocarbon accumulation, and acidity and alkalinity of reservoir liquid. The low-resistivity oil layers caused by high bound-water saturation were controlled by deposition and diagenesis, those caused by high free-water saturation were controlled by structural amplitude and motive power of hydrocarbon accumulation. Those caused by formation water with high salinity were controlled by the ancient saline water depositional environment and faulted structure and those caused by additional conductivity of shale were controlled by paleoclimate and acidity and alkalinity of reservoir liquid.Consideration of both micro-geological causes and macro-geological controlling factors is important in identifying low-resistivity oil layers. | Tan Fengqi Li Hongqi Liu Hongtao Jiang Fucong Yu Hongyan | 2009 | Petroleum Science2009,6,3: | 5

A systematic survey on the diagnosis strategy and patient management of type 1 diabetes by Chinese physicians显示文摘The qualification of physicians is a key factor in controlling type 1 diabetes(T1 D) since they provide crucial information to their patients about self-management. To investigate whether Chinese physicians' medical strategies influence the control of T1 D in their patients, we designed a questionnaire to survey Chinese physicians, which covered their diagnosis and patient-management strategies for T1 D. A total of 442 completed questionnaires were received from 35 public hospitals in 12 cities. The results showed Chinese physicians mainly diagnosed T1 D based on the clinical features and islet dysfunction. One-third of physicians in this study still prescribed non-basal-bolus insulin regimens to their T1 D patients. More than 80% of the doctors prescribed alpha-glucosidase inhibitors as adjunctive therapy, in addition to insulin therapy. Moreover, most of the physicians in China did not pay attention to identify coexistent autoimmune diseases. T1 D patients in China were not armed with self-management knowledge and skills, which should be provided by their doctors. One of the circumstances leading to insufficient disease control in Chinese T1 D patients is the ineffective therapeutic strategy prescribed by their physicians. We need to promote knowledge of efficient strategies among physicians in China to achieve better disease control in Chinese T1 D patients in the future. | Yong Gu Hsiang-Ting Hsu Jing Zhu Xuqin Zheng Hemin Jiang Hongqi Fan Tao Yang | 2018 | Science China(Life Sciences)2018,61,3: | 3
Mechanism of lithium insertion in carbons pyrolyzed at low temperature显示文摘Carbons pyrolyzed at temperature ranging from 500℃ to 1 000℃ are premising materials for high-energy density lithium batteries. These carbons not only possess a capacity higher than the theoretical value of graphite, but also display a different electrochemical behavior from that of graphite.Mechanisms now available for this phenomenon are reviewed after the presentation of mechanism of lithium intercalation in graphite. Based on the recent research, a new model for lithium insertion in carbons pyrolyzed at low temperature and some ideas for further study are proposed. | Hongqi Xiang Shibi Fang Yingyan Jiang | 1999 | Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,5: | 1

Changes in the relationship between species richness and belowground biomass among grassland types and along environmental gradients in Xinjiang, Northwest China显示文摘The association between biodiversity and belowground biomass(BGB) remains a central debate in ecology. In this study, we compared the variations in species richness(SR) and BGB as well as their interaction in the top(0–20 cm), middle(20–50 cm) and deep(50–100 cm) soil depths among 8 grassland types(lowland meadow, temperate desert, temperate desert steppe, temperate steppe desert, temperate steppe, temperate meadow steppe, mountain meadow and alpine steppe) and along environmental gradients(elevation, energy condition(annual mean temperature(AMT) and potential evapotranspiration(PET)), and mean annual precipitation(MAP)) based on a 2011–2013 survey of 379 sites in Xinjiang, Northwest China. The SR and BGB varied among the grassland types. The alpine steppe had a medium level of SR but the highest BGB in the top soil depth, whereas the lowland meadow had the lowest SR but the highest BGB in the middle and deep soil depths. The SR and BGB in the different soil depths were tightly associated with elevation, MAP and energy condition;however, the particular forms of trends in SR and BGB depended on environmental factors and soil depths. The relationship between SR and BGB was unimodal in the top soil depth, but SR was positively related with BGB in the middle soil depth.Although elevation, MAP, energy condition and SR had significant effects on BGB, the variations in BGB in the top soil depth were mostly determined by elevation, and those in the middle and deep soil depths were mainly affected by energy condition. These findings highlight the importance of environmental factors in the regulations of SR and BGB as well as their interaction in the grasslands in Xinjiang. | YANG Yuling LI Minfei MA Jingjing CHENG Junhui LIU Yunhua JIA Hongtao LI Ning WU Hongqi SUN Zongjiu FAN Yanmin SHENG Jiandong JIANG Ping'an | 2019 | Journal of Arid Land2019,11,6: | 0
Transmembrane transport of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by bacteria and functional regulation of membrane proteins显示文摘In recent years, increasing research has been conducted on transmembrane transport processes and the mechanisms behind the microbial breakdown of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),including the role of membrane proteins in transmembrane transport and the mode of transmission. This article explains the adsorption, uptake and transmembrane transport of PAHs by bacteria, the regulation of membrane protein function during the transmembrane transport. There are three different regulation mechanisms for uptake, depending on the state and size of the oil droplets relative to the size of the microbial cells, which are(i)direct adhesion,(ii)emulsification and pseudosolubilization, and(iii)interfacial uptake.Furthermore, two main transmembrane transport modes are introduced, which are(i)active transport and(ii)passive uptake and active efflux mechanism.Meanwhile, introduce the proteomics and single cell analysis technology used to address these areas of research, such as Isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation(iTRAQ)technology and Nano Secondary ion mass spectrometry(Nano-SIMS).Additionally,analyze the changes in morphology and structure and the characteristics of microbial cell membranes in the process of transmembrane transport. Finally, recognize the microscopic mechanism of PAHs biodegradation in terms of cell and membrane proteins are of great theoretical and practical significance for understanding the factors that influence the efficient degradation of PAHs contaminants in soil and for remediating the PAHs contamination in this area with biotechnology. | Hongqi Wang Ruhan Jiang Dekang Kong Zili Liu Xiaoxiong Wu Jie Xu Yi Li | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,1: | 0
Xiaoyi Yusi decoction(消异育嗣汤)improves in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer outcomes in patients with endometriosis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of—Xiaoyi Yusi decoction(XYYSD,消异育嗣汤),a Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),on in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)in patients with endometriosis, and to study the mechanism underpinning the action.METHODS:Women who underwent IVF-ET were divided into three groups by simple randomization:the treatment(n=32;with TCM treatment),patient(n=28;with endometriosis alone),and control(n=33;with male factor alone)groups. The luteal phase short-acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist prolonged protocol was used in all three groups. To compare the changes in TCM scores and reproductive outcomes before and after TCM intervention in patients with endometriosis, partial least-squares discriminant analysis was used to analyze the follicular fluid samples of each group and screen and compare metabolites using the MetaboA nalyst software.RESULTS:The clinical data indicated that following TCM intervention, kidney deficiency and blood stasis symptom patterns improved dramatically in patients with endometriosis and that their clinical pregnancy rate increased significantly(71.9%vs 57.1%,P<0.05).Metabolomics showed that the two groups of samples were separated before and after TCM intervention. After TCM intervention, the intervention group was close to the control group, indicating that the TCM had a certain effect.Pathway analysis revealed that after TCM intervention, the metabolism of glycerin phospholipid, pyruvate, and citric acid was regulated.CONCLUSIONS:Through the pyruvate and glycerophospholipid metabolism pathways and tricarboxylic acid cycle, the TCM XYYSD successfully improved kidney deficiency and blood stasis symptom pattern,as well as the clinical reproductive outcomes of patients with endometriosis-related infertility. | JIANG Wenjing JIANG Huaying YUAN Lihua SA Yuanhong XIAO Jimei SUN Hongqi SONG Jingyan SUN Zhengao | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5: | 0

Advanced Flexible Carbon‑Based Current Collector for Zinc Storage显示文摘Carbon cloth(CC)-based electrodes have attracted extensive attention for next-generation wearable energy-storage devices due to their excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical flexibility. However, the application of conventional CC-based electrodes for zinc(Zn)storage severely hinders Zn ion transport and induces deleterious Zn dendrite growth, resulting in poor electrochemical reliability.Herein,a novel oxygen plasma-treated carbon cloth(OPCC)is rationally designed as a current collector for flexible hybrid Zn ion supercapacitors(ZISs).The modified interface of OPCC with abundant oxygenated groups enables enhanced electrolyte wettability and uniform superficial electric field distribution.A prolonged working lifespan for Zn electrodeposition is achieved by the OPCC due to the improved interfacial kinetics and homogenized ion gradient. The as-prepared hybrid ZIS also delivers excellent cycling endurance(98.5%capacity retention for 1500 cycles)with outstanding operation stability under various extreme conditions. This facile surface modification strategy provides a new way for developing future flexible electrodes for wearable electronic products. | Hao Jia Minghui Qiu Chunxia Tang Hongqi Liu Jinlin Xu Benjamin Tawiah Shou‑xiang Jiang Xiangwu Zhang | 2022 | Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,6: | 0
Easily-manufactured paper-based materials with high porosity for adsorption/separation applications in complex wastewater显示文摘A multi-functional porous paper-based material was prepared from grass pulp by simple pore-forming and green cross-linking method. As a pore-forming agent, calcium citrate increased the porosity of the paper-based material from 30%to 69%while retaining the mechanical strength. The covalent cross-linking of citric acid between cellulose fibers improved both the wet strength and adsorption capacity. In addition, owing to the introduction of high-content carboxyl groups as well as the construction of hierarchical micro-nano structure, the underwater oil contact angle was up to 165°.The separation efficiency of the emulsified oil was 99.3%,and the water flux was up to 2020 L·m^(–2)·h^(–1).The theoretical maximum adsorption capacities of cadmium ion, lead ion and methylene blue reached 136,229 and 128.9 mg·g^(–1),respectively.The continuous purification of complex wastewater can be achieved by using paper-based materials combined with filtration technology. This work provides a simple, low cost and environmental approach for the treatment of complex wastewater containing insoluble oil, organic dyes, and heavy metal ions. | Shan Jiang Jianfeng Xi Hongqi Dai Huining Xiao Weibing Wu | 2023 | Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,7: | 0
