1An Experimental Investigation of a new Method for Protecting Bends from Erosion in Gas-Particle Flows显示文摘Bend erosion is a fairly serious problem in conveyer pipe system. This paper intends to introduce a new antierosion method for bend: ribbed anti-erosion method. Experimental research has been done by fixing ribs in the range of 10°- 70°on the outer-wall of inside 90°-bend. As a result the experiment got anti-erosion efficiency: 93.02%. It shows that ribbed bend technology is a simple and efficient anti-erosion method. 2Transitional phenomenon of particle dispersion in gas-solid two-phase flows显示文摘Without using any turbulent model, direct numerical simulation of a three-dimensional gas-solid two-phase turbulent jet was performed by finite volume method. The effects on dispersion of particles with different Stokes numbers by the transitional behavior of turbulent structures were investigated. To produce high-resolution results and reduce the computation and storage, the fractional-step projection algorithm was used to solve the governing equations of gas phase fluid. The low-storage, three-order Runge-Kutta scheme was used for time integration. The governing equations of particles were solved in the Lagrangian framework. These numerical schemes were validated by the good agreement be-tween the statistical results of flow field and the related experimental data. In the study of particle dis-persion, it was found that the effects on particle dispersion by the spanwise vortex structures were prominent. The new behaviors of particle dispersion were also observed during the evolution of the flow field, i.e. the transitional phenomenon of particle dispersion occurs for the particles with small and intermediate Stokes numbers.LUO Kun FAN JianRen CEN KeFa 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,3:5
3LES/FDF simulation of particle dispersion in a gas-particle two phase plane wake flow显示文摘A filtered density function (FDF) transport equation was derived for the fluid velocity seen by the particles in gas-particle two-phase flow. An LES/FDF simulation of a two-phase plane wake flow was carried out. 4Differential effects of rapamycin on Bursaphelenchus xylophilus with different virulence and differential expression of autophagy genes under stresses in nematodes显示文摘Pine wilt disease(PWD)caused by the pine wood nematode(PWN),Bursaphelenchus xylophilus,is a devastating disease for Pinus spp.The virulence and resilience of PWN are closely linked to the spread and development of PWD.Numerous studies have shown that autophagy has important physiological and pathological functions in eukaryotes.But little is known about the relationships between autophagy and PWNs’virulence and resistance.In this study,through observation under the microscope and recording,we found the induction of autophagy by rapamycin could dramatically improve movement ability of PWNs with different virulence,and the highly virulent AMA3 isolate moved more than the low virulent YW4 isolate when autophagy was over-induced.High concentrations of rapamycin substantially improved the feeding and reproduction of AMA3 but not YW4.Conserved domains of autophagy genes BxATG3,BxATG4,and BxATG7 were first cloned from PWNs by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Expression profiling of these three autophagy genes under biotic and abiotic stresses in PWNs with different virulence was determined by quantitative RT-PCR.The results revealed the expression levels of these three autophagy genes in PWNs with different virulence were increased significantly when nematodes were subject to high and low temperatures,oxidative stress,and defensive responses of pine trees.The expression levels of autophagy genes under biotic and abiotic stresses in AMA3 were higher than those in YW4,and different genes showed different performance.Our study clarified that autophagy was closely related to virulence and resistance of PWN,and the ability of a highly virulent isolate to regulate autophagy activity under stresses was stronger than that of a low virulent isolate.Hongbin Liu Fan Wu Xiaoqin Wu Jianren Ye 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3:4

6Three-dimensional Numerical Study on Thermal Performance of a Super Large Natural Draft Cooling Tower of 220m Height显示文摘Based on the heat and mass transfer theory and the characteristics of general-purpose software FLUENT, a three-dimensional numerical simulation platform, composed of lots of user defined functions(UDF), has been developed to simulate the thermal performance of natural draft wet cooling towers(NDWCTs). After validation, this platform is used to analyse thermal performances of a 220m high super large cooling tower designed for inland nuclear plant under different operational conditions. Variations of outlet temperature of the cooling tower caused by changes of water flow rates, inlet water temperatures are investigated. Effects of optimization through non-uniform water distributions on outlet water temperature are discussed, and the influences on the flow field inside the cooling tower are analyzed in detail. It is found that the outlet water temperature will increase as the water flow rate increases, but the air flow rate will decrease. 7Numerical study on three-dimensional CJ detonation waves interacting with isotropic turbulence显示文摘The three-dimensional structures of a cellular detonation wave interacting with different turbulent flows were investigated using a one-step irreversible Arrhenius kinetics model. High-resolution bandwidth-optimized WENO scheme of spatial discretization and total variation diminishing temporal integration are used to solve the three dimensional chemically reactive Navier–Stokes equations.The turbulent vertical and entropic forcing effects on the three dimensional detonation wave structures and dynamics are analyzed, as well as the detonation effects on turbulent vortex structures. It has been found that the turbulence field imposed has created small scale wrinkles embedded in the detonation front, apart from the large scale features of detonation without turbulence. The detonation propagating velocity over the leading shock front varies from 0.8 to 1.6 times of CJ velocity and its probability density function(pdf) skews towards sub-CJ velocity and peaks at about 0.9. The recorded detonation velocity always preferentially decays with time, with very rapid accelerations through triple point interactions. Its pdf also skews to sub-CJ velocity, while its overall shape agrees well with V–3. The reaction zone is greatly influenced by the vortex, much more irregular and elongated for the turbulent cases. Distributed burning pockets are more likely to be found there. The turbulent kinetic energy is amplified across the detonation, and periodically oscillates downstream the detonation. The off-diagonal components of Reynolds stress also show a rapid rise across the detonation and present to be non-zero downstream of detonation. Vortex structures are compound results of theconvected vortex and the generated vortex by the collision of triple points. 8On coherent structures in a three-dimensional transitional plane jet显示文摘Direct numerical simulation of coherent structures in the three-dimensional transitional jet with a moderate Reynolds number of 5000 was conducted. The finite volume method was used to discretize the governing equations in space and the low-storage, three-order Runge-Kutta scheme was used for time integration. The comparisons between the statistical results of the flow field and the related experimental data were performed to validate the reliability of the present numerical schemes. The emphasis was placed on the study of the spatial evolution of the three-dimensional coherent vortex structures as well as their interactions. It is found that the evolution of the spanwise vortex structures in three-dimensional space is similar to that in two-dimensional jet. The spanwise vortex structures are subject to three-dimensional instability and induce the formation of the streamwise and lateral vortex structures. Going with the breakup and mixing of the spanwise vortex structures, the streamwise and transverse vortex tubes also fall to pieces and the mixing arranged small-scale structures are formed in the flow field. 9Direct numerical simulation of particle-fluid flows in turbulent mixing layer显示文摘The coherent structures of a three-dimensional temporally mixing layer and the associated dispersion patterns of particles are numerically studied using a pseudospectral method for fluid and the Lagrangian approach for tracing particles at different Stokes numbers without consideration of particle-particle interactions. The results show that the particles with Stokes number of the order of unity have the largest concentration near the outer edges of the large-scale spanwise vortex structures. 10DNS analysis of incipient drop impact dynamics using an accurate level set method显示文摘A series of 2D direct numerical simulations were performed with an accurate level set method for single drop impacts.The adopted ACLS method was validated to be efficient with perfect mass conservation in both normal and oblique impacts.A square-root correction for neck bases was modified in accuracy as well as scope of applications.In addition,process of jet formation and evolution was studied to reveal internal dynamics in drop impacts.It's found that pressure gradient and vortex are coexisting and completive reasons for jet topology while the inclined angle has a significant effect on them.Mechanisms of jet formation and evolution are different in the front and back necks.With the help of PDF distribution and correction calculation,a compromise in the competition is observed.This work lays a solid foundation for further studies of dynamics in gas-liquid flows.Min Chai Kun Luo Changxiao Shao Song Chen Jianren Fan 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,1:2
11Direct numerical simulation of hydrogen turbulent lifted jet flame in a vitiated coflow显示文摘The direct numerical simulation (DNS) method with 16 steps detailed chemical kinetics was applied to a lifted turbulent jet flame with H2/N2 fuel issuing into a wide hot coflow of lean combustion products,at temperature of 1045 K and low oxygen concentrations. The chemical reactions were handled by the library function of CHEMKIN which was called by the main program in every time step. Parallel com-putational technology based on message passing interface method (MPI) was used in the simulation. All the cases were run by 12 CPUs on a high performance computer system. Faver-averaged DNS re-sults were obtained by long time averaging the transient profile and compared with the experimental data. The roll-up and evolution of the vortices in jet flame were well captured. The vortices in the same rotating direction attracted each other and those in different rotating directions repulsed each other. Through complex interactions between vortices,the original symmetrical vortex structure could be converted into nonsymmetrical and more complex structures by combination,distortion and splitting of the vortices. The transient profiles of H,OH and H2O mass fraction at 5.76 ms showed the flame structure in jet flame,especially the autoignition regions clearly. The lift-off height was about 9 d―11 d,in agreement with the experimental observation. At the corner point of the flame sheet indicated by OH and H profiles,the combustion was always enhanced by the flame curvature and extended resident time. The profiles of turbulence intensities show that the flames were diffused from the original two outside flame sheets into the core.
