2Types and Characteristics of the Lower Silurian Shale Gas Reservoirs in and Around the Sichuan Basin显示文摘This study analyzed the characteristics and types of the Lower Silurian shale gas reservoirs in and around Sichuan Basin through field observations, slices, Ar-ion-beam milling, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction analysis of 25 black shale outcrops and samples. Two main types of shale gas reservoirs were determined, i.e., fractures and pores. Fractures were classified into five categories, i.e., giant, large, medium, small, and micro, according to the features of the shale gas reservoirs, effect of fracture on gas accumulation, and fracture nature. Pore types include organic matter pores, mineral pores(mineral surface, intraparticle, interparticle, and corrosional pore), and nanofractures. The various fracture types, fracture scales, pore types, and pore sizes exert different controls over the gas storage and production capacity. 3Sedimentary Characteristics and Paleoenvironment of Shale in the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation, North Guizhou Province, and Its Shale Gas Potential显示文摘The Paleozoic Wufeng-Longmaxi shale is one of the main horizons for shale gas exploration in Sichuan Basin. Outcrop, core and thin section observations, X-ray diffraction analysis, trace element geochemistry and other methods have been used to understand the sedimentary characteristics and identify hydrocarbon source rocks in suitable sedimentary paleoenvironments in the Wufeng-Longmaxi shale in northern Guizhou Province. The thickness of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation ranges from 20 to 200 m and it was mainly deposited on a deep-water shelf. The TOC content is high, up to 5.75%. The main non-organic minerals are detrital quartz and clay minerals, with a little plagioclase feldspar, potassium feldspar, calcite, dolomite and pyrite. There is also biogenic microcrystalline quartz. Six lithofacies have been identified: siliceous shale, clay shale, calcareous shale, silty shale, carbonaceous shale, and muddy siltstone. Using biological Ba, V/(V+Ni), TOC, V/Cr, B, Sr/Ba and other indicators, we estimate primary productivity, redox conditions and paleosalinity and show that the early stage of Wufeng-Longmaxi deposition occurred under strong anoxic conditions, high paleosalinity and yielded a high TOC content and an excellent potential shale gas source. The anoxic environment was destroyed at the late stages of Wufeng-Longmaxi deposition, the TOC content decreased, so that it is likely to be a high quality source rock. Organic pores acted as the key reservoir space in the shales, and the pores are mainly mesopose, with most pore diameters less than 20 nm. 4Measurement and Spatio-temporal Distribution of Urbanization Development Quality of Urban Agglomeration in China显示文摘Urbanization development quality(UDQ) of urban agglomeration(UA) is one of the important indexes to evaluate if the UA urbanization speed is reasonable,if the population urbanization process is sound,if the economic urbanization process is efficient,if the social urbanization process is harmonious and fair,which is generally composed of three parts,including economic urbanization development quality,social urbanization development quality and spa-tial urbanization security quality.With the research of evolution rules of UDQ,through the analysis on the interactive coordination relation between UDQ and urbanization level,the paper proposes three dimensional index ball and stan-dard value of comprehensive measures of UDQ,which is composed of three categories of indexes.By introducing At-kinson model,this paper constructs the sub-element measure model and segmental measure model of UDQ,and fur-ther makes an overall evaluation on the characteristic of UDQ of UAs in China.Results show that:1) UDQ of UAs lied at optimization and upgrading phase during 1995-2008 and the quality was low.Population urbanization level did not reflect the UDQ of UAs;2) the improving speed of the spatial urbanization security quality was higher than the so-cial urbanization development quality,and the improving speed of economic urbanization development quality was the lowest;3) the coordination between UDQ and urbanization level was not so good;4) there was a weak correlation re-lation between UDQ and UA scale,and it was not true that the bigger the UA was,the better the UDQ was.WANG Deli FANG Chuanglin GAO Boyang HUANG Jinchuan YANG Qingshan 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,6:13
5Lacustrine Shale Deposition and Variable Tectonic Accommodation in the Rift Basins of the Bohai Bay Basin in Eastern China显示文摘Organic-rich lacustrine shales are widely distributed in China and have significant potential for unconventional shale gas and oil production although the primary factors controlling the deposition of lacustrine shale are disputed. This work clarifies the different characteristics of tectonic evolution and shale among sub-basins in the Bohai Bay Basin in eastern China as a case study by studying basal subsidence, tectonic subsidence rate, basin extensional proportions and shale chemical characteristics. The paper summarizes the correlation between structure and shale deposition, and concludes that tectonic activity is the primary controlling factor for shale development. Episodic tectonic activity controls not only the timing of shale deposition(with the greatest shale deposition occurring primarily during the peak period of basin tectonic activity) but also the spatial distribution of shale(located mainly in areas of maximum subsidence), the migration pattern of shale(conforming to that of the basin subsidence center), and shale strata thickness. Tectonic activity also affects the total organic carbon content and organic matter type in shale. When the tectonic activity was the most active and basal subsidence was the maximum, the total organic carbon content of the shale reached its highest value with organic matter type mainly Type I. 14Broad area quantum cascade lasers operating in pulsed mode above 100℃ at λ ~ 4.7 μm显示文摘We demonstrate a broad area(400 μm) high power quantum cascade laser(QCL). A total peak power of 62 W operating at room temperature is achieved at λ~ 4.7 μm. The temperature dependence of the peak power characteristic is given in the experiment, and also the temperature of the active zone is simulated by a finite-elementmethod(FEM). 16Five-year follow-up of 23 asymmetrical Parkinson's disease patients treated with unilateral subthalamic nucleus stimulation显示文摘In this study, 23 asymmetrical Parkinson's disease patients were treated with unilateral deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus and followed up for 5 years. At 5 years after stimulation treatment, Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale II, III and axial symptom scores in the off-drug condition were significantly increased compared those at baseline. However, total Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale II, III and axial symptom scores were significantly lower with stimulation-on compared with the synchronous stimulation-off state in off-drug condition, and the motor symptoms of contralateral side limbs were effectively controlled. Only low Hoehn-Yahr stage was correlated with good long-term postoperative improvement in motor symptoms. The mean levodopa-equivalent daily dose after stimulation treatment was significantly lower than that before treatment, but dyskinesias became worse. 17Numerical simulation of pulsatile non-Newtonian flow in the carotid artery bifurcation显示文摘Both clinical and post mortem studies indicatethat,in humans,the carotid sinus of the carotid artery bifur-cation is one of the favored sites for the genesis and develop-ment of atherosclerotic lesions.Hemodynamic factors havebeen suggested to be important in atherogenesis.Tounderstand the correlation between atherogenesis and fluiddynamics in the carotid sinus,the blood flow in artery wassimulated numerically.In those studies,the property of bloodwas treated as an incompressible,Newtonian fluid.In fact,however,the blood is a complicated non-Newtonian fluidwith shear thinning and viscoelastic properties,especiallywhen the shear rate is low.A variety of non-Newtonian mod-els have been applied in the numerical studies.Among them,the Casson equation was widely used.However,the Cas-son equation agrees well only when the shear rate is lessthan 10s^(-1).The flow field of the carotid bifurcation usuallycovers a wide range of shear rate.We therefore believe thatit may not be sufficient to describe the property of bloodonly using the Casson equation in the whole flow field ofthe carotid bifurcation.In the present study,three differentblood constitutive models,namely,the Newtonian,the Cas-son and the hybrid fluid constitutive models were used in theflow simulation of the human carotid bifurcation.The resultswere compared among the three models.The results showedthat the Newtonian model and the hybrid model had very similar distributions of the axial velocity,secondary flow andwall shear stress,but the Casson model resulted in significantdifferences in these distributions from the other two mod-els.This study suggests that it is not appropriate to only usethe Casson equation to simulate the whole flow field of thecarotid bifurcation,and on the other hand,Newtonian fluidis a good approximation to blood for flow simulations in thecarotid artery bifurcation.Yubo Fan Wentao Jiang Yuanwen Zou Jinchuan Li Junkai Chen Xiaoyan Deng 2009Acta Mechanica Sinica2009,25,2:3

20InAs-based interband cascade lasers at 4.0 μm operating at room temperature显示文摘InAs-based interband cascade lasers(ICLs) with InAs plasmon waveguides or InAs/AlSb superlattice(SL) waveguides were demonstrated at emission wavelengths below 4.1 μm. The threshold current densities of the lasers with SL waveguides were 37 A/cm^2 at 77 K in continuous wave mode. The operation temperature of these lasers reached room temperature in pulsed mode.
