| 1 | Lower Triassic Inorganic Carbon Isotope Excursion in Chaohu, Anhui Province, China显示文摘This paper reports a Lower Triassic inorganic carbon isotope profile from the North Pingdingshan Section in Chaohu, Anhui Province, China, which was situated in a deep part of the Lower Yangtze carbonate ramp. The δ ( 13 C) excursion shows two periods from the Permian Triassic boundary to the lower Spathian substage, corresponding to the ecosystem undergoing evolution and recovery after the end Permian mass extinction and related events. The first period starts at the δ ( 13 C) depletion caused by the mass extinction and evolves with a gradual δ ( 13 C) increase resulting from the development of some disaster taxa during the Induan. The strong Smithian δ ( 13 C) depletion in the second period might be formed by the collapse of the disaster ecosystem and the biotic recovery occurred with the explosive increase of bioproductivity in the Spathian. | 2 | Hanning self-convolution window and its application to harmonic analysis显示文摘The Hanning self-convolution window (HSCW) is proposed in this paper. And the phase difference correction algorithm based on the discrete spectrum and the HSCW is given. The HSCW has a low peak side lobe level, a high side lobe roll-off rate, and a simple spectrum representation. Hence, leakage errors and harmonic interferences can be considerably reduced by weighting samples with the HSCW, the parameter estimation by the HSCW-based phase difference correction algorithm is free of solving high order equations, and the overall method can be easily implemented in embedded systems. | 3 | Discussion on Induan-Olenekian Boundary in Chaohu, Anhui Province, China显示文摘This paper proposes a scheme for the definition of the Lower Triassic Induan Olenekian boundary (IOB) based on investigation of sections in Chaohu, Anhui Province, China as well as data accumulated from other studies elsewhere. The conodont Neospathodus waageni is suggested as the index fossil of the boundary. | 4 | Carbon-Isotope Excursions Recorded in the Cambrian System,South China:Implications for Mass Extinctions and Sea-Level Fluctuations显示文摘Cambrian carbonates with abundant fossils of agnostoid trilobites deposited on the southern slope(Jiangnan slope belt) of the Yangtze Platform and in the Jiangnan deepwater basin are well exposed in the Wangcun Section of western Hunan, South China, and in the Duibian A Section of western Zhejiang, southeastern China, respectively. To better understand the response of carbon-isotope excursions to depositional environment changes, mass extinctions and eustatic events, we collected 530 carbonate samples in fresh roadcut exposures of the two measured sections for analysis of carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions. Data of δ13 C from the Wangcun Section, western Hunan, South China, demonstrate that the Cambrian carbon-isotope profile includes three remarkable positive excursions CPEwc-1, 2, 3 in the Upper Series 2, in the Lower and in the Middle Furongian Series. Three distinctive negative excursions CNEwc-1, 2, 3 were separately tested in the Lower Terreneuvian Series, Lower Series 3 and in the Upper Furongian Series. Similarly, in the corresponding horizons in the Duibian A Section, Zhejiang Province, southeastern China, three positive excursions CPEdb-1, 2, 3 and three negative excursions CNEdb-1, 2, 3 also have been discovered. | 5 | Improvement of microstructure and fatigue performance of wire-arc additive manufacture d 4043 aluminum alloy assiste d by interlayer friction stir processing显示文摘To expand the application of wire-arc additive manufacturing(WAAM)in aluminum alloy forming com-ponents,it is vitally important to reduce the porosity,refine microstructure,and thereby improve the mechanical properties of the components.In this study,the interlayer friction stir processing(FSP)tech-nique was employed to assist the WAAM of 4043 Al-Si alloy,and the related effects on the microstruc-ture evolutions and mechanical properties of the fabricated builds were systematacially investigated.As compared to the conventional WAAM processing of Al-Si alloy,it was found that the introduction of in-terlayer FSP can effectively eliminate the pores,and both theα-Al dendrites and Si-rich eutectic network were severely broken up,leading to a remarkable enhancement in ductility and fatigue performance.The average yield strength(YS)and ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of the Al-based components produced by the combination of WAAM and interlayer FSP methods were 88 and 148 MPa,respectively.Meanwhile,the elongation(EL)of 37.5%and 28.8%can be achieved in the horizontal and vertical directions,respec-tively.Such anisotropy of EL was attributed to the inhomogeneous microstructure in the stir zone(SZ).Notably,the stress concentration can be effectively reduced by the elimination of porosity and Si-rich eu-tectic network fragmentation by the interlayer FSP,and thus the fatigue behavior was improved with the fatigue strength and elongation increased by∼28%and∼108.7%,respectively.It is anticipated that this study will provide a powerful strategy and theoretical guidance for the WAAM fabrication of Al-based alloy components with high ductility and fatigue performance. | Changshu He Jingxun Wei Ying Li Zhiqiang Zhang Ni Tian Gaowu Qin Liang Zuo | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,2: | 2 |

| 8 | Enhancing the mechanical performance of Al-Zn-Mg alloy builds fabricated via underwater friction stir additive manufacturing and post-processing aging显示文摘Our previous studies have demonstrated that underwater friction stir additive manufacturing(FSAM)could effectively suppress the macroscale softening of the fabricated Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy build from top to bottom.However,the accompanying local softening problem,i.e.,a low-hardness region at the bottom of each stir zone,becomes prominent.In this study,an Al-Zn-Mg alloy with low quench sensitivity was used to fabricate a multilayered build via underwater FSAM.In-process water cooling could effectively solve the macroscale and local softening problems in the FSAM of the Al-Zn-Mg alloy and improve the mechanical performance of the build.The microhardness and ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of the water-cooled build in as-fabricated and aged states were more uniform along the building direction and higher than those of their counterparts.After 90 days of natural aging,the UTS of the water-cooled build in building and traveling directions reached 398 and 400 MPa,respectively,slightly higher than that of the base metal(392 MPa).The enhancement in the mechanical performance of the water-cooled build was attributed to a high degree of supersaturation and age-strengthening ability because of a high cooling rate of the underwater FSAM process and low quench sensitivity of the base metal. | Changshu He Ying Li Jingxun Wei Zhiqiang Zhang Ni Tian Gaowu Qin Xiang Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,13: | 1 |
| 9 | Carbon Isotope from Shallow Marine System in North China:Implications for Stratigraphical Correlation and Sea-Level Changes in Cambrian显示文摘Cambrian System at the Shatan Section in northern Henan,North China,consists of sedimentary successions of tidal flat and shallow-water carbonate platform facies.Data of carbon isotope(δ^(13)C_(carb))from this section reveals five positive δ^(13)C_(carb)(P_(st-1)-P_(st-5))and five negative δ^(13)C_(carb) excursions(N_(st-1)-N_(st-5)).In the positive excursions,δ^(13)C_(carb) rises to 0.88‰,1.05‰,2.04‰,1.00‰ and 2.97‰,respectively,while in the negative excursions δ^(13)C_(carb) drops to -8.00‰,-3.50‰,-1.00‰,-0.33‰ and around -2.00‰,respectively.On the basis of chronostratigraphy of Cambrian,the most remarkable carbon isotope excursions can be correlated regionally and globally.In addition,one second-order and ten third-order sequences have been recognized at this section.Correlating third-order sequences and chemostratigraphy indicates that carbonates from the basal part of the transgression system tract(TST)and the upper part of the high-water system(LHST)generally have lighter δ^(13)C_(carb) values,whereas massive carbonates with microbialite from the lower part of the high-water system tract(EHST)usually have heavier δ^(13)C_(carb) values.The association of δ^(13)C_(carb) values with sea-level fluctuations suggests that the positive carbon isotope excursions or high δ^(13)C_(carb) values may have been caused by an increase in the marine primary productivity in response to maximum seawater flooding during the transgression. | Jingxun Zuo Xuejian Zhu Yonglin Chen Wenjian Zhai | 2023 | Journal of Earth Science2023,34,6: | 0 |
