| 1 | Investigation of heavy metal partitioning influenced by flue gas moisture and chlorine content during waste incineration显示文摘The impact of moisture on the partitioning of the heavy metals including Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd in municipal solid waste (MSW) was studied in a laboratory tubular furnace.A thermodynamic investigation using CHEMKIN software was performed to compare the experimental results.Simulated waste,representative of typical MSW with and without chlorine compounds,was burned at the background temperature of 700 and 950°C,respectively.In the absence of chlorine,the moisture content has no evident effect on the volatility of Pb,Zn and Cu at either 700 or 950°C,however,as flue gas moisture increasing the Cd distribution in the bottom ash increased at 700°C and reduced at 950°C,respectively.In the presence of chlorine,the flue gas moisture reduced the volatility of Pb,Zn and Cu due to the transformation of the more volatile metal chlorides into less volatile metal oxides,and the reduction became significant as chlorine content increase.For Cd,the chlorine promotes its volatility through the formation of more volatile CdCl 2.As a result,the increased moisture content increases the Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd concentrations in the bottom ash,which limits the utilization of the bottom ash as a construction material.Therefore,in order to accumulate heavy metals into the fly ash,MSW should be dried before incineration. | Qinghai Li,Aihong Meng,Jinyan Jia,Yanguo Zhang Department of Thermal Engineering,Key Laboratory for Thermal Science and Power Engineering of the Ministry of Education of China,Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China. | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5: | 24 |

It presents detailed analyses of land-use features in the IAFP, which are controlled by the macro geomorphic units and geophysical conditions-constraints or advantages. Additionally, it selects some indicators, according to the availability in acquiring and processing their quantitative data, to analyze the canonical correlations between the typical conversion of grassland and geophysical conditions. The preliminary study indicates that the physical conditions are of great advantages to the development of grassland. | 3 | The herbal compound geniposide rescues formaldehyde-induced apoptosis in N2a neuroblastoma cells显示文摘The herbal medicine Tong Luo Jiu Nao(TLJN)contains geniposide(GP)and ginsenoside Rg1 at a molar ratio of 10:1.Rg1 is the major component of another herbal medicine,panax notoginseng saponin(PNS).TLJN has been shown to strengthen brain function in humans,and in animals it improves learning and memory.We have previously shown that TLJN reduces amyloidogenic processing in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)mouse models.Together this suggests TLJN may be a potential treatment for patients with dementia.Because chronic damage of the central nervous system by formaldehyde(FA)has been presented as a risk factor for age-associated cognitive dysfunction,in the present study we investigated the protective effect of both TLJN and GP in neuron-like cells exposed to FA.FA-exposed murine N2a neuroblastoma cells were incubated with TLJN,its main ingredient GP,as well as PNS,to measure cell viability and morphology,the rate of apoptosis and expression of genes encoding Akt,FOXO3,Bcl2 and p53.The CCK-8 assay,cytoskeletal staining and flow cytometry were used to test cell viability,morphology and apoptosis,respectively.Fluorescent quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)was used to monitor changes in gene expression,and HPLC to determine the rate of FA clearance.Treatment of N2a cells with 0.09 mmol L?1 FA for 24 h significantly reduced cell viability,changed cell morphology and promoted apoptosis.Both TLJN and GP conferred neuroprotection to FA-treated N2a cells,whereas PNS,which had to be used at lower concentrations because of its toxicity,did not.Our data demonstrate that TLJN can rescue neuronal damage caused by FA and that its main ingredient,GP,has a major role in this efficacy.This presents purified GP as a drug or lead compound for the treatment of AD. | CHEN JinYan SUN MengRu WANG XingHua LU Jing WEI Yan TAN Yan LIU Ying GTZ Jürgen HE RongQiao HUA Qian | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,4: | 15 |
| 4 | Ampelopsin, a Small Molecule Inhibitor of HIV-1 Infection Targeting HIV Entry显示文摘Objective To investigate the anti-HIV effects of ampelopsin and its interaction with HIV-1 coreceptor CXCR4. Methods Through anti-virus experiments in vitro, the inhibitory effect of ampelopsin on HIV-1 infection was verified. Chemotaxis assay was performed to show the ability to induce PBMCs migration by ampelopsin, RANTES and SDF-1(. Fluorescence labelling monoclonal antibody was utilized to observe the interaction of ampelopsin and CXCR4. Mice immunosuppressant model was also established to detail the role ampelopsin played in regulating cellular immunological functions. Results Ampelopsin could protect sensitive cells against HIV-1 infection and dramatically reduce HIV-1 antigen P24 expression. HIV-1SF33 attaching to MT-4 cells was interfered by ampelopsin, and the EC50 was 0.175 mg/mL for cellular protection and 0.024 mg/mL for P24 inhibition. At co-cultivating phase, EC50 was 0.229 mg/mL and 0.197 mg/mL respectively. Furthermore, the EC50 was 0.179 mg/mL and 0.348 mg/mL in acute infection. Human PBMCs migration was induced after being challenged with ampelopsin or chemokines, and synergistic action was observed during co-treatment. Ampelopsin alone resulted in maximal chemotaxis at 1 mg/mL. HIV-1 co-receptor CXCR4 on the surface of PBMCs was decreased by internalization, which indicated the effect of ampelopsin on CXCR4. About 70% CXCR4 was reduced by ampelopsin at 1 mg/mL. Ampelopsin also augmented cellular immunological functions in immunosuppressive mice. Conclusion Ampelopsin displays a strong inhibitive role during HIV-1 absorption, incubation and acute infection. | 7 | Simulation on the dynamics of forest area changes in Northeast China显示文摘There is plenty of forests in Northeast China which contributes a lot to the conservation of water and land resources, produces timber products, and provides habitats for a huge number of wild animals and plants. With changes of socio-economic factors as well as the geophysical conditions, there are dramatic changes on the spatial patterns of forest area. In this sense, it is of great significance to shed light on the dynamics of forest area changes to find the underlining reasons for shaping the changing patterns of forest area in Northeast China. To explore the dynamics of forest area change in Northeast China, an econometric model is developed which is composed of three equations identifying forestry production, conversion from open forest to closed forest and conversion from other land uses to closed forest so as to explore the impacts on the forest area changes from demographic, social, economic, location and geophysical factors. On this basis, we employ the Dynamics of Land System (DLS) model to simulate land-use conversions between forest area and non-forest cover and the land-use conversions within the sub-classes of forest area for the period 2000–2020 under business as usual scenario, environmental protection scenario and economic growth scenario. The simulation results show that forest area will expand continuously and there exist various kinds of changing patterns for the sub-classes of forest area, for example, closed forest will expand continuously and open forest and shrub will decrease a little bit, while area of other forest will keep intact. | 8 | Fault self-repair strategy based on evolvable hardware and reparation balance technology显示文摘In the face of harsh natural environment applications such as earth-orbiting and deep space satellites, underwater sea vehicles, strong electromagnetic interference and temperature stress,the circuits faults appear easily. Circuit faults will inevitably lead to serious losses of availability or impeded mission success without self-repair over the mission duration. Traditional fault-repair methods based on redundant fault-tolerant technique are straightforward to implement, yet their area, power and weight cost can be excessive. Moreover they utilize all plug-in or component level circuits to realize redundant backup, such that their applicability is limited. Hence, a novel selfrepair technology based on evolvable hardware(EHW) and reparation balance technology(RBT) is proposed. Its cost is low, and fault self-repair of various circuits and devices can be realized through dynamic configuration. Making full use of the fault signals, correcting circuit can be found through EHW technique to realize the balance and compensation of the fault output-signals. In this paper, the self-repair model was analyzed which based on EHW and RBT technique, the specific self-repair strategy was studied, the corresponding self-repair circuit fault system was designed, and the typical faults were simulated and analyzed which combined with the actual electronic devices. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed fault self-repair strategy was feasible. | 9 | Late Cretaceous palynology and paleoclimate change:Evidence from the SK1(South) core, Songliao Basin, NE China显示文摘Cretaceous climate was warmer than today.The Songliao Basin contains one of the most important Late Cretaceous non-marine deposits in China for the research of the paleoenvironment and paleoclimate.This research is based on core samples from the SK1(S)borehole.The strata sampled are the upper part of the Quantou Formation to member 2 of the Nenjiang Formation,where spores,pollen,dinoflagellates,and other microfossils are abundantly preserved.Based on analysis of the spores and pollen fossils from the core samples,the following six fossil assemblage zones have been recognized in ascending order:The Cicatricosisporites-Cyathidites-Pinuspollenites,Schizaeoisporites-Cyathidites-Classopollis,Cyathidites-Schizaeoisporites,Schizaeoisporites-Cyathidites-Proteacidites,Proteacidites-Cyathidites-Dictyotriletes,and the Lythraites-Callistipollenites-Schizaeoisporites zones.The six fossil zones range from the late Cenomanian to early Campanian.The Late Cretaceous dinoflagellate cysts in the Songliao Basin are of high abundance and low diversity.Specific phytoplankton types reflect salinity changes of the Songliao Lake.Paleoecology of the dinoflagellates suggests that sediments of members 2 and 3 of the Yaojia Formation(K2y2+3)were deposited in a freshwater environment,whereas members 2 and 3 of the Qingshankou Formation(K2q2+3)and members 1 and 2 of the Nenjiang Formation(K2n1+2)were deposited in freshwater to brackish water environments.Combined with the paleoecology of dinoflagellates and the palynomorph biozones,valuable information of the paleoclimate was provided.The quantitative analyses of spores and pollen fossils,such as vegetation type,climate type,and humidity type,diversity and dominance,indicate a relatively sub-humid,mid-subtropical paleoclimate,with slight climatic fluctuation and/or temporal change. | ZHAO Jing WAN XiaoQiao XI DangPeng JING Xia LI Wei HUANG QingHua ZHANG JinYan | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12: | 10 |
| 10 | Recent progress of nanogenerators acting as biomedical sensors in vivo显示文摘Since the nanogenerator(NG) was invented in 2006, it has been successfully developed and utilized to harvest various forms of mechanical energy in vivo. The NGs promote the progress of self-powered biomedical devices. Moreover, NGs can also be used as sensors to detect a variety of important physiological signals, which brings us closer to real-time, high-fidelity monitoring of physical and pathological information. This paper summarizes the in vivo applications of NGs as biomedical sensors, including in cardiac sensors, respiration sensors, blood pressure sensors, gastrointestinal sensors and bladder sensors.However, there are still many challenges in using NGs as sensors in vivo. For example, how can we minimize and encapsulate the NGs, how can we increase the stability and reliability during long-term detection, and how can we establish a corresponding relationship between the NG’s electrical output and the physiological signals. It is also critical to follow the medical principles more closely in the development of self-powered sensors in the future. | 11 | Expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and its pathogenic effects in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Objective:To investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and its pathological effect in the experimental nonalcoholic fatty liver of rats,and to explore its possible mechanism.Methods:The rat NAFLD model was established by giving a fat-enriched diet.The blood samples were obtained form abdominal aorta and the levels of serum ALT,AST and IL-1,changes in the hepatic tissue 6-k-PGF1α TXB2 were measured.The expression level of COX-2 in rats livers were assayed by immunohistochemistry,RT-PCR and Western-blot.Results:Light microscope analysis revealed that hepatocytes were injured in the model group and slightly in the treatment group.The levels of serum TXB2 and IL-1 in the fatty liver rats were increased.Compared with the model group,the IL-1 and TXB2 increased significantly(P < 0.05),on the contrary,compared with the normal group,the hepatic tissue 6-Keto-prostagland decreased significantly in the model group(P < 0.05),the treatment group also increased but P > 0.05.There was no positive expression of COX-2 in hepatic tissue of normal rats.In the model group,there was positive expression of COX-2 antigen and the number of COX positive cells progressively increased at 4,8,12 wks.The intensity of expression of COX-2 had significantly increased(P < 0.05)and the intensity of COX-2 expression in the treated group decreased remarkably compared with the model group(P < 0.05).The expression of COX-2 mRNA and the level of COX-2 protein were significantly stronger in the liver of model rats compared with normal rats,and significantly weaker in treated rats,than in 8W and 12W model rats(P < 0.05).Conclusion:The increase of COX-2 expression in NAFLD is closely associated with the severity of liver inflammation and damage.COX-2 may play an important role in the progression of rat NAFLD,and the expression of COX-2 mRNA is downregulated by cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor,which can depress the oxidative stress and control inflammatory response efficiently. | Mingbo Cao Lei Dong Xiaolan Lu Jinyan Luo | 2008 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2008,22,2: | 7 |

| 14 | Infective viruses produced from full-length complementary DNA of swine vesicular disease viruses HK/70 strain显示文摘The full-length cDNA clone of swine vesicular disease virus HK/70 strain named pSVOK12 was constructed in order to study the antigenicity, replication, maturation and pathogenicity of swine vesicular disease virus. In vitro transcription RNA from pSVOK12 transfected IBRS-2 cells and the re- covered virus RNA were isolated and sequenced, then indirect hemagglutination test, indirect im- munofluorescence assays, eleectron microscope test, 50% tissue culture infecting dose (TCID50) assays and mouse virulence studies were performed to study the antigenicity and virulence of the recovered virus. The result showed that the infectious clones we ob- tained and the virus derived from pSVOK12 had the same biological properties as the parental strain HK/70. | 15 | Estimation of Land Production and Its Response to Cultivated Land Conversion in North China Plain显示文摘Food safety and its related influencing factors in China are the hot research topics currently,and cultivated land conversion is one of the significant factors influencing food safety in China.Taking the North China Plain as the study area,this paper examines the changes of cultivated land area using satellite images,estimates land productivity from 1985 to 2005 using the model of Estimation System for Land Productivity(ESLP),and analyzes the impact of cultivated land conversion on the land production.Compared with the grain yield data from statistical yearbooks,the results indicate that ESLP model is an effective tool for estimating land productivity.Land productivity in the North China Plain showed a slight decreasing trend from 1985 to 2005,spatially,increased from the north to the south gradu-ally,and the net changes varied in different areas.Cultivated land area recorded a marginal decrease of 8.0 × 105 ha,mainly converted to other land uses.Cultivated land conversion had more significant negative impacts on land produc-tion than land productivity did.Land production decreased by about 6.48 × 106 t caused by cultivated land conversion between 1985 and 2005,accounting for 91.9% of the total land production reduction.Although the land productivity increased in Anhui and Jiangsu provinces,it can not offset the overall adverse effects caused by cultivated land con-version.Therefore,there are significant meanings to control the cultivated land conversion and improve the land pro-ductivity for ensuring the land production in the North China Plain. | JIANG Qun'ou DENG Xiangzheng ZHAN Jinyan HE Shujin | 2011 | Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,6: | 6 |
| 16 | Production of Two Elite Glutinous Rice Varieties by Editing Wx Gene显示文摘The waxy gene(Wx) in rice, which encodes the granule bound starch synthase enzyme, is responsible for amylose synthesis. Glutinous(sticky) rice has little or no amylose that can be used in various applications, such as brewing. In this study, knockout of the Wx gene with CRISPR/Cas9 technology was conducted in two elite japonica rice lines, Huaidao 5(HD5) and Suken 118(SK118), aiming to develop elite sticky rice varieties. We achieved six homozygous T_0 plants with more than 200 bp deletion in the Wx gene, as well as 36 wx-HD5 and 18 wx-SK118 homozygous transgene-free plants in the T_1 generation. The seeds of all the mutants were white and opaque, similar to those of sticky rice, and contained only 2.6%–3.2% amylose. Results of scanning electron microscopy showed that the quality of rice did not change. | 17 | Emerging molecular subtypes and therapeutic targets in B-cell precursor acute lymphoblasti显示文摘B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia(BCP-ALL)is characterized by genetic alterations with high heterogeneity.Precise subtypes with distinct genomic and/or gene expression patterns have been recently revealed using high-throughput sequencing technology.Most of these profiles are associated with recurrent non-overlapping rearrangements or hotspot point mutations that are analogous to the established subtypes,such as DUX4 rearrangements,MEF2D rearrangements,ZNF384/ZNF362 rearrangements,NUTM1 rearrangements,BCL2/MYC and/or BCL6 rearrangements,ETV6-RUNX1-like gene expression,PAX5alt(diverse PAX5 alterations,including rearrangements,intragenic amplifications,or mutations),and hotspot mutations PAX5(p.Pro80Arg)with biallelic PAX5 alterations,IKZF1(p.Asn159Tyr),and ZEB2(p.His1038Arg).These molecular subtypes could be classified by gene expression patterns with RNA-seq technology.Refined molecular classification greatly improved the treatment strategy.Multiagent therapy regimens,including target inhibitors(e.g.,imatinib),immunomodulators,monoclonal antibodies,and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell(CAR-T)therapy,are transforming the clinical practice from chemotherapy drugs to personalized medicine in the field of risk-directed disease management.We provide an update on our knowledge of emerging molecular subtypes and therapeutic targets in BCP-ALL. | Jianfeng Li Yuting Dai Liang Wu Ming Zhang Wen Ouyang Jinyan Huang Saijuan Chen | 2021 | Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,3: | 6 |
| 18 | Optimization based accurate scheduling for generation and reserve of power system显示文摘With the improvement of electricity markets,the gradual aggravation of energy shortage and the environment pollution,it is urgent to formulate a new model to precisely satisfy the system demand for energy and reserve.Currently,power system opti-mization dispatching is always formulated as a discrete-time scheduling model.In this paper,we first demonstrate through an example that the upper and lower bounds of spinning reserve offered by a unit,given in the discrete-time model framework as constraints,is unreachable.This causes the problem that the reserve delivery obtained by the discrete-time scheduling model cannot be carried out precisely.From the detailed analysis of the ramp rate constraints,it is proved that the reachable upper and lower bounds of spinning reserve in every period can be expressed as functions of two variables,i.e.,generation level of unit at the start and end of this period.Thus,a new method is provided to calculate the upper and lower bounds of spinning reserve which are reachable in average.Furthermore,a new model based on this proposed method for joint scheduling of generation and reserve is presented,which considers the ability to realize the scheduled energy and reserve delivery.It converts the opti-mization based accurate scheduling for generation and reserve of power system from a continuous-time optimal control prob-lem to a nonlinear programming problem.Therefore,the proposed model can avoid the difficulties in solving a continu-ous-time optimal control problem.Based on the sequential quadratic programming method,numerical experiments for sched-uling electric power production systems are performed to evaluate the model and the results show that the new model is highly effective. | GAO YunLong PAN JinYan YANG ZiJiang GAO Feng JI GuoLi | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,1: | 6 |
| 19 | Hepatitis B virus X protein enhances hepatocarcinogenesis by depressing the targeting of NUSAP1 mRNA by miR-18b显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the underlying mechanism whereby HBx modulates the targeting of NUSAP1 by miR-18b to enhance hepatocarcinogenesis.Methods: We employed an integrated approach of bioinformatics analysis and molecular experiments in hepatoma cells, HBV transgenic mice, and clinical liver cancer tissues to investigate the role of HBx-regulated miR-18b in the development of liver cancer.Results: In this study, we report that the HBx-mediated tumor suppressor miR-18b modulates hepatocarcinogenesis during the host-HBV interaction. The expression levels of miR-18b were lower in clinical HBV-positive liver cancer tissues and liver tissues of HBV-transgenic mice. Interestingly, HBx inhibited miR-18b expression by inducing the methylation of CpG islands in its promoter. Accordingly, we tested the hypothesis that HBx enhanced hepatocarcinogenesis by increasing the expression of target genes of miR-18b. Moreover, we identified nucleolar spindle-associated protein 1(NUSAP1) as one of the target genes of miR-18b.NUSAP1 was expressed at high levels in liver cancer tissues. Interestingly, HBx up-regulated NUSAP1 by suppressing miR-18b.Functionally, miR-18b significantly inhibited the proliferation of hepatoma cells by depressing NUSAP1 levels in vivo and in vitro.Conclusions: Thus, we conclude that the targeting of NUSAP1 mRNA by the tumor suppressor miR-18b is controlled by HBxmodulated promoter methylation during the host-virus interaction, leading to hepatocarcinogenesis. Although notable processes have been achieved in the past decades, their performance is still far less than that of Pt. Searching effective strategies to boosting their HER performance is still the primary goal. In this review, the recent process of the electronic regulation of MoS2 for HER is summarized, including band structure engineering, electronic state modulation, orbital orientation regulation, interface engineering.
