| 3 | Thermal conductivity of PVDF/PANI-nanofiber composite membrane aligned in an electric field显示文摘Poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer with excellent thermal stability,electrochemical stability and corrosion resistance, which has been widely studied and applied in industrial nonmetallic heat exchanger and piezoelectric-film sensor. In this study, polyaniline(PANI) nanofibers were synthesized using dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid as the surfactant. The obtained PANI nanofibers were blended in PVDF matrix to enhance thermal conductivity and tensile strength of composite materials. Electric field was applied for the orientation of membrane structure during membrane formation. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) images exhibited that the PANI nanofibers were well-dispersed in the composite membranes. The structure of composite membranes was more orderly after alignment. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) indicated that the content of PANI nanofibers contributed to the transformation of PVDF from α-phase to β-phase. Both the tensile strength and thermal conductivity of composite membranes were significantly improved. This tendency was further enhanced by the application of electric field. The maximum tensile strength was obtained when the content of PANI nanofibers was 3 wt%, which was 46.44% higher than that of pure PVDF membrane. The maximum thermal conductivity of composite membranes after alignment was 84.5% greater than that of pure PVDF membrane when the content of PANI nanofibers was 50 wt%. | 6 | Action of space charge on aging and breakdown of polymers显示文摘The study on how space charges affect aging and breakdown of polymers becomes one of the most important domains. Most of the models are based on the injected charges increasing the local field to induce the breakdown of polymers and breaking the large molecule chains. These models ignore the effects of space charge on the microstruc-ture of dielectric materials. In this review, with the calculation of the electromagnetic energy and the electromechanical energy around a trapped charge and with some new experimental results, it is proved that aging and breakdown in polymers are caused during the detrapping of the trapped charges. | 9 | Giant Rheological Effect of Shear Thickening Suspension Comprising Silica Nanoparticles with No Aggregation显示文摘The spherical silica particles in narrow size distribution with different diameters of 90 nm, 200 nm, 320 nm and 400 nm were prepared by the modified St?ber method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and dynamic light scattering(DLS). The phase composition of particles was characterized by X-ray diffraction. The results indicated that each of the silica particle samples was in amorphous state. The shear thickening fluids(STFs) comprising 53 vol.%of silica particles and 47 vol.% of polyethylene glycol with molecular weight of 200 g mol^(-1)(PEG200) were prepared and evaluated. The influence of size and size distribution on the critical shear rate and the intensity of shear thickening were analyzed. The STFs prepared by silica nanoparticles with a diameter of90 nm showed the giant rheological effect with the critical shear rate of 2.51 s^(-1), the largest viscosity of45,500 Pa·s and the yield stress of 181 kPa.
