1Antibacterial activity of Cu_2O and Ag co-modified rice grains-like ZnO nanocomposites显示文摘In this work, a series of Cu_2O-Ag/ZnO, Cu_2O/ZnO and Ag/ZnO nanocomposites with various compositions were prepared via a hydrothermal method followed by chemical modification, and their antibacterial performance was investigated in detail. X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy results confirmed that 31 nm Cu20 and 30 nm Ag nanoparticles are well-dispersed on 202 nm ZnO grains to form a Cu_2O/ZnO and Ag/ZnO heterojunction, respectively. The bi-heterojuction structure in the Cu20-Ag/ZnO provided a synergistic effect on antibacterial activity, and the(Cu_2O)_(0.04)Ag_(0.06)ZnO_(0.9) nanocomposites showed the highest antimicrobial activity of all samples with minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as low to 31.25 μg/mL, 250μg/mL, 125μg/mL and 500μg/mL, respectively. 2Impacts of Uncertainty in AVOC Emissions on the Summer RO_x Budget and Ozone Production Rate in the Three Most Rapidly-Developing Economic Growth Regions of China显示文摘High levels of uncertainty in non-methane volatile organic compound(NMVOC) emissions in China could lead to significant variation in the budget of the sum of hydroxyl(OH) and peroxy(HO2, RO2) radicals(ROx= OH + HO2+ RO2)and the ozone production rate [P(O3)], but few studies have investigated this possibility, particularly with three-dimensional air quality models. We added diagnostic variables into the WRF-Chem model to assess the impact of the uncertainty in anthropogenic NMVOC(AVOC) emissions on the ROxbudget and P(O3) in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta of China. The WRF-Chem simulations were compared with satellite and ground observations,and previous observation-based model studies. Results indicated that 68% increases(decreases) in AVOC emissions produced4%–280% increases(2%–80% decreases) in the concentrations of OH, HO2, and RO2 in the three regions, and resulted in35%–48% enhancements(26%–39% reductions) in the primary ROxproduction and ~ 65% decreases(68%–73% increases)of the P(O3) in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. For the three cities, the two largest contributors to the ROxproduction rate were the reaction of O1 D + H2 O and photolysis of HCHO, ALD2, and others; the reaction of OH + NO2(71%–85%)was the major ROxsink; and the major contributor to P(O3) was the reaction of HO2+ NO(~ 65%). 3Effect of different twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation techniques on the blood flow perfusion at acupoints显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effect of different twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation techniques on the blood flow perfusion at acupoints to provide a reference for the study of acupoint specificity and the quantification and effectiveness of acupuncture methods. METHODS: Twenty healthy male or female college students each received four different acupuncture manipulation techniques, including simple acupuncture, uniform reinforcing-reducing needling, twirling reinforcing needling, and twisting reducing needling. The self-control method was applied. Acupuncture was performed by an acupuncture manipulation simulator at Neiguan (PC 6) and Zusanli (ST 36). The process of twirling and rotating was divided into seven timepoints. The PeriCam Perfusion Speckle Imager (PSI) System was used to collect the blood flow perfusion data at each acupoint. The specificity of twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation was analyzed based on changes in the curve, video, and numerical blood flow perfusion data at each timepoint. RESULTS: There were two peaks in the blood flow perfusion curve of twirling and rotating acupuncture manipulation;one appeared after 3 min of needle retention, and the other appeared 3 min after needle removal. The blood flow perfusion parameters showed that the greatest differences between the four manipulation techniques occurred after 5 and 10 min of needle retention. The specificity of various manipulation techniques was most obvious at these two timepoints. There were significant differences between the four manipulation groups in the blood flow perfusion and the relative change rates of blood flow perfusion at each timepoint. CONCLUSION: Laser speckle imaging enables the real-time, non-invasive, rapid, and accurate collection of blood flow perfusion data during acupuncture. This imaging technique enables the easy attainment of various parameters such as visual images, two-dimensional curves, and data tables. At various timepoints, the four groups significantly differed regarding changes in blood flow perfusion and relative change rates of blood flow perfusion, which facilitated the differentiation of the four acupuncture manipulation methods. Based on this, further analysis could be conducted to study spatial distribution characteristics such as the influence area and flare area. 4Identification and characterization of the cellular subclones that contribute to the pathogenesis of mantle cell lymphoma显示文摘Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)is a B-cell malignancy with poor clinical outcome and undefined pathogenesis.Development of clinically relevant cellular models for MCL research is an urgent need.Our preliminary observations lead the development of two novel hypotheses that we tested in this study:1.multicellular spheroid might be a unique growth mode of earlystage cells in MCL;2.MCL might be a polyclonal tumor.We made the following original observations that have not been reported:First,we have provided a new experiment method for enriching MCL early-stage cells and characterized the spheroid mode of growth as a unique feature of early-stage MCL cells in cell line as well as in clinical samples.Second,we have established a clinically relevant cellular model of MCL,the JeKo-1-spheroid cell line,that was highly enriched in early-stage sub-clones.JeKo-1-spheroid cells and the spheroid growing cells enriched from MCL patients exhibited comparably enhanced tumorigenic abilities and similar biological features.Third,Immunophenotypic analysis has revealed that MCL may be derived from precursor-B(pre-B),immature-B and mature-B cells,not only the mature-B cells as WHO classified in 2016.Fourth,MCL may be a polyclonal disease composed of CD19e/IgMe,CD19 e/IgMt,CD19t/IgMt three sub-clones,of which the CD19e/IgMt sub-clone might be the dominant sub-clone with the strongest tumorigenic ability.Fifth,CD19t/IgMe that differentiates MCL and normal B cells may represent a new marker for MCL early detection,minor residual disease monitoring after therapies and prognosis.Junling Tang Li Zhang Tiejun Zhou Zhiwei Sun Liangsheng Kong Li Jing Hongyun Xing Hongyan Wu Yongli Liu Shixia Zhou Jingyuan Li Mei Chen Fang Xu Jirui Tang Tao Ma Min Hu Dan Liu Jing Guo Xiaofeng Zhu Yan Chen Ting Ye Jianyu Wang Xiaoming Li H.Rosie Xing 2019Genes & Diseases2019,6,4:2

7Apolipoprotein E mimetic peptide protects against diffuse brain injury显示文摘Apolipoprotein E plays a crucial role in inhibiting chronic neurodegenerative processes. However, its impact on neurological function following diffuse brain injury is still unclear. This study was designed to evaluate the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of action of apolipoprotein E mimetic peptide on diffuse brain injury. Apolipoprotein E mimetic peptide was administered into the caudal vein of rats with diffuse brain injury before and after injury. We found that apolipoprotein E mimetic peptide significantly decreased the number of apoptotic neurons, reduced extracellular signal-regulated kinase1/2 phosphorylation, down-regulated Bax and cytochrome c expression, decreased malondialdehyde content, and increased superoxide dismutase activity in a dose-dependent manner. 8Three-dimensional printed tissue engineered bone for canine mandibular defects显示文摘Background:Three-dimensional(3D)printed tissue engineered bone was used to repair the bone tissue defects in the oral and maxillofacial(OMF)region of experimental dogs.Material and methods:Canine bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)were obtained from 9 male Beagle dogs and in vitro cultured for osteogenic differentiation.The OMF region was scanned for 3D printed surgical guide plate and mold by ProJet1200 high-precision printer using implant materials followed sintering at 1250℃.The tissue engineered bones was co-cultured with BASCs for 2 or 8 d.The cell scaffold composite was placed in the defects and fixed in 9 dogs in 3 groups.Postoperative CT and/or micro-CT scans were performed to observe the osteogenesis and material degradation.Results:BMSCs were cultured with osteogenic differentiation in the second generation(P2).The nanoporous hydroxyapatite implant was made using the 3D printing mold with the white porous structure and the hard texture.BMSCs with osteogenic induction were densely covered with the surface of the material after co-culture and ECM was secreted to form calcium-like crystal nodules.The effect of the tissue engineered bone on the in vivo osteogenesis ability was no significant difference between 2 d and 8 d of the compositing time.Conclusions:The tissue-engineered bone was constructed by 3D printing mold and hightemperature sintering to produce nanoporous hydroxyapatite scaffolds,which repair in situ bone defects in experimental dogs.The time of compositing for tissue engineered bone was reduced from 8 d to 2 d without the in vivo effect.Li Zhang Junling Tang Libo Sun Ting Zheng Xianzhi Pu Yue Chen Kai Yang 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,1:1
9Prenatal diagnosis of spinocerebellar ataxia type 3/Machado-Joseph disease in China's Mainland A case report显示文摘Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3/Machado-Joseph disease (SCA3/MJD) is a progressive, currently untreatable and ultimately fatal ataxic disorder that belongs to the group of neurological disorders known as CAG-repeat or polyglutamine diseases. Here, we present the first prenatal diagnosis of SCA3/MJD in China's Mainland in a woman who was known to carry an expanded CAG-trinucleotide repeat in the MJD1 gene. After evaluating motivation and psychological tolerance of the couple, amniocentesis was performed after 14 weeks of gestation. Polymerase chain reactions followed by T-vector cloning and direct sequencing were employed to evaluate the CAG-repeat number of the fetal MJD1 gene. 10Monitoring microenvironment of Hep G2 cell apoptosis using two-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy显示文摘Apoptosis is very important for the maintenance of cellular homeostasis and is closely related to the occurrence and treatment of many diseases.Mitochondria in cells play a crucial role in programmed cell death and redox processes.Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD(P)H)is the primary producer of energy in mitochondria,changing NAD(P)H can directly reflect the physiological state of mitochondria.Therefore,NAD(P)H can be used to evaluate metabolic response.In this paper,we propose a noninvasive detection method that uses two-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy(TP-FLIM)to characterize apoptosis by observing the binding kinetics of cellular endogenous NAD(P)H.The result shows that the average fluorescence lifetime of NAD(P)H and the fluorescence lifetime of protein-bound NAD(P)H will be affected by the changing pH,serum content,and oxygen concentration in the cell culture environment,and by the treatment with reagents such as H2O2 and paclitaxel.Taxol(PTX).This noninvasive detection method realized the dynamic detection of cellular endogenous substances and the assessment of apoptosis.Kexin Wang Shiyao Tang Shiqi Wang Fangrui Lin Gengjin Zou Junle Qu Liwei Liu 2022Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2022,15,3:1
11Near infrared light-induced dynamic modulation of enzymatic activity through polyphenol-functionalized liquid metal nanodroplets显示文摘Dynamic manipulation of enzymatic activity is a challenging task for applications in chemical and pharmaceutical industries due to the difficult modification and variable conformation of various enzymes.Here, we report a new strategy for reversible dynamic modulation of enzymatic activity by near-infrared light-induced photothermal conversion based on polyphenol-functionalized liquid metal nanodroplets(LM). The metal-phenolic nanocoating not only provides colloidal stability of LM nanodroplets but also generates nanointerfaces for the assembly of various enzymes on the LM nanodroplets. Upon near infrared(NIR) irradiation, the localized microenvironmental heating through photothermal effect of the LM nanodroplets allows tailoring the enzymatic activity without affecting the bulk temperature. 135-2 Development of a Multi-layer Scintillator Telescope for the External Target Experiments显示文摘A new ΔE-E telescope has been constructed at the external target hall of CSRm[? ]. It is composed of 7 layers ofCsI(Tl) crystals. For each crystal, 4 photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) is coupled to the truncated corners for collectingscintillation light. Each crystal has an active area of 50 mm  50 mm, and the thickness of the crystals are between5 and 10 mm. According to the requests of different experiments, the combination and the ordering of the layerscould be different. In order to achieve good uniformity of light collection, the dressing of each crystal was carefullychosen. 14Rare TBK1 variants in patients with frontotemporal dementia and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in a Chinese cohort显示文摘Background:The TANK-Binding Kinase 1(TBK1)gene has recently been identified as the third or fourth most frequent cause of frontotemporal dementia(FTD)and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS).The aim of this study was to assess the genetic contribution of TBK1 in a Chinese cohort.Methods:A total of 270 cases with ALS,FTD,or their combination were recruited into this study.All the coding exons of TBK1 and intron-exon boundaries were sequenced using Sanger sequencing.The frequency of TBK1 variants and the correlation with clinical phenotypes were analyzed.Results:A novel mutation(c.1959_1960insGT,p.E653fs)was identified in a sporadic case with semantic dementia,secondarily developing ALS.Another novel variant(c.2063_2064delTT,p.L688Rfs*14)was found in an ALS-FTD family.Totally,the TBK1 variants could only account for 0.7% of cases.Conclusions:This study enlarges the genetic and phenotypic spectrum of TBK1 mutation in a Chinese cohort.Our data indicates that TBK1 mutation is not a common cause for ALS and FTD in Chinese patients.Bin Jiao Qiying Sun Zhenhua Yuan Junling Wang Lin Zhou Xinxiang Yan Beisha Tang Lu Shen 2018Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1:0
15Liquid metal compartmented by polyphenol-mediated nanointerfaces enables high-performance thermal management on electronic devices显示文摘The exponentially increasing heat generation in electronic devices,induced by high power density and miniaturization,has become a dominant issue that affects carbon footprint,cost,performance,reliability,and lifespan.Liquid metals(LMs)with high thermal conductivity are promising candidates for effective thermal management yet are facing pump-out and surface-spreading issues.Confinement in the form of metallic particles can address these problems,but apparent alloying processes elevate the LM melting point,leading to severely deteriorated stability.Here,we propose a facile and sustainable approach to address these challenges by using a biogenic supramolecular network as an effective diffusion barrier at copper particle-LM(EGaIn/Cu@TA)interfaces to achieve superior thermal conduction.The supramolecular network promotes LM stability by reducing unfavorable alloying and fluidity transition.The EGaIn/Cu@TA exhibits a record-high metallic-mediated thermal conductivity(66.1 W m^(-1) K^(-1))and fluidic stability.Moreover,mechanistic studies suggest the enhanced heat flow path after the incorporation of copper particles,generating heat dissipation suitable for computer central processing units,exceeding that of commercial silicone.Our results highlight the prospects of renewable macromolecules isolated from biomass for the rational design of nanointerfaces based on metallic particles and LM,paving a new and sustainable avenue for high-performance thermal management.Chaojun Zhang Yang Tang Tianyu Guo Yizhou Sang Ding Li Xiaoling Wang Orlando J.Rojas Junling Guo 2024InfoMat2024,6,1:0
16Association of variants in the KIF1A gene with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis显示文摘Background:Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a devastating progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects neurons in the central nervous system and the spinal cord.As in many other neurodegenerative disorders,the genetic risk factors and pathogenesis of ALS involve dysregulation of cytoskeleton and neuronal transport.Notably,sen-sory and motor neuron diseases such as hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type 2(HSAN2)and spastic paraplegia 30(SPG30)share several causative genes with ALS,as well as having common clinical phenotypes.KIF1A encodes a kinesin 3 motor that transports presynaptic vesicle precursors(SVPs)and dense core vesicles and has been reported as a causative gene for HSAN2 and SPG30.Methods:Here,we analyzed whole-exome sequencing data from 941 patients with ALS to investigate the genetic association of KIF1A with ALS.Results:We identified rare damage variants(RDVs)in the KIF1A gene associated with ALS and delineated the clini-cal characteristics of ALS patients with KIF1A RDVs.Clinically,these patients tended to exhibit sensory disturbance.Interestingly,the majority of these variants are located at the C-terminal cargo-binding region of the KIF1A protein.Functional examination revealed that the ALS-associated KIF1A variants located in the C-terminal region preferentially enhanced the binding of SVPs containing RAB3A,VAMP2,and synaptophysin.Expression of several disease-related KIF1A mutants in cultured mouse cortical neurons led to enhanced colocalization of RAB3A or VAMP2 with the KIF1A motor.Conclusions:Our study highlighted the importance of KIF1A motor-mediated transport in the pathogenesis of ALS,indicating KIF1A as an important player in the oligogenic scenario of ALS.Panlin Liao Yanchun Yuan Zhen Liu Xiaorong Hou Wanzhen Li Jin Wen Kexuan Zhang Bin Jiao Lu Shen Hong Jiang Jifeng Guo Beisha Tang Zhuohua Zhang Zhonghua Hu Junling Wang 2022Translational Neurodegeneration2022,11,1:0
