2Failure mechanism and coupled static-dynamic loading theory in deep hard rock mining: A review显示文摘Rock failure phenomena,such as rockburst,slabbing(or spalling) and zonal disintegration,related to deep underground excavation of hard rocks are frequently reported and pose a great threat to deep mining.Currently,the explanation for these failure phenomena using existing dynamic or static rock mechanics theory is not straightforward.In this study,new theory and testing method for deep underground rock mass under coupled static-dynamic loading are introduced.Two types of coupled loading modes,i.e.'critical static stress + slight disturbance' and 'elastic static stress + impact disturbance',are proposed,and associated test devices are developed.Rockburst phenomena of hard rocks under coupled static-dynamic loading are successfully reproduced in the laboratory,and the rockburst mechanism and related criteria are demonstrated.The results of true triaxial unloading compression tests on granite and red sandstone indicate that the unloading can induce slabbing when the confining pressure exceeds a certain threshold,and the slabbing failure strength is lower than the shear failure strength according to the conventional Mohr-Column criterion.Numerical results indicate that the rock unloading failure response under different in situ stresses and unloading rates can be characterized by an equivalent strain energy density.In addition,we present a new microseismic source location method without premeasuring the sound wave velocity in rock mass,which can efficiently and accurately locate the rock failure in hard rock mines.Also,a new idea for deep hard rock mining using a non-explosive continuous mining method is briefly introduced.Xibing Li Fengqiang Gong Ming Tao Longjun Dong Kun Du Chunde Ma Zilong Zhou Tubing Yin 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,4:68
32018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 4Appropriate treatment strategies improve survival of hepatocellular carcinoma patients with portal vein tumor thrombus显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the survival benefits of different treatment strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients with portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)and to determine the prognosis factors.METHODS:Between 2007 and 2009,338 HCC patients treated for PVTT were retrospectively studied.The patients were divided into 4 groups that underwent different treatments:the conservative treatment group(n=75),the transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)group(n=86),the hepatic resection group(n=90),and the hepatic resection associated with postoperative TACE group(n=87).Survival rates were determined using the Kaplan-Meier method and differences between the groups were identified through log-rankanalysis.Cox’s proportional hazard model was used to identify the risk factors for survival.RESULTS:The mean survival periods for patients in the conservative treatment,TACE,hepatic resection and hepatic resection associated with postoperative TACE groups were 3.8,7,8.2 and 15.1 mo,respectively.Significant differences were observed in the survival rates.For the surgical resection associated with postoperative TACE group,the survival rates after 1,2 and3 years were 49%,37%and 19%,respectively.These results were significantly higher than those of the other groups(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the 1,2 and 3 year survival rates for the surgical resection group were 28%,20%and 15%,whereas those for the TACE group were17.5%,0%and 0%,respectively.These values significantly increased after hepatic resection compared with those after TACE(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Surgical resection is the most effective therapeutic strategy for HCC patients with PVTT and results in high hepatic functional reserve.For patients who can tolerate the procedure,postoperative TACE is necessary to prevent recurrence and prolong the survival period.Jia-Zhou Ye Yong-Quan Zhang Hai-Hong Ye Tao Bai Liang Ma Bang-De Xiang Le-Qun Li 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,45:32
5Moxibustion regulates inflammatory mediators and colonic mucosal barrier in ulcerative colitis rats显示文摘AIM: To observe the efficacy and mechanism of grainsized moxibustion at different acupoints in a rat model of ulcerative colitis(UC). METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control, UC model, grain-sized moxibustion at a single acupoint(CV 12), grain-sized moxibustion at two acupoints(CV 12 and CV 4), grain-sized moxibustion at three acupoints(CV 12, CV 4, and ST 36), and medication groups(n = 8/group). The UC model was established by enema of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid. Direct moxibustion was used once a day for 7 d. Disease activity index(DAI) was evaluated before and after the treatment. Morphologic changes of intestinal tissue were observed under an optical microscope. The expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(p38MAPK) in colonic tissue was detected using Western blot, and the levels of occludin and zonula occludens-1(ZO-1) m RNAs were detected using reverse transcription PCR. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the intestinal mucosae were incomplete in the model group, glandular structures were irregular, and submucosae were edematous, hyperemic, and infiltrated with inflammatory cells. The DAI scores and expression ofTNF-α and p38 MAPK were increased significantly in the model group compared to controls(P s < 0.01), while the m RNA levels of occludin and ZO-1 were reduced significantly(P s < 0.01). Compared with the model group, colonic mucosa and the arrangement of glands were complete and regular in the treatment groups. DAI scores and the expression of TNF-α and p38 MAPK were reduced significantly in moxibustion groups compared to controls(P s < 0.01), while the m RNA levels of occludin and ZO-1 were increased significantly(P s < 0.01). The improvements in the above indices in the three acupoints group and the medication group were superior to those in the single and two acupoints groups(all P < 0.05). 6Temperature effect and thermal impact in lithium-ion batteries: A review显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries, with high energy density(up to 705 Wh/L) and power density(up to 10,000 W/L), exhibit high capacity and great working performance. As rechargeable batteries, lithium-ion batteries serve as power sources in various application systems. Temperature, as a critical factor, significantly impacts on the performance of lithium-ion batteries and also limits the application of lithium-ion batteries. Moreover, different temperature conditions result in different adverse effects. Accurate measurement of temperature inside lithiumion batteries and understanding the temperature effects are important for the proper battery management. 7Climatological distribution of lightning density observed by satellites in China and its circumjacent regions显示文摘The 0.5°× 0.5°grid resolution distribution of lightning density in China and its circumjacent regions have been analyzed by using the satellite-borne OTD (Apr 1995-Mar 2000) and LIS (Dec 1997-Mar 2003) databases. It is shown that: (ⅰ) Firstly, the variability of the lightning density (LD) is particularly pronounced over the different subareas, 9 times greater over the south than the north side of Himalayas Mountains, 2.5 times greater over the eastern than the western area of China. While the maximum and minimum LD are respectively 31.4fl/km2/a (in Guangzhou region) and less than 0.2fl/km2/a (in the desert of western China). Secondly, the LD of China's continent regularly varies with latitude and distance off coast, which is consistent with annual mean precipitation in varying trend. In conclusion, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the China's three-step staircase topography and the latitude are three important factors affecting macro-scale characteristics of the LD distribution. (ⅱ) The regional differences in LD distribution are closely related to the mesoscale orographic forcing. In the eastern humid regions of China, the high LD belts often appear along the mesoscale mountains (with south-north or northeast-southwest direction, 500-1500 m ASL) and hills, while the low LD belts often appear on the plain and basin (valley) between the mountains. But in the western cold and arid regions of China, the relatively high LD belts mostly appear on the Qinghai Lake area of the southern side of Qilian Mountain, Yili River valley, the basin between Tanggula Mountains and Nyainqetanglha. On the coastal land, the high LD centers appear in regions where mountain and hill and large cities are located. This seems to be related to the interaction between the sea-land breeze and mountain-valley wind or city heat island effect. (ⅲ) The China Sea is one of the relatively high LD zones on global oceans. It is very interesting that a high LD belt is located along the Kuroshio area. It is a new fact that the high temperature and high salinity characteristics of Kuroshio have obvious effect on the local deep convective activity. 8Air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the Yangtze River Delta region during 2014–2016显示文摘With rapid economic growth and urbanization, the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) region in China has experienced serious air pollution challenges. In this study, we analyzed the air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the YRD region during 2014–2016. In recent years, the concentrations of all air pollutants, except O3,decreased. Spatially, the PM2.5, PM10, SO2, and CO concentrations were higher in the northern YRD region, and NO2 and O3 were higher in the central YRD region. Based on the number of non-attainment days(i.e., days with air quality index greater than 100), PM2.5 was the largest contributor to air pollution in the YRD region, followed by O3, PM10, and NO2.However, particulate matter pollution has declined gradually, while O3 pollution worsened.Meteorological conditions mainly influenced day-to-day variations in pollutant concentrations. PM2.5 concentration was inversely related to wind speed, while O3 concentration was positively correlated with temperature and negatively correlated with relative humidity.The air quality improvement in recent years was mainly attributed to emission reductions.During 2014–2016, PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NOx, CO, NH3, and volatile organic compound(VOC)emissions in the YRD region were reduced by 26.3%, 29.2%, 32.4%, 8.1%, 15.9%, 4.5%, and0.3%, respectively. Regional transport also contributed to the air pollution. During regional haze periods, pollutants from North China and East China aggravated the pollution in the YRD region. 9Micro-Doppler characteristics of sliding-type scattering center on rotationally symmetric target显示文摘The feature of micro-motion is one of the most effective features used for radar recognition in midcourse phase.At present,the study of feature extraction and recognition is usually based on the assumption that the micro-motion of the scattering center and warhead itself is the same,and the radar echo is sinusoid-FM signal.However,this assumption ignores the fact that the scattering center would slide on the warhead with the change of the aspect angle.In this paper,a complete micro-motion model is set for the scattering centers of different positions on the warhead,and the mathematical expression of the micro-Doppler of the sliding-type scattering center is obtained for the first time.The approximation of Taylor expansion under the background of missile confrontation is studied subsequently.The curve of this micro-Doppler is not the generally assumed sinusoid.Dynamic measurement of a precessional target in microwave anechoic chamber is done to vividly observe the sliding feature of the scattering center.The measurement results agree with the theoretic analysis in this paper.This research on micro-Doppler characteristics of sliding-type scattering center provides a more accurate model for the micro-motion simulation and feature extraction of precessional warheads.MA Liang LIU Jin WANG Tao LI YongZhen WANG XueSong 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,9:24

11Using Interrupted Time Series Design to Analyze Changes in Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease Incidence during the Declining Incidence Periods of 2008-2010 in China显示文摘Objective To identify patterns of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) incidence in China during declining incidence periods of 2008, 2009, and 2010. Methods Reported HFMD cases over a period of 25 months were extracted from the National Disease Reporting System (NDRS) and analyzed. An interrupted time series (ITS) technique was used to detect changes in HFMD incidence rates in terms of level and slope between declining incidence periods of the three years. Results Over 3.58 million HFMD cases younger than 5 years were reported to the NDRS between May 1, 2008, and May 31, 2011. Males comprised 63.4% of the cases. ITS analyses demonstrated a significant increase in incidence rate level (P<0.0001) when comparing the current period with the previous period. There were significant changes in declining slopes when comparing 2010 to 2009, and 2010 to 2008 (all P<0.005), but not 2009 to 2008. Conclusion Incremental changes in incidence rate level during the declining incidence periods of 2009 and 2010 can potentially be attributed to a few factors. The more steeply declining slope in 2010 compared with previous years could be ascribed to the implementation of more effective interventions and preventive strategies in 2010. 12Effects of dietary yeast β-glucan on nutrient digestibility and serum profiles in pre-ruminant Holstein calves显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation of yeast β-glucan on the nutrient digestibility and serum profiles in pre-ruminant Holstein calves. Forty-two neonatal Holstein calves((39.6±4.2) kg) were randomly allotted to six groups, and each was offered one of the following diets: a basal diet(control) or the basal diet supplemented with 25, 50, 75, 100 or 200 mg of yeast β-glucan kg–1 feed(dry matter basis). The basal diet consisted of a milk replacer and a starter feed. The trial lasted for 56 d. Two digestibility trials were conducted from d 14 to 20 and from d 42 to 48. Blood samples were collected on d 0, 14, 28 and 42 for serum profile analyses. On d 56, three calves from each group were slaughtered, and intestinal samples were collected to assess the villous height, crypt depth and mucosal thickness. Although feed intake was not affected by dietary treatment(P>0.05), the average daily gain(ADG) and gain-to-feed ratios were higher(P<0.05) for the calves fed 75 mg of yeast β-glucan kg–1 feed than those in the other groups. The supplementation of yeast β-glucan at 75 mg kg–1 feed increased the apparent digestibility of dry matter(DM), crude protein(CP), ether extract(EE), and phosphorus(P)(P<0.05) and the ratio of intestinal villous height to crypt depth(V/C)(P<0.05) when compared with the control group. No effects of yeast β-glucan on the serum concentrations of total protein(TP), albumin(ALB), serum urea nitrogen(SUN) and glucose(GLU) were observed(P>0.05). Compared with the control group, supplementation of yeast β-glucan decreased(P<0.05) the serum concentrations of triglycerides(TG) and total cholesterol(TC). The serum concentration of immunoglobulin G(Ig G) and immunoglobulin M(Ig M) increased quadratically(P<0.05), whereas the serum concentration of immunoglobulin A(Ig A) was unaffected by dietary treatments(P>0.05). The supplementation of yeast β-glucan stimulated the enzymatic activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)(P<0.05) compared with the control group. The lysozyme(LYZ) concentration increased quadratically(P<0.05) with increasing yeast β-glucan levels. 14Baicalin induces ferroptosis in bladder cancer cells by downregulating FTH1显示文摘Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic regulated cell death caused by iron accumulation and subsequent lipid peroxidation.Currently,the therapeutic role of ferroptosis on cancer is gaining increasing interest.Baicalin an active component in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi with anticancer potential various cancer types;however,the effects of baicalein on bladder cancer and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.In the study,we investigated the effect of baicalin on bladder cancer cells5637 and KU-19-19.As a result,we show baicalin exerted its anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis and cell death in bladder cancer cells.Subsequently,we for the first time demonstrate baicalin-induced ferroptotic cell death in vitro and in vivo,accompanied by reactive oxygen species(ROS) accumulation and intracellular chelate iron enrichment.The ferroptosis inhibitor deferoxamine but not necrostatin-1,chloroquine(CQ),N-acetyl-L-cysteine,L-glutathione reduced,or carbobenzoxy-valyl-alanyl-aspartyl-[O-methyl]-fluoromethylketone(Z-VAD-FMK) rescued baicalin-induced cell death,indicating ferroptosis contributed to baicalin-induced cell death.Mechanistically,we show that ferritin heavy chain1(FTH1) was a key determinant for baicalin-induced ferroptosis.Overexpression of FTH1 abrogated the anticancer effects of baicalin in both 5637 and KU19-19 cells.Taken together,our data for the first time suggest that the natural product baicalin exerts its anticancer activity by inducing FTH1-dependent ferroptosis,which will hopefully provide a prospective compound for bladder cancer treatment.Na Kong Xiaying Chen Jiao Feng Ting Duan Shuiping Liu Xueni Sun Peng Chen Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Yu Xiang Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Weirui Ma Wencheng Liu Mingming Zhang Zuyi Yang Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Tian Xie Xinbing Sui Wei Tao 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:23
15Effects of aeration method and aeration rate on greenhouse gas emissions during composting of pig feces in pilot scale显示文摘The aim of this study was to uncover ways to mitigate greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions and reduce energy consumption during the composting process. We assessed the effects of different aeration rates(0, 0.18, 0.36, and 0.54 L/(kg dry matter(dm)·min)) and methods(continuous and intermittent) on GHG emissions. Pig feces and corn stalks were mixed at a ratio of 7:1. The composting process lasted for 10 weeks, and the compost was turned approximately every 2 weeks. Results showed that both aeration rate and method significantly affected GHG emissions. Higher aeration rates increased NH3 and N2O losses,but reduced CH4 emissions. The exception is that the CH4 emission of the passive aeration treatment was lower than that of the low aeration rate treatment. Without forced aeration,the CH4 diffusion rates in the center of the piles were very low and part of the CH4 was oxidized in the surface layer. Intermittent aeration reduced NH3 and CH4 losses, but significantly increased N2 O production during the maturing periods. Intermittent aeration increased the nitrification/denitrification alternation and thus enhanced the N2 O production. Forced aeration treatments had higher GHG emission rates than the passive aeration treatment. Forced aeration accelerated the maturing process, but could not improve the quality of the end product. 16The role of regulatory T cells in immune dysfunction during sepsis显示文摘BACKGROUND: Although regulatory T cells(Tregs) are key to the maintenance of immunologic homeostasis and tolerance, little is known about Treg-mediated immunosuppression in the stage of sepsis. This article aimed to review the current literature on the role of Tregs in the pathophysiology of septic response, attempting to investigate the role of Tregs in immune dysfunction during sepsis.DATA SOURCES: A literature search was conducted in January 2014 using the China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Pub Med. Articles on the role of Tregs in immune dysfunction during sepsis were identified.RESULTS: The identified articles indicated that Treg levels can be used for the assessment of the course of sepsis. 19Puerarin prevents bone loss in ovariectomized mice and inhibits osteoclast formation in vitro显示文摘The present study aimed at investigating the effects of Puerarin(PR), a major isoflavonoid isolated from the Chinese medicinal herb Puerariae radix, on bone metabolism and the underlying mechanism of action. The in vivo assay, female mice were ovariectomized(OVX), and the OVX mice were fed with a diet containing low, middle, and high doses of PR(2, 4, and 8 mg·d^(-1), respectively) or 17β-estradiol(E_2, 0.03 μg·d^(-1)) for 4 weeks. In OVX mice, the uterine weight declined, and intake of PR at any dose did not affect uterine weight, compared with the control. The total femoral bone mineral density(BMD) was significantly reduced by OVX, which was reversed by intake of the diet with PR at any dose, especially at the low dose. In the in vitro assay, RAW264.7 cells were used for studying the direct effect of PR on the formation of osteoclasts. PR reduced the formation of tartrate resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)-positive multi-nucleated cells in the RAW 264.7 cells induced by receptor activator for nuclear factor-κB Ligand(RANKL). MC3T3-E1 cells were used for studying the effects of PR on the expression of osteoprotegerin(OPG) and RANKL m RNA expression in osteoblasts. The expression of OPG m RNA and RANKL m RNA was detected by RT-PCR on Days of 5, 7, 10, and 12 after PR exposure. PR time-dependently enhanced the expression of OPG m RNA and reduced the expression of RANKL m RNA in MC3T3-E1 cells.
