Stability analysis on tunnels with karst caves using the distinct lattice spring model显示文摘The effects of karst caves on tunnel stability were numerically investigated using the distinct lattice spring model(DLSM).The DLSM was validated by investigating the mechanical behavior of Brazilian discs with various sizes of central circular holes. Then, the effects of karst cave on U-shaped tunnel were investigated under various karst caves positions(top, bottom, and right side of the tunnel),tunnelcave distances(0.5-4 times the radius of the tunnel arc),and cave shapes(circular, rectangular flat, and rectangular vertical caves). The failure processes of the tunnel under those various conditions were analyzed and both the failure process and the final failure patterns of the tunnel were discussed.Numerical simulation demonstrated that karst caves around the tunnel could weaken the stability of the tunnel, indicating tunnel-cave distance effects. The closer the cave to the tunnel, the weaker the tunnel under loading. This effect was not significant when the tunnel-cave distance(d)was larger than three times the tunnel arc radius(R).In addition, the final failure pattern of the tunnel and its surrounding rock mass were dependent on both the position and the size of the cave. The larger the cave, the weaker the tunnel and its surrounding rock mass.Furthermore, compared with those cases with top and bottom caves, the tunnel with a right side cave had more impacts on tunnel stability. The main research finding could help engineers carry out stability analysis on tunnels in karst areas and take effective measures to enhance tunnel stability.Jianjun Ma Junwei Guan Junfeng Duan Linchong Huang Yu Liang 2021Underground Space2021,6,4:1
Changes in platelet parameters and secondary brain injury in acute craniocerebral trauma显示文摘Changes in platelet parameters are important in secondary brain injury in acute craniocerebral trauma. We selected 163 patients with craniocerebral trauma who were admitted within 24 hours with nonoperative therapy.Platelet parameters of 40 healthy subjects served as controls.Platelet number was decreased, while mean platelet volume and platelet distribution width values were increased,at 1 and 3 days after injury.Platelet number was lower and mean platelet volume and platelet distribution width were larger in patients with traumatic cerebral infarction and those in Glasgow Coma Scale score < 8 group.Platelet number was negatively correlated to volume of cerebral edema, but positively correlated to Glasgow Outcome Scale score. These data indicate that changes in platelet parameters may be utilized to indicate the state of central nervous system injury and patient prognosis.Xiaoping Tang Chao You Hua Peng Tao Zhang Wenguo Tang Jian Qi Renguo Luo Yuanchuan Wang Ling Feng Zhangyang Gou Junwei Duan Shun Li 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,20:0
Request pattern change-based cache pollution attack detection and defense in edge computing显示文摘Through caching popular contents at the network edge, wireless edge caching can greatly reduce both the content request latency at mobile devices and the traffic burden at the core network.However,popularity-based caching strategies are vulnerable to Cache Pollution Attacks(CPAs)due to the weak security protection at both edge nodes and mobile devices. In CPAs,through initiating a large number of requests for unpopular contents, malicious users can pollute the edge caching space and degrade the caching efficiency. This paper firstly integrates the dynamic nature of content request and mobile devices into the edge caching framework, and introduces an eavesdroppingbased CPA strategy. Then,an edge caching mechanism, which contains a Request Pattern Change-based Cache Pollution Detection(RPC2PD)algorithm and an Attack-aware Cache Defense(ACD)algorithm,is proposed to defend against CPAs.Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism could effectively suppress the effects of CPAs on the caching performance and improve the cache hit ratio.Junwei Wang Xianglin Wei Jianhua Fan Qiang Duan Jianwei Liu Yangang Wang 2023Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,5:0
Global cold-chain related SARS-CoV-2 transmission identified by pandemic-scale phylogenomics显示文摘DEAR EDITOR,The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 continues to pose a tremendous threat to human society. SARS-CoV-2is airborne and transmits primarily through social contact;however, whether cold chain-related transmission has occurred remains highly debated(Han & Liu, 2022;Lewis,2021;Ma et al., 2021;Mallapaty et al., 2021;Pang et al.,2020;Wu et al., 2021). Here, we present a novel method and identify two transmission routes based on lineage-specific reductions in the SARS-CoV-2 evolutionary rate.Dalang Yu Junwei Zhu Jianing Yang Yi-Hsuan Pan Hailong Mu Ruifang Cao Bixia Tang Guangya Duan Zi-Qian Hao Long Dai Guo-Ping Zhao Ya-Ping Zhang Wenming Zhao Guoqing Zhang Haipeng Li 2022Zoological Research2022,43,5:0

Floating forest:A novel breakwater-windbreak structure against wind and wave hazards显示文摘A novel floating breakwater-windbreak structure(floating forest)has been designed for the protection of vulnerable coastal areas from extreme wind and wave loadings during storm conditions. The modular arch-shaped concrete structure is positioned perpendicularly to the direction of the prevailing wave and wind. The structure below the water surface acts as a porous breakwater with wave scattering capability. An array of tubular columns on the sloping deck of the breakwater act as an artificial forest-type windbreak.A feasibility study involving hydrodynamic and aerodynamic analyses has been performed, focusing on its capability in reducing wave heights and wind speeds in the lee side. The study shows that the proposed 1 km long floating forest is able to shelter a lee area that stretches up to 600 m,with 40%–60%wave energy reduction and 10%–80%peak wind speed reduction.Chien Ming WANG Mengmeng HAN Junwei LYU Wenhui DUAN Kwanghoe JUNG 2021Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,5:0
Measurement of fast neutrons with ^(238)U-coated fission chamber显示文摘Purpose Afission chamber with two layers of 238Ufissile materials has been developed for the measurements of fast neutrons. Methods The developed fission chamber has been tested by 60Co gamma source and 252Cf neutron source. Results The results have indicated that it is very easy to cut off the gamma rays from the neutrons by using a discriminator, when the fission chamber works in the pulse mode. The detector works well, even if the static air is used as the filling gas. Conclusion To discuss the application of the detector,Monte Carlo simulations have been performed by considering four 238U-coated fission chambers located outside the spallation target for the fast neutron measurement from spallation reaction. The simulation results have indicated that the detector can be used to measure the fast neutron flux and neutron flux ratio of four fission chambers.Furthermore,a 238U-coated fission chamber can be used within a reactor for longer time,in comparison with a 235U-coated fission chamber.Yuanfan Guan Herun Yang Limin Duan Junwei Zhang Xiaohua Yuan Zhiyong He Xueying Zhang Rongjian Hu Chengui Lu Peng Ma Xianglun Wei Meng Li Zaiguo Gan Chunli Yang Hongbin Zhang Liang Chen 2019Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2019,3,3:0
