1毛棉苗期抗旱性状的QTL定位显示文摘【目的】通过分析毛棉苗期抗旱相关性状的数量性状位点(Quantitative trait locus,QTL),以期检测稳定的主效QTL,促进栽培品种抗旱性状遗传改良及提高抗旱育种效率。【方法】以四倍体野生种毛棉(Gossypium tomentosum)和陆地棉品种中棉所12(CCRI 12)的种间杂种F2及其F2:3家系为研究材料,用于基因型分型的F2有188个系,用于表型分型的F2:3家系有149个株系。分别在干旱胁迫和正常灌水2个环境下调查表型数据。采用复合区间作图法对F2:3家系苗期相关性状抗旱系数进行QTL定位。【结果】对苗期相关性状抗旱系数的QTL定位分析,共得到16个QTL,其中与株高、叶片数、叶绿素含量、脯氨酸含量、丙二醛含量抗旱系数相关的QTL分别有5个、1个、3个、3个、4个,分布在13条染色体上。来自毛棉的5个加性QTL分别为qSHDC-19-1、qSHDC-19-2、qSLNDC-5-1、qMDADC-24-1、qMDADC-24-2,其加性效应值为0.10~0.22,解释变异9.4%~25.8%。【结论】这些与抗旱相关的QTL有助于棉花抗旱分子标记辅助选择。郑巨云 George Oluoch Khan Muhammad Kashif Riaz 周忠丽 王星星 蔡小彦 李雪源 王春英 王玉红 刘方 王坤波 2017棉花学报2017,29,1:6
2Optical spin-symmetry breaking for high-efficiency directional helicity-multiplexed metaholograms显示文摘Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. 3Giant chiro-optical responses in multipolar-resonances-based single-layer dielectric metasurfaces显示文摘Chiro-optical effects offer a wide range of potential applications in nanophotonics,such as advanced imaging and molecular sensing and separation.Flat single-layer metasurfaces composed of subwavelength meta-atoms have gained significant attention due to their exceptional characteristics in light–matter interactions.Although metasurface-based devices have manipulated electromagnetic waves,the compact on-chip realization of giant chiro-optical effects remains a challenge at optical frequencies.In this work,we experimentally and numerically demonstrate an all-dielectric metasurface to realize large chiro-optical effects in the visible regime.Notably,the proposed strategy of utilizing achiral nanofins instead of conventional chiral structures provides an extra degree of design freedom.The mutual coupling between carefully engineered nanofins produces constructive and destructive interference,leading to the asymmetric transmission of 70%and average circular dichroism exceeding 60%.We investigate the underlying mechanism behind the chiro-optical effects using the theory of multipolar decomposition.The proposed design mechanism maximizes the chiro-optical response through a single-layer metasurface with potential applications in high-efficiency integrated ultrathin polarization rotators and shapers,chiral polarizers for optical displays,chiral beam splitters,and chiral sensors.HAFIZ SAAD KHALIQ INKI KIM AIMA ZAHID JOOHOON KIM TAEJUN LEE TREVON BADLOE YESEUL KIM MUHAMMAD ZUBAIR KASHIF RIAZ MUHAMMAD QASIM MEHMOOD JUNSUK RHO 2021Photonics Research2021,9,9:1
4Association Mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci for Grain Size in Introgression Line Derived from Oryza rufipogon显示文摘Grain size is one of the critical agronomic traits governing grain yield and quality in rice.However,the underlying genetic mechanisms that control grain size in rice are poorly understood.We used an introgression line derived from Zhonghui 8015 and Oryza rufipogon Griff.This introgression line was evaluated under two different environmental conditions to dissect the quantitative trait loci controlling grain size.Genome-wide association study(GWAS)was performed using 28193 SNPs through a general linear model,and 56 significant SNPs on different loci associated with the 4 grain size traits were detected.Cloned genes including GS3 and q GL3 showed substantial effects on grain length and size.Seven new stable loci were identified with pleiotropic effects on grain size.Haplotype,gene expression analyses,combined gene-based associations,and functional annotations permitted the shortlisting of important dominant genes including GS3 and q GL3.Kashif HUSSAIN ZHANG Yingxing Workie ANLEY Aamir RIAZ Adil ABBAS MdHasanuzzaman RANI WANG Hong SHEN Xihong CAO Liyong CHENG Shihua 2020Rice science2020,27,3:0
5SwCS: Section-Wise Content Similarity Approach to Exploit Scientific Big Data显示文摘The growing collection of scientific data in various web repositories is referred to as Scientific Big Data,as it fulfills the four“V’s”of Big Data—volume,variety,velocity,and veracity.This phenomenon has created new opportunities for startups;for instance,the extraction of pertinent research papers from enormous knowledge repositories using certain innovative methods has become an important task for researchers and entrepreneurs.Traditionally,the content of the papers are compared to list the relevant papers from a repository.The conventional method results in a long list of papers that is often impossible to interpret productively.Therefore,the need for a novel approach that intelligently utilizes the available data is imminent.Moreover,the primary element of the scientific knowledge base is a research article,which consists of various logical sections such as the Abstract,Introduction,Related Work,Methodology,Results,and Conclusion.Thus,this study utilizes these logical sections of research articles,because they hold significant potential in finding relevant papers.In this study,comprehensive experiments were performed to determine the role of the logical sections-based terms indexing method in improving the quality of results(i.e.,retrieving relevant papers).Therefore,we proposed,implemented,and evaluated the logical sections-based content comparisons method to address the research objective with a standard method of indexing terms.The section-based approach outperformed the standard content-based approach in identifying relevant documents from all classified topics of computer science.Overall,the proposed approach extracted 14%more relevant results from the entire dataset.As the experimental results suggested that employing a finer content similarity technique improved the quality of results,the proposed approach has led the foundation of knowledge-based startups.Kashif Irshad Muhammad Tanvir Afzal Sanam Shahla Rizvi Abdul Shahid Rabia Riaz Tae-Sun Chung 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,4:0

7Molecular detection of Leishmania species in human and animals from cutaneous leishmaniasis endemic areas of Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan显示文摘Objectives: To detect Leishmania species in human patients, animal reservoirs and Phlebotomus sandflies in Waziristan, Pakistan. Methods: Tissue smears and aspirates from 448 cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL) suspected patients were analyzed. To sort out role of the reservoir hosts, skin scrapings, spleen and liver samples from 104 rodents were collected. Furthermore, buffy coat samples were obtained from 60 domestic animals. Sandflies were also trapped. All human, animals and sandfly samples were tested by microscopy, kinetoplastic PCR and internal transcribed spacer 1(ITS1) PCR followed by restriction fragment length polymorphism for detection of Leishmania species. Results: An overall prevalence of 3.83% and 5.21% through microscopy and ITS1 PCR respectively was found. However, the statistically non-significant correlation was found between area, gender, and number of lesions. The presence of rodents, sandflies, domestic animals and internally displaced people increased the risk of CL. Using ITS1-PCR-RFLP, Leishmania tropica(L. tropica) was confirmed in 106 samples while 25 of the isolates were diagnosed as Leishmania major(L. major). Similarly, 3/104 rodents were positive for L. major and 14 pools of DNA samples containing Phlebotomus sergenti sandflies were positive for L. tropica. None of samples from domestic animals were positive for leishmaniasis. Conclusions: In the present study, L. tropica and L. major are found to be the main causative agents of CL in study area. Movement of internally displaced people from CL endemic areas presents a risk for nearby CL free areas.
