1History,progress and future challenges of artificial blood vessels:a narrative review显示文摘Cardiovascular disease serves as the leading cause of death worldwide,with stenosis,occlusion,or severe dysfunction of blood vessels being its pathophysiological mechanism.Vascular replacement is the preferred surgical option for treating obstructed vascular structures.Due to the limited availability of healthy autologous vessels as well as the incidence of postoperative complications,there is an increasing demand for artificial blood vessels.From synthetic to natural,or a mixture of these components,numerous materials have been used to prepare artificial vascular grafts.Although synthetic grafts are more appropriate for use in medium to large-diameter vessels,they fail when replacing small-diameter vessels.Tissue-engineered vascular grafts are very likely to be an ideal alternative to autologous grafts in small-diameter vessels and are worthy of further investigation.However,a multitude of problems remain that must be resolved before they can be used in biomedical applications.Accordingly,this review attempts to describe these problems and provide a discussion of the generation of artificial blood vessels.In addition,we deliberate on current state-of-the-art technologies for creating artificial blood vessels,including advances in materials,fabrication techniques,various methods of surface modification,as well as preclinical and clinical applications.Furthermore,the evaluation of grafts both in vivo and in vitro,mechanical properties,challenges,and directions for further research are also discussed.Ke Hu Yuxuan Li Zunxiang Ke Hongjun Yang Chanjun Lu Yiqing Li Yi Guo Weici Wang 2022Biomaterials Translational2022,3,1:3

5Analysis on the relationship between winter precipitation and the annual variation of horse stomach fly community in arid desert steppe, Northwest China (2007–2019)显示文摘Gasterophilus spp.have been found to be widespread in reintroduced Przewalski’s horses in the Kalamaili Nature Reserve(Northwest China).However,data on the annual variation in Gasterophilus infections are lacking.To analyze the epidemiological features and determine the cause of the annual variation in Gasterophilus infections,we treated 110 Przewalski’s horses with ivermectin and collected Gasterophilus larvae from fecal samples each winter from 2007 to 2019.All 110 Przewalski’s horses studied were found to be infected by Gasterophilus spp.,and a total of 141379 larvae were collected.Six species of Gasterophilus were identified with the following prevalence:G.pecorum(100%),G.nasalis(96.36%),G.nigricornis(94.55%),G.haemorrhoidalis(56.36%),G.intestinalis(59.09%),and G.inermis(3.64%).The mean infection intensity of Gasterophilus spp.larvae in Przewalski’s horses was 1285±653.G.pecorum(92.96%±6.71%)was the most abundant species.The intensity of Gasterophilus spp.(r=–0.561,P<0.046)was significantly correlated with winter precipitation.Our findings confirmed that,in the Kalamaili Nature Reserve,gasterophilosis is a severe parasitic disease in Przewalski’s horses.Winter precipitation at the beginning of the year can indirectly affect the intensity and composition of Gasterophilus spp.in Przewalski’s horses at the end of the year.Therefore,the water-related ecological regulation should be carried out to help reduce the parasite infection of Przewalski’s horses.Heqing HUANG Ke ZHANG Boru ZHANG Shanhui LIU Hongjun CHU Yingjie QI Dong ZHANG Kai LI 2022Integrative Zoology2022,17,1:1

7Highly Soluble Phenylethynyl-terminated Imide Oligomers and Thermosetting Polyimides Based on 2,2′3,3′-Biphenyltetracarboxylic Dianhydride显示文摘The properties of a series of imide oligomers were characterized according to their molecular weights, solubility, and thermal and rheological properties. This series of imide oligomers was synthesized via a two-step method using 2,2′,3,3′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride(3,3′-BPDA) and aromatic diamines as the monomers, and 4-phenylethynyl phtlialic anhydride(PEPA) as the end-capping agent. The imide oligomers based on 3,3′-BPDA showed excellent solubility in low boiling point solvents and low melt viscosity, which were attributed to their unique bent architectures. High-performance thermosetting polyimides were produced from these oligomers via thermal crosslinking of the phenylethynyl groups. The mechanical and thermal properties of the thermosets were studied using tensile testing, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis(DMTA), and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The 3,3′EPDA-based thermosets exhibited excellent thermal properties, with glass transition temperatures of up to 455℃, and 5% mass loss temperatures of up to 569℃ in air. 8Reversible potassium storage in ultrafine CF_(x): A superior cathode material for potassium batteries and its mechanism显示文摘Current studies of cathodes for potassium batteries(PBs) mainly focus on the intercalation-type materials.The conversion-type materials that possess much higher theoretical capacities are rarely discussed in previous literatures.In this work,carbon fluoride(CF_x) is reported as a high capacity conversion-type cathode for PBs for the first time.The material delivers a remarkable discharge capacity of>250 mAh g^(-1) with mid-voltage of 2.6 V at 20 mA g^(-1).Moreover,a highly reversible capacity of around 95 mAh g^(-1) is achieved at 125 mA g^(-1) and maintained for 900 cycles,demonstrating its excellent cycling stability.The mechanism of this highly reversible conversion reaction is further investigated by nuclear magnetic resonance spectra,X-ray diffraction,and transmission electron microscopy studies.According to the analyses,the C-F bond in the cycled material is different from that in the pristine state,which presents relatively higher reversibility.This finding offers important insights for further improving the performance of the CF_x.This work not only demonstrates the CF_x as a high performance cathode for PBs,but also paves a new avenue of exploring conversion-type cathodes for high energy density PBs.Hongjun Yue Huixin Chen Chen Zhao Zhiming Zheng Ke Zhou Qjaobao Zhang Guiming Zhong Can-Zhong Lu Yong Yang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:0
9A forced ignition probability analysis method using kernel formation analysis with turbulent transport and Lagrangian flame particle tracking显示文摘A forced ignition probability analysis method is developed for turbulent combustion,in which kernel formation is analyzed with local kernel formation criteria,and flame propagation and stabilization are simulated with Lagrangian flame particle tracking.For kernel formation,the effect of turbulent scalar transport on flammability is modelled through the incorporation of turbulenceinduced diffusion in a spherically outwardly propagating flame kernel model.The dependence of flammability limits on turbulent intensities is tabulated and serves as the flammability criterion for kernel formation.For Lagrangian flame particle tracking,flame particles are tracked in a structured grid with flow fields being interpolated from a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)solution.The particle velocity follows a Langevin model consisting of a linear drift and an isotropic diffusion term.The Karlovitz number is employed for the extinction criterion,which compares chemical and turbulent timescales.The integration of the above two-step analysis approach with non-reacting CFD is achieved through a general interpolation interface suitable for general unstructured CFD grids.The method is demonstrated for a methane/air bluff-body flame,in which flow and fuel/air mixing characteristics are extracted from a non-reacting simulation.Results show that the computed ignition probability map agrees qualitatively with experimental results.A reduction of the ignition probability in the recirculation zone and a high ignition probability on the shear layer of the recirculation zone near the mean stoichiometric surface are well captured.The tools can facilitate optimization of spark placement and offer insights into ignition processes.Qing XIE Zhuyin REN Ke WANG Hongjun LIN Shoutang SHANG Wei XIAO 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4:0
