1Clinicopathological and prognostic analysis of 429 patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘AIM:To understand the clinicopathological characteristics and treatment selections and improve survival and provide valuable information for patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC). METHODS:We retrospectively evaluated 5311 liver cancer patients who received resection between October 1999 and December 2003.Of these,429(8.1%)patients were diagnosed with ICC,and their clinicopathological, surgical,and survival characteristics were analyzed. RESULTS:Upper abdominal discomfort or pain(65.0%), no symptoms(12.1%),and hypodynamia(8.2%)were the major causes for medical attention.Laboratory tests showed 198(46.4%)patients were HBsAg positive, 90(21.3%)hadα-fetoprotein>20μg/L,50(11.9%) carcinoembryonic antigen>10μg/L,and 242(57.5%) carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)>37 U/mL.Survival data was available for 329(76.7%)patients and their mean survival time was 12.4 mo.The overall survival of the patients with R0,R1 resection and punching exploration were 18.3,6.6 and 5.6 mo,respectively. Additionally,CA19-9>37 U/mL was associated with lymph node metastases,but inversely associated withcirrhosis.Multivariate analysis indicated that radical resection,lymph node metastases,macroscopic tumor thrombi and size,and CA19-9 were associated with prognosis. 2Effect of tip geometry and tip clearance on aerodynamic performance of a linear compressor cascade显示文摘The tip leakage flow between a blade and a casing wall has a strong impact on compressor pressure rise capability, efficiency, and stability. Consequently, there is a strong motivation to look for means to minimize its impact on performance. This paper presents the potential of passive tip leakage flow control to increase the aerodynamic performance of highly loaded compressor blades. Experimental investigations on a linear compressor cascade equipped with blade winglets mounted to the blade tips have been carried out. Results for a variation of the tip clearance and the winglet geometry are presented. Current results indicate that the use of proper tip winglets in a compressor cascade can positively affect the local aerodynamic field by weakening the tip leakage vortex. Results also show that the suction-side winglets are aerodynamically superior to the pressure-side or combined winglets. 33D C_f/SiBCN composites prepared by an improved polymer infiltration and pyrolysis显示文摘Using liquid poly(methylvinyl)borosilazanes(PMVBSZ)as precursor,carbon fiber reinforced SiBCN matrix composites(C_f/SiBCN)were fabricated by a modified polymer infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP)process.With dicumyl peroxide added as cross-linking agent,the PMVBSZ could be solidified at a low temperature of 120℃,leading to a high ceramic yield of~70%.The cross-linking mechanism and ceramization processes of the precursor were investigated in detail.Moreover,a modified infiltration technology was developed,which improved the efficiency and protected the precursor against moist air during PIP.Consequently,the obtained C_f/SiBCN composites had an oxygen content of around 1.22 wt%.Benefiting from the high ceramic yield and high efficiency of the modified PIP,C_f/SiBCN composites with an open porosity of~10%and uniform microstructure were obtained after only 7 cycles of PIP.The flexural strength and fracture toughness of the derived C_f/SiBCN composites were 371 MPa and 12.9 MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This work provides a potential route for the fabrication of high performance C_f/SiBCN composites.Qi DING Dewei NI Zhen WANG Hao ZHONG Hongda WANG Haijun ZHOU Yanmei KAN Shaoming DONG 2018Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018,7,3:9
4Dietary encapsulated essential oils and organic acids mixture improves gut health in broiler chickens challenged with necrotic enteritis显示文摘Background:The poultry industry is in need of effective antibiotic alternatives to control outbreaks of necrotic enteritis(NE)due to Clostridium perfringens.In the present study,we investigated the effects of dietary supplementation with a blend of encapsulated essential oils and organic acids(BLJ)on growth performance and gut health using a coinfection model of NE in broiler chickens.Methods:Two hundred and eighty-eight one-day-old male Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly assigned using a 2×2 factorial design into two groups fed either 0 or 500 mg/kg dietary BLJ and co-challenged(or not challenged for the control)with Eimeria spp./C.perfringens.Results:Infected birds fed the BLJ-supplemented diet exhibited an improved feed conversion ratio throughout the trial(P<0.01),a higher villus height and villus height/crypt depth ratio,and reduced intestinal C.perfringens counts,liver C.perfringens carriage,gut lesion scores and serum fluorescein isothiocyanate dextran(FITC-D)concentrations at 7 d postinfection compared with those of birds without BLJ supplementation(P<0.05).NE-infected birds fed BLJ exhibited significantly upregulated claudin-1 and IGF-2 mRNA levels(P<0.05),increased A20 mRNA expression and significantly downregulated TRAF-6,TNFSF15 and TOLLIP mRNA levels in the jejunum at 7 d post-infection compared with those in birds without BLJ supplementation(P<0.05).Compared with the uninfected and untreated birds,the uninfected birds fed BLJ displayed increased relative abundances of Lactobacillus and Coprococcus but reduced Rikenellaceae levels.Compared with the unsupplemented NE-challenged birds,infected birds fed BLJ showed an increased relative abundance of Unclassified_Lachnospiraceae and a significantly decreased relative abundance of Erysipelotrichaceae.Conclusion:BLJ supplementation improved growth performance and gut health in NE-infected broiler chickens by strengthening the intestinal barrier function,positively modulating the gut microbiota community and differentially regulating intestinal immune responses.Our results also suggested that adding BLJ effectively controlled NE infections after experimental Eimeria and Clostridium perfringens coinfection.Van Hieu Pham Liugang Kan Jinyu Huang Yanqiang Geng Wenrui Zhen Yuming Guo Waseem Abbas Zhong Wang 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,3:8

6Transformative hyaluronic acid-based active targeting supramolecular nanoplatform improves long circulation and enhances cellular uptake in cancer therapy显示文摘Hyaluronic acid(HA) is a natural ligand of tumor-targeted drug delivery systems(DDS) due to the relevant CD44 receptor overexpressed on tumor cell membranes. However, other HA receptors(HARE and LYVE-1) are also overexpressing in the reticuloendothelial system(RES). Therefore,polyethylene glycol(PEG) modification of HA-based DDS is necessary to reduce RES capture.Unfortunately, pegylation remarkably inhibits tumor cellular uptake and endosomal escapement,significantly compromising the in vivo antitumor efficacy. Herein, we developed a Dox-loaded HA-based transformable supramolecular nanoplatform(Dox/HCVBP) to overcome this dilemma. Dox/HCVBP contains a tumor extracellular acidity-sensitive detachable PEG shell achieved by a benzoic imine linkage.The in vitro and in vivo investigations further demonstrated that Dox/HCVBP could be in a 'stealth' state at blood stream for a long circulation time due to the buried HA ligands and the minimized nonspecific interaction by PEG shell. However, it could transform into a 'recognition' state under the tumor acidic microenvironment for efficient tumor cellular uptake due to the direct exposure of active targeting ligand HA following PEG shell detachment. 8Effects of End-Bend and Curved Blades on the Flow Field and Loss of a Compressor Linear Cascade in the Design Condition显示文摘Curved blade and end-bend blade are considered as effective passive control methods for improving the aerodynamic performance of a compressor cascade,and their applicability also needs to be further studied.A highly-loaded compressor linear cascade in the design condition was taken as the research objective in this paper.Numerical simulation was used to study the positive and negative effects of these methods on the flow loss of the cascade by redistributing the vortex structures.Results show that:the curved blade could reduce the flow loss to 2.55%,while the end-bend blade and the end-bend+curved blade increase it to 10.58%and 2.19%,respectively.The positive effect of the curved blade weakens the strength and scale of Concentrated Shedding Vortex(CSV),which accounts for 59.2%of the total flow loss.The negative effect of the end-bend blade exacerbates the low-energy fluid clusters from the end wall and wake into CSV.Finally,the end-bend+curved blade can take their own strengths,but it enhances the twisting motion of Passage Vortex(PV)and CSV,which makes it fail to reduce the flow loss.Therefore,the positive and negative effects of these methods on the flow loss of a compressor cascade are much clearer.In addition,we also predict the potential danger of the end-bend blade in the negative incidence conditions and provides some suggestion for future study.KAN Xiaoxu WU Wanyang YANG Ling ZHONG Jingjun 2019Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,4:4
9The mechanosensitive lncRNA Neat1 promotes osteoblast function through paraspeckle-dependent Smurf1 mRNA retention显示文摘Mechanical stimulation plays an important role in bone remodeling. Exercise-induced mechanical loading enhances bone strength,whereas mechanical unloading leads to bone loss. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that long noncoding RNAs(lnc RNAs) play key roles in diverse biological, physiological and pathological contexts. However, the roles of lnc RNAs in mechanotransduction and their relationships with bone formation remain unknown. In this study, we screened mechanosensing lnc RNAs in osteoblasts and identified Neat1, the most clearly decreased lnc RNA under simulated microgravity. Of note, not only Neat1 expression but also the specific paraspeckle structure formed by Neat1 was sensitive to different mechanical stimulations, which were closely associated with osteoblast function. Paraspeckles exhibited small punctate aggregates under simulated microgravity and elongated prolate or larger irregular structures under mechanical loading. Neat1 knockout mice displayed disrupted bone formation, impaired bone structure and strength, and reduced bone mass. Neat1 deficiency in osteoblasts reduced the response of osteoblasts to mechanical stimulation. In vivo, Neat1 knockout in mice weakened the bone phenotypes in response to mechanical loading and hindlimb unloading stimulation. Mechanistically, paraspeckles promoted nuclear retention of E3 ubiquitin ligase Smurf1 m RNA and downregulation of their translation, thus inhibiting ubiquitination-mediated degradation of the osteoblast master transcription factor Runx2, a Smurf1 target. 10A NUMERICAL MODEL OF FAR-FIELD COD CONCENTRATION DISTRIBUTION FOR NATURAL RIVER显示文摘A far field numerical model is developed to simulate jet pollution into natural rivers. Its character is to compute the velocity and pollution concentration separately. The velocity is computed by SIMPLEC algorithm in boundary fitted coordinate systems. The present model was applied to the Xiantao section of the Hanjiang River a tributary of Yangtze River, and Xiangjiang River. 11The Screening of Genes Sensitive to Long-Term, Low-Level Microwave Exposure and Bioinformatic Analysis of Potential Correlations to Learning and Memory显示文摘Objective To gain a better understanding of gene expression changes in the brain following microwave exposure in mice. This study hopes to reveal mechanisms contributing to microwaveinduced learning and memory dysfunction. Methods Mice were exposed to whole body 2100 MHz microwaves with specific absorption rates(SARs) of 0.45 W/kg, 1.8 W/kg, and 3.6 W/kg for 1 hour daily for 8 weeks. Differentially expressing genes in the brains were screened using high-density oligonucleotide arrays, with genes showing more significant differences further confirmed by RT-PCR. Results The gene chip results demonstrated that 41 genes(0.45 W/kg group), 29 genes(1.8 W/kg group), and 219 genes(3.6 W/kg group) were differentially expressed. GO analysis revealed that these differentially expressed genes were primarily involved in metabolic processes, cellular metabolic processes, regulation of biological processes, macromolecular metabolic processes, biosynthetic processes, cellular protein metabolic processes, transport, developmental processes, cellular component organization, etc. KEGG pathway analysis showed that these genes are mainly involved in pathways related to ribosome, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, long-term potentiation, Huntington's disease, and Neurotrophin signaling. Construction of a protein interaction network identified several important regulatory genes including synbindin(sbdn), Crystallin(Crya B), PPP1 CA, Ywhaq, Psap, Psmb1, Pcbp2, etc., which play important roles in the processes of learning and memory. 13Comment on 'Heterotopic ossification after arthroscopy for hip impingement syndrome'显示文摘We have read with great interest the article 'Heterotopic ossification after arthroscopy for hip impingement syndrome' by Gao et al.[1] The authors showed the incidence of heterotopic ossification (HO) is an observed complication after hip arthroscopy for hip impingement syndrome which is not common (5.4%,13/242) and most HO has no or little effect on clinical symptoms.We also agree with them that oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are beneficial in the prevention of HO after primary hip arthroscopy.Although we agree with the conclusion similar to our previous studies in the clinic,there are some issues we like to comment on.Ming-Jin Zhong Kan Ouyang 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,14:1
14Exploring the relationship of hyaluronic acid molecular weight and active targeting efficiency for designing hyaluronic acid-modified nanoparticles显示文摘Although it is reported that the targeting ability of hyaluronic acid(HA)-based nanoparticles(NPs) is molecular weight(MW) dependent,the influence of HA MW on targeting efficiency of HA-functionalized NPs and the underlying mechanism remain elusive. In this study,we constituted three HA-functionalized Dox-loaded NPs(Dox/HCVs) different HA MWs(7,63,and 102 k Da) and attempted to illustrate the effects of HA MW on the targeting efficiency.The three Dox/HCVs had similar physiochemical and pharmaceutical characteristics,but showed different affinity to CD44 receptor. Furthermore,Dox/HCV-63 exerted the best targeting effect and the highest cytotoxicity compared with Dox/HCV-7 and Dox/HCV-102. It was interesting to found that both the HA-CD44 binding affinity and induced CD44 clustering by HA-based NPs were HA MW-dependent,the two of which determine the apparent targeting efficacy of Dox/HCV NPs in the conflicting directions. 17Structures and stability of isomers of[C,N,N,P]system显示文摘Nine isomers, twenty transition states, and some relative dissociation fragments of [C,N,N,P] system were located at the B3LYP/6-311G(d) and QCISD(t)/6-311+G(2df) (single-point) levels of theory, and the isomerization, structures, and stability of these obtained isomers were suggested. The results indicate that four nonlinear chainlike isomers NCNP, NCPN, CNPN, and CNNP with 2A′ electronic state are kinetically stable. Other isomers are kinetically unstable to-wards isomerization or dissociation because of the corresponding smaller reaction barriers. Furthermore, calculated vibrational frequencies, rotational constants, dipole moments, the first adiabatic ionization energies, and adiabatic electron affinities of the four isomers may provide some theoretical information that is helpful for identifying their existence in future laboratory and interstellar investigations. 20Simultaneous Inversion of Earthquake Relocation and Velocity Structure in the Shanxi-reservoir,Wenzhou显示文摘Using the data of P-wave travel time recorded at the Shanxi-reservoir seismological network and Zhejiang and Fujian local networks, we implemented a simultaneous inversion of earthquake relocation and velocity structure and determined the new locations of earthquakes in the Shanxi-reservoir. The results show that: (1) the overall epicenter distribution is NW directed, and the Shanxi reservoir induced seismicity has a close relationship to the Shuangxi-Jiaoxiyang fault; (2) the focal depth of the Shanxi reservoir induced seismicity is 5.4km in average, less than the average focal depth in the South China earthquake zone; (3) the focal depth is shallower on the reservoir shore and deeper in the reservoir inundation area. At the beginning of the reservoir induced seismicity, the focal depth increased gradually. This may be due to the gradual penetration of water into a larger depth that induced deeper earthquakes; and (4) there is a low P-wave velocity anomaly in the study area, located at the intersection of multiple faults in the reservoir inundation area. The Shanxi reservoir induced seismicity mostly occurred in this low-velocity anomaly zone.
