1Inflammation, oxidative stress and renin angiotensin system in atherosclerosis显示文摘Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with cardiovascular dysfunction including myocardial infarction, unstable angina, sudden cardiac death, stroke and peripheral thromboses. It has been predicted that atherosclerosis will be the primary cause of death in the world by 2020. Atherogenesis is initiated by endothelial injury due to oxidative stress associated with cardiovascular risk factors including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cigarette smoking, dyslipidemia, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. The impairment of the endothelium associated with cardiovascular risk factors creates an imbalance between vasodilating and vasoconstricting factors, in particular, an increase in angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang Ⅱ) and a decrease in nitric oxide. The renin-angiotensin system(RAS), and its primary mediator Ang Ⅱ, also have a direct influence on the progression of the atherosclerotic process via effects on endothelial function, inflammation, fibrinolytic balance, and plaque stability. Anti-inflammatory agents [statins, secretory phospholipase A2 inhibitor, lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 inhibitor, 5-lipoxygenase activating protein, chemokine motif ligand-2, C-C chemokine motif receptor 2 pathway inhibitors, methotrexate, IL-1 pathway inhibitor and RAS inhibitors(angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors)], Ang Ⅱ receptor blockers and ranin inhibitors may slow inflammatory processes and disease progression. Several studies in human using anti-inflammatory agents and RAS inhibitors revealed vascular benefits and reduced progression of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with stable angina pectoris; decreased vascular inflammatory markers, improved common carotid intima-media thickness and plaque volume in patients with diagnosed atherosclerosis. 2Red cell distribution width to platelet ratio: New and promising prognostic marker in acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of red cell distribution width(RDW) to platelet ratio(RPR) to predict in-hospital mortality in acute pancreatitis(AP).METHODS: Between January 2010 and June 2012, 102 patients with AP were recruited to the study. In this retrospective cohort study, for all subjects, demographic data on hospital admission, AP etiology, comorbid diseases, organ failure assessment, laboratory parameters and length of hospital stay were examined. Additionally, we used a non-invasive prediction method in addition to the RPR to evaluate the disease severity. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the impact of RPR on hospital admission to predict mortality.RESULTS:The male-female ratio(59/43)was 1.37with a median age of 56.5 years(17-89 years).In both univariate and multivariate analyses,RDW and RPR were presented as independent and significant variables on admission to predict mortality.The RPR obtained on hospital admission was persistently higher amongnon-survivors than among survivors(P<0.0001).The median RPR was 0.000087 in the non-survivor group and 0.000058 in the survivor group.RPR with a cutoff value of 0.000067 presented an area under the curve of 0.783(95%CI:0.688-0.878)in receiver operating characteristic curves and could predict the mortality of approximately 80%of the patients.Erdin etinkaya Kazim Senol Baris Saylam Mesut Tez 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,39:38
3Alcohol-induced hypertension: Mechanism and prevention显示文摘Epidemiological, preclinical and clinical studies es-tablished the association between high alcohol con-sumption and hypertension. However the mechanism through which alcohol raises blood pressure remains elusive. Several possible mechanisms have been pro-posed such as an imbalance of the central nervous system, impairment of the baroreceptors, enhanced sympathetic activity, stimulation of the renin-angio-tensin-aldosterone system, increased cortisol levels, increased vascular reactivity due to increase in intracel-lular calcium levels, stimulation of the endothelium to release vasoconstrictors and loss of relaxation due to inflammation and oxidative injury of the endothelium leading to inhibition of endothelium-dependent nitric oxide production. Loss of relaxation due to inflamma-tion and oxidative injury of the endothelium by angio-tensin II leading to inhibition of endothelium-dependent nitric oxide production is the major contributors of the alcohol-induced hypertension. For the prevention of alcohol-induced hypertension is to reduce the amount of alcohol intake. Physical conditioning/exercise trainingis one of the most important strategies to prevent/treat chronic alcohol-induced hypertension on physiological basis. The efficacious pharmacologic treatment includes the angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin Ⅱ type 1 receptor blockers(ARBs) which have antioxidant activity and calcium channel blockers. 4Role of interventional radiology in the management of acute gastrointestinal bleeding显示文摘Acute gastrointestinal bleeding(GIB) can lead to significant morbidity and mortality without appropriate treatment. There are numerous causes of acute GIB including but not limited to infection, vascular anomalies, inflammatory diseases, trauma, and malignancy. The diagnostic and therapeutic approach of GIB depends on its location, severity, and etiology. The role of interventional radiology becomes vital in patients whose GIB remains resistant to medical and endoscopic treatment. Radiology offers diagnostic imaging studies and endovascular therapeutic interventions that can be performed promptly and effectively with successful outcomes. Computed tomography angiography and nuclear scintigraphy can localize the source of bleeding and provide essential information for the interventional radiologist to guide therapeutic management with endovascular angiography and transcatheter embolization. 5Comparison of non-cycloplegic photorefraction,cycloplegic photorefraction and cycloplegic retinoscopy in children显示文摘AIM: To compare the results of noncycloplegic photorefraction, cycloplegic photorefraction and cycloplegic refraction in preschool and non-verbal children.METHODS: One hundred and ninety-six eyes of 98children(50 females, 48 males) were included in the study. Firstly, non-cycloplegic photorefraction was achieved with Plusoptix A09; secondly, cycloplegic photorefraction was carried out with Plusoptix A09 after10 min cyclopentolate. Finally, 30 min after instillation of twice cyclopentolate, cycloplegic refraction was obtained with autorefraction and/or standard retinoscopy. Spheric equivalent, spheric power, cylindric power and cylindrical axis measurements were statistically compared.RESULTS: The mean age was 28.8±18.5mo(range12-72mo). The differences in spherical equivalent, spheric power and cylindrical power measured by the three methods were found statistically significant(P <0.05).The spherical equivalent and spheric power measured by cycloplegic photorefraction were statistically higher than the measurements of the other methods(P <0.05). The cylindrical power measured by cycloplegic refraction was statistically lower than the measurements of the photorefraction methods(P <0.05). There was no significant difference in cylindrical axis measurements between three methods(P >0.05).CONCLUSION: For the determination of refractive errors in children, the Plusoptix A09 measurements give incorrect results after instillation of cyclopentolate.Additionally, the cylindrical power measured by Plusoptix A09 with or without cycloplegia is higher. 6大麦重组自交系群体籽粒总花色苷含量和千粒重QTL定位显示文摘以云南特有的紫色大麦紫光芒裸二棱和澳大利亚引进的黄色大麦Schooner构建的193个重组自交系为材料,对2013-2015年3年3个试验点的大麦籽粒总花色苷含量和千粒重进行相关性分析和QTL定位。大麦总花色苷含量和千粒重之间呈显著或极显著负相关。共检测到12个总花色苷含量QTL,分别位于1H、2H、4H、6H和7H染色体,贡献率为5.06%~23.86%;8个千粒重QTL,分别位于2H、4H和7H染色体,贡献率为4.67%~42.32%。贡献率大于10%的QTL有10个,大于20%的有5个,最大的可达42.32%。其中至少2年2点重复检测到2个总花色苷含量QTL,分别位于2H Bmag0125–GBM1309和7H EBmatc0016–Bmag0206区间,可分别解释表型变异的13.66%~17.76%和13.07%~16.43%;3年3点重复检测到2个千粒重QTL,分别位于2HScssr03381–scssr07759和7H GBM1297-GBM1303区间,可分别解释表型变异的4.67%~14.55%和34.51%~42.32%,其加性作用方向均一致。控制总花色苷含量与千粒重的主效QTL同位于2H和7H染色体。杨晓梦 李霞 普晓英 杜娟 Muhammad Kazim Ali 杨加珍 曾亚文 杨涛 2020作物学报2020,46,1:5
7Identification and characterization of genotype A and D recombinant hepatitis B virus from Indian chronic HBV isolates显示文摘AIM: To confirm the presence of recombination,full-length hepatitis B virus (HBV) from chronic patients was sequenced and analyzed.METHODS: Full-length HBV genomes from 12 patients were amplified and sequenced in an automated sequencer.Phylogenetic analysis was carried out on full-length,Core and preS2/Surface regions using MEGA software.SimPlot Boot Scanning and amino acid sequence analysis were performed for confirmation of recombination.RESULTS: Eight patients were infected with genotype D strain; one patient with genotype A and three patients had genotype A and D recombination; two of them had cirrhosis and one had hepatocellular carcinoma.Phylogenetic analysis of core and preS2/surface regions separately showed evidence of genotype A and D recombination.The breakpoints of recombination were found to be at the start of preS2 and at the end of surface coding regions.CONCLUSION: We identified and characterized recombinant A and D genotype HBV in hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive patients.Ranjit Chauhan Syed Naqui Kazim Manoj Kumar Jayashree Bhattacharjee Narayanasamy Krishnamoorthy Shiv Kumar Sarin 2008World Journal of Gastroenterology2008,14,40:4
8槟榔子中抗血小板聚集及抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶活性的有效成分(英文)显示文摘目的:研究槟榔子(Areca catechu)粗提取物中所含的抗血小板聚集及抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶活性的有效成分及其作用机制。方法:使用70%甲醇水溶液对槟榔子进行粗提取。使用生物发光血小板凝集仪在富血小板血浆中测定槟榔子粗提取物的抗血小板聚集作用,使用分光光度计在试管内测定槟榔子粗提取物对乙酰胆碱酯酶活性的抑制作用。检测槟榔子中的多种化合物以测定槟榔子中抗血小板聚集及抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶活性的有效成分。结果:槟榔子粗提取物能够抑制花生四烯酸、二磷酸腺苷、血小板活化因子、肾上腺素及钙离子载体引起的血小板聚集,尤其对二磷酸腺苷及钙离子载体引起的血小板聚集的抑制最为明显;槟榔子粗提取物能够显著抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶的活性。在所检测的槟榔子所含化合物中,只有儿茶素对肾上腺素引起的血小板聚集有显著的抑制作用,而这种抑制作用显著弱于槟榔子粗提取物,提示槟榔子中的其他成分参与了这种抑制作用;鞣酸、没食子酸、薯蓣皂苷元和异去甲槟榔次碱能够抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶的活性,其中鞣酸的抑制作用强于槟榔子粗提取物。结论:槟榔子中含有抗血小板聚集及抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶活性的有效成分,而发挥这些功效的确切成分有待进一步的研究证实。Muhammad Nabeel Ghayur Syed Faraz Kazim Huma Rasheed Asaad Khalid Maliha Iqbal Jumani Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary Anwarul Hassan Gilani 2011中西医结合学报2011,9,6:4

11Partial Protection by Lipoic Acid Against Carboplantin-induced Ototoxicity in Rats显示文摘Objective To investigate the alterations in auditory brainstem evoked responses (ABRs) and the changes of carboplatin-induced ototoxicity in the cochlear oxidant/antioxidant systems and otoprotection by an antioxidant lipoate. Methods Male wistar rats were divided into four groups and treated as follows: 1) vehicle (saline) control, 2) carboplatin (256 mg/kg, i.p.), 3) lipoate (100 mg/kg, i.p.), 4) lipoate + carboplatin. Post-treatment ABRs were performed after four days and rats were sacrificed with their cochleae harvested and analyzed. Results Carboplatin significantly elevated ABR threshold above the pretreatment thresholds. Lipoate+carboplatin treated rats showed decreased elevation of hearing threshold. Carboplatin significantly depleted cochlear reduced to oxizized glutathione (GSH/GSSG) ratio, whereas lipoate+carboplatin treatment increased GSH/GSSG ratio. Carboplatin significantly decreased cochlear copper zinc-superoxide dismutase (CuZn-SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), glutathione reductase (GR) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) activities and enzyme protein expressions and a significant increase in Mn-SOD activity, protein expression and malondialdehyde (MDA) level. Cochlear antioxidant enzyme activities, enzyme protein expressions and MDA level were partially restored in lipoate+carboplatin treated rats, compared to carboplatin alone. Conclusion Carboplatin-induced ototoxicity is related to impairment of cochlear antioxidant system and otoprotection conferred by lipoate is associated with partial sparing of the cochlear antioxidant defense system.KAZIM HUSAIN CRAIG WHITWORTH SATU M.
