| 1 | Experimental study on fusion and break-up motion after droplet collision显示文摘The interactions between droplets have an important influence on the atomization of liquid fuel,the combustion efficiency,and the reduction of particulate matter emissions for an engine.For this reason,this paper presents results from an experimental study on the coalescence and break-up of droplets after collision.According to the shape and parameters of the droplets at different times after the collision of the droplets was captured by a high speed camera,analysis was done for the following effects of droplet collisions:the collision-coalescence motion for the collision between the droplets,the change history of the dimensionless length-to-width ratio of the oscillation motion,the critical size ratio of the breakup motion,and the liquid physical properties of the particles.The results show that the droplets collide and exhibit two forms of coalescence oscillation and break-up:for oscillating motion,at higher droplet collision velocities and dimensionless size ratios,there will be a larger dimensionless length-to-width ratio for the droplet oscillation;for the break-up motion,at higher collision velocities,there will be lower dimensionless size ratios,and lower liquid surface tension,shorter times over which the droplet breaks,and facilitated droplet break-up.The research results presented here can be used for atomization in engine cylinder,increasing the gas/liquid contact area and enhancing the combustion efficiency of gas/liquid heat transfer to improve the combustion efficiency of the engine. | Yi Li Zhi Ning Ming Lü | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,3: | 1 |

| 3 | An overview on GNSS carrier-phase time transfer research显示文摘Global navigation satellite system(GNSS)carrier phase observations are two orders of higher accuracy than pseudo-range observations,and they are less affected by multipath besides.As a result,the time transfer accuracy can reach 0.1 ns,and the frequency transfer stability can reach 1×10^-15 with carrier phase(CP)method,therefore CP method is considered the most accurate and promising time transfer technology.The focus of this paper is to present a comprehensive summary of CP method,with specific attention directed toward day-boundary clock jump,ambiguity resolution(AR),multi-system time transfer and real-time time transfer.Day-boundary clock jump is essentially caused by pseudo-range noise.Several approaches were proposed to solve the problem,such as continuously processing strategy,sliding batch and bidirectional filtering methods which were compared in this study.Additionally,researches on AR in CP method were introduced.Many scholars attempted to fix the single-difference ambiguities to improve the time transfer result,however,owing to the uncalibrated phase delay(UPD)was not considered,the current studies on AR in CP method were still immature.Moreover,because four GNSS systems could be used for time-transfer currently,which was helpful to increase the accuracy and reliability,the researches on multi-system time transfer were reviewed.What’s more,real-time time transfer attracted more attention nowadays,the preliminary research results were presented. | ZHANG Ming Lü JinHu BAI ZhengDong JIANG ZhiQi CHEN BoBo | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,4: | 3 |
| 4 | Numerical simulation of flow focusing pattern and morphological changes in two-phase flow inside nozzle显示文摘The flow focusing nozzle is a new type of nozzle that performs effective atomization of the discrete phase by means of high-speed motion of the continuous phase.The flow pattern and its morphological changes have a significant effect on the atomization, but the influence of different parameters on the morphological change of the flow pattern remains unclear.The flow focusing pattern and morphological changes in the two-phase flow inside the nozzle were simulated numerically, based on the volume of fluid method.The results demonstrate that the ratio of the nozzle-to-capillary distance and capillary diameter, the gas–liquid velocity ratio, and capillary diameter have significant effects on the flow pattern.When the ratio of the nozzle-to-capillary distance H and capillary diameter D increases, or the capillary diameter D increases, the flow pattern tends to transform into a laminar form; however, when the gas–liquid velocity ratio V increases, the flow pattern tends to transform into a turbulence form.Furthermore, we define the cone-shaped expansion rate, cone-shaped focusing rate,and cone angle in order to study the morphological changes in the cone shape inside the nozzle.The results indicate that the morphological change of the cone shape and flow pattern transformation is interrelated.When the cone shape tends to be unstable, the flow pattern changes towards flow blurring, whereas, a stable cone indicates that the flow tends to exhibit a droplet pattern. | Jin Zhao Zhi Ning Ming Lü Geng Wang | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Activation of bone morphogenetic protein-6 gene transcription in MCF-7 cells by estrogen显示文摘Background Bone morphogenetic protein-6 (BMP-6) is closely correlated with tumor differentiation and skeletal metastasis. Estrogen is considered as a stimulant for the initiation and promotion of breast cancer. Previous studies demonstrated that 17β-estadiol (E2) can selectively increase the expression of BMP-6. This experiment is designed to detect the molecular mechanism of estrogen activating BMP-6 gene transcription in human estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer cell line MCF-7. Methods After the treatment of MCF-7 cells with E2 at different concentrations (10-11 mol/L, 10-9 mol/L, 10-7 mol/L), the BMP-6 expression level was examined through real-time polymerase chain reaction. Through restriction enzyme digestion, human BMP-6 1.2 kb long promoter, BMP-6 0.7 kb long promoter was cloned into pGL-3 basic vector; after the treatment with 10-7 mol/L E2, luciferase activities of the two promoters were detected. Site-directed mutagenesis was performed to obtain the mutant forms of estrogen response element half-site (1/2 ERE) element and Sp1 sites in the BMP-6 promoter, the activities of these mutant form promoters were detected following the methods mentioned above. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay was also used to confirm the binding of estrogen receptor α (Erα) on BMP-6 promoter in the presence of E2. Results E2 dose dependently increased BMP-6 mRNA expression in human ER+ breast cancer cell line MCF-7. At a dose of 10-7 mol/L E2, human BMP-6 1.2 kb promoter activity was increased by 90% compared with the control group treated with ethanol (P<0.05). Both the 1/2 ERE response element mutant form and the Sp1 site mutant form of the BMP-6 promoter abolished the activation of the BMP-6 promoter's response to E2. Through ChIP assay, the binding of Erα on 1/2 ERE response element in BMP-6 promoter was further validated. | 11 | Observations of narrow bipolar events during two thunderstorms in Northeast China显示文摘Here we report characteristics of more than 100 cases of Narrow Bipolar Events(NBEs)occurred during two thunderstorms on the basis of our analysis of the dataset collected by a GPS based three-station time of arrival(TOA)lightning location system deployed in Northeast China during the summer of 2010.All of the NBEs were of positive polarity and the amplitude of VLF/LF initial pulse of NBE was comparable to that of return strokes.The waveform characteristics of 166 NBEs that occurred within 150 km were consistent with the results of other reports.The average value of initial peak width of the bipolar pulse is 7.8±1.5 μs,full width at half maximum is 4.6±1.0 μs,and the ratio of initial peak amplitude to overshoot peak is 2.1±0.6.The inferred source height of NBEs occurred in two thunderstorms averaged 9.6 and 7.4 km above mean sea level,whereas the corresponding virtual ionosphere heights at two different times were 89 and 78 km,respectively.In NBEproducing thunderstorms,NBEs tended to burst during the active stage of normal lightning;nevertheless,no determinate quantitative relations could be established between them.In Storm 0711,NBEs were inclined to cluster at the proximity of particular convective cores with high radar reflectivity,and NBEs tended to move consistently at the front area of those NBE-producing convective cores during the evolution of thunderstorm. | Lü FanChao ZHU BaoYou MA Ming WEI LingXiang MA Dong | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,8: | 0 |

Phytic acid was introduced to modify the surface charging of the components for hybrid assembly. The obtained powder was coated on ceramic tiles and fired at 900 ℃ to fabricate photocatalytic ceramic. Experimental results show that anatase TiO2 in the composite powder has high thermal stability until 1 200 ℃. ZrSiO4 matrix prevents the mass transfer of anatase TiO2 at high temperature and greatly retards the phase transition of anatase to rutile.
