| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | High levels of circulating GM-CSF^(+) CD4^(+) T cells are predictive of poor outcomes in sepsis patients: a prospective cohort study显示文摘Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF),produced by CD4^(+)T cells,has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases,such as multiple sclerosis and juvenile arthritis.However,the role of GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in sepsis remains unknown.This study reports peripheral changes in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in septic patients and the possible underlying mechanism by which GM-CSF influences the outcome of sepsis.Forty-three septic patients,20 SIRS patients,and 20 healthy controls were enrolled in this study and followed for 28 days to assess mortality.We measured the peripheral frequency of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells and recorded their associated relationship with disease progression.Our data demonstrated that peripheral GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells were significantly higher in septic patients than in both SIRS patients and healthy controls.These cells exhibit a memory phenotype and impaired IFN-γ-secreting capacity in sepsis patients.Using a receiver operating curve analysis with 8.01%as a cut-off point,the percentage of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells could predict the outcome of septic patients.Combined with the increase in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells,inflammatory cytokines IL-1βand IL-6 were also upregulated.Using an in vitro neutrophil model,we found that GM-CSF inhibited C3aR expression,while inducing IL-8 production.Furthermore,this effect was transferrable in plasma from sepsis patients and was attenuated by inhibition of GM-CSF using an anti-GM-CSF antibody.These results indicate that GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells may serve as a marker of sepsis severity.Thus,targeting GM-CSF overproduction may benefit sepsis patients. | Huihuang Huang Siyu Wang Tianjun Jiang Rong Fan Zheng Zhang Jinsong Mu Ke Li Yonggang Wang Lei Jin Fang Lin Jie Xia Lijian Sun Biao Xu Chengcheng Ji Jing Chen Juan Chang Bo Tu Bing Song Chao Zhang Fu-Sheng Wang Ruonan Xu | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6: | 6 |

Herein, we have demonstrated a facile synthesis of highly efficient catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction in both alkaline and acidic medium, which is derived from ZIF-8 functionalized with ammonium ferric citrate via two-step pyrolysis in Ar and NH_3 atmosphere.The results reveal that the catalytic activity improvement after NH3 pyrolysis benefits from mesoporedominated morphology and high utilization of Fe-containing active sites. | 8 | Plasma Mutation Breeding of High Yield γ-Aminobutyric Acid Lactic Acid Bacteria显示文摘γ-amino butyric acid (GABA) is a non-protein amino acid widely distributed in nature. It has analgesic effect, promotes growth hormone secretion and prevents the physiological function of Alzheimer's disease.In order to improve the yield of GABA, the strain of strain HX-3-6 was tested by Atmospheric and Room Temperature Plasma (ARTP), and the strain with more than 90% lethality was selected for fermentation, and through the gradient plate according to the level of GABA concentration and colony size of the screening. Then, use the fermentation medium for re-screening and genetic stability test. The yield of the mutant strain L-120-1 was 5.828 g/L, which was 18.84% higher than that before the mutation (4.904). The mutant strain L-120-1 was used as the starting strain for ARTP mutagenesis. The yield of the stable mutant strain 90s-high was 6.178g / L, which was 16.15% higher than that before the mutation (5.319g / L). | 12 | Design Optimization of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion(OTEC)Considering the Off-Design Condition显示文摘The comprehensive optimization of thermodynamic and economic performances is significant for the engineering application of ocean thermal energy conversion(OTEC).Motivated by this,this paper develops a thermo-economic OTEC model and conducts a sensitivity analysis of the OTEC system concerning its thermodynamic and economic performances.Specifically,the impact of warm-seawater temperature and cold-seawater pumping depth on the net thermal efficiency and the total investment cost are investigated.The results indicate that,an increase in warm-seawater temperature and cold-seawater pumping depth can improve the net thermal efficiency and a higher installed capacity is beneficial to the system economics.Building on these,a design optimization method with considering the on-design and off-design conditions is proposed in this paper,and the dynamic variation of warm-seawater temperature are considered in this method.In multi-objective optimization procedure,with the objective functions being the average net thermal efficiency and unit power cost within the operational cycle,the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ) is employed to maximize the net thermal efficiency and minimize the unit power investment cost,resulting in the Pareto front.The net thermal efficiencies of OTEC systems using ammonia and R245fa as working fluids are 4.13% and 3.8%,respectively.This represents an improvement of 19.4% and 57.0%,respectively,compared to traditional optimization methods that do not account for off-design conditions. | FAN Chengcheng CHEN Yongping | 2023 | Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,6: | 0 |
| 13 | A parallel data generator for efficiently generating “realistic” social streams显示文摘A social stream refers to the data stream that records a series of social entities and the dynamic interac-tions between two entities. It can be employed to model the changes of entity states in numerous applications. The social streams, the combination of graph and streaming data, pose great challenge to efficient analytical query processing, and are key to better understanding users' behavior. Considering of privacy and other related issues, a social stream genera-tor is of great significance. A framework of synthetic social stream generator (SSG) is proposed in this paper. The gener-ated social streams using SSG can be tuned to capture sev-eral kinds of fundamental social stream properties, includ-ing patterns about users' behavior and graph patterns. Ex-tensive empirical studies with several real-life social stream data sets show that SSG can produce data that better fit to real data. It is also confirmed that SSG can generate social stream data continuously with stable throughput and memory consumption. Furthermore, we propose a parallel implemen-tation of SSG with the help of asynchronized parallel pro-cessing model and delayed update strategy. The results suggested that CO_2 migration did not stop after three years of consecutive injection,but migration rate was slowing down with time. As a result,displacement near injection well increased with injection and decreased slowly after injection. The maximum displacement of surface center occurred near the end of injection,which was only 1. 24 cm.
