| 5 | A huge oceanic-type UHP metamorphic belt in southwestern Tianshan, China: Peak metamorphic age and P-T path显示文摘Recent progress in the study of the UHP metamorphic belt in southwestern Tianshan,China,is summarized in this paper.This about 80-km-long and over 10-km-wide UHP belt has been recognized by the discovery of coesite,coesite pseudomorphs and other UHP minerals.It is the largest oceanic-type UHP metamorphic belt reported so far.It has formed due to northward subduction of the Tianshan Paleo-Ocean.U-Pb dating of metamorphic rims of zircons from a coesite-bearing garnet-phengite schist yields a peak UHP metamorphic ages of 320±3.7 Ma.Combined with ages of 233–226 Ma obtained from rims of zircons from retrograded eclogites,a long retrograde metamorphic evolution(>70 Ma)has been revealed.According to phase equilibria modeling,the P-T paths of both coesite-bearing eclogites and garnet-phengite schists are characterized by thermal relaxation,i.e.,the metamorphic temperature peak lags behind the pressure peak,indicating that the UHP rocks experienced slow and long heating and decompression during exhumation in the subduction channel.On the basis of the field observation that a small amount of eclogite lenses is wrapped in large volumes of metapelites,and the similar P-T paths of both rock types,we propose that the exhumation of the UHP eclogites from southwestern Tianshan,China,may have resulted from the exhumation of large volumes of low-density metapelites,which carried the denser eclogites to the Earth’s surface. | ZHANG LiFei DU JinXue Lü Zeng YANG Xin GOU LongLong XIA Bin CHEN ZhenYu WEI ChunJing SONG ShuGuang | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,35: | 19 |
| 6 | Characterization and Genetic Analysis of a Novel Rice Spotted-leaf Mutant HM47 with Broad-spectrum Resistance to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae显示文摘A stable inherited rice spotted-leaf mutant HM47 derived from an EMS-induced IR64 mutant bank was identified. The mutant expressed hypersensitive response (HR)-like symptoms throughout its whole life from the first leaf to the flag leaf, without pathogen invasion. Initiation of the lesions was induced by light under natural summer field conditions. Expression of pathogenesis-related genes including PAL, PO-C1, POX22.3 and PBZ1 was enhanced significantly in association with cell death and accumulation of H2O2 at and around the site of lesions in the mutant in contrast to that in the wild-type (WT). Disease reaction to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae from the Philippines and China showed that HM47 is a broad-spectrum disease-resistant mutant with enhanced resistance to multiple races of bacterial blight pathogens tested. An F2 progeny test showed that bacterial blight resistance to race HB-17 was cosegregated with the expression of lesions. Genetic analysis indicated that the spotted-leaf trait was controlled by a single recessive gene, tentatively named spl HM47 , flanked by two insertion/deletion markers in a region of approximately 74 kb on the long arm of chromosome 4. Ten open reading frames are predicted, and all of them are expressed proteins. | 9 | Chinese herbal medicine for subacute thyroiditis:a systematic review of randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) in the treatmentofsubacutethyroiditis.METHODS: Randomized controlled trials found in PubMed, Cochrane Library, and three Chinese databases were selected. RevMan 5.2 software was used to analyze the data with relative risk or mean difference, expressed with 95% of confidence interval. The quality of trials was assessed and gradedthe quality of evidence with GRADE profiler software.RESULTS: Twenty one studies were included. CHM was superior to Western Medicine(include prednisone and NSAIDs) in abating fever, relieving thyroid pain, recovering blood sedimentation, improving thyroid function, and preventing hypothyroidism(P<0.05), while no statistical differences were found in eliminating goiter and reducing relapse rate.CHM plusWestern Medicine were superior toWestern Medicine in abating fever, relieving thyroid pain, eliminating goiter, and reducing relapse rate,while no statistical differences(P>0.05) were found in recovering blood sedimentation and improving thyroid function. The incidence of adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group(relative risk was 0.12 and 95% confidence interval was 0.03-0.51). The methodological quality of trials is generally poor with a high risk of bias.CONCLUSION: CHM(particularly CHM combined withWestern Medicine) used to treat subacute thyroiditis may improve clinical symptoms and signs,reduce relapse rate, and alleviate the side effects of hormones. | 12 | Tidally induced upwelling off Yangtze River estuary and in Zhejiang coastal waters in summer显示文摘MASNUM wave-tide-circulation coupled numerical model (MASNUM coupled model, hereinafter) is de-veloped based on the Princeton Ocean Model (POM). Both POM and MASNUM coupled model are ap-plied in the numerical simulation of the upwelling off Yangtze River estuary and in Zhejiang coastal waters in summer. The upwelling mechanisms are analyzed from the viewpoint of tide, and a new mechanism is proposed. The study suggests that the tidally inducing mechanism of the upwelling in-cludes two dynamic aspects: the barotropic and the baroclinic process. On the one hand, the residual currents induced by barotropic tides converge near the seabed, and upwelling is generated to maintain mass conservation. The climbing of the residual currents along the sea bottom slope also contributes to the upwelling. On the other hand, tidal mixing plays a very important role in inducing the upwelling in the baroclinic sea circumstances. Strong tidal mixing leads to conspicuous front in the coastal waters. The considerable horizontal density gradient across the front elicits a secondary circulation clinging to the tidal front, and the upwelling branch appears near the frontal zone. Numerical experiments are de-signed to determine the importance of tide in inducing the upwelling. The results indicate that tide is a key and dominant inducement of the upwelling. | 13 | Effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with malignant tumor:a single-blinded,randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN), quality of life and immune status of patients with malignant tumors.METHODS:From Jan, 2013 to May, 2014, 37 patients with malignant tumors were included in this prospective single-blinded study, and randomized to receive either electroacupuncture or acupuncture treatment on basis of chemotherapy.The chemotherapy was continued for 2 courses as previous before the treatments, with 21 days as a course of treatment.Patients received acupuncture and electroacupuncture once per day starting at the day before chemotherapy for consecutive 7 days followed by 14 days off, with 21 days as a course of treatment, and continued for two courses of treatment.Then CIPN, traditional Chinese clinical symptoms,quality of life and immune status were all evaluated for each patient prior treatment and after two courses of treatment.RESULTS:The gender, age, cancer species as well as incidence(83.3% vs 84.2%) and grades of CIPN before treatments were all similar in patients receiving acupuncture or electroacupuncture(all P >0.05).After treatments, most patients with peripheral neuropathy were cured by two courses of electroacupuncture(84.2% vs 21.1%), whereas the other group of patients had similar incidences of peripheral neuropathy compared with prior-acupuncture(83.3% vs 72.2%).Besides, patients receiving electroacupuncture had lower incidence of peripheral neuropathy than those receiving acupuncture treatment(χ~2= 9.745, P = 0.002).The grades of peripheral neuropathy were significantly different in the two groups post-treatment(χ~2= 13.983, P =0.007).The total effective rates for traditional Chinese clinical symptoms were 16.7% and 84.2% in acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups, respectively(Z =-4.239, P < 0.001).The electroacupuncture treatment provided a more satisfactory life for patients compared with acupuncture(Z =-4.76, P < 0.001).Both electroacupuncture and acupuncture had no effects on immune function.CONCLUSION:Electroacupuncture could alleviate CIPN, and improve traditional Chinese clinical symptoms and quality of life, but did not affect immune function. | Zhang Shiqiang Wu Tingting Zhang Haisheng Yang Yun Jiang Haiyan Cao Shengcheng Xie Fang Xia Xiaoting Lü Junqiang Zhong Yi | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2: | 7 |

| 17 | QTL effects and epistatic interaction for flowering time and branch number in a soybean mapping population of Japanese×Chinese cultivars显示文摘Flowering time and branching type are important agronomic traits related to the adaptability and yield of soybean. Molecular bases for major flowering time or maturity loci, E1 to E4, have been identified. However, more flowering time genes in cultivars with different genetic backgrounds are needed to be mapped and cloned for a better understanding of flowering time regulation in soybean. In this study, we developed a population of Japanese cultivar(Toyomusume)×Chinese cultivar(Suinong 10) to map novel quantitative trait locus(QTL) for flowering time and branch number. A genetic linkage map of a F_2 population was constructed using 1 306 polymorphic single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) markers using Illumina Soy SNP8 ki Select Bead Chip containing 7 189(SNPs). Two major QTLs at E1 and E9, and two minor QTLs at a novel locus, qFT2_1 and at E3 region were mapped. Brown lesions randomly distributed on leaf blades were observed about 3 wk after sowing. The symptom lasted for the whole plant growth duration. Histochemical analysis indicated that cell death occurred in and around the site of necrotic lesions accompanied with accumulation of hydrogen hyperoxide. Agronomic traits were largely similar to the wild type IR64 except seed setting rate and 1 000-grain weight which were significantly decreased in the mutant. Disease resistance of the mutant to multiple races of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae was significantly enhanced. Genetic analysis showed that the mutation was controlled by a single recessive gene, tentatively termed splHM143. | 19 | Establishment and validation of a model for brain injury state evaluation and prognosis prediction显示文摘Purpose:Traumatic brain injury(TBI)is one of the leading causes of disability and death in modern times,whose evaluation and prognosis prediction have been one of the most critical issues in TBI management.However,the existed models for the abovementioned purposes were defective to varying degrees.This study aims to establish an ideal brain injury state clinical prediction model(BISCPM).Methods:This study was a retrospective design.The six-month outcomes of patients were selected as the end point event.BISCPM was established by using the split-sample technology,and externally validated via different tests of comparison between the observed and predicted six-month mortality in validating group.TBI patients admitted from July 2006 to June 2012 were recruited and randomly divided into establishing model group and validating model group.Twenty-one scoring indicators were included in BISCPM and divided into three parts,A,B,and C.Part A included movement,pupillary reflex and diameter,CT parameters,and secondary brain insult factors,etc.Part B was age and part C was medical history of the patients.The total score of part A,B and C was final score of BISCPM.Results:Altogether 1156 TBI patients were included with 578 cases in each group.The score of BISCPM from validating group ranged from 2.75 to 31.94,averaging 13.64±5.59.There was not statistical difference between observed and predicted mortality for validating group.The discrimination validation showed that the BISCPM is superior to international mission for prognosis and analysis of clinical trials(IMPACT)lab model.Conclusion:BISCPM is an effective model for state evaluation and prognosis prediction of TBI patients.The use of BISCPM could be of great significance for decision-making in management of TBI. | Xia Li Chao Lü Jun Wang Yi Wan Shu-Hui Dai Lei Zhang Xue-An Hu Xiao-Fan Jiang Zhou Fei | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Traumatology2020,23,5: | 3 |
| 20 | Evaluation of non-typical diffuse axonal injury by magnetic resonance techniques显示文摘Because diffuse axonal injury (DAI) lacks specific clinical manifestations, it is difficult to evaluate DAI using computer tomography or conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This study investigated the value of magnetic resonance techniques using fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) and proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1HMRS) for diagnosing DAI. The corpus callosum and basal nuclei were analyzed using morphological and functional imaging. Similar to the DAI group, the non-typical DAI group exhibited similar lesion characteristics on FLAIR, as well as post-injury neurochemical and molecular changes in the corpus callosum, as detected by 1HMRS. However, there were differences in degree and severity of injury. Compared to conventional MRI, FLAIR significantly increased lesion detection. 1HMRS determined biochemical metabolism changes in midline structures following DAI, which resulted in increased diagnosis of non-typical DAI, which displayed similar lesion distribution, morphology, and function as DAI.
