4Pre-Devonian tectonic evolution of the eastern South China Block:Geochronological evidence from detrital zircons显示文摘Using the U-Pb LA-ICP-MS analysis technique we analyzed geochronological features of detrital zircons from Devonian and Ordovician coarse sandstone in southern Jiangxi Province,northern Cathaysia Block.Abundant ancient crustal information was obtained.The 350 groups of U-Pb age center on five ranges:2600-2300 Ma(peak at 2470 Ma),1100-900 Ma(peak at 980 Ma),900-700 Ma(peak at 800 Ma),650-520 Ma(peak at 600 Ma) and 450-400 Ma(peak at 440 Ma).We also found a detrital zircon of ~3.5 Ga.This is the oldest age in northern Cathaysia Block obtained so far.From the analysis we concluded that:(1) the 2600-2300 Ma period,characterized by a global continent-building,records late Neoarchean magmatism that did not occur in the neighboring area of Cathaysia;(2) the marked peak at 1100-900 Ma corresponds with the assembly time of the Neoproterozoic supercontinent,Rodinia,suggesting that the Cathaysia Block was once a part of Rodinia,and numerous euhedral zircons with similar ages likely resulted from the Grenville event;(3) the peak at 900-700 Ma corresponds to the breakup of Rodinia,as evidenced by wide occurrence of Neoproterozoic granite,basic dyke swarms and continental rift-type deposition;(4) the 650-520 Ma period is the typical time of the Pan-African event,but as yet no associated magmatic rock has been reported in this area;and(5) the peak at 450-400 Ma,representing the early Paleozoic orogeny,was recorded in various igneous rocks.Abundant Silurian-Lower Devonian granitic plutons,orthogneisses and their zircon U-Pb dating ages(450-400 Ma) are important evidence of an early Paleozoic orogenic event.Geological data support the interpretation of an Early Paleozoic tectonic heat event in Cathaysia,which was likely to be caused by intracontinental collision.Lei Xiang LiangShu Shu 2010Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,10:26
5Three-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality model for TMDL development of Lake Fuxian,China显示文摘Lake Fuxian is the largest deep freshwater lake in China.Although its average water quality meets Class I of the China National Water Quality Standard(CNWQS),i.e.,GB3838-2002,monitoring data indicate that the water quality approaches the Class II threshold in some areas.Thus it is urgent to reduce the watershed load through the total maximum daily load(TMDL) program.A three-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality model was developed for Lake Fuxian,simulating flow circulation and pollutant fate and transport.The model development process consists of several steps,including grid generation,initial and boundary condition configurations,and model calibration processes.The model accurately reproduced the observed water surface elevation,spatiotemporal variations in temperature,and total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorus(TP),and chemical oxygen demand(COD) concentrations,suggesting a reasonable numerical representation of the prototype system for further TMDL analyses.The TMDL was calculated using two interpretations of the water quality standards for Class I of the CNWQS based on the maximum instantaneous surface and annual average surface water concentrations.Analysis of the first scenario indicated that the TN,TP and COD loads should be reduced by 66%,68% and 57%,respectively.Water quality was the highest priority;however,local economic development and cost feasibility for load reduction can pose significant issues.In the second interpretation,the model results showed that,under the existing conditions,the average water quality meets the Class I standard and therefore load reduction is unnecessary.Future studies are needed to conduct risk and cost assessments for realistic decision-making.Lei Zhao Xiaoling Zhang Yong Liu Bin He Xiang Zhu Rui Zou Yuanguan Zhu 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8:25
6Oxidative stress in granulosa cells contributes to poor oocytequality and IVF-ET outcomes in women with polycystic ovarysyndrome显示文摘The increased levels of intraceHular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in granulosa cells (GCs) may allectthe pregnancy results in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In this study, we compared the in vitrofertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) results of 22 patients with PCOS and 25 patients with tubal factorinfertility and detected the ROS levels in the GCs of these two groups. Results showed that the PCOS group hadsignificantly larger follicles on the administration day for human chorionic gonadotropin than the tubal factorgroup (P 〈 0.05); however, the number of retrieved oocytes was not significantly different between the two groups(P 〉 0.05). PCOS group had slightly lower fertilization, cleavage, grade IflI embryo, clinical pregnancy, andimplantation rates and higher miscarriage rate than the tubal factor group (P 〉 0.05). We further found asignificantly higher ROS level of GCs in the PCOS group than in the tubal factor group (P 〈 0.05). The increasedROS levels in GCs caused GC apoptosis, whereas NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) specific inhibitors (diphenyleneio-donium and apocynin) significantly reduced the ROS production in the PCOS group. In conclusion, the increasedROS expression levels in PCOS GCs greatly induced cell apoptosis, which further affected the oocyte quality andreduced the positive IVF-ET pregnancy results of women with PCOS. 7Deep Learning in Medical Ultrasound Analysis: A Review显示文摘Ultrasound (US) has become one of the most commonly performed imaging modalities in clinical practice. It is a rapidly evolving technology with certain advantages and with unique challenges that include low imaging quality and high variability. From the perspective of image analysis, it is essential to develop advanced automatic US image analysis methods to assist in US diagnosis and/or to make such assessment more objective and accurate. Deep learning has recently emerged as the leading machine learning tool in various research fields, and especially in general imaging analysis and computer vision. Deep learning also shows huge potential for various automatic US image analysis tasks. This review first briefly introduces several popular deep learning architectures, and then summarizes and thoroughly discusses their applications in various specific tasks in US image analysis, such as classification, detection, and segmentation. 8Effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca^(2+)-ATPase mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of Chaiqinchengqi decoction (CQCQD) on sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) mRNA expression of pancreatic tissues in acute pancreatitis (AP) rats. METHODS: Thirty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomized into control group, AP group and CQCQD group (n = 3 × 10). The rats in the CQCQD group were intragastrically administered with CQCQD (10 mL/kg every 2 h) after induction of AP by intraperitoneal injection of caerulein (50 μg/kg.h × 5) within 4 h. At 6 h after the induction of AP model, pancreatic tissues were collected for the pathological observation, mRNA extraction for determination of SERCA1 and SERCA2 mRNA expression or pancreatic acinar cell isolation for measurement of fluorescence intensity (FI) of intracellular calcium ion concentration [Ca2+]i. RESULTS: There was no expression of pancreatic SERCA1 mRNA in the control group and the AP group. The expression of pancreatic SERCA2 mRNA in the AP group was down-regulated (expression ratio = 0.536; P = 0.001) compared with the control group, while that in the CQCQD group was up-regulated (expression ratio= 2.00; P = 0.012) compared with AP group. The FI of intracellular [Ca2+] of pancreatic acinar cells in the AP group (138.2 ± 23.1) was higher than the C group (111.0 ± 18.4) and the CQCQD group (118.7 ± 15.2 ) (P < 0.05) and the pancreatic pathological score in the CQCQD group was lower than that in the AP group (5.7 ± 1.9 vs 9.2 ± 2.7, P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: CQCQD can up-regulate the expression of SERCA2 mRNA of pancreatic tissues, reduce intracellular calcium overload and relieve pancreatic tissue lesions.Ping Xue Li-Hui Deng Zhao-Da Zhang Xiao-Nan Yang Qing Xia Da-Kai Xiang Lei Huang Mei-Hua Wan 2008World Journal of Gastroenterology2008,14,15:20
9Clinical trial with traditional Chinese medicine intervention ''tonifying the kidney to promote liver regeneration and repair by affecting stem cells and their microenvironment'' for chronic hepatitis B-associated liver failure显示文摘AIM:To study the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)intervention'tonifying the kidney to promote liver regeneration and repair by affecting stem cells and their microenvironment'('TTK')for treating liver failure due to chronic hepatitis B.METHODS:We designed the study as a randomized controlled clinical trial.Registration number of Chinese Clinical Trial Registry is Chi CTR-TRC-12002961.A total of 144 patients with liver failure due to infection with chronic hepatitis B virus were enrolled in this randomized controlled clinical study.Participants were randomly assigned to the following three groups:(1)a modern medicine control group(MMC group,36patients);(2)a'tonifying qi and detoxification'('TQD')group(72 patients);and(3)a'tonifying the kidney to promote liver regeneration and repair by affecting stem cells and their microenvironment'('TTK')group(36patients).Patients in the MMC group received general internal medicine treatment;patients in the'TQD'group were given a TCM formula'tonifying qi and detoxification'and general internal medicine treatment;patients in the'TTK'group were given a TCM formula of'TTK'and general internal medicine treatment.All participants were treated for 8 wk and then followed at 48 wk following their final treatment.The primaryefficacy end point was the patient fatality rate in each group.Measurements of various virological and biochemical indicators served as secondary endpoints.The one-way analysis of variance and the t-test were used to compare patient outcomes in the different treatment groups.RESULTS:At the 48-wk post-treatment time point,the patient fatality rates in the MMC,'TQD',and'TTK'groups were 51.61%,35.38%,and 16.67%,respectively,and the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in the levels of hepatitis B virus DNA or prothrombin activity among the three groups(P>0.05).Patients in the'TTK'group had significantly higher levels of serum total bilirubin compared to MMC subjects(339.40μmol/L±270.09μmol/L vs 176.13μmol/L±185.70μmol/L,P=0.014).Serum albumin levels were significantly increased in both the'TQD'group and'TTK'group as compared with the MMC group(31.30 g/L±4.77g/L,30.72 g/L±2.89 g/L vs 28.57 g/L±4.56 g/L,P<0.05).There were no significant differences in levels of alanine transaminase among the three groups(P>0.05).Safety data showed that there was one case of stomachache in the'TQD'group and one case of gastrointestinal side effect in the'TTK'group.CONCLUSION:Treatment with'TTK'improved the survival rates of patients with liver failure due to chronic hepatitis B.Additionally,liver tissue was regenerated and liver function was restored.Han-Min Li Zhi-Hua Ye Jun Zhang Xiang Gao Yan-Ming Chen Xin Yao Jian-Xun Gu Lei Zhan Yang Ji Jian-Liang Xu Ying-He Zeng Fan Yang Lin Xiao Guo-Guang Sheng Wei Xin Qi Long Qing-Jing Zhu Zhao-Hong Shi Lian-Guo Ruan Jia-Yao Yang Chang-Chun Li Hong-Bin Wu Sheng-Duo Chen Xin-La Luo 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,48:20
10Soil contamination with antibiotics in a typical peri-urban area in eastern China: Seasonal variation, risk assessment, and microbial responses显示文摘The prevalence and persistence of antibiotics in soils has become an emerging environmental issue and an increasing threat to soil security and global public health. The problem is more severe in areas undergoing rapid urbanization; however, the ecological risks of antibiotics,seasonal variability, and associated soil microbial responses in peri-urban soils have not been well-explored. The seasonal soil sampling campaigns were conducted in a typical peri-urban watershed in eastern China to investigate distribution of antibiotics. The results demonstrated higher mean concentrations of most antibiotic compounds in winter than in summer in periurban soils. The seasonal variations of norfloxacin, enrofloxacin, and ciprofloxacin were more significant than those of other antibiotics, due to their higher migration ability and bioavailability.An ecological risk assessment demonstrated that chlortetracycline, ciprofloxacin, doxycycline,and ofloxacin can pose high risks to soil microorganisms. Furthermore, the coexistence of multiple antibiotics obviously poses higher risks than individual compounds. A redundancy analysis demonstrated that tetracyclines mainly showed negative correlations with Firmicutes and Chloroflexi, and quinolones showed obviously negative correlations with Acidobacteria,Gemmatimonadetes, and Nitrospirae, suggesting potential inhibition from antibiotics on biological activities or biodegradation processes. However, the persistence of antibiotics in soil results in a significant decrease in bacterial diversity and a change in dominant species.Our results provide an overview of the seasonal variability of antibiotics and the associated effects on bacterial communities in peri-urban soils. 11Silicon intensity Mach–Zehnder modulator for single lane 100 Gb/s applications显示文摘In this paper, a substrate removing technique in a silicon Mach–Zehnder modulator(MZM) is proposed and demonstrated to improve modulation bandwidth. Based on the novel and optimized traveling wave electrodes,the electrode transmission loss is reduced, and the electro-optical group index and 50 Ω impedance matching are improved, simultaneously. A 2 mm long substrate removed silicon MZM with the measured and extrapolated 3 dB electro-optical bandwidth of >50 GHz and 60 GHz at the-8 V bias voltage is designed and fabricated.Open optical eye diagrams of up to 90 GBaud∕s NRZ and 56 GBaud∕s four-level pulse amplitude modulation(PAM-4) are experimentally obtained without additional optical or digital compensations. Based on this silicon MZM, the performance in a short-reach transmission system is further investigated. 13High porosity and low thermal conductivity high entropy(Zr0.2Hf0.2Ti0.2Nb0.2Ta0.2C显示文摘Porous ultra-high temperature ceramics(UHTCs)are promising for ultrahigh-temperature thermal insulation applications.However,the main limitations for their applications are the high thermal conductivity and densification of porous structure at high temperatures.In order to overcome these obstacles,herein,porous high entropy(Zr(0.2)Hf(0.2)Ti(0.2)Nb(0.2)Ta(0.2))C was prepared by a simple method combing in-situ reaction and partial sintering.Porous high entropy(Zr(0.2)Hf(0.2)Ti(0.2)Nb(0.2)Ta(0.2))C possesses homogeneous microstructure with grain size in the range of 100–500 nm and pore size in the range of 0.2–1μm,which exhibits high porosity of 80.99%,high compressive strength of 3.45 MPa,low room temperature thermal conductivity of 0.39 W·m^-1K^-1,low thermal diffusivity of 0.74 mm^2·s^-1and good high temperature stability.The combination of these properties renders porous high entropy(Zr(0.2)Hf(0.2)Ti(0.2)Nb(0.2)Ta(0.2))Cpromising as light-weight ultrahigh temperature thermal insulation materials.Heng Chen Huimin Xiang Fu-Zhi Dai Jiachen Liu Yiming Lei Jie Zhang Yanchun Zhou 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,8:16

15Prognosis-related classifi cation and dynamic monitoring of immune status in patients with sepsis:A prospective observational study显示文摘BACKGROUND:The dynamic monitoring of immune status is crucial to the precise and individualized treatment of sepsis.In this study,we aim to introduce a model to describe and monitor the immune status of sepsis and to explore its prognostic value.METHODS:A prospective observational study was carried out in Zhongshan Hospital,Fudan University,enrolling septic patients admitted between July 2016 and December 2018.Blood samples were collected at days 1 and 3.Serum cytokine levels(e.g.,tumor necrosis factor-α[TNF-α],interleukin-10[IL-10])and CD14+monocyte human leukocyte antigen-D-related(HLA-DR)expression were measured to serve as immune markers.Classifi cation of each immune status,namely systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS),compensatory anti-inflammatory response syndrome(CARS),and mixed antagonistic response syndrome(MARS),was defined based on levels of immune markers.Changes of immune status were classifi ed into four groups which were stabilization(SB),deterioration(DT),remission(RM),and non-remission(NR).RESULTS:A total of 174 septic patients were enrolled including 50 non-survivors.Multivariate analysis discovered that IL-10 and HLA-DR expression levels at day 3 were independent prognostic factors.Patients with MARS had the highest mortality rate.Immune status of 46.1%patients changed from day 1 to day 3.Among four groups of immune status changes,DT had the highest mortality rate,followed by NR,RM,and SB with mortality rates of 64.7%,42.9%,and 11.2%,respectively.CONCLUSIONS:Severe immune disorder defi ned as MARS or deterioration of immune status defi ned as DT lead to the worst outcomes.The preliminary model of the classifi cation and dynamic monitoring of immune status based on immune markers has prognostic values and is worthy of further investigation.Jun Yin Yao Chen Jun-ling Huang Lei Yan Zhong-shu Kuang Ming-ming Xue Si Sun Hao Xiang Yan-yan Hu Zhi-min Dong Chao-yang Tong Chun-xue Bai Zhen-ju Song 2021World Journal of Emergency Medicine2021,12,3:16
16A Deep Learning Based Energy-Efficient Computational Offloading Method in Internet of Vehicles显示文摘With the emergence of advanced vehicular applications, the challenge of satisfying computational and communication demands of vehicles has become increasingly prominent. Fog computing is a potential solution to improve advanced vehicular services by enabling computational offloading at the edge of network. In this paper, we propose a fog-cloud computational offloading algorithm in Internet of Vehicles(IoV) to both minimize the power consumption of vehicles and that of the computational facilities. First, we establish the system model, and then formulate the offloading problem as an optimization problem, which is NP-hard. After that, we propose a heuristic algorithm to solve the offloading problem gradually. Specifically, we design a predictive combination transmission mode for vehicles, and establish a deep learning model for computational facilities to obtain the optimal workload allocation. 18Health-related quality of life in gastroesophageal reflux patients with noncardiac chest pain: Emphasis on the role of psychological distress显示文摘AIM To investigate the effects of depression and anxiety on health-related quality of life(QoL)in gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)patients and those suffering from cardiac(CCP)and noncardiac(NCCP)chest pain in Wuhan,China.METHODS In this cross-sectional study,a total of 358 consecutive patients with GERD were enrolled in Wuhan,China,of which 176 subjects had complaints of chest pain.Those with chest pain underwent coronary angiography and were divided into a CCP group(52 cases)and NCCP group(124 cases).Validated GERD questionnaires were completed,and the 36-item Short-Form Health Survey and Hospital Anxiety/Depression Scale were used for evaluation of Qo L and psychological symptoms,respectively.RESULTS There were similar ratios and levels of depression and anxiety in GERD with NCCP and CCP.However,the QoL was obviously lower in GERD with CCP than NCCP(48.34±17.68 vs 60.21±20.27,P<0.01).In the GERD-NCCP group,rather than the GERD-CCP group,the physical and mental QoL were much poorer in subjects with depression and/or anxiety than those without anxiety or depression.Anxiety and depression had strong negative correlations with both physical and mental health in GERD-NCCP(all P<0.01),but only a weak relationship with mental components of QoL in GERD-CCP.CONCLUSION High levels of anxiety and depression may be more related to the poorer QoL in GERD patients with NCCP than those with CCP.This highlights the importance of evaluation and management of psychological impact for improving QoL in GERD-NCCP patients.Lei Zhang Lei Tu Jie Chen Jun Song Tao Bai Xue-Lian Xiang Rui-Yun Wang Xiao-Hua Hou 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,1:14
19Hepatic non-parenchymal cells and extracellular matrix participate in oval cell-mediated liver regeneration显示文摘AIM: To elucidate the interaction between nonparenchymal cells, extracellular matrix and oval cells during the restituting process of liver injury induced by partial hepatectomy (PH). METHODS: We examined the localization of oval cells, non-parenchymal cells, and the extracellular matrix components using immunohistochemical and double immunofluorescent analysis during the proliferation and differentiation of oval cells in N-2acetylaminofluorene (2-AAF)/PH rat model. RESULTS: By day 2 after PH, small oval cells began to proliferate around the portal area. Most of stellate cells and laminin were present along the hepatic sinusoids in the periportal area. Kupffer cells and fibronectin markedly increased in the whole hepatic lobule. From day 4 to 9, oval cells spread further into hepatic parenchyma, closely associated with stellate cells, fibronectin and laminin. Kupffer cells admixed with oval cells by day 6 and then decreased in the periportal zone. From day 12 to 15, most of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), laminin and fibronectin located around the small hepatocyte nodus, and minority of them appeared in the nodus. Kupffer cells were mainly limited in the pericentral sinusoids. 20Simultaneous virus identification and characterization of severe unexplained pneumonia cases using a metagenomics sequencing technique显示文摘Many viruses can cause respiratory diseases in humans.Although great advances have been achieved in methods of diagnosis,it remains challenging to identify pathogens in unexplained pneumonia(UP) cases.In this study,we applied next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology and a metagenomic approach to detect and characterize respiratory viruses in UP cases from Guizhou Province,China.A total of 33 oropharyngeal swabs were obtained from hospitalized UP patients and subjected to NGS.An unbiased metagenomic analysis pipeline identified 13 virus species in 16 samples.Human rhinovirus C was the virus most frequently detected and was identified in seven samples.Human measles virus,adenovirus B 55 and coxsackievirus A10 were also identified.Metagenomic sequencing also provided virus genomic sequences,which enabled genotype characterization and phylogenetic analysis.For cases of multiple infection,metagenomic sequencing afforded information regarding the quantity of each virus in the sample,which could be used to evaluate each viruses' role in the disease.Our study highlights the potential of metagenomic sequencing for pathogen identification in UP cases.Xiaohui Zou Guangpeng Tang Xiang Zhao Yan Huang Tao Chen Mingyu Lei Wenbing Chen Lei Yang Wenfei Zhu Li Zhuang Jing Yang Zhaomin Feng Dayan Wang Dingming Wang Yuelong Shu 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,3:14
