On the horizon of Protopteryx and the early vertebrate fossil assemblages of the Jehol Biota显示文摘Protopteryx, a monotypic fossil bird discovered from the Sichakou basin in Fengning, Hebei, is the most primitive enantiornithine currently known. The bird-bearing strata do not contain the index fossils of the Yixian Formation in western Liaoning; the fish and bird fossils have more primitive features than the related forms found in the Yixian Formation, and the conchostracans are those usually distributed in the Dabeigou and Dadianzi formations in northern Hebei. Besides, the Protopteryx-bearing strata underlie the deposits bearing the index fossils of the Yixian Formation in the neighboring basin. Thus, it could be confirmed that the horizon of Protopteryx should be lower than the Yixian Formation, and is approximately equivalent to the Dadianzi Formation in northern Hebei. This is the lowest horizon of the known fossil birds in China and Mesozoic enantiornithine birds in the world. Accompanying Protop- teryx, there are other birds, acipenseriform fishes, salamanders, and mammals, which compose the Peipiaosteus fengningensis-Protopteryx fengningensis assemblage. This new assemblage traces the vertebrate evolution history of the Jehol Biota back to 130.7 Ma before. It is suggested that the de- marcation of the Jehol Biota should be based on the large-scale tectonic-sedimentary cycles, and Peipiaosteus, instead of Lycoptera, could be taken as the vertebrate representative of the Jehol Biota. | JIN Fan ZHANG FuCheng LI ZhiHeng ZHANG JiangYong LI Chun ZHOU ZhongHe | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,18: | 5
Fine relocation, mechanism, and tectonic indications of middle-small earthquakes in the Central Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The medium-small earthquakes that occurred in the middle part of Tibetan Plateau(32°N–36°N, 90°E–93°E) from August 2016 to June 2017 were relocated using the absolute earthquake location method Hypo2000. Compared to the reports of Chinese Seismological Networks, our relocation results are more clustered on the whole, the horizontal location differences exceed 10 km, and the focal depths are concentrated in 0–8 km, which indicates that the upper crust inside the Tibetan Plateau is tectonically active. In June2017 altogether eight earthquakes above magnitude 3.0 took place; their relocated epicenters are concentrated around Gêladaindong. The relocation results of M<3.0 small earthquakes also showed obvious differences. Therefore, we used the CAP method to invert for the focal mechanisms of the M ≥3.0 earthquakes; results generally tally with the surface geological structures, indicating that the Tibetan Plateau is still under the strong compressional force from the India Plate. Among them the eight earthquakes that occurred near Gêladaindong in June 2017 are all of normal fault type or with some strike-slip at the same time; based on previous research results we conjecture that these events are intense shallow crust responses to deep crust-mantle activities. | YuLan Li BaoShan Wang RiZheng He HongWei Zheng JiangYong Yan Yao Li | 2018 | Earth and Planetary Physics2018,2,5: | 4

Layered Mg-Al spinel supported Ce-Fe-Zr-O oxygen carriers for chemical looping reforming显示文摘A series of layered Mg-Al spinel supported Ce-Fe-Zr-O oxygen carriers were prepared for co-production of syngas and pure hydrogen via chemical looping steam reforming(CLSR).The presence of magnesium-aluminum layered double oxides(Mg Al-LDO)significantly increases the specific surface area of the mixed oxides, reduces the particle size of CeO2-based solid solution and promotes the dispersion of free Fe2O3.When reacting with methane,Mg Al-LDO supported oxygen carrier shows much lower temperature for methane oxidation than the pure CeFe-Zr-O sample, indicating enhanced low-temperature reactivity.Among different Ce-Fe-Zr-O(x)/Mg Al-LDO samples, the Ce-Fe-Zr-O(40 wt%)/Mg Al-LDO sample shows the best performance for the selective oxidation of methane to syngas and the H2 production by water splitting. After a long period of high temperature redox experiment, the Ce-Fe-Zr-O(40 wt%)/Mg Al-LDO oxygen carrier still shows high activity for syngas generation. The comparison on the morphology of the fresh and cycled oxygen carriers indicates that the Mg-Al spinel support still forms a stable skeleton structure with high dispersion of active components on the surface after the long-term cycling, which contributes to excellent redox stability of the Ce-Fe-Zr-O(40 wt%)/Mg Al-LDO oxygen carrier. | Jiangyong Yuan Yannan Zhao Haiwen Xu Chunqiang Lu Kun Yang Xing Zhu Kongzhai Li | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,10: | 1

The CXCR4-CXCL12 axis promotes T cell reconstitution via efficient hematopoietic immigration显示文摘T cells play a critical role in immunity to protect against pathogens and malignant cells.T cell immunodeficiency is detrimental, especially when T cell perturbation occurs during severe infection, irradiation, chemotherapy, and age-related thymic atrophy. Therefore, strategies that enhance T cell reconstitution provide considerable benefit and warrant intensive investigation. Here,we report the construction of a T cell ablation model in Tg(coro1a:Den NTR)zebrafish via metronidazole administration. The nascent T cells are mainly derived from the hematopoietic cells migrated from the kidney, the functional homolog of bone marrow and the complete recovery time is 6.5 days post-treatment.The cxcr4b gene is upregulated in the responsive hematopoietic cells.Functional interference of CXCR4 via both genetic and chemical manipulations does not greatly affect T lymphopoiesis, but delays T cell regeneration by disrupting hematopoietic migration. In contrast,cxcr4b accelerates the replenishment of hematopoietic cells in the thymus.Consistently,Cxcl12b,a ligand of Cxcr4,is increased in the thymic epithelial cells of the injured animals.Decreased or increased expression of Cxcl12b results in compromised or accelerated T cell recovery, respectively, similar to those observed with Cxcr4b.Taken together, our study reveals a role of CXCR4-CXCL12 signaling in promoting T cell recovery and provides a promising target for the treatment of immunodeficiency due to T cell injury. | Fangying Zhao Yafang Lu Zhifan Li Jiangyong He Nianfei Cui Lingfei Luo Li Li | 2022 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,12: | 1

Controlled growth of ZnO nanorods by polymer template and their photoluminescence properties显示文摘A large amount of one-dimensional ZnO nanorods with diameters in 15―50 nm aligned in radial cluster were successfully synthesized by polar polymer polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as soft-template. The growth of ZnO nanorods was controlled by changing annealing temperature. The evolution of the morphology and microstructure was investigated by scanning electron microscope, transmission electron micro- scope and X-ray diffraction. It is shown that ZnO nanorods tend to be uniform and the crystallization is gradually improved with the temperature increasing from 400℃ to 700℃. The photoluminescence spectra of products show a strong ultra violet emission and relatively weak defect emissions. The sharp strong emission peak at 354 nm owing to the inter-band transition indicates the extraordinary photoluminescence property of ZnO nanorods. | LI JiangYong LI Lan XU JianPing ZHANG XiaoSong LI HaiYan ZHUANG JinYan | 2009 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,4: | 1

Alterations in immune cell heterogeneities in the brain of aged zebrafish using single-cell resolution显示文摘Immunocytes, including the microglia, are crucial in the neurodegenerative process in old people. However, the understanding regarding microglia heterogeneity and other involved immunocytes remains elusive. We analyzed 26,456 immunocytes from 12-and 26-month-old zebrafish brains at single-cell resolution.Microglia and T lymphocytes were detected in the brain at both time points. Two types of microglia were annotated, namely,ac+microglia and xr+microglia, which were clustered into subsets 1,2,3,4,5,and subsets 6,7,8,9,respectively.Diversified microglia predominated the adult brains and cooperated with T cells to perform the functions of immune response and neuronal nutrition. We validated the specific microglia markers. The novel transgenic lines,Tg(lgals3bpb:e GFP)and Tg(apoc1:e GFP),were created, which faithfully labeled ac+microglia and served as valuable labeling tools. However, the microglia population reduced while T cells of six subtypes intriguingly increased to serve as the primary immune cells in aged brains.Unlike in 12-month-old brains,T cells, together with microglia, exhibited a coordinated signature of inflammation in the 26-month-old brains. Our findings revealed the immunocytes atlas in aged zebrafish brains. It implied the involvement of microglia and T cells in the progression of neurodegeneration in aging. | Jiangyong He Fangying Zhao Bingyue Chen Nianfei Cui Zhifan Li Jie Qin Lingfei Luo Congjian Zhao Li Li | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,6: | 0
Investigation of experimental observables in search of the chiral magnetic effect in heavy-ion collisions in the STAR experiment显示文摘The chiral magnetic effect(CME)is a novel transport phenomenon, arising from the interplay between quantum anomalies and strong magnetic fields in chiral systems. In high-energy nuclear collisions, the CME may survive the expansion of the quark-gluon plasma fireball and be detected in experiments.Over the past two decades, experimental searches for the CME have attracted extensive interest at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC)and the Large Hadron Collider(LHC).The main goal of this study is to investigate three pertinent experimental approaches:the$\gamma$correlator,the R correlator, and the signed balance functions. We exploit simple Monte Carlo simulations and a realistic event generator(EBE-AVFD)to verify the equivalence of the core components among these methods and to ascertain their sensitivities to the CME signal and the background contributions for the isobar collisions at the RHIC.
FREPD: A Robust Federated Learning Framework on Variational Autoencoder显示文摘Federated learning is an ideal solution to the limitation of not preser-ving the users’privacy information in edge computing. In federated learning, the cloud aggregates local model updates from the devices to generate a global model. To protect devices’privacy, the cloud is designed to have no visibility into how these updates are generated, making detecting and defending malicious model updates a challenging task.Unlike existing works that struggle to tolerate adversarial attacks, the paper manages to exclude malicious updates from the glo-bal model’s aggregation. This paper focuses on Byzantine attack and backdoor attack in the federated learning setting. We propose a federated learning frame-work,which we call Federated Reconstruction Error Probability Distribution(FREPD).FREPD uses a VAE model to compute updates’reconstruction errors.Updates with higher reconstruction errors than the average reconstruction error are deemed as malicious updates and removed.Meanwhile,we apply the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to choose a proper probability distribution function and tune its parameters to fit the distribution of reconstruction errors from observed benign updates. We then use the distribution function to estimate the probability that an unseen reconstruction error belongs to the benign reconstruction error distribution.Based on the probability,we classify the model updates as benign or malicious.Only benign updates are used to aggregate the global model.FREPD is tested with extensive experiments on independent and identically distributed(IID)and non-IID federated benchmarks, showing a competitive performance over existing aggregation methods under Byzantine attack and backdoor attack. | Zhipin Gu Liangzhong He Peiyan Li Peng Sun Jiangyong Shi Yuexiang Yang | 2021 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2021,39,12: | 0
HSFAS mediates fibroblast proliferation, migration, trans-differentiation and apoptosis in hypertrophic scars via interacting with ADAMTS8显示文摘Hypertrophic scar(HS)is one of the most common sequelae of patients, especially after burns and trauma. The roles of regulatory long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)in mediating HS remain underexplored.Human hypertrophic scarderived fibroblasts(HSFBs)have been shown to exert more potent promoting effects on extracellular matrix(ECM)accumulation than normal skin-derived fibroblasts(NSFBs)and are associated with enhanced HS formation. The purpose of this study is to search for lncRNAs enriched in HSFBs and investigate their roles and mechanisms.LncRNA MSTRG.59347.16 is one of the most highly expressed lncRNAs in HS detected by lncRNA-seq and qRT-PCR and named as hypertrophic scar fibroblast-associated lncRNA(HSFAS).HSFAS overexpression significantly induces fibroblast proliferation, migration, and myofibroblast trans-differentiation and inhibits apoptosis in HSFBs,while knockdown of HSFAS results in augmented apoptosis and attenuated proliferation, migration, and myofibroblast trans-differentiation of HSFBs.Mechanistically,HSFAS suppresses the expression of A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 8(ADAMTS8).ADAMTS8 knockdown rescues downregulated HSFAS-mediated fibroblast proliferation, migration, myofibroblast trans-differentiation and apoptosis. Thus, our findings uncover a previously unknown lncRNA-dependent regulatory pathway for fibroblast function.Targeted intervention in the HSFAS-ADAMTS8 pathway is a potential therapy for HS. | Fang Ma Honglin Liu Tongtong Xia Zhenghao Zhang Shengchao Ma Yinju Hao Jiangyong Shen Yideng Jiang Nan Li | 2024 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,3: | 0
Gene characterization and phylogenetic analysis of four mitochondrial genomes in Caenogastropoda显示文摘Caenogastropoda is a highly diverse group,containing~60%of all existing gastropods.Species in this subclass predominantly inhabit marine environments and have a high ecological and economic value.Owing to the increase in relevant phylogenetic studies, our understanding of between species relatedness in Caenogastropoda has improved. However, the biodiversity, taxonomic status, and phylogenetic relationships of this group remain unclear. In the present study,we performed next-generation sequencing of four complete mitochondrial genomes from three families(Buccinidae,Columbellidae, and Cypraeidae)and the four mitogenomes were classical circular structures, with a length of 16177 bp in Volutharpa ampullacea,16244 bp in Mitrella albuginosa,16926bp in Mauritia arabica asiatica and 15422 bp in Erronea errones.Base composition analysis indicated that whole sequences were biased toward A and T.Then compared them with 171 complete mitochondrial genomes of Caenogastropoda. The phylogenetic relationship of Caenogastropoda derived from Maximum Likelihood(ML)and Bayesian Inference(BI)trees constructed based on CDS sequences was consistent with the results of traditional morphological analysis, with all three families showing close relationships. This study supported Caenogastropoda at the molecular level as a separate clade of Mollusca.According to our divergence time estimations,Caenogastropoda was formed during the middle Triassic period(~247.2–237 Ma).Our novel mitochondrial genomes provide evidence for the speciation of Caenogastropoda in addition to elucidating the mitochondrial genomic evolution of this subclass. | Jiangyong Qu Wanqi Yang Xindong Teng Li Xu Dachuan Zhang Zhikai Xing Shuang Wang Xiumei Liu Lijun Wang Xumin Wang | 2024 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2024,43,2: | 0
