| 1 | Influence of puerarin,paeoniflorin,and menthol on structure and barrier function of tight junctions in MDCK and MDCK-MDR1 Cells显示文摘Objective:In this study,the influence of puerarin,paeoniflorin,and menthol on the structure and barrier function of tight junctions(TJs)in MadineDarby canine kidney epithelial(MDCK)and MDCK-multi-drug resistance 1(MDR1)cells was evaluated to determine the mechanisms by which the drugs cross the bloodebrain barrier(BBB).Method:Cells were treated with puerarin,paeoniflorin,and menthol followed by immunohistochemical staining with occludin,claudin-1,and F-actin.The cells were then observed using laser-scanning confocal microscopy.Average optical density(AOD)of the immunofluorescence images of the proteins were analyzed using ImageJ software while Transepithelial electrical resistance(TEER)was measured using an epithelial voltohmmeter.Results:Confocal microscopy revealed that puerarin-and paeoniflorin-treated tight junction proteins were conspicuous while menthol suppressed their expression.Correspondingly,AOD values of cells treated with puerarin or paeoniflorin,or both showed no difference compared to the control group(P>.05)while the menthol group value was downregulated.In 3 h,TEER of cells not treated with menthol were similar to the control group,while treatment with menthol significantly decreased TEER value(P<.05).In addition,application of menthol decreased TEER in MDCK cells earlier than in MDCK-MDR1 cells.Conclusion:Menthol but not puerarin and paeoniflorin may enhance paracellular transport and improve drug penetration of the BBB by disrupting the structure and,thereby,weakening the barrier function of TJs. | Lin Zhang Shouying Du Yang Lu Chang Liu Huichao Wu Bing Yang Jie Bai Pengyue Li | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2015,2,2: | 4 |
| 2 | Comparison of pharmacokinetics of different oral Panax notoginseng saponins using ultra-high performance liquid mass spectrometry显示文摘Objective:To discuss and compare the plasma pharmacokinetics after three oral Panax notoginseng saponin(PNS)administrations in beagle dogs.PNS is the main active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)Panax notoginseng.Although its outstanding therapeutic efficacy has been demonstrated by various researchers,its broader application is restricted by the low bioavailability of PNS.Methods:An ultra-high performance liquid chromatographyetandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS)method for the simultaneous quantification of notoginsenoside R1,ginsenoside Rg1,ginsenoside Rb1,ginsenoside Rd,and ginsenoside Re in beagle dog plasma was developed and validated.The plasma samples were subjected to liquideliquid extraction with acetone and methanol,and separated on an ACQUITY C18 column(100×2.1 mm ID,1.7 mm)using acetonitrile and water as the mobile phase with a run time of 4.5 min.Results:The analytes were detected without interference in Selected Reaction Monitoring mode with positive electrospray ionization.The validated method was successfully used in comparative pharmacokinetic studies of the five saponins in beagle dogs after oral administration of three PNS preparations.Blood samples were collected up to 192 h after administration and pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated using DAS 3.20 and SPSS 17.0.The AUC_(0-t)values of Re and R1 were significantly higher in soft capsules than in hard capsules.However,the AUC_(0-t)values between hard and soft capsules were not significantly different for the other three componentsdRb1,Rd and Rg1.Conclusion:Our intuitive analysis suggests that the bioavailability of PNS in soft capsules is greater than in hard capsules. | Huichao Wu Huimin Liu Shouyin Du Jie Bai Yang Lu Lin Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,1: | 2 |

| 4 | Direct characterization of coherence of quantum detectors by sequential measurements显示文摘The quantum properties of quantum measurements are indispensable resources in quantum information processing and have drawn extensive research interest.The conventional approach to revealing quantum properties relies on the reconstruction of entire measurement operators by quantum detector tomography.However,many specific properties can be determined by a part of the matrix components of the measurement operators,which makes it possible to simplify the characterization process.We propose a general framework to directly obtain individual matrix elements of the measurement operators by sequentially measuring two noncompatible observables.This method allows us to circumvent the complete tomography of the quantum measurement and extract the required information.We experimentally implement this scheme to monitor the coherent evolution of a general quantum measurement by determining the off-diagonal matrix elements.The investigation of the measurement precision indicates the good feasibility of our protocol for arbitrary quantum measurements.Our results pave the way for revealing the quantum properties of quantum measurements by selectively determining the matrix components of the measurement operators. | Liang Xu Huichao Xu Jie Xie Hui Li Lin Zhou Feixiang Xu Lijian Zhang | 2021 | Advanced Photonics2021,3,6: | 0 |

| 6 | Skin mimicking-sweating evaporation polyimide cooling film for electronic devices显示文摘In hot environments,the human body shows an efficient capability to maintain a stable temperature by benefiting from sweating behavior.Inspired by this skin perspiration strategy,in this study,we demonstrated an innovative polyimide foam(PIF)-based mimetic skin with excellent cooling capability by integrating a silver coating and reusable hydrogel for the first time.Because of the hybrid thermal dissipating system,the successive silver coating quickly transferred heat to the inside of the polyacrylamide hydrogel.Meanwhile,the hydrogel absorbed a large amount of heat due to its large enthalpy and effectively dissipated heat to the environment through the evaporation of moisture,similar to the sweating of skin.Thus,the temperature of the skin-like film was reduced by 25.4℃compared with pure PIF under a high-power laser heating source.Identical and remarkable cooling effects were also obtained in mobile phone and battery applications,far better than commercially available thermally conductive polyimide(PI).This outstanding performance paves a new way for the thermal management application of PI in wearable electronics,microprocessors,and flexible electronics. | JIANG Miao XIAO Chao HE XuSheng DU HuiChao WANG YanYan DING Xin ZHANG Xian LI XiaoFei ZHENG Kang LIU XiangLan CHEN Lin TIAN XingYou | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,10: | 0 |
