| 1 | A hydrocarbon enrichment model and prediction of favorable accumulation areas in complicated superimposed basins in China显示文摘The geologic conditions of superimposed basins in China are very complicated. This is mainly shown by multi-phase structural evolution,multiple sets of source-reservoir-cap rock combinations,multiple stages of hydrocarbon generation and expulsion from source rocks,multi-cycle hydrocarbon enrichment and accumulation,and multi-phase reservoir adjustment and reconstruction. The enrichment,accumulation and distribution of hydrocarbon is mainly controlled by the source rock kitchen,paleoanticline,regional cap rock and intensity of tectonic movement. In this paper,the T-BCMS model has been developed to predict favorable areas of hydrocarbon accumulation in complicated superimposed basins according to time and spatial relationships among five key factors. The five factors include unconformity surface representing tectonic balancing(B) ,regional cap rock representing hydrocarbon protection(C) ,paleo-anticline representing hydrocarbon migration and accumulation(M) ,source rock kitchen representing hydrocarbon generation and expulsion(S) and geological time(T) . There are three necessary conditions to form favorable areas of hydrocarbon accumulation. First,four key factors BCMS should be strictly in the order of BCMS from top to bottom. Second,superimposition of four key factors BCMS in the same area is the most favorable for hydrocarbon accumulation. Third,vertically ordered combination and superimposition in the same area of BCMS should occur at the same geological time. The model has been used to predict the most favorable exploration areas in Ordovician in the Tarim Basin in the main hydrocarbon accumulation periods. | 2 | Impact of China’s Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan on PM2.5 chemical composition over eastern China显示文摘China promulgated the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan(the Action Plan)in 2013 and developed stringent control measures to mitigate fine particulate matter(PM2.5) pollution.Here,we investigated the PM2.5 chemical composition changes over eastern China associated with the Action Plan during 2013-2017 using satellite-based PM2.5 chemical composition data derived using CMAQ simulations and satellite inputs.The PM2.5 concentrations decreased considerably during this time as a result of the reductions in all chemical species in PM2.5.The population-weighted mean concentrations over eastern China decreased from 11.1 to 6.7μgm-3 for SO42-,13.8-13.1μgm-3 for NO3-,7.4-5.8μgm-3 for NH4+,9.9-8.4μgm-3 for OM,4.6-3.8μg m-3 for BC and 12.9-9.6μg m-3 for other species in PM2.5.SO42-had the largest reduction of 40%,while NO3-had the lowest reduction of 5%,resulting in a greater fraction of NO3-and a smaller fraction of SO42-in PM2.5.Among the three key regions,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei had the largest reduction in PM2.5 and its chemical compositions.The decrease in SO42-concentrations was in line with the reduction of SO2 emissions,and the major driver of the SO2 emission reductions was the industrial sector.The decrease in NO3 concentrations was limited because the decrease in SO2 emissions and the stable NH3 emissions facilitated the formation of NO3-from HNO3,which partially offset the reduction in NOx emissions driven by the power sector.To mitigate PM2.5 pollution more effectively,future efforts are needed to reduce NH3 emissions. | Guannan GENG Qingyang XIAO Yixuan ZHENG Dan TONG Yuxuan ZHANG Xiaoye ZHANG Qiang ZHANG Kebin HE Yang LIU | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12: | 16 |
| 3 | When water meets iron at Earth's core-mantle boundary显示文摘Hydrous minerals in subducted crust can transport large amounts of water into Earth's deep mantle. Our laboratory experiments revealed the surprising pressure-induced chemistry that, when water meets iron at the core-mantle boundary, they react to form an interlayer with an extremely oxygen-rich form of iron, iron dioxide, together with iron hydride. Hydrogen in the layer will escape upon further heating and rise to the crust, sustaining the water cycle. With water supplied by the subducting slabs meeting the nearly inexhaustible iron source in the core, an oxygen-rich layer would cumulate and thicken, leading to major global consequences in our planet. The seismic signature of the D″ layer may echo the chemical complexity of this layer. Over the course of geological time, the enormous oxygen reservoir accumulating between the mantle and core may have eventually reached a critical eruption point. | 6 | The influence of pore size distribution on thermal conductivity,permeability, and phase change behavior of hierarchical porous materials显示文摘Porous foams have been widely employed to improve heat storage rate and prevent leakage of phase change materials(PCMs).Actual porous foams have non-uniform or hierarchical pore size distribution, which is usually neglected in most researches.Here, we establish hierarchical porous models considering different pore size distributions by using Voronoi tessellations. Effects of pore size distribution on thermal conductivity, permeability, and phase change behavior of hierarchical porous foams/PCMs composites are investigated. Uneven pore size distributions are found to decrease the thermal conductivity of porous foams to some extent. On the other hand, the permeability can be reduced by 27.6%, and the heat storage rate can be improved by 7.7% by introducing moderate hierarchy without changing the total porosity. | 8 | Influence factors of two dimensional position map on photomultiplier detector block designed by quadrant sharing technique显示文摘The position decoding accuracy and the spatial resolution of positron emission tomography detectors are greatly influenced by the performance of the two-dimensional position map,including the gain uniformity of photomultiplier tube (PMT),the baseline offset of the PMT signals and the accuracy of analogue to digital converter (ADC).In this work,a PMT-quadrant sharing detector was designed.Two data acquisition platforms are employed to conduct the influence factors on the two-dimensional position map performances,one was that the waveforms of the PMT signals were scanned by the sequence acquisition mode based on the oscilloscope of LeCroy waveRunner 204MXi-A,and another was a self-developed high speed ADC data acquisition module.Results show that the event decoding positions were concentrated on the PMT with higher gain,the position map was distorted at the baseline offset of signal,and the cross-line artifacts were caused by the insufficient ADC sampling bit for a larger size position map.All the parameters need be adjusted properly to stabilize a real system,and the flexible oscilloscope platform can be used to design the detector block and the other platform with high ADC accuracy.Likely,the electrical circuit with a proper ADC accuracy adjusts the PMT gains and baseline offsets. | WEI Qingyang WANG Shi Ma Tianyu MA Fei DAI Tiantian XU Tianpeng WU Zhaoxia JIN Yongjie LIU Yaqiang | 2011 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2011,22,4: | 3 |

| 11 | GATE simulation based feasibility studies of in-beam PET monitoring in ^(12)C beam cancer therapy显示文摘In comparison with conventional radiotherapy techniques,12C beam therapy has its significant advantage in cancer treatment because the radiation dose are mostly concentrated near the Bragg peak region and damage to normal tissues along the beam path is thus greatly reduced.In-beam PET provides a way to monitor dose distribution inside human body since several kinds of positron-emitting nuclei are produced through the interaction between 12C beam and body matters.In this work,we study the quantitative relationship between the spatial location of the Bragg peak and the spatial distribution of positrons produced by positron-emitting nuclei.Monte Carlo package GATE is used to simulate the interactions between the incident 12C beam of different energies(337.5,270.0 and 195.0 MeV/u) and various target matters(water,muscle and spine bone).Several data post-processing operations are performed on the simulated positron-emitting nuclei distribution data to mimic the impacts of positron generation and finite spatial resolution of a typical PET imaging system.Simulation results are compared to published experimental data for verification.In all the simulation cases,we find that 10C and 11C are two dominant positron-emitting nuclei,and there exists a significant correlation between the spatial distributions of deposited energy and positrons.Therefore,we conclude that it is possible to determine the location of Bragg peak with 1 mm accuracy using current PET imaging systems by detecting the falling edge of the positron distribution map in depth direction. | WU Jing LIU Yaqiang MA Tianyu WEI Qingyang WANG Shi CHENG Jianping | 2010 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2010,21,5: | 2 |
| 12 | Evidence for oxygenation of Fe-Mg oxides at mid-mantle conditions and the rise of deep oxygen显示文摘As the reaction product of subducted water and the iron core,FeO2 with more oxygen than hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3))has been recently recognized as an important component in the D'layer just above the Earth’s core-mantle boundary.Here,we report a new oxygen-excess phase(Mg,Fe)_(2)O_(3)+δ(0<δ<1,denoted as‘OE-phase’).It forms at pressures greater than 40 gigapascal when(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials are heated over 1500 kelvin.The OE-phase is fully recoverable to ambient conditions for ex situ investigation using transmission electron microscopy,which indicates that the OE-phase contains ferric iron(Fe^(3+))as in Fe_(2)O_(3) but holds excess oxygen through interactions between oxygen atoms.The new OE-phase provides strong evidence that H_(2)O has extraordinary oxidation power at high pressure.Unlike the formation of pyrite-type FeO_(2)H_(x) which usually requires saturated water,the OE-phase can be formed with under-saturated water at mid-mantle conditions,and is expected to be more ubiquitous at depths greater than 1000 km in the Earth’s mantle.The emergence of oxygen-excess reservoirs out of primordial or subducted(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials may revise our view on the deep-mantle redox chemistry. | Jin Liu Chenxu Wang Chaojia Lv Xiaowan Su Yijin Liu Ruilian Tang Jiuhua Chen Qingyang Hu Ho-Kwang Mao Wendy L.Mao | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,4: | 2 |

| 17 | Mineralogy of the deep lower mantle in the presence of H_(2)O显示文摘Understanding the mineralogy of the Earth’s interior is a prerequisite for unravelling the evolution and dynamics of our planet.Here,we conducted high pressure-temperature experiments mimicking the conditions of the deep lower mantle(DLM,1800–2890 km in depth)and observed surprising mineralogical transformations in the presence of water.Ferropericlase,(Mg,Fe)O,which is the most abundant oxide mineral in Earth,reacts with H_(2)O to form a previously unknown(Mg,Fe)O_(2)H_(x)(x≤1)phase.The(Mg,Fe)O_(2)H_(x) has a pyrite structure and it coexists with the dominant silicate phases,bridgmanite and post-perovskite.Depending on Mg content and geotherm temperatures,the transformation may occur at 1800 km for(Mg_(0.6)Fe_(0.4))O or beyond 2300 km for(Mg_(0.7)Fe_(0.3))O.The(Mg,Fe)O_(2)H_(x) is an oxygen excess phase that stores an excessive amount of oxygen beyond the charge balance of maximum cation valences(Mg^(2+),Fe^(3+) and H^(+)).This important phase has a number of far-reaching implications including extreme redox inhomogeneity,deep-oxygen reservoirs in the DLM and an internal source for modulating oxygen in the atmosphere. | Qingyang Hu Jin Liu Jiuhua Chen Bingmin Yan Yue Meng Vitali B.Prakapenka Wendy L.Mao Ho-Kwang Mao | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,4: | 1 |
