| 1 | Contrasting trends of PM2.5 and surface-ozone concentrations in China from 2013 to 2017显示文摘Although much attention has been paid to investigating and controlling air pollution in China,the trends of air-pollutant concentrations on a national scale have remained unclear.Here,we quantitatively investigated the variation of air pollutants in China using long-term comprehensive data sets from 2013 to 2017,during which Chinese government made major efforts to reduce anthropogenic emission in polluted regions.Our results show a significant decreasing trend in the PM2.5 concentration in heavily polluted regions of eastern China,with an annual decrease of〜7%compared with measurements in 2013.The measured decreased concentrations of SO2>NO2 and CO(a proxy for anthropogenic volatile organic compounds)could explain a large fraction of the decreased PM2.5 concentrations in different regions.As a consequence;the heavily polluted days decreased significantly in corresponding regions.Concentrations of organic aerosol;nitrate;sulfate,ammonium and chloride measured in urban Beijing revealed a remarkable reduction from 2013 to 2017;connecting the decreases in aerosol precursors with corresponding chemical components closely.However;surface-ozone concentrations showed increasing trends in most urban stations from 2013 to 2017;which indicates stronger photochemical pollution.The boundary-layer height in capital c让ies of eastern China showed no significant trends over the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions from 2013 to 2017;which confirmed the reduction in anthropogenic emissions.Our results demonstrated that the Chinese government was successful in the reduction of particulate matter in urban areas from 2013 to 2017,although the ozone concentration has increased significantly;suggesting a more complex mechanism of improving Chinese air quality in the future. | Yonghong Wang Wenkang Gao Shuai Wang Tao Song Zhengyu Gong Dongsheng Ji Lili Wang Zirui Liu Guiqian Tang Yanfeng Huo Shili Tian Jiayun Li Mingge Li Yuan Yang Biwu Chu Tuukka Petaja Veli-Matti Kerminen Hong He Jiming Hao Markku Kulmala Yuesi Wang Yuanhang Zhang | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,8: | 51 |
| 2 | Trends in particulate matter and its chemical compositions in China from 2013–2017显示文摘Accurate determination of the atmospheric particulate matter mass concentration and chemical composition is helpful in exploring the causes and sources of atmospheric enthalpy pollution and in evaluating the rationality of environmental air quality control strategies.Based on the sampling and chemical composition data of PM2.5 in different key regions of China in the CARE-China observation network,this research analyzes the environmental air quality data released by the China National Environmental Monitoring Centre during the studied period to determine the changes in the particulate matter mass concentration in key regions and the evolution of the corresponding chemical compositions during the implementation of the Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Air Pollution from 2013-2017.The results show the following.(1)The particulate matter mass concentration in China showed a significant downward trend;however,the PM2.5 annual mass concentration in 64%of cities exceeds the New Chinese Ambient Air Quality Standard(CAAQS)GradeⅡ(GB3095-2012).The region to the east of the Taihang Mountains,the Fenhe and Weihe River Plain and the Urumqi-Changji regions in Xinjiang,all have PM2.5 concentration loading that is still high,and heavy haze pollution occurred frequently in the autumn and winter.(2)During the heavy pollution in the autumn and winter,the concentrations of sulfate and organic components decreased significantly.The mean SO42-concentration in PM2.5 decreased by 76%,12%,81%and 38%in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH),the Pearl River Delta(PRD),the Sichuan-Chongqing region(SC)and the Fenhe and Weihe River Plain,respectively.The mean organic matter(OM)concentration decreased by 70%,44%,48%and 31%,respectively,and the mean concentration of NH4+decreased by 68%,1.6%,38%and 25%,respectively.The mean elemental carbon(EC)concentration decreased by 84%and 20%in BTH and SC,respectively,and it increased by 61%and 11%in the PRD and Fenhe and Weihe River Plain,respectively.The mean concentration of mineral and unresolved chemical components(MI)dropped by 70%,24%and 13%in BTH,the PRD and the Fenhe and Weihe River Plain,respectively.The change in the PM2.5 chemical composition is consistent with the decrease of the PM2.5mass concentration.(3)In 2015,the mean OM concentration contributions to fine particles and coarse particles were 13-46%and 46-57%,respectively,and the mean MI concentration contributions to fine particles and coarse and particles were 31-60%and 39-73%,respectively;these values are lower than the 2013 values from the key regions,which is the most important factor behind the decrease of the particulate matter mass concentration.From 2013 to 2015,among the chemical components of different particle size fractions,the peak value of the coarse particle size fraction decreased significantly,and the fine particle size fractions of SO42-,NO3-,and NH4+decreased with the decrease of the particulate matter mass concentration in different particle size fractions.The fine-particle size peaks of SO42-,NO3-and NH4+shifted from 0.65-1.1μm to the finer size range of0.43-0.65μm during the same time frame. | Yuesi WANG Wenjie LI Wenkang GAO Zirui LIU Shili TIAN Rongrong SHEN Dongsheng JI Shuai WANG Lili WANG Guiqian TANG Tao SONG Mengtian CHENG Gehui WANG Zhengyu GONG Jiming HAO Yuanhang ZHANG | 2019 | Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12: | 23 |
| 3 | Detecting and monitoring of water inrush in tunnels and coal mines using direct current resistivity method:A review显示文摘Detecting, real-time monitoring and early warning of underground water-bearing structures are critically important issues in prevention and mitigation of water inrush hazards in underground engineering.Direct current(DC) resistivity method is a widely used method for routine detection, advanced detection and real-time monitoring of water-bearing structures, due to its high sensitivity to groundwater. In this study, the DC resistivity method applied to underground engineering is reviewed and discussed,including the observation mode, multiple inversions, and real-time monitoring. It is shown that a priori information constrained inversion is desirable to reduce the non-uniqueness of inversion, with which the accuracy of detection can be significantly improved. The focused resistivity method is prospective for advanced detection; with this method, the flanking interference can be reduced and the detection distance is increased subsequently. The time-lapse resistivity inversion method is suitable for the regions with continuous conductivity changes, and it can be used to monitor water inrush in those regions. Based on above-mentioned features of various methods in terms of benefits and limitations, we propose a three-dimensional(3D) induced polarization method characterized with multi-electrode array, and introduce it into tunnels and mines combining with real-time monitoring with time-lapse inversion and cross-hole resistivity method. | 12 | Recovery of neodymium,dysprosium,and cobalt from NdFeB magnet leachate using an unsymmetrical dialkylphosphinic acid extractant,INET-3显示文摘Rare earths (REs) and Co are critical strategic resources.Their recovery is crucial for ensuring that their supplies are adequate and for reducing environmental pollution.End-of-life NdFeB magnets are important secondary RE sources.The separation of Dy,Nd,and Co from NdFeB leachate using a relatively new extractant (2,3-dimethylbutyl)(2,4,4’-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid (INET-3),was investigated in this study.The separation parameters,such as equilibrium pH,phase ratio,INET-3 concentration,and number of counter-current extraction stages,were optimised.The results show that INET-3 can separate Dy,Nd,and Co efficiently.For the preferential extraction of Dy from synthetic iron-free NdFeB leachate,the optimum equilibrium pH is 2.60.Under this condition,separation of Dy from the leachate requires four counter-current extraction stages at A/O (volume ratio of aqueous to organic)=1:2.This is demonstrated by a simulated four-stage counter-current extraction process.At equilibrium pH=2.52and A/O=1:2,98%of Dy is recovered with 95%purity.As to the subsequent separation of Nd from the leachate,nearly 100%is recovered with 99%purity through a simulated three-stage counter-current extraction process at equilibrium pH=5.33 and A/O=1:1.Approximately 95%of Co remains in the raffinate with 99.98%purity. | Zhengyu Liu a Jiaming Wu a Xinyu Liu Wen Wanga Ziwei Li Ruijing Xu Yue Ding Junlian Wang | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,10: | 3 |
| 13 | Enhancement of fine particle filtration with efficient humidification显示文摘Filtration is one of the most effective methods to remove suspended fine particles from air. In filtration processes,pressure drop of compact dust cake causes problems in efficiency and economy, which has received increasing attention and still remains challenging. In this study, we developed a novel technique to intensify the filtration of fine particles with efficient humidification. Two strategies for humidification, including ultrasonic atomization and steam humidification(controlling of ambient humidity), were employed and proved to be both effective. The regeneration frequency of the filter could be reduced by 55% with ultrasonic atomization, while steam humidification could lead to a 78% reduction in regeneration frequency. The effect of operating conditions on pressure drop and the mass loading during filtration were investigated. The dust cake showed a loose and porous structure with an optimized droplet-to-particle ratio. With the ratio of 1.53 and 0.0282, the maximum mass loading was 552 g·m-2upon the ultrasonic atomization and 720 g·m-2upon the steam humidification. | 16 | Autonomous mission reconstruction during the ascending flight of launch vehicles under typical propulsion system failures显示文摘In recent years, Chinese Long March(LM) launchers have experienced several launch failures, most of which occurred in their propulsion systems, and this paper studies Autonomous Mission Reconstruction(AMRC) technology to alleviate losses due to these failures. The status of the techniques related to AMRC, including trajectory and mission planning, guidance methods,and fault tolerant technologies, are reviewed, and their features are compared, which reflect the challenges faced by AMRC technology. After a brief introduction about the failure modes of engines that can occur during flight, and the fundamentals of trajectory planning and joint optimization of the target orbit and flight path, an AMRC algorithm is proposed for geostationary transfer orbit launch missions. The algorithm evaluates the residual performance onboard, and plans new objectives and corresponding flight path by iterative guidance mode or segmented state triggered optimization methods in real-time. Three failure scenarios that have occurred during previous LM missions are simulated to check the robustness of the algorithm: imminent explosion risk of the boosters’ engines, thrust drop during the first stage of flight, and being unable to start the engine during the second stage. The payloads would fall from space according to the current design under these conditions, but they were saved with the AMRC algorithm in the simulations, which allowed the rocket to get into the target orbit as intended or the payloads were deployed in other orbits without crashing. | 20 | Modification of physicochemical properties and degradation of barley flour upon enzymatic extrusion显示文摘In order to evaluate the application potential of enzyme-extruded barley flour(EEBF)in the brewing of whole-barley beer,the physicochemical properties,mashing and fermentation effects of EEBF were studied,and conventional extruded barley flour(CEBF)and steam-cooked barley flour(SCBF)were taken as controls.The water solubility index(WSI)of EEBF(46.88%-52.63%)was much higher than that of CEBF(6.70%)and SCBF(4.59%).The results of degree of gelatinization(DG)and enthalpy(ΔH)suggested that EEBF was almost completely gelatinized,and the rapid visco analyzer(RVA)exhibited that the peak viscosity of EEBF was drastically reduced.The weight-average molecular weight of EEBF(<10^(6) g/mol)was significantly lower than that of CEBF and SCBF.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that the heat-treatments caused starch granules to break and aggregate,and there were many hydrolyzed pores on the surface of EEBF.Both the long-and short-range order of EEBF were destroyed.Although EEBF caused serious filtration blocking,it greatly improved the alcohol content of finished beer(5.41%vol).Overall,the thermal modification of barley flour by enzyme-extrusion meets the needs of fermentation,and could improve the problem of limited leaching of unmalted barley,which was benefit for the production of whole-barley beer. | Shuna Zhao Aiquan Jiao Yueyue Yang Qing Liu Wenqi Wu Zhengyu Jin | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,45,1: | 2 |
